http://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2017/2/26/14741886/lg-g6-announced-specs-features-mwc-2017 Looks like the leaks were spot on: 18:9 quad-HD display HDR 10 and Dolby Vision Android 7.0 2x 13-megapixel rear cameras Very thin bezel - 80% Screen-to-body Snapdragon 821, 4GB Ram 32GB storage, microSD Non removable 3300mAh battery, USB-C Wireless charging (US-only) Quad-DAC (Korea-only) Dual-Sim (select Eastern European countries) LG has gone ahead and made a phone that aims to nail the basics rather than have all the gimmicks of its rivals. Interesting to note that different models have features missing/added: Korea - Quad DAC no wireless charging US - Wireless charging on 2 standards Europe - Neither.... Update: The price has been revealed in Germany as 750 Euros, at current conversion that's USD $800. Pricing is below the Pixel and iPhone but still inline with HTC and Huawei, basically just below flagship pricing but not significantly.

I have an LG G5 that is running Android 6. It is on Cricket Wireless (an AT&T subsidiary) and has been since I bought it in September. I have a friend that also has an LG G5 and he has had Android 7 since November. I have talk to LG about when I am going to get it, and they said to talk to my carrier. I talked to Cricket and they said "What is android?" I talked to another representative from Cricket and that one said to talk to LG. Now i just want a final answer: am I ever going to get Android 7 on my 2016 flagship phone? How do I go about getting it?

Is there a way to install a 64 bit Android operating system in a PC, specifically Android Nougat. I'm building a Media Player from old desktop hardware with android installed to it. I specifically want it to be android. I've searched it but everyone is showing an Android x86_x64, don't know if it's a 32bit or 64bit OS. I have 4GB of RAM so i'm afraid if i install a 'x86_x64' OS, i won't be able to use that 4gigs of RAM. If this 'x86_x64' is a 64 bit operating system, will it show up as a 64bit OS? I have attached a pic in which someone has installed android on a laptop. Link to the video:

Today, Nougat released in the UK for my S7 Edge, I decided to flash it to my device to save waiting on it to manually come though. Just wondering if anyone knew how my phone will now go about updating, will I still get OTA updates even though I flashed 7.0 or will I have to manually flash everytime there is a new update.

I have tried to get there myself but I seemingly can't so here I am asking for help. I tried to flash the stock recovery over my twrp to maybe even get the update to work that way but it failed just like before except now it doesn't reboot into recovery to then do nothing instead it sends me to a battery indicator screen so I suspect something has gone wrong flashing the recovery. There where no sign indicating this when I flashed it using this command: fastboot flash recovery stock_recovery.img (everything ran fine and terminated fine. Yes I was in the right folder). Now I also trid flashing TWRP back but this also didn't work. Now I have a fully working phone without any recovery. Do you need any further info? (I have also posted this in the Oneplus 3 forums)

I have a Oneplus 3 and it is still running OOS 3.2.8 (based on Android 6.0.1) rather than OOS 4.0.1 (based on Android 7.0.1). I am in the UK and, yes, I have checked for updates. Is it not out in the UK or have I got some kind of problem? I am aware that I could sideload it but I'd rather not bother. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a Verizon S7 Edge on Android 7.0. When on Marshmallow and for a while on Nougat, VPN (Opera and some others, but I don't user Betternet) worked just fine. Now however, after a few minutes my Wifi goes from working to "May not have Internet access" and I can no longer load any webpages. Opera VPN is set as an exemption from optimized battery. Any suggestions/ideas? TIA.

So I got my brand new OnePlus 3T yesterday and in my surprise it does not have Android Nougat installed. It runs on 6.0.1. From what I can tell it's a November phone so it makes sense, but when I try to search for updates it says there aren't any. What is going on, anyone knows? Shouldn't it automatically update to Nougat? Does it have to do with where I live?

Updated my Nexus 6P to Android 7.0 Nougat. It's great, but one thing I noticed is that it totally breaks thermal monitoring of internal components. I don't care that much, just interesting, and a heads up to anyone who wants to update and needs to monitor their temps. This happens with every monitoring app, not just CPU-Z.

This is a practically fresh nougat image on my device, but there seems to be two Smart View shortcuts available in the drop-down quick settings menu. Any ideas on how to remove quick settings from the menu? I've had tough luck finding any methods. I understand that I can just hide the icon in the options screen, however that does not remedy this oddity. Is there a known application that adds another Smart View shortcut, or what? The extra icon only differs in the length of the arrow, but both access the same thing.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if by any chance anyone would be able to shed information regarding the display on my phone, I’ve purchased an LG Q6 around 1 month ago (released in August 31st Australia) and I am intrigued but also confused at what kind of screen/resolution it is actually running at. According to multiple sources, it’s got an 18:9 aspect ratio, and a resolution of 1080x2160. I’ve never actually seen a phone with this resolution before, I’m leaning towards the display being 1080 FHD, but what’s the 2160? Is that 2k? 2.5k? What is the “resolution” of the display? Any help or information about this kind of display would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Karbzee.

