I finally mustered up the courage to say Join the LTT forums, despite being an on and off, fan of Linus since 2015. I also re-watched the video My Teenage Dream PC - Ricer PC Part 1, and remebered how sad i was that there was never a part 2, at least to my knowledge. In my quest to find it, I found his video Rebuilding My VERY FIRST Gaming PC! I felt inspired to repost the First, and really the only, Gaming PC I have ever made. The year? 2012 I was an adult (20 to be exact) i had finally graduated high school (I dropped out at 17, got my GED, was attending community college classes in philosophy/Psycology, and perusing my dream career in standup comedy, Spoiler- It didn't happen. Probably because i played WOW too much) Any way, I finished High School and Vocational training at job Corps. At the end of training at Job corps, I had major depression issues, and was banking on the world ending. So i did what any 20 year old failed comedian, who lived with their mom would do, Spend ALL their Job Corps money on a sick, custom, Top of the line Gaming computer(so they could finally play Crysis) As a super AMD Fanboy I came up with this build: End of the World Gaming Computer -Pcpartpicker.com I Gamed on it till 2015, when it was stolen from my car, when I was finally moving out of my moms house thanks to my job at Taco Bell. Nowadays, I am just a maintenance tech, I just play games and sculpt in blender on a refurbished lenovo thinkcentre with a AMD workstation Graphics card. However, this year( of all f***g years) my wife decided to get into Pc gaming, so I got her a system with an I5 10400, and an AMD RX 580, because it was what I could afford. It was also probably a waste though, as she seems to prefer games like Stardew Valley, and Among us... Once I've saved Up enough money though, I plan on making a Threadripper3990x/Radeon RX 6900 XT AMD fanboy Workstation, , As my Blender hobby is starting to look like a career. With my current jank setup, I already have decent speeds, Using AMD ProRender In Unreal Engine with the Vulkan API, Rendering full detail, animated scenes, and I want to see what it would be Like on a top of the line AMD beast.

How long will a 1660 last (IN LIFE YEARS...NOT GAMING YEARS)if i do some gaming (not too often) and some amount of 1080p video editing? I recently got an offer from asus for a pc which costs 800 dollars...they gave me two models... a ryzen 7 2700 with a gtx 1660 ti (6gb) and a ryzen 5 3400G with a gtx 1650 ti (4gb) i am really confused which to buy.....there is not much performance difference between the 2700 and the 3400g...but the 3400g has an integrated graphics card the thing is this is my first time i am buying a PC with dedicated graphics card and i am not sure how long will the GPU last in terms of life....thats why i prefer a pc with an integrated gpu...just to be on the safe side if a dedicated gpu like the 1660 will die in like 6 years then i would go for the 3400g...or if it can last around 8-10 years with the above usage i would go for the 2700 and upgrade the cpu later on pls help

So inevitable has finally happened, Old Bessy has finally kicked the bucket. She will be missed, and nothing can replace that first computer that you have ever built. For a computer built from old parts as it was, it served me well these last 5 years, but now it's time to move onto something new. Knowing that this was going to come eventually I started to plan out my new rig a while back and this is finally what I'll settle on: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/XpuzzlemasterX/saved/hjrXsY I code named this build Odysseus (after the Greek hero who all those myths are about) for it supposed to withstand the test of time like Old Bessy, and be strong and lively like the hero. I give all builds names, I just think it's fair. I will be reusing the power supply (if possible) from Old Bessy since it still works and being a 600W Thermaltake TR2, so a part of her will still live on. I am open to any tips, or criticism, so feel free to recommend some part to me as you wish, just remember that my budget is $900; $930 is the most I am willing to spend if I have to go over $900. It's been a while since I've updated this and I kinda feel bad by not doing so. With this I'll update anything that's happened over the past few weeks. It's been a bit eventful but it seems that what has been happening is kinda changing how I've been seeing my life now. First, tech... As you may of known, I already aquired my GTX 780 Classified and you all know I'm absolutely loving it. Even with the new card I still have my old GT60 for VGA support to my side monitor. Reason behind this is that the 610 with VGA beats my 780 with HDMI in color quality and compatibility. Strange how older tech can still be used, huh? Now I've been able to play more games than before and really has been a nice thing for me. Completed Crysis 2 and going full on in Hawken really gives me fun now. However, there are still changes to be done. My main goal now with my rig is to expand on storage and memory. Currently running 8GB single channel has shown that a few of my programs might benefit from at least twice (16GB). Now with the greater access to my anime shows (thanks @TopWargamer!) it seems my old WD Blue 500GB will have to be used, even at it's questionable state. My main drive is also filling up and it seems I'll have to expand. Second, life... Now life has been a bit questionable over the past weeks. Friends leaving, family seeming to go against you, and my life itself have been a strange thing. As some may know, I've been going to the hospital and my actual state is questionable, I have suspicion and probable proof of something wrong. I already stole the data from the hospital on a CD given to my mother over the weekend. Is there something wrong? I wouldn't know... Another thing is that I seem to have gain the trust of more and more of my friends, which is nice. But some seem to be fading out of their own shells. It's sad to see and now I'm trying to keep them in line and remember that it's all good for now. Same has been done over the weekend and really it does show me how I gotta be more social. I've only become this openly social this year which has become nice. This week was just bowling with a few friends and now next week it's sushi with this chick. It's strange how times change... Is life good now? Maybe... I am already seeing people again and having a bit of more fun in life which is seemingly nice. But the question is... How long will it last? Or better yet, how long will I last to see it?

