  1. Pimax Kickstarter: http://geni.us/8nwp1fB Wait... you can get an 8K VR HEADSET!? Well... sorta...
  2. Introducing the B-Tech Arctic computer case! At only 5.2 liters of internal volume, it's one of the smallest ITX cases with full-length GPU support on the market! (That's right, smaller than the RVZ03 or even the Sentry case!) The Arctic case achieves a stunningly accurate "console aesthetic" look thanks to it's glossy plastic exterior construction, ample vent holes, and clean, screw-free external design, including on the back and bottom! But just because your computer looks like a console doesn't mean it should perform like one! That's why Arctic supports full-length GPUs and comes standard with built-in liquid cooling! It even includes a built-in 1500W DC power supply (2x compact 750W AC bricks), with future battery-pack expansion planned! But it doesn't end there. The Artic isn't called "Arctic" for nothing. It's got built-in sub-zero cooling capable of handling over 550W of total system heat dissipation! That means your system could be cooled down to 0° C FREEZING even at LOAD! And if you don't want the extra power consumption and noise, you can simply swap the Arctic A/C Block in the loop out for the regular Radiator Block, thanks to our custom designed quick-swap fittings that allow detaching parts of the cooling loop without draining! Sign up for the mailing list here! For progress updates and to be notified when our Kickstarter Campaign goes live! But of course, you need photos! Here are some 3D renders. These are NOT proof of concept renders. They are taken using the real model, not a striped-down version missing internal structure or interconnects. The Arctic Case in Glacier White. The top intake is a custom designed ~100mm RGB 4-pin fan. The final design will also have a backlit logo on top. The case can be opened quickly and easily thanks to the innovative magnetic-latch system, which sends power and data for the LED illumination through magnetized contacts, making the case side-panels totally wire-free. Arctic Case in Cobalt Black: From the side, you can see the 360° addressable RGB LED ring. A non-slip rubber pad with an intricate pattern lines the bottom of the case to give it a two-tone look. From the front you can see 3 of the 8 individually controllable 4-pin exhaust fans. A/C units connected to the watercooling loop with a custom copper heatsink block are positioned behind these to achieve CPU/GPU temps BELOW ambient! And did I mention there's a flipping TURBO BUTTON!? You'll also notice there's no power button. That's because it's capacitive! To turn the system on, simply tap the left-front area of the case. Of course, you're probably also wondering how on earth we're controlling 10 independent 4-pin fans (including the pump) and over 70 zones of RGB lighting... Well, existing 4-pin fan splitters are not able to control fan speed independently or even report individual fan speed, leaving you with no way to ensure your fans/pumps are still working properly, not to mention they're way to big to fit in a case this small, so we decided to come up with our own solution. Introducing the Arctic Control Board! Able to control 12 independent 4, or even 3-pin fans with per-fan auto-config and per-fan RPM control. Plus, it has RGB lighting control, capacitive touch circuitry, A/C cooling control, case-open detect, and even front-panel IO! Front IO: 1x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.0 2x Reassignable HD Audio Jacks RGB Illuminated Capacitive Power Button w/ Adjustable Sensitivity User-Configurable Turbo Button (Mechanical MX Blue-like Switch, because why not) What's Included with the Case: The case. Obviously. Custom 1500W PSU (98.5% DC-side efficiency, not cheap!) w/ Dual (also custom) 750W AC Power Bricks. Pre-assembled copper CPU & GPU water loop. Universal CPU waterblock. Dual thermoelectric A/C radiator units. 8x 60mm side fans, 1x slim ~100mm RGB intake fan. 64 pixel 360° addressable LED ring. Dual-channel smart RGB controller & 12-channel 3/4-pin PWM driver with per-fan RPM feedback. And, if you don't want to build a system yourself, pre-built configurations featuring delided 7th-gen Intel i7 CPUs, ASRock Z270 Motherboards, NVMe SSD Storage, and watercooled NVIDIA 1060, 1070 Ti, or 1080 Ti GPUs will also be available, starting at only $920! We already designed and tested PCBs, prototyped proof-of-concepts, and part-fit tested with cardboard, foamboard, etc. But we're not there yet! Here's what still needs to happen: Plastic case prototype, More part-fit testing. Refining pressure-fit and screw hole sizes based on material properties. Kickstarter video! Building an epic system in the thing! Once we've done all that, we can launch the campaign to gather funds for entering production! Current estimated launch date: Mid-February, 2018. Sign up for the mailing list here! For progress updates and to be notified when our Kickstarter Campaign goes live! B-Tech Arctic. Compact Liquid-Cooling for the Masses!