A while back I got rid of my smart phone and opted for a flip phone. I had my reasons to do that but now I have too many reasons to come back to 201X and upgrade. Needs: I need an android that goes for under $50 USD. I need it to be supported by a heavy duty case manufacturer. (For example OtterBox) Cricket availability or unlocked Wants: I my main want is for it to be speedy. I hate lag. I used to have a Galaxy S2 and a bottom of the bin laptop. Now I have a gaming PC and an iPad Mini 4; I'm not going back man. I want it to support Nougat. I'm a stickler for having the latest version of an OS. Things to keep in mind: The display doesn't need to be anything special. I don't need good camera (or a camera at all). As long as I can expand the storage it doesn't matter

So, apparently Google: This update works: Original article can be found here: XDA-Developers Well, in my opinion it's simple but very important update to Android eco-system. Many times I found myself helplessly clicking back button to get out of and website (I suppose it will also work with Chrome) which turned out to be a some kind of a malicious loop. Now Android will recognize that I want to get out of this "place" and will close whatever is on my screen and will get back to home screen. Great! What do You guys think about it? Is it even worth mentioning?

Hey all! Not sure if this is the right place to ask. Just got the V20 a day ago, switching from my Nexus 5X. I'm finding it disappointing despite the larger screen (5.7 inch), it mostly displays LESS stuff than my 5.2 inch 5X. Here's the reddit frontpage for example: Amazing, it's an entire post behind. I was really excited for the increased screen space when I got the V20. Right now I'm lucky if the V20 displays the SAME amount as my 5X... Does anyone know a secret setting I can use to further shrink the UI? The smallest setting on the V20 is equivalent to large on my 5X LOL. Or perhaps mods, roms, anything! Thank you!

Hi Guys, Ive read through many threads but cant find anything that matches my problem, hoping someone can help? I have a LG G5 with android version 7.0. After the most recent update my encrypted SD card just shows as corrupted and doesn't let me access it, it just prompts me to wipe it. I have tried restarting the phone and taking out the SD in different combinations, i also tried using recovery software to recover from the card but the data is recovered encrypted so i cant read/see it Is there anyway to get the phone to see the SD card or decrypt the SD? I really want my data back as stupidly i never backed it up Any replies are really appreciated Will,

I'm very disappointed with a couple of issues: 1 - Not so accurate white levels in screen (bluish tint) 2- No OTA yet (hoping to get fast charging and below fprint problem resolve soon with that) 3- Fprint reader sucks (takes 1-1.3 secs on avg) (not enough load...only 180 avg. apps installed) 4- laggy, stuttery, and slow performance overall (app animations are so damn laggy) 5- Camera app hangs at video rec. times 6- volume/ringer/alarm/media bar doesn't disappear after 1.5-2 secs. (takes forever or around 1 minute to self close)!! 7 - RAM usage never goes below 3.1 GiGs (Already the phone is advertised at 4gb) I'm still cautious about: 1 - I'm a fan of restoring to previous customized state so that after reformat/full wipe, i don't need to do the same hassle and start over. 2 - I wanna root my device but for only and only my favourite audio player viz. "Poweramp alpha build 704" (because of it's exquisite variety of settings and customizations ?). So I just want to ensure proactively if my device will whether return to normal state (as formerly unrooted) or not? Want a detailed and expert reply. ty in adv. ?

Hey guys, recently I rooted my nexus 5x in order to gain 'stereo speakers'. Unfortunately there became an addiction. In 24 hours i had tried around 4 ROMS and finally settled with stock android but rooted. I would like to know some of your must have rooted applications! P.S Already have elementalx kernel and Kernel Aduitor. Thanks dudes.

Finally got the notification on my Nexus 6P that I could upgrade to 7.0. Immediately jumped on it. It optimized some applications, rebooted and... it looks the same. Okay well I didn't look up any reviews of it beforehand so maybe it's just very similar. I jump into settings and in fact no - I'm still on 6.0.1. What gives?

Google has finally released Android 7.0 Nougat after many months of beta. The beta program was started much earlier this time around and release is therefore earlier than previous schedules. This was probably done to better align with Android device manufacturer schedules/product launches. The new Android version won't be a major departure from Marshmallow but will bring a bunch of new features and under-the-hood changes that improves upon Android. Among the new features are: Vulkan support VR support (Daydream) Better multi-tasking including new screen modes such as split screen and PIP Improved Doze for better battery life Improved notifications including bundling of notifications to avoid clutter Various performance improvements including new JIT compiler Improved security with file-based encryption, hardening of media libraries (Stagefright) through sandboxing and restricted permissions. Also, enhanced secure boot. Seamless updates (only possible on new devices shipping with Nougat) by having two system partitions that can be swapped during a reboot. Besides the Nexus devices which can obtain the update now, there will be devices shipping with Nougat soon; the first being the LG V20 which will ship in September. Alas, most devices will not be updated and those that will are going to wait quite a while in the majority of cases. Source: http://www.anandtech.com/show/10587/android-7-nougat-released
