Hi everyone can anyone help me with my led strip project? I am working on making a light-emitting profile and want 2 LED strips in this profile to increase the amount of light. Now I have split the power supply as you can see in the photo. and I encounter a problem. when I turn on the blue and green color they work perfectly. However, when I turn on red, it is red for about 2 minutes and then switches to pink. When you disconnect the black cable (12v) from the 1st and then switch it on, it is just red again, and vice versa. so it only does this when both strips are connected at the same time. does anyone have an explanation for this? 20231102_222946.jpg

I have a cooler master MC500M chassis, about 1.5yrs old, and the illuminated plate, between the PSU and motherboard area has a single led strip, with its light diapered via an acrylic plate. Recently, the led strip has been running incredibly hot, to the point where it cannot be touched, and heats up the glass side panel around that area. Two yellow streaks have also appeared, presumably related to the heat being produced. The strip becomes hot as soon as the pc is started, and the yellow streaks are also present all the time. Any ideas on what the cause of the overheating might be? Its a standard 12v RGB strip.

I was finding the two LED strips in my computer too bright, to the point where they were annoying to my eyes as I would see them at the periphery of my vision. J&D PC RGB LED Strip Lights, 2-Pack Adhesive Magnetic RGB LED Light Strip Plus Extension with 4pin RGB Header for Motherboard/PC Case Compatible with Asus Aura/Asrock Aura RGB LED/MSI Mystic Light : AmazonSmile: Lighting To reduce the brightness and defuse the light somewhat I bought clear anti slip tape and cut it to a length and size that cover the whole strip. HIGH GRIP ANTI SLIP TAPE - TRANSPARENT - 50 mm X 5 M - INTERHOME© : AmazonSmile: DIY & Tools I purchased what I felt was the cheapest as I was experimenting, there might be superior products to what I used. What I have now is a lessened brightness by a few % to the square of each LED and a larger weak shade of the colour in a square around the LED. I figure more tape on top will drop the brightness even more, but at the moment the light is now tolerable for me. (nb I have included the Amazon page only for reference of the product I used.)

Hey Guys! I hooked up my WS2812 Led Strip to my Arduino and programmed a Light-Mode, but i can't explain myself why the variable "a" isnt getting count up. Code: #include <FastLED.h> #define LED_PIN 2 #define NUM_LEDS 25 CRGB leds[NUM_LEDS]; int segNr = 0; void setup() { FastLED.addLeds<WS2812, LED_PIN, RBG>(leds, NUM_LEDS); FastLED.setMaxPowerInVoltsAndMilliamps(5, 500); FastLED.clear(); FastLED.show(); Serial.begin(9600); Serial.print("Setup 1: "); Serial.println(segNr); segNr = 15; Serial.print("Setup 2: "); Serial.println(segNr); } void loop() { // put your main code here, to run repeatedly: //leds[0] = CRGB(255, 0, 0); //leds[1] = CRGB(0, 255, 0); //leds[2] = CRGB(0, 0, 255); nightrider(); } void nightrider() { Serial.print("Anfang: "); Serial.println(segNr); if (segNr >= 25) { Serial.print("Reset: "); Serial.println(segNr); segNr = 0; } else { Serial.print("Set 1: "); Serial.println(segNr); for (int i = 0; i <= NUM_LEDS; i++) { leds[i] = CRGB(255, 255, 255); } Serial.print("Set 2: "); Serial.println(segNr); leds[segNr] = CRGB(255, 0, 0); } FastLED.show(); delay(500); segNr++; Serial.print("Ende: "); Serial.println(segNr); } void randomcoloreffect() { for (int i = 0; i <= 25; i++) { leds[i] = CRGB(random(0, 255), random(0, 255), random(0, 255)); } FastLED.show(); delay(1000); } My Serial output is really weird because im getting "0" at "Set1:" and "-1" at "Set2".But i dont know why the for loop effects the a variable. Thanks for your help.

Hello, As per title, I am wondering to correctly wire my 2 pin uv led strip to 4 pin (rgb) motherboard header. This would allow me to turn it off when not needed or dim it if it is too strong on software level. I've seen people sugvesting to connect: 1) 12v to 12v and green (or any single color) to - 2) 12v to 12v and red green and blue all to - How do you think wchich way is better/would work at all

Hi all, I have an Phantek Enthoo Pro Full Tower case and I'm thinking of spiffing it up with LED strips. I don't need anything fancy like a controller; I just want it to light up when I turn on my PC. I'm trying to save some money since the rest of the parts already cost me a lot. I found this thing on eBay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/25-50CM-3528-5050-5630-LED-for-PC-Computer-DIY-Flexible-Case-Strip-Light-DC-12V-/141709221918?var=&hash=item20fe87201e:m:mAGyjuc328w0nWzGVWrrOLQ It's 50cm 5050 Blue LED strip with a molex pin for around $2.50 CAD. My question are as follows: 1. Will a cheap LED from Asia have a chance of burning down my PC? (Might sound stupid but it's a serious question; I know very little about LEDs except they look cool) 2. Does anyone with an Phantek Enthoo Pro Full Tower case know much many strips would work well? I'm thinking just one strip on the top will do, but the case is pretty big so maybe two on the sides instead would be better? 3. The screen on my case is pretty clear; will 5050 be too bright for it? Would a 3528 LED work better if there's no tint on the screen? Thanks!

I bought a plain old white Cablemod LED strip for my build just a couple months ago, and most of the white LEDs have turned an ugly shade of yellow, making the illumination in the case, while still functional, rather hideous, and I'm going to have to replace it. Wondering if anyone else has had bad experiences with these or did I just get a defective strip? Could it be because I bent it 90 degrees inward to go partially along the bottom and rear of my case? Hi guys, just wanna ask, is it possible to to MOD a RGB LED Strip to have HUE effect just like the NZXT Hue? i just saw someone did it with a cheap china RGB fan, not sure how he make it, but this came in my head... a HUE Strip?

Hello, I am trying to hook up an led receiver for an led strip in my computer, and because I don't want to have a cord coming out of my computer to a wall adapter, I want to hook up the receiver via molex. They make these but I would rather not have to drive down to my local computer store which is 1+ hours away. So I decided I could easily make my own by getting a dc plug that fits the plug, a molex input, and theoretically this should work because the yellow wire gives out 12v, also what the wall adapter gives out. So I got the molex conector and used a voltage meter to measure it and it gave out 36v!

Hello, When I dim my LED strips which I decided to do cause it's quite distracting to have them at 100% constantly it looks as if my CPU and case fan slow down a lot, I've taken the side panel off to confirm that it's not an illusion caused by the glass, the fans are connected to the mobo while the LED strip is molex powered, so how is this even possible? Hi, first post here. I need some help and thought you could give me a hand. I have 80 ws2812b LED's, each one is rated at 60mAH and 5v. That would be a total of 4800mAH or 4.8Amp if at full brightness. Right now I'm powering 55 of those leds with power coming from the molex connector of my EVGA Supernova P2 1000W PSU, and that pulls a total max of 3.3Amp. Is it safe to power all the 80 Leds from the 5v molex? Or is it dangerous and would put my PSU and my house on fire? Can I do it using a spare PSU that I have laying around instead (Corsair TX 650w v2)? I'm tired of searching on google without finding a concrete answer. Please help. Thanks in advance.

I've been looking at the 460x for awhile now and I've been wondering if it's three fan aesthetic would be ruined by an led strip or if one could even be mounted inside. Also if the NZXT kraken would fit?I'm trying to do a moderate rgb build so if not, what are some other cool rgb cases (besides the 805 infinity)

This guide will allow you to sync most individually addressable LED strip with motherboard RGB headers. Most RGB fans use individually addressable LEDs. I have only tested this with Corsair SP120 fans and WS2812 LED strip. However it should work just fine with other fans/LED strip, as long as you know the control protocol used by the LEDs in the fan. I know the HD120 fans are also compatible with this, as they use WS2812 LEDs. Before I start, I should say that this worked for me, it won't necessarily work for you and its your responsibility if you break stuff. If you don't own a multi meter, this project is probably not for you, as it requires a fair degree of electronics understanding, and a multimeter will be invaluable to make sure you have the circuit which steps down the voltage from the Aura header working correctly. You WILL break your micro controller if this circuit is not working correctly. Be warned, I have only tested this using Asus Aura RGB headers. Trying to use the exact same circuit with other RGB headers, without first verifying they output the same voltages as Aura headers, or adpting the circuit as required, you have a very real possibility of breaking something. If your lucky it will be your circuit/microcontroller. If not, at the very least your RGB header will be broken, possibly the entire Aura circuitry and maybe something more serious.

rgb Which is better: Deepcool RGB 330 or 350 Led Strip?
Multiversal posted a topic in Power Supplies
I have a Deepcool Dukase v2 white. No AIO coolers and no more card than an MSI 1050 Ti GamingX. So I have plenty of space left for illuminance. I am looking for a decent RGB LED Strip under $50 (~3200 INR). In India, the only available ones are Deepcool RGB 330, 350, NZXT Monocoloured strips, and a few other crappy strips on amazon which leaves me only Deepcool 330/350. 330 has adhesive sticker while the 350 has magnetic. Moreover 350 has two LED strips and 330 has 3. Moreover the remote with 350 is wayy better but 330 one is also compromisable. Which one is a good bang for the buck? The sp120 controller is an rgb controller nothing more as far as I understand. I would like to add a led strip to my corsair 570x without buying a separate controller and keep the simplicity and functionality of the buttons built into the case. While corsair sells their own strips and controllers specifically for this purpose, would the corsair strips interface with the sp120 controller if modified to fit, or splice the wires with a sp120 connector. Corsair has the proprietary connectors on the sp120's. Would the wiring be the same for the fan leds as well as the strip apart from the connector?

Hi there, so i bought some led strips a year ago, used them around my setup and i wanted to use them inside my pc. But something weird happens everytime i put them in. Before when i had my gt 640, my monitor would get a lot of horizontal lines. Upgraded to a 1060 to see if it would fix itself. While i see no horizontal lines, my monitors just rage quit and turn off and on until fully off. Computer still thankfully works, but gotta ask, why and how does my led strip do this? Also when i plug my led strips into power socket and i put maybe 17cm onto the case without turning on led strips, they light up dimmed. Got my led strips from a well known danish hardware store, don't know where my led strips are made from though. 2nd question: Does my led strips affect my wires around my setup? Specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tjqzFd Note: Don't have the cooler yet, but doubt that would have done anything. Note 2: Don't know if this is the correct place to talk about this topic. Thanks for reading, have a lovely day.

I have a lot of trouble getting my led strips to stick to the back of my monitor. I tried the 3M strip that was preapplied on the back of the LEDs and feels extremely sticky on skin,TESA and more TESA but they just always fall of dragged down by there own weight. I have no idea how to semi permanently attach them. I want to be able to remove them without any left over glue or marks if possible but I also want them to stay where I put them a week ago Please halp meh, I am not gud with sticky stuv

Hi, What I'm planning to do: Buy this one: RGB LED Strip 5M length:5 Meter But an IR control with only 16/20 colors? Nope! What I'm searching for: A cheap solution to control those LED's by USB. DIY? Not really a problem. Programm it? Not a problem, but a software with graphic interface would be nice. It would be best, if I don't have to upload program to a chip each time i want to change my light. Ideal Solution: A Controller (DIY or not) connected to my PC and a Software to control it. I searched about this already, and i didn't come up with a solution by now.

What is the maximum amperage a 12 volt pin from the molex can output ? i installed a 5m RGB led strip which feeds from the 12v molex pins the led strip needs 6Amps at full power (white color) but the white color is kind of yellowish and I think the molex outputs less than 6Amps I googled this but I saw variable answers the psu is cooler master 600w

I had a wraith prism cooler lying around. I decided to reuse the led strip inside the cooler to stick inside my case somewhere. When I disassembled the whole thing, I found that the controller for the RGB had 2 pins (positive and negative) which was going to the PWM connector of the FAN. I assumed that its purpose was to check whether the fan was connected or not. So I disconnected those from the fan and connected the positive cable to the 12V pin of the ARGB cable and the negative to the blue pin of the ARGB cable to hopefully fool the controller. In addition, I disconnected the RGB cable going to the fan (prism's fan is also RGB). After all this, I connected the ARGB to the motherboard to find that the led strip lights up in red, only in red. Also, the controller makes a loud whining sound. Am I missing something? Alternatively, is there a separate controller I can buy to connect the led strip (VCC, DIN, GND) to ARGB in the motherboard? PS: My knowledge in electronics is limited. High school level.

I need recommendations for an affordable ($40AUD<) RGB strip that's usb powered or comes with an AC adapter. I've seen some on Amazon but reviews state that theyre either not bright or that the controller is shit. There seem to be none which are affordable and of good quality. Please help!

I have a B450i-Gaming Plus AC, there are 2 RGB connectors near the top of the board, I have some generic 12V RGB LED strips that were originally meant to be used with a wall plug and controller box but If I plug it into the board it stays white no matter what I set the colour to. I also noticed the board always reports there is something plugged into the RGB headers even when nothing is plugged in. I tried both ports and both have the same issue.

hi ! first of all sorry for my bad English and my noob question. I'm not really a techie like I used to be. I got left behind with the tech stuff after windows xp was launched. got busy with other stuff. ? Anyway regarding the RGB headers. I have a gigabyte z370m d3h motherboard and it has one RGB header. without checking the manual I went out to buy a RGB fan (ID Cooling ZF12025) to go try it out. So when I got home and plugged the fan I can't seem to control the lighting effects with RGB Fusion. So I checked the manual about the rgb header it says led strip header. so I'm kinda confused now i thought RGB header was kinda universal like I can plug fan or rgb led strip. when I checked gigabyte website it says it only "RGB Fusion supports RGB LED strips in 7 colors " So my question is are there two or more kinds RGB headers ? or are they a universal thing? I also checked other motherboards like Z370 AORUS Ultra Gaming for quite an expensive board this one also have rgb led strip header but I dont see any rgb fan header.