  3. So, it's a little bit grey as to who has control over the use and sale of the HALO keyswitches based on an article on Tom's Hardware, where basically the Input Club is in a dispute with Massdrop on being able to use the Halo switches on their latest keyboards being offered on Kickstarter. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/massdrop-input-club-halo-switches,35468.html This morning, September 15, Massdrop posted an official response, which reads in part: Basically, Massdrop is saying that Input Club can only sell key switches outside of Massdrop as replacement parts, standalone switches or from the Input Club's website. What makes this interesting is that I would presume that the Input Club would eventually make any Kickstarter boards available through their website and therefore be meeting the sale from Input Club site... Sounds like both sides could have an argument on this and maybe they just need a mediator.
  4. All Controller

I'm not sure where to put this exactly. But this is the All Controller. It's being touted as "the controller that connects to everything" and it's been a project of over 2 years now. The way I learned about this is through a YouTube user by the name of ReRez. He's a gaming youtuber who does reviews on primarily older consoles, games, and controllers. And through YouTube, he was able to get in touch with a group trying to build a custom controller that works with everything. The team brought him on and made revisions to the controller to make it a truly impressive thing. Pretty much the only reason why I'm making this topic is because I did a quick search here and no one has talked about this yet. That, and there are working models of this controller, just to show that it really exists. Now, the rest of this should be taken cautiously. It's now been taken to Kickstarter. Here is the link to the campaign. Here's the thing though, they have made sure to put in the capitol, time and effort to make sure this can be realistically done. There are at least half dozen working models that they have sent to other youtubers to review/give a first look at. I even just watched a livestream from ReRez, showing off how the controller works to set up profiles, to change the drivers to the system/mobile OS/Desktop OS that you're playing on, and even how it works on the Nintendo Switch. With all the questions that I had based off those functions, I can confidentially form an opinion at least: I'm glad someone finally did this. The Kickstarter launched August 1st as an All or nothing campaign. So if it doesn't get funded, no one loses their money. but it got funded in two days. Its initial goal was CA$ 75,000, and it's currently sitting at CA$ 190k with 32 days left. Shane (ReRez) himself is answering most of the questions being asked on the Kickstarter. Now, I have to admit that I really don't have much experience with Kickstarter, aside from the time I backed Mighty Number 9 (we all know how that went). All I can say though, is that I will be backing this myself, and I just wanted to spread the word to see what other people were thinking about it as well. Hopefully it won't end on KickFarted lol.