Hi guys. Well, life is changing (kinda). I have multiple job opportunities to strive for before me. Here they are: On my LinkedIn page (which my current employer requires we all have for business relations reasons), another IT firm/thing has sent me a message about being interested in hiring me. While this sounds cool, I've never heard of them. They are a little over an hour away, and I know nothing about any of that (their location, the people there, etc.) However, they have it on their webpage and in this message that they believe people should love where they work. That's right up my alley because that's how my current employer is and it's a generally good thing (obviously). It's 20 minutes from a relative I could stay with, and odds are, I would be paid a bit more. It's just a matter of "It's new and I have to start over being social." basically, but I get that's just part of a new job and I should get used to it. So yeah. That's one option. My ultimate problem in life is that I'm complacent. If I could just stay doing what I'm doing all my life, I'm fine with that, even with my pay. I'd live in my vehicle and sell my house if I could do so with a server and computer/connection to the internet and the basic amenities (i.e. RV) if I could. But tis life. The next option I have is to work at my step-dad's employer. They. Sound. Awesome. He actively gets bonuses (for being a good employee of course) frequently, stocks, and all sorts of bonus "reward" things. Though I'm not sure if that's just because they like him and he's good at what he does, but from what I've heard from him, that's kind of how it is for everyone at his workplace. I'd probably have to move because it's as far or further than the prior job and I wouldn't be working in the same place he does, so I can't ride with him there. I've heard the pay is good as well. The only problem is, again the "I have to be social" thing, and that I know little of what I would actually be doing. They have an IT position open (according to him), but ... that is very vague. I guess I'll just have to explore this one more. The problem with the above two things is that they are just work experience. I'd really like to go back to college at some point. Anything that helps me do that is a major plus. Which brings me to the next one: The Air Force (or other military branch). The Air Force specifically has their own college which is acredited and accepted by the southern colleges (some board thing where they all accept each other's credits and stuff). A negative is the training because it will be hard, but I am sure I can handle it, but it's a positive because I would learn a lot of useful life skills as well. A negative is I would be away from my family, but to me, that's also a positive. I think they are a bit too dependent on me to be honest. They need to sort their things out and I am not the type of person to turn down helping someone unless I have to. This would make it a "have to". A negative is that I might get paid better elsewhere, but I have 2 years of college (67 hours of credit) already and that guarantees me a promotion and pay raise when I leave basic, so it's not that big of a negative. Plus I get college credit for basic, so not much of a negative at all. Then there's the benefits of the military (insurance, pensions, that stuff). However, there is the huge negative to this that it's entirely possible that World War III will start soon. The world is just like it was before WW I & II. The US is in an isolationist mind set just like it was after the Spanish-American War. Russia is pulling some Nazi stuff with Crimea and the Ukraine. I mean really. It's not that out there that I might be deployed to a battle zone. Which, I'd accept if I were in the military, but it's something to consider. Overall, this is probably the best choice in terms of overall package. However, I may or may not be disqualified due to varying reasons. We will see. And yeah. Those are my 3 options currently. A 4th would be to stay where I am, but .... eh. That would kind of rock and suck at the same time. I love it here, but .. the pay and the career ladder aren't there. Sometimes that's worth it, but only if you are older and have the capital to take a hit in your potential pay. I'm not, and don't. What do you guys think? Any advice and/or knowledge to give? So I'm coming to the end of my Computer Science degree, around 4 weeks till I finish my final ever 'teaching term' but I'm struggling with motivation and fitting everything in. I'm good for my deadlines, but with the amount of work to do on my final year project, it's hard to figure out a good schedule and to keep motivated to work constantly throughout the day even with short breaks. What I wanted to know was, what relaxation and motivation techniques do you use to keep being successful, manage time, and most importantly, keep on top of deadlines/work. It's a fine balance but I'm finding is extremely hard to find! Thanks

