Hey there fellow Gamers ! We have to do another Group Project in school and this time around our head Topic is Interweaving. It took my partner and I some time to figure out a suitable topic but we settled on "Online Gaming" in the end. Since everything is interconnected and stuff. Once again I created the Survey with help from my good friend @AluminiumTech, he's really good at coming up with great questions and answers. The Survey is in German and English again so that as many people as possible can fill it out. The Data will be used in the forms of diagrams and presented in both a Document and a Power Point presentation to my Teacher and an Expert. You don't have to provide your E-Mail of course as always. This will take some time to fill out so please take your time and read the questions and answers carefully. If you find any typos or experience bugs then let me know by replying to this Thread. Feel free to share this Survey with your Gamer friends or even Boomer Parents who hate Videogames as there is a section with questions for the people who hate our hobby. So here it is: https://forms.gle/fduMtMet6b64q3736 Thank you very much for your time and participation !

I'm thinking of setting up my pc to do some minor YouTube gaming vids and after doing some research on what I will need to create one I've been left more confused than informed. I'm not wanting to sink a ton of money in this because it will only be a hoby, nothing serious. I do have some experience with building and repairing pc's but not much in streaming. Just need some actual constructive info on inexpensive hardware, software and video editing stuff. Thanks for any info you might be able to provide in advance...

Hello, I have a high-end PC with a wifi adapter, because right now i have no way of plugging a cable into the PC (i will have a cable but it doesn't look like it's going to be soon enough). i experience some frameTIME (not frameRATE) spikes in ONLY ONLINE games, e.g. online mode in GRID 2, Rust, PUBG etc... i found somewhere on the internet that USB wifi adapters always tend to force top priority for the CPU, thus the CPU first does the adapter work and then renders the frame. Offline games work fine. Is there any way of getting a consistent frametime in online games with the adapter? P.S. MY LATENCY IS GOOD EVERY TIME, AROUND 50ms, SO PLEASE SPEAK TO THE TOPIC AND DON'T TALK ABOUT LATENCY. PC Specs: MSI Ventus RTX 2060 6GB OC GPU i5 9600k (stock speed) CPU 16GB 3000 RAM Patriot Burst 240GB SSD Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD MSI Tomahawk Z390 mobo Netis WF2190 wifi adapter Seasonic Focus Plus Gold - 650W PSU Windows 10 Home 64bit i'm attaching some MSI Afterburner logs. GRID 2 offline: GRID 2 online: Rust (capped to 74fps using RTSS):

i've been having this super annoying issue since i bought this PC, which was like 3 months ago and i desperatly need help so ANY help is GREATLY appreciated. so when i play some worse (not the worst) optimized games (PUBG, Arma 3, tried murderous pursuits, Hurtworld or Rust) online i get microstutters, but if i play the games offline (murderous pursuits, unfortunately NOT Arma, but that's probably understandabe) they run super fine. some OPTIMIZED games (Dragon Ball FighterZ, Rainbows Six Siege...) work fine even online but not every game is THIS optimized right? can anyone please help me with my issue? those are REAL microstutters by the way (increases in frametime, measured using MSI Afterburner) specs: RTX 2060 i5 9600K (stock speed) 16GB 3000 I tried 2 wireless adapters (i have NO way of plugging in a cable, so please don't even mention it): Netis WF2190 - Adapter i bought with the PC, probably just a shitty adapter if there's not something with my PC TP-LINK TL-WN722N V1 - latest driver is super old (2013), doesn't even support W10 (supports only W8 or W8.1 (not sure rn)) ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED

On March 19th, Google unveiled Stadia. This, is interesting. In lamens terms, this is Netflix for games. By Google. "The Future Of Gaming Is Not A Box" -Stadia Website They boast that you can game where you want, when you want. Very much the WYSIWYG of gaming. The keynote showed a google employee (I assume) on YouTube, and watches a Assasins Creed trailer for the next iteration of Assasins Creed and while the trailer had just ended and you would normally have to wait for the game to be relased on the console that you want so you can play it. The idea with Stadia is that you will have a clickable link much like a annotation in the ending of the video that says "Play on Stadia" clicking on this will bring you instantly into the game. This isnt just a emulator where you play it but not a fill spec. You play in 4k! with the option even to go to 8k in the future. Crazy? I think so. Now, are you not on a laptop anymore? You can move to a phone, in real time, and without losing quality. Then you can move to your tablet, and even to your television on a Chromecast. SAme quality, no loss in fram rate (allegedly) and no lost in progress in the game. Google already does this with the Chome TAbe. You can be on a website on your phone and then you can pick up where you left off at the computer. Google Chrome shows what you had open on your phone and you can just click on it and go. Stadia, does this. The team at Google has though of everything. Including the game stramers. With Stadia, while playing a game, you can simultaneously stream your content in the native framerate and quality DIRECTLY to YouTube. That's awesome. Now the quality? Stadia claims on their website that you can game at a 4K quality with HDR at 60 FPS! No need to get your graphics card updated, and/ore getting a whole new computer. Once again, AWESOME! The best part about all of this, is the games all "live " in th cloud so you save your space on your computer, or phone and that's how you can play it on Chromecast since the Chromecast has no memory on it. I know that there is a lot of talk here about software, and cloud based gaming but you can say "Hey! I want to use a controller. I like the feeling of pressing the buttons and using the sticks" to which I would reply with. "Use your sticks with protection" But in seriousness, Google is releasing something called The Stadia Controller. What exactly is that? The controller looks like a hybrid XBOX and Androuid TV controller. White in color cause Google is about that Asthetich. There is a D-Pad and a pair of joysticks. There is also trigger buttons, and a A,B,X and Y button on the right. Much like a XBOX Controller. There is two buttons on this controller. One called "Capture" and the other for the Google Assistant. Just in case you need to know the weather while gaming. Let's say that you have a controller that you love too much to move away from. Stadia, will have support for USB Controllers and Keyboards and Mice. Lets go back to that Capture Button. This is what you will press to stream to YouTube, No need to fiddle with any web streaming service to show what you are doing. Just press, and go. Theoretically. Now the hardware. Is there any? Google as we know has server farms all over the world. What this allows them to do is tap into each of these for rendering capabilities. So if you are in Dallas, the server farm nearest you renders more of what you are doing and the people around you are doing as well within Stadia. Same goes for if you are in Los Angeles, or New York. Not just in the USs too! Canada, U.K, Japan. All over. With this farm technolohy that Google alrady has, they partnered with AMD for their graphics processors. This gives each GPU 10.7 Teraflops of graphics power in EACH INSTANCE. Partners. As mentioned before, Google has partnered with AMD for GPU Technology, but they have also partnered with Unreal Engine and Unity for Stadia, as well as Vulkan because the bulk of Stadia runs in Linux. A curious point of interest is that some games that require more power. The user can request more nodes at more farms to render their games fastr and make sure that there is no loss in fPS and quality. State Share. With State Share, you can take a moment that is "special" or "awesome" and share it to social media for people to see, it populates a link and you can sent to Facebook or whatever Social site you have. Google also wants down the line to bring production of Cross Platform Play. Theoretically this will allow STadia users to play against people on XBOX or PS4 or PC. Allowing for a broader playing ecosystem. So the final question; Is this the end of console gaming? My answer probably not, because there will always be people who prefer console gaming or PC gaming over this "cloud based gaming" that Stadia is creating. However, Stadia brings forth many questions of, does the console you have at home really need the HArd Drive to save the games? Could we just game off the cloud streamed to the console you already have? That's just a question for when it comes to market. You can learn more about Stadia at their website. As well as sign up for more updates. GO HERE TO CHECK IT OUT

I know this isn't related to PCs exactly, but it has effected my gaming. I have packet loss and jitter. Here's one such test: http://www.pingtest.net/result/138487428.png I had my ISP send a tech to check it out, but the guy didn't even know what packet loss was. It isn't a constant issue, more like a flare. I upgraded my modem recently, as Comcast suggested before I detected packet loss. I also took this tip: http://i.imgur.com/OEpk3R9.png Not only am I unhappy that this persistent issue makes online gaming difficult, but also, the technician was an imbecile. Help is appreciated. UPDATE: Talked to Comcast and they say I don't have the latest modem, which will of course fix all of the problems.

Hi! I'm at a little bit of a bind. My brother is trying to get me into team driving with him and the money is pretty good only problem is I love online gaming (star citizen is a must) but I'm worried mostly about connectivity,I'm with Verizon and I'm not entirely confident that the ping and signal strength is going to be sufficient. I usually get 60-100 ping 2 m b/s down and 1 mb/s up with my phone and I'm sure I'll loose some of that when connected to my computer via WiFI. If anyone have any recommendations or maybe helpful solutions to my issue I would be most grateful! Edit: those numbers are usually off 3-4 bars signal

hey, I need some people to point me in the right direction and possibly sites you know of that would help me get there. I'm taking comp sci in my highschool and we learn java, but no where does it seem like we learn to do anything over the internet. How does one create something like a game over the internet. I honestly know nothing on this or where to even start. Can someone help point me in the right direction?

Good day guys, I'm a new user on this forums and wanted to ask you all what is the best Qos router option for a WAN connection of 5mbps symmetrical up and down. I have basic knowledge on networking. My current setup is the google onhub and my ISPs modem. The prioritization feature on the onhub does not seem to work correctly when my wife is streaming Netflix (Via Wifi) and I am gaming on my desktop over ethernet. I've been researching on Routers with Qos for gaming and came across the EdgeRouter X (good price) with it's new "Smart Queue" feature that seem to work with other users with relatively low (25mbps/5mbps) WAN bandwidth. I do not wish to replace completely my onhub as it has great range and works perfectly for streaming videos to multiple devices only. It's the online gaming that suffers. My plan is to configure the onhub in bridge mode for wireless access point and use the ER-X as a router for it's Qos capability. There also seem to be a lot of information available to tweak it's advanced settings. Upgrading my ISP plan is not an option. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? Thanks in advanced.