  5. disappointing development from jide going full enterprise and refunding. was hoping for another nvidia tv option that's cheaper, really liked there os design We launched our first Kickstarter in 2014 with the mission to unlock the power of Android in a two-in-one tablet. From that initial concept, we introduced the world’s first true Android PC with Remix Mini. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved with Remix OS and the response it’s garnered from around the world. But more importantly, we couldn’t have done it without the Kickstarter community. Over the past year, we received an increasing number of inquiries from enterprises in various industries, and began helping them build great tools for their organizations by leveraging Jide software and hardware. We see huge potential in how Jide can revolutionize the way these businesses operate. And given our existing resources, we decided now to focus our company efforts solely on the enterprise space moving forward. We’ll be restructuring our entire approach to Remix OS and transitioning away from consumer products. As a result, development on all existing products such as Remix OS for PC as well as products in our pipeline such as Remix IO and IO+ will be discontinued. Full refunds will be issued to ALL BACKERS via Kickstarter for both Remix IO and Remix IO+. In addition any purchases made via our online store that has remained unfulfilled will also be fully refunded. This requires no action from you as we will begin issuing refunds starting August 15th. Note: It may take ten business days for the refund to appear on a backer's credit or debit card statement. If the initial refund attempt is unsuccessful, we will ensure all refunds are successfully processed. Once a refund has been successfully processed, you will receive an email from Kickstarter indicating the amount of the refund and the payment source refunded. We’d like to take this moment to thank our incredible community, who’ve joined us on this journey in the last three years to help us build Remix OS. We very much believe that the future of computing is with Android and we're excited for the role Jide will play in this amazing ecosystem. 6. ORA Headphones Now On Kickstarter

Apologies if this topic has been covered, I did do a quick search of the site and didn't see anything by name. I recently happened upon a couple different articles ( VentureBeat and Digital Trends ) covering a new set of headphones on Kickstarter by a group calling themselves ORA. The primary innovation is that they say they've figured out a way to create drivers out of an "over 95%" graphene solution, resulting in a material that is exceptionally stiff and lightweight, allowing for higher quality while reducing the power necessary to drive the material as compared to heavier (they mostly compare it to mylar) materials. Now I'm not one to believe everything I see on kickstarter projects, but the page has a frankly impressive amount of technical data, as well as testimonials from a number of noteworthy experts (I honestly don't follow experts in the sound engineering field, so I can't vouch for how 'legit' they are), including an approval from Gustavo Dudamel - they even have pairs of these headphones signed by him at the highest tier. TL;DR - they seem honestly pretty impressive if they do what they say they'll do, and it was enough for me to buy in at the '50% off' level while it was still around. I'm not really here to boost hype or anything, I'm more interested in discussion. I'm just starting to get into the audiophile scene and these will really be my first set of high-end headphones not meant for "gamers" (a qualifier I'm rapidly getting tired of hearing). I'd love to hear from some of the more knowledgeable people about the technical specs, and if they really seem like an amazing product, I figured it couldn't hurt to get them a bit more visibility. Kickstarter page: "ORA: The World's First Graphene Headphones"
  7. Gonna keep this one brief. The Z (winner of a CES 2017 innovation award) is a gaming mouse made by Swiftpoint, the company that made the Swiftpoint GT (that got a CES 2015 innovation award). The idea for the gaming mouse is actually pretty simple. Lots of buttons for more digits than your thumb whilst also giving pseudo joystick controls and then marketing it to everybody who works or games on a PC. (Image below) Swiftpoint just released a statement saying, "you should have a package in your hands by this time next week at the latest" to their backers. Priced at $229 (I assume USD) but that's not all! The mouse comes with both rgb lighting and an oled screen. Link: http://www.swiftpoint.com/ https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/granto/the-z/rewards P.s. this is my first proper journalistic post so sorry in advance for any shortcomings.
