Not sure if this is the place to post this, but I really need help. I recently ordered the Mpow M30 from eBay and it was amazing. But last night I was using it with my laptop and then put my laptop on temporary hibernation while it was still connected. When I came back, the right earbud no longer had any sound and even after resetting it, only the left one works with my laptop, phone. I would greatly appreciate help to fix this issue, as I'm not able to buy a new one.

Summary As seen in the source video, with a recent update samsung might have started it's path towards some sort of hardware pairing that could make repairs harder? This pairing makes it harder to replace screen with fingerprint sensor, if replacing the fingerprint sensor the fingerprint might not work at all. Some might be due to calibration of the sensor too. While this could be a bug and just a temporary patch to a safety concern. It could be a sign of going down the path of apple's restrictions to repair. My thoughts This could be a future downside to the fingerprint sensor as a whole and needs more work around the fingerprint tech? or about samsung themselves. If they are going to start locking down components and pairing them to not be used with other components that are not paired, but is the same product. Sources

Hey crew! I need a reco for a GPU. 5820k on a Gigabyte GA-X99-SLI. Gaming, light video editing and content creation. Was thinking of doing two 780 Tis in SLI (a config I've used before on a different platform) or maybe a single 970/980. I'm so indecisive! Lol! If anyone has any other thoughts, I'd love to hear your idea. Thanks all!

I have a BT adapter and BT headphones, and recently the two will not reconnect to each other. It used to be that I could simply turn on the headphones and they would connect, as you'd expect from paired bluetooth devices. Now, I'm having very inconsistent luck with pairing at all, as my device doesnt get listed in pairing mode. This started happening after upgrading my motherboard/cpu/ram. (the motherboard does not have built in BT). My suspicion is the motherboard's audio drivers conflicting?

Which Config would be better to get for future upgradability? Core i3 7100 and the gtx 1050 or the Pentium G4560 and the gtx 1050 Ti

I have a 1070 8G Strix card and my cpu is definitely my system bottleneck. (FX8350). Most games don't even bring my gpu usage to above 40% so I'm wondering. What's the most optimal cpu to pair with this card for gaming use? I'm thinking the i5 7600k but I'm finding it difficult to make my final decision. Any help is appreciated!

Trying to pair the headphones to the laptop, drivers all up-to-date. When searching for new devices - these appear as in the image below. Tried power cycling the headphones, and resetting them via the app and via the hardware method (volume +, -, and noise cancelling for 10 seconds). No luck. Any ideas?

This may be a weird question but I am looking to build a new gaming rig and am terrified of bottlenecking because i believe i did so on my last build. That being said im really looking at a RTX 2070 Super but don't know the cheapest yet best performing CPU to pair it with without any type of bottlenecking? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

It appears that the galaxy buds have some kind of chip which pairs with a galaxy device (I have a Galaxy S10) similar to Apple's W1. You can test this by turning off the Bluetooth on your device and the just opening the case with the earbuds inside. Even with the Bluetooth off, the phone can still detect that there's a pair of galaxy buds nearby, and it will prompt you to connect to them on the phone screen. Can anyone verify this in their device?

So in my system right now I have a i5-7500 and a GTX 1070 OC at 2 GHz. When I play GTA V, my CPU usage is at 90%-100% and my gpu is only at 65%. I would like to get a new CPU to finally even out this. I stutter all of the time in GTA V. So much that it's unplayable. The only other thing I have in the background is Discord and the standard windows processes. I was thinking i7-8700 might be a good pair but I heard that my GPU might bottleneck that. I think an i5-8600k would be a good option considering my budget is around $300 with a motherboard. I found a motherboard and an i5-8600k for around 270 in total. I don't care if its used. If you guys could recommend a better cpu that'd be great. I don't know much about AMD so that could be an option if that has the same performance of an i5-8600k for the same price

My new Bluetooth keyboard is driving me crazy. It paired with my PC fine the first time I needed to pair it. I went into "add Bluetooth devices" etc and it came up on screen with a code to type in on the keyboard. I did that, hit enter, and the keyboard had paired. But now when I try to pair it again I am asked to enter a code with no prompt as to what the code is. Windows seems to be assuming that I know what the code is already this time. There is nothing in the keyboard manual which gives such a code. The manual even explicitly says that when pairing windows should generate a code and display it for you to enter it on the Bluetooth keyboard. I've tried "0000" and "1234" to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know how to get around this? Thanks.

Hi, folks, I'm looking for the crowd-sourced wisdom of the LTT forum for suggestions pertaining to my question in the topic title. I recently purchased Plantronic's Backbeat Pro (not the more recent Pro+) and have managed to successfully pair it with my PC (running Windows 10) via a third-party Bluetooth USB dongle called BlueSoleil (I currently live in Seoul, and this was the only product on hand at the time of purchase). I'm pretty content with the sound quality, but my only problem is that when I first turn on the headphones and the PC's Bluetooth, the sound quality seems to default to a very tinny sounding "phone-call" quality sound. I then have to turn off the Bluetooth on my PC then activate the "Bluetooth Advanced Audio" features manually in order to get a connection that allows for "music-level" quality sound. So I'm wondering if there is a way to make the connection default to the "Bluetooth Advanced Audio," so I don't always have to fiddle with the settings each time I put on my headphones. It's very annoying whenever I want to listen to some tunes or start a gaming session. One caveat, even though I'm happy to say that my desktop PC is my first build, I'm still pretty much a liberal arts guy who feels he's (virtually) walking among more technically adept people, so please...not too esoteric with the PC speak! Best regards, Captain Kibosh

I've been considering upgrading my GPU over the past month and with the 980 and 970 coming down in price I'm tempted to go for it. However, my PC is getting on a bit now (over 2 years old) and I haven't changed or over clocked the i5-3570K that's currently in it at the moment so I'm wondering if the extra horse power something like a 970 or 980 offers would go to waste if I don't upgrade or over clock my current CPU which is currently still at the stock 3.4Ghz speed. That said, GPUs are something I don't know a great deal about so would appreciate your guys input on this. What would be your recommendations? My current GPU is a GTX 660Ti by the way. Thanks in advance.

I just bought this at Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics%C2%AE-TT-BR01-Bluetooth-Headphones-Transmitter/dp/B006IJJH7O/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1391669351&sr=8-5&keywords=bluetooth+3.5mm+taotronics And i installed it in my car via a usb power from car ignition (cleverly i might add) so that I will auto connect to my phone whenever I turn the ignition on. (Wired through the stereo 12v to 5v usb to micro usb) And the aux goes to my aux cable, cooler yet. BUT: I have to turn on my phone's screen for it to connect to bluetooth on my phone. My phone is visible to bluetooth devices that it is paired with. Only when the screen is turned on does it actually connect and start playing however. So, my phone is an HTC One from AT&T, is there a setting to change this? Can I change it via root? Anyway I could fix this, because it is really annoying having bought this to have to take out my phone and turn on the screen for it to work. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Since the LTT community is pretty friggin big, I was hoping somebody can give me a hand. I don't know exactly where to post this topic, but I'm just stabbing at the dark. (Mods, I give you FULL permission to move/copy this to wherever it is suitable, or where the problem can be resolved) Background info: I'm a 3rd year electronics and computer engineering student. We have a project term going on, and we've decided to create a WiFi / Bluetooth localization tracking system for a household environment. We are using the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) sent by the target device over WiFi / BT. So we have several Raspberry Pi's located around the house, and a device that is with you that has a wireless connection (smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, laptop, etc) that will broadcast / send a signal...every 1/2 second. The Pi's will pick up the signal and will determine where you are located in the house via signal strength - these values will be compared to a table of values. With the limited time we have, we are using this with only a smart lights system (Philips Hue). Example: Your iPhone broadcasts a WiFi signal. Pi#1 picks up -20dBm signal. Pi#2 picks up -30dBm. Pi#3 -55dBm. Pi#4 -70dBm. Looking at a table of values, you should be in the kitchen. Send signal to Philips Hue system to turn on lights in kitchen. So...you walk out of the kitchen and into your room...raspberry Pi's pick up your signal --> your location in the house. Turn off lights in kitchen, turn on bedroom lights. And so on. The problem: WiFi seems to be working okay, so we are on to BT testing stage. I was able to have my the BT on my group member's iPhone and my iPod working paired with the single testing Pi unit (we have 5 on hand but only have one configured for testing purposes). It can continuously give the signal strength. It is unable to pair with Android devices that we (the project group) has on hand. That is...a Samsung Galaxy S3 and a Galaxy Nexus phone. It will refuse BT pairing. Steps: 1) installed necessary bluetooth stack / files. "sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends bluetooth" 2) Scan for available devices; the MAC address. "hcitool scan" 3) Connect to android device. "sudo rfcomm connect 0 [MAC Address] 10 >dev/null &" 4) ** Message pops up on phone asking to pair with raspberry pi. Apply. 5)** Message appears on Pi terminal (Windows version of command prompt) saying "Can't connect RFCOMM socket: Connection Refused 6) Run "hcitool rssi [MAC adress]". Message shows "Not connected." *** scenarios a) It will say "Connected" on Apple device, and message will say connected on Pi. If type "hcitool rssi [MAC adress]", it will say something like "Connected. RSSI return value: -7." If device is at point-blank of Pi, value is 0. As I move further away, I will get a values of -5, -7, -12...all the way to -30 / -31 before I am too far away and connection is lost. b ) On the Galaxy S3, it shows it is paired with the Pi on the phone itself, but the raspberry pi displays connection error message (as above). c) Nexus phone does not see Pi at BT config screen. When we enter terminal code to connect to Nexus phone, message asking to pair appears on the smartphone. Click Apply. Error message prints out saying unable to connect appears on Raspberry Pi. I am thinking the protocols used on the Android devices are different, and it won't work, but Apple devices do. RFCOMM is serial to BT....I don't think the Android smartphones are HID to BT (or whatever). If any of you from the LTT community has got their Android-based devices working with the Pi over bluetooth, help would be greatly appreciated. (I'll have to try if it works with my ASUS TF300T Android tablet later)