The motherboard im looking to get is the asus rog maximus ix code unless there's a motherboard that is better in every feature. I don't really know how education systems work in other countries but here in the Philippines, we have a really weird one. I'm an upcoming Grade 11 Student and I want to be a Game Developer someday. I am interested in directing and producing games in the future but I also think that coding and programming is REALLY cool. STEM (Science,Technology,Engineering,Mathematics) or ICT (Information and Communications Technology) STEM is more of a preparation for college. ICT is for starting an early career. Please help me. Hi I am writing this post to thank everybody from LMG and whole community that creates it. After over a year of daily watching every new and past episode I decided to quit studying some crap university and focus on IT. I knew I don't want to be a programist, I've always admired work of admins, keeping everything working and doing a lot of background work that no one's care about but is a must for every application. I've been searching for 3 months a place that would take me for some paid intership, no one called me back, as I didn't have any documented experience, I helped ten's of friends with repairing their pc's and setting some small servers for games and etc. When I was about to give up I flashed on that 4+ years ago as a teen I played a lot of CS GO with a guy from IT from my city, I emailed him and he agreed to pass my CV to admin division in his company. They called me back and gave me a chance. They saw my commitment and after a trial period gave me an offer to stay as a junior admin. I started weekend IT college and I am working my dream job in one of the biggest finance company in Poland. Everything I just wrote happened because of LTT and CS:GO. Is it worth turning on? Will it actually make a difference in battery life and how much will it affect normal performance?

My dad bought a new tv today, in the shop i adviced to don't buy anything smart because its a liability in the long run and my parents last tv was their replacement to CRT and 10+ years old. its a samsung smart tv, it has a build in virus scanner so it only worry's me more for the long run. how long will they update this?

I got my Galaxy S7 through Vodafone Germany about 9 months ago, and in that time I'm quite feeling the shit TouchWiz aging. Now my phone dod go through some non official flashing back when i Nougat for the S7 just came out. I was very excited so i just grabbed the first one o could find and flashed it. Now when I had marshmallow i would get about 6 hr SOT, with decently heavy usage. After Nougat I couldn't punch through 4 and a half or 5,and now 3 is the highest I can get. I even did a wipe some time ago. Now tbh i do use it a bit more heavily these days, with wifi, data and GPS on all the time, but it's still too bad, and it doesn't improve no matter what i do. Now i was hoping i could get some raw feedback on some custom ROMs over here. Currently I think I'll get the SuperMan rom since most of the AOSP ones aren't at the most stable state. I need help identifying a problem on 2017-07-13's recent usage report. I'm confused how the device could possibly be suspended with 75% and wake up to a 44% battery. The thing I notice is that my HP Spectre x360 15.6" was just pulled out of my bag very warm to touch. The device did not respond to key presses but the power button is lit up and so was my volume mute indicator. I proceeded to just force shutdown and reboot, as you can see in the battery report, it was indicated that it was still suspended. Hi! So, I recently bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, and it supports quick charge 4.0, the thing is, can I use a Moto fast charger without damagin the battery? I had a moto g5 plus, and the Moto fast charger has three outputs, standard: 5v-1.6A, turbo1: 9v-1.6A and turbo2:12v-1.2A. The only difference is that Xiaomi's phone has USB type C, which forces me to swap cables. The original Xiaomi charger has a single output of 5v-2A, and the phone recognizes the fast charger when I plug it in. Using it normally, and with Xiaomi's type-c usb plugged in moto's fast charger, will damage my battery? I know fast charging degrades the battery "faster", but I want to be sure this doesnt damage the whole thing in months Thanks!

I am planning to buy Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L [RGB 1.0] CPU liquid cooler for my gaming PC but I don't know anything about the durability or the lifespan compared to Air Cooler which is of a big ass in size. So my Questions are 1. What is the lifespan of any AIO liquid cooler?? 2. Is it high maintenance ??? 3. Is it safe ??? {probability of leakage and ruining the whole pc} 4. I will be playing 5 hours daily so when do I change it ??? 5. Compared to Air cooler which is safer ??? 6. Is Air cooler as good as liquid ??? Is there a very big margin between both that here where I live the temperature in summer can go as high as 52 Degrees Celsius... I need your help here guys

Anyone else wonder if it will ever be possible to never die of old age? Like conciousness transferred to a computer and keep living on as a robot forever.... or in a new host body? Maybe we will figure out how to regenerate telomeres so DNA does not degrade and old age does not happen? I just have this in my head is all, what do you think? Or will earth be uninhabitable in 50 years and humans extinct?