  8. Source: http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/8160/calyos-nsg-s0-100-silent-fanless-gaming-pc-review/index.html I haven't seen a review of this anywhere else, I assume Linus is working on something. For those wondering this seems to be a new design from the one that Linus reviewed, the footprint looks to have been reduced and the PSU mount integrated into the case. For now here's a quick summary of the TweakTown review: n.b. The config tested is slightly out of date compared to the Kickstarter Specs as tested: i7 6700K (stock) MSI Z170X SLI Plus motherboard GTX 1080 (stock) 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz TridentZ (stock 2133MHz) 250GB Samsung 850 EVO No mention of PSU Performance: Performs like you'd expect a 6700K and a 1080 system to perform. No throttling even under Intel Burn Test and Furmark combined load. Thermals (What matters): Oddities: Thoughts: Looks promising. This is apparently a Kickstarter product kit; it can be bought either configured or just as a chassis. The render looks pretty slick compared to the very prototype-y unit reviewed. Euro 479 Super Early Bird - Case only Euro 1799 for the cheapest config with i3-7100 and GTX 1060
  9. TL:DR Technology based Crowd Funding is mostly a scam these days. Link to the reddit thread Link to relevant YouTube video I got bored browsing /r/videos. When the title "6 Major Futuristic Tech You Can Buy Now!" caught my attention. Let me save you some time. Not only is there no new tech, you can't buy any of it. It's all indiegogo campaigns. Some of it's terrible, some of it is just flat out scams. Why did I spend my evening on this? Because someone on the internet was Wrong. Figured i'd post it here, in case Linus ever decides to revive Kickfarted. Here's some free ammunition. OK, let's rain on this parade. First thing: Hayo. It's an "augmented reality switch device" Which is to say, It's an xbox kinect. It appears to be using a couple cameras to read depth, and responds to preprogrammed commands. Things like "Virtual buttons" Touch a spot on your coffee table, your lights turn on. Doesn't seem like you can buy it right now, video makes it sound like a kickstarter. Even if you could, there's no way this thing works nearly as well as advertised. First, you have occlusion as a problem. It can't see through you, and therefor can't see you "press a virtual button" if you or something else is in the way. Next, you'd have massive false positives, a virtual button on your coffee table would get set off accidentally by putting any object there. That's assuming the depth perception on this thing would even be good enough, and wouldn't just freak out every time any object passed in front of the target area. While they don't state it directly, the video implies gesture control. Good luck with those tiny cameras having enough resolution to register gestures, the software to recognize them, and the parsing to filter out people who talk with their hands. Item 1: Hayo, Verdict, NO NEW TECH. Not even available for purchase. Definitely won't integrate with all the services they claim. Second thing: Rocketbook Everlast. An erasable notebook with cloud integration. Write some stuff in it, scan it with their app, it gets uploaded to your app of choice, book is erasable. Hrm. Well, this is really two things, so we'll tackle them separately. It's an app that scans your notebook pages, and notebook pages that are erasable. The app is, well, let's be real it's nothing special. It's a cool idea, Write some stuff down and scan it, upload it to whatever app you use to take notes. But, wait, you're using an app to manage your notes. Why don't you just write it in that app? The argument of, well I just needed to jot it down quickly on this napkin, doesn't work, because you need to use special pages with QR codes. If there was say, a reusable QR code sticker or something I could see this being useful, but it just adds extra steps to taking notes. Next, the notebook itself. I liked the "Any pen from the Pilot FriXion line", because it's not using proprietary "You have to buy them from us" pens. Then I looked up what the Pilot FriXion line of pens is, their standard erasable pens. Admittedly, the "paper" for the pages is some fancy material that allows the ink to be washed off with water, instead of an eraser, saving a small amount of work, I guess? But, don't we write in pen because we Don't want things to be erased? That aside, they claim the fancy material these pages are made from feel the same as paper for writing purposes. I seriously doubt anything with low enough friction for the ink to be wiped off would feel the same, but I'll have to take their word. What I can speculate on is the durability of those pages. No way a ballpoint pen doesn't leave damage to those pages after repeated use. They claim "Thousands" of uses, but that's just not possible. Especially when you're talking about running a Metal ballpoint pen, on a Polyester page. Item 2: Rocketbook Everlast: Page material is new, the app offers no new tech. Product probably works as advertised but I have serious doubts about longevity, and no idea what use case this has. Not bad. Third thing: uArm swift/pro. An open source robot arm, aimed at hobbyists and educational use. Regular arm does 500g and 5mm accuracy, pro version does 500g and 0.2mm accuracy. Indiegogo, NOT AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. Robot arms aren't new. Open source, not new. However, something like this for small scale automation or projects is. Unfortunately, there have been a lot of these "Home Robotics Kits" hitting the market in the last two years. They all suffer from Terrible, Horrible, Unusable programming languages, buggy software, and lacking support. I do like that they've included advanced programming options for people that don't want to use the "Graphical programming interface". The accuracy on the arms is terrible. Even the pro version. 