Pc wont turn on. Just upgraded cpu, ram, psu and gpu, all working fine as taken from previous setup and moved to another. Motherboard seems to be the problem. Lights on motherboard light sometimes, I found this to be the cable connection connecting Mobo to Psu a bit lose sometimes and if moved around it will be fine sometimes and not the other times. Compatability is all fine as well double checked on mannufacturer pages. Not sure why it wont boot. Someone save me im a noob.

I have led lights connected to my tv, wich I use as I main monitor but they reset every time I turn the tv off. (Problems with the cheap lights controller that doesn't matter I can set up an automation to turnoff lights with an ir blaster and that saves my config but when they loose power it doesn't ) I need my old Samsung TV's usb ports to stay powered on when I turn off the tv. this tv is from 2010-2013ish, if the model number helps I can add it, but I think all samsungs for a while used the same usb controller.

So, to set context. You know when you set your pc to sleep or hibernate and if you click and key on your keyboard or mouse it turns on. It's that only my room fan/light switch can turn it on when they are not connected whatsoever. I have no idea how or why this happens it makes no sense. Only thing I can think of is some sort of power surge triggering my pc to wake. But how the hell do I fix it. did that all make sense?

Hey guys, I‘m new to this Forum and desperately need your help. Yesterday, I connected a new HDD to my computer. When I reconnected the cable of my PSU and tried to boot my computer, it didn‘t Turn on whatsoever. Only my keyboard and mouse have blinking LEDs as long as the PC is connected to an Outlet. My First thought was to take out the HDD I had just installed, which wasn‘t fixing the error. I‘ve also tried other troubleshooting steps like waiting 2 hours with the PSU Switch set to off and Power disconnected, replacing my MoBo cr2032 battery, trying to Remove all drives and even swapping out my graphics Card. I‘ve also tried disconnecting and reconnecting the 24pin MB connector and swapping RAM sticks. All of the steps above didn‘t help. Since I am a photographer and videographer, i Need a PC to edit and earn money. Do you guys think my Motherboard/PSU is Fried? My System has Been running Just Fine for about 8 years now. Thanks for helping a PC Noob out. Hi there, I have an led light strip plugged into my computer and I use it to light my face during livestreaming/recording. I would really like it if there was a way I could turn the light on and off without just unplugging it. There's not an on/off switch on the strip so I was hoping there was either something in Windows or an external app that could control a specific USB port. If you know of anything like that or possibly can think of another solution that'd be great! Thanks!

Hello everyone. I've been recently trying to set up a samba server for home file sharing. I'm trying to create a share that my whole family can access and write to, even if the file or directory isn't owned by them. For some reason Samba is ignoring my config (unless I did something wrong) and it is creating new directories with a 0750 permission, meaning that only the creator of the directory can put files in it. Any help would be appreciated, below is my samba config.

I built myself a new PC yesterday and it didn't want to turn on I checked everything. Today my father called me and sad that he talked to his friend and that his friend sad that the problem is probably in the age of the BIOS on the motherboard and generation of the CPU. So I learned that you need to do more research when you are building a PC for the first time and I don't even know if I can return the motherboard or CPU to the store.

Hey guys. I've been having problems with my hard drive for a while now. I have a Lenovo All-In-One and what happened is that I got two SMART errors. Searching this up, I found that it's probably caused by a failing hard drive so I went ahead and bought a new hard drive. This hard drive came today. Having taken out the last broken one, I proceeded and tried to install Windows 8.1 through a KnowHow USB stick - as the title suggests, this did not work... At least not to my knowledge. The reason I say this is because I'm able to boot up the USB stick, however the problem is that upon doing so, I get a black screen with the blue Windows 8 logo in the middle, and that's basically it. Nothing else happens, I've tried waiting for over 40 minutes and nothing budges. I don't know if this is a fault of me or my USB drive. I'd appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this issue and how to fix it. Thank you guys!

I would describe the noise as a frequent change in Rotation speed of a Fan. I Already checked if it was a Certain Fan(unpluging one after the other[many reboots]) but it was always there. I have only two thing I would need to still try out, but well one is expensive(changing out all fans) and the other would be the one i will try now... changing the ins and outs to a recomendet config for this case. Thanks for reading and please write your ideas to this Subject!

Hi all! If this is the wrong sub for this content then my apologies. Long story short my computer will every so often start to type and click on its own. It doesn't move the mouse so it just clicks wherever the mouse is at that time and types in that window. It's been doing this off and on for a while now and I decided I want answers! I let it do it's thing in a notepad document and it came up with stuff I know I have typed in the past. So it's typing stuff I've typed months after I typed it, after tens (maybe hundreds) of restarts and turning off and on. I've run countless whole computer virus scans and it finds nothing. I've upgraded the hardware (still the same SSD and HDD's) and it still does it. Anyone got any idea why it's doing this and how to stop it?

This is the second time it's has happened so I already know it's going to be impossible to simply never do it again. Sometimes I forget to also turn my EVGA G2 550W's rear switch off after shutting down my PC. It's orientation even after owning for several months isn't a clear sign when reaching back either. So as a result just now I once again switched it off, thinking that direction was on & then proceeded to tap my MasterCase Pro 3's front power button. For a split second I saw everything light up then go dark. In my opinion this means that it tried to power on with the residual power that was left in the PSU but then couldn't continue. Realizing what happened, AGAIN, I flipped the rear switch the other way & powered on normally. Nothing appears to be out of sorts yet but I have to ask, has this or could it after future occurrences permanently damage any of my components? P.S: Simply trying harder to remember doesn't work, if anything then I forget more often.

(Troubleshooting) PC Turns On No Display
Jordan1417 posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I got a computer for free because it was running vista with a sata 3 HDD and the guy said it was running slow. So I decided I was going to make it a PC for my office room since all I do in there is type with word, some excel, and web browsing. The PC was fine before but it was slow, so I had a SSD laying around and I removed the HDD cage and DVD cage from the computer since I wanted the computer to be very light and mobile and I was just gonna use some double sided tape to stick the SSD in. Well I install the SSD and install windows 10 and everything is fine. I shut down the computer then opened the case and I sprayed it out with canned air and I removed the CPU heatsink and reapplied some thermal paste since that the thermal paste was dried out and old, I used 91% rubbing alcohol and applied some Arctic MX 4 thermal paste cause I have used it in many PC's I've built in the past. I screwed the heatsink back on and closed the case. When I plugged everything back in, the PC turns on but now the monitor shows no display. I tested my VGA cable and monitor on another PC and they work fine. I moved the ram to different spots and tried using only one stick of ram, I removed the cmos battery, unplugged everything from the mobo and replugged it, made sure everything was connected tightly. Everything. I removed the cpu to see if I might have bent some pins on it but everything seems fine. The PC only has one output port and it's VGA. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! Hi everyone! I'm having a little problem in here and was hoping to get some help from you guys so here is the issue: I've just bought a new PC about two weeks ago, which specs are the following: - Ryzen 1600 w/stock cooler. - ASUS Prime B350 Plus. - 2 x 8GB Vengeance RGB DDR4 3000MHz Memory Kit (CMR16GX4M2C3000C15) - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 Oc 8Gb - Corsair CX850M 850W 80 Plus Bronce. - Corsair Crystal 460X RGB. - Windows 10 Pro 64-Bits. I installed everything, windows, drivers, steam and downloaded some games and the pc worked flawlessly but, when I tried to get the RAM to 2933 Mhz I couldn't as that specific MB didn't support my kit for those speeds. I contact the vendor, explain everything and manage to get the MB to be changed to the ASUS Prime X370 Pro which had my RAM kit in the QVL and effectively let me get the RAM to those speeds. Here is when the magic started to happen. All of the sudden and completely random (most of the times while gaming) the PC started to "reboot" and freeze, showing a black screen with "No signal" on it, the GPU RGB goes white and despite the whole system being on and running that sign won't go away and I have to do a hard reset to the system in order to use it again. I got the RAM to stock speeds @ 2133 Mhz and despite letting me play for longer this still happens from time to time. Updated BIOS to latest (V0805) and all other drivers are up to date also but this keeps happening. I've tried to replicate the problem by running aida64, Unigine Heaven and superposition and no luck at all. The CPU temps at idle stay at 32 C and when I stress it with aida64 they get to 66/67 C, GPU temps get to 70 C with fans running at 50/60% when on load (temps seems fine for me but better let you guys know them for sure). Yesterday I've read on a forum that installing MSI Afterburner and setting "keep current constant" might do the trick and so far so good but I only managed to test it for a couple of hours and I didn't try to get the RAMs back to 2933 again (I'm gonna be doing this when as soon as I get back home from work today). Anywho, I would love to get some help from you guys on what may be causing this issue as the system should be fine running at full load with RAM @2933Mhz.

Hi, I have good components i7 6700k 32gb ram gtx 980Ti asus maximus 8 extreme adata SSD 2x seagate 4tb hdd in raid 0. 1x toshiba hdd from an old laptop (used for media files, nothing else) I am wondering why my pc lags so much? Upon bootup my task manager shows 90-100 percent usage When I play games they will just freeze, audio will usually keep working. Discord stutters I also made another thread which was never resolved, when I move a chrome window around it lags. I do plenty of antivirus checks, and dont see anything using a ton of resources. Why is this? I noticed this issue after trying to overclock according to linus' tutorial, whilst stress testing, the screen went black. I immediatly went into bios, reset, redid my raid, and used the asus tuner to OC. I am noticing WORSE performance than BEFORE I tried to OC. Why is this?