0.2mm doesn't sound like a lot, but it adds up when each action performed can alter where the next action happens by 0.2mm. 500g is a lot of weight for something that small with that type of armature, I'd expect a lot of Flex in that arm, throwing precision off even further. It's an expensive toy that children won't play with, and any adult capable programming it probably wouldn't use. If you had the required skills to program and use something like this, doing it with an arduino would be much more efficient, offer better expandability, and a larger and existing community for support. Item 3: uArm swift/pro. No new tech, maybe new in the sense that it's available to consumers, except that anyone who could actually use this would be able to build one themselves from scratch. NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE, Indiegogo campaign. Fourth thing: Fingbox. It's a network monitoring and security....box. Another indiegogo. Well, their first claim is bullshit right out the door. They claim you can just plug it into your router, and that's all. OK, well let's assume it also needs to be plugged in, despite the prototype on screen not having a power cable. The more I think about this the more offended I get that people are giving them money. First, there's no way it can do half of what it claims. Monitoring individual devices and and restricting access. No. Period, it can't. At least not in the way they've suggest it be installed. Even if this thing could talk to the router, and they'd have to make it compatible with thousands of routers, it would take a lot of setup, way more than someone who needs a device like this could do. Anyone who could get a device like this working in the way they've demonstrated it, wouldn't need a device like to police their network. Next, their entire claim of "free forever" "no subscription". Yeah, bullshit. Even if this thing could do what it claims, which it can't, it needs to send notifications to your devices. Now it's possible to do this over WiFi, even if I've never seen an app actually implement it properly. But here's the thing, it would Only work over WiFi, which means I wouldn't be able to detect intruders on my network, or monitor the PS4's use while I'm away from home, completely defeating the point of existing since I can walk into the damn living room and see whether or not the PS4's in use. If instead it's communicating over the internet, then your notifications are going through their servers. Which means they can, at any point, decide to start charging for this service. It certainly won't be "Free Forever" because they'll either decide to start charging, or go out of business, and then it all stops working anyway. Item 4: Fingbox. No new tech at all, Cannot possibly do what is advertised, Even if it did work anyone capable of installing it wouldn't need it, but that's okay because it's NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE. Fifth thing: NextVPU Angel Eye Glasses. It's glasses that help the blind get around by warning them of obstacles, and providing directions. Oh man, this is such a scam it's funny. We can break this down into two things, a bluetooth headset, and the actual Augmented Reality stuff. It's a bluetooth headset. It's not new. The prototype actually looks like it's hooked up with a cable to an unseen device, presumably a smartphone or small computer. It's relaying directions to a visually impaired person. Yeah, unless they intend to remap the entire world, it's just pulling walking directions from google maps or some other existing map source. Nothing new here, and kind of useless to someone who can't see since GPS only puts you within 15 meters on a good day. Next, the augmented reality stuff. It's all nonsense, is my opinion. We see it Claim to be able to do the following: Determine what denomination of currency is held in front of it, Detect stairs going up or down, and warn users of red lights, and read a menu. OK, Denomination of currency, given good lighting, I can see this working, I don't know about chinese money like in the video, however Canadian money has indentations specifically for this purpose, rendering this feature worthless. Detecting stairs, and red lights. Oh wow, NO WAY. Firstly, the camera has no way to determine Which red light source is a red light. After that, the problems involved in detecting stairs are ludicrous, I don't see any way for it to do that with the limited cameras on board. But that's ignoring the largest factor, Liability. Even if it could, they couldn't sell it with that feature, no company would insure them for the kind of liability that happens when your glasses tell a blind person it's okay to walk into traffic. The problem there really comes when the camera fails to detect a red light. Such nonsense. Item 5: NextVPU Angel Eye Glasses, No new tech, could only do about half what they claim, doesn't solve any problem that a bluetooth headset and a smartphone together haven't solved. NOT AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE (And probably never will be thanks to glaring liability issues) Last thing: Livia. An electrical device to reduce menstrual pain. On indiegogo. Disclosure, I don't have lady bits, and therefor only have limited knowledge. I do however not need to be a lady to point out some obvious problems. Funny ad though. I can't believe it's 1000% funded. OK, so it uses two electrical pads, hooked up to a colourful unit. The pads are placed on the lower abdomen, and claim to reduce pain by "blocking the pain signals between your brain and your lady bits". First, No. No it doesn't. If it was, there'd be all sorts of fun side effects like PARALYSIS OF THE LADY BITS. Even then, if we could block pain this way, the medical field would be using it instead of anesthetic. It's clearly an electrical muscle stimulator. Now, it's possible that controlled electric stimulation of muscles could ease cramping. However this is where my knowledge ends, not ever having had to experience this sort of cramping. I do however know the last time I was hooked up to something like this, my muscles seized immediately, and the whole experience was for me rather unpleasant. Could this device Uncramp muscles? I don't know. But it certainly doesn't do what it claims by "blocking pain signals", so I have a hard time believing it works at all. Item 6: Livia, Doesn't do what it claims, whether it works at All I can't be certain, but it's NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE. TL:DR Technology based Crowd Funding is mostly a scam these days.
  10. Anyone know of a good minimal, clean case that is in a mATX/mITX form factor. The only thing that I think really looks nice is the NZXT s340 but it is too big unfortunately. The bitfenix pandora looks nice but I don't think I would get along with a brushed aluminium finish. Does anyone know of a hefty, anodised aluminium case that is minimal also? I did like the Dune Case but the kickstarter was unsuccessful! Any answers are greatly appreciated. Please see the picture of the Dune Case if you are unfamiliar with it.

  12. Hello LTT community, First, apologies if this is in the wrong forum as it is my first post and I am still getting used to the LTT ways. Secondly, onto the product. I was casually scrolling through my emails when something caught my eye an email with both $4 and linux in the title. I instantly clicked. It turns out it's quite a nifty little router that can be put pretty much anywhere! There's even a specific perk that contains a couple of wires and things to connect your VoCore to an ethernet socket in order to turn it into a working wifi hotspot as well as an ethernet socket. Take a look at it here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/vocore2-4-coin-sized-linux-computer-with-wifi#/ Benji
  13. Have you seen the new mouse with shit tone of functions? The Z Kickstarter : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/granto/the-z I just pledged, after buying K65RGB - now it's time to say goodbye to G600 - Z, here I come Any comments will be apriciated, maybe you'd have some insights about what one can do with it. I'm not affilaite with the inventor, just an intereseted user from Poland
  14. AMALGAM BOARD GAME

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this... But it is a PC game so... Here is is! Amalgam Board Game Simplexity Game Studio (Read below for screenshots) Our goal is to achieve complexity through simplicity…ironic right? We think many video games, and even board games, tend to make things so complicated in order to make things more interesting and keep players from moving on to a new game. At Simplexity Game Studio, we believe that we can create a fun and lasting game with a simple yet refined set of rules and gameplay. We believe that the greatness of a game isn’t determined by the amount of things involved in the game, but the quality and thought put into what IS in the game. With Amalgam, we tried to create a simple design, with as small a learning curve as possible, and in return giving the players endless strategies and letting their mind and creativity do the rest of the work. We like to (although a bit of a bold statement) think of Amalgam as the ‘Modern Chess’. Of course, we will be ecstatic if Amalgam becomes one tenth as popular as chess, but we are using Chess’ “complexity through simplicity” as our role model.Want to see screenshots and more info?Follow our twitter! https://twitter.com/GameAmalgamLike our Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/AmalgamBoardGame/Visit our website! http://www.amalgamboardgame.com/Gameplay 100% SkillNo luck involved here. No matter what the outcome, win or lose, it’s a reflection of your performance. We want this to be a competitive game that focuses on you and your game-play choices.Unique and OriginalWe like to think that our game is different than any other game out there. Our goal is not to simply pull from other game ideas, but to create something original and progressive.Interactive PiecesAlthough this is a board game, each piece should feel alive and interactive. We hope to bring the game to life instead of having a traditional (static) board game feel. Compelling StoryA storyline isn’t one of our main goals for Amalgam, but we still plan on incorporating an intriguing and compelling story into the game. By creating a story we hope to bring more life into our characters, and in turn make for a more exciting experience. Thanks for checking us out! Ask us questions and follow us for updates. We plan to start a Kickstarter then launch on Steam! Thank you! If this is the wrong place for this please tell me and I will remove it right away!
  15. Kickstarter : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1229573443/das-keyboard-5q-the-cloud-connected-keyboard It has been fully funded on the first day. I own the Das Keyboard S Ultimate (the blank keycaps one) with Cherry MX Blue switches (watch old LTT reviews down here) and it works great, solid build quality. But from their first product series, they want to show simplicity, without any gimmicks like other keyboard manufacturer. In next series (Das Keyboard 4) they add more functionality which is a media control. But with this product, I don't think I want to buy it. I prefer simple keyboard rather than full RGB light all over my keyboard, and I don't think color light notification in your keyboard will help you more productive. Any thoughts? Here is Linus's old review for Das Keyboard :
  16. I just noticed an ad for the UDOO X86 Kickstarter page. They claim this $89 board can drive 3, 4K displays simultaneously with an Intel quad core at 2 - 2.24GHz, and 4 - 8 GB of ram. Not sure how much I trust that claim. From the description it sounds like an Atom x5 or x7. Part of me would like to see Linus back the Kickstarter so we can see how the final product turns out when/if it comes out. What are your thoughts?
  17. I can understand why Paypal did this, crowdfunds are a risky investment and since you aren't promised a product, Paypal shouldn't try to refund it in the first place. It would be a waste of resources and would be inconvenient to the customers who were actually scammed and want to get a refund. As the article stated: "This is an inherent – but often overlooked – part of crowdfunding: you invest money in a project, not a product. So if the project fails, you can easily lose your money.". I couldn't agree more. That's why I don't invest big sums of money into Kickstarter, I would rather have a 100% guarantee that I get the product by buying it when its released. Source: http://www.androidauthority.com/paypal-payment-protection-crowdfunding-691452/ Do you invest in crowdfunding, and do you think that Paypal's decision is reasonable?
  18. As the title says, Tmouse kickstarter aswome or plain dumb? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1494289936/tmouse-worlds-first-deformable-mouse some part of me thinks yeah cool. but on the other hand, why did no one do this before if its so ergonomic?
  19. Amazon link if you absolutely MUST have one of these: http://geni.us/gFp Have you been burned by a crappy crowd funded product? So have we.
  20. Looks interesting. Costs a pretty penny though. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kimeraindustries/cerberus-by-kimera-industries-the-18l-matx-us-made
  21. So yeah, was browsing the Kickstarter, found this (also available in black): Basically a mini-ITX case that obviously looks like a trash can Mac Pro. SFX PSU, a graphics card up to 185 mm long and two 2.5" drives. There's no way Apple is not suing them, IMO. Although I guess half the charm of Apple system is the shared heatsink for all the components which this does not posess... What do you think about it guys? Not putting out a DP connector seems like a considerable issue to me...
  22. I'm developing a game!

Hey everyone, I’m doing some research to gauge the interest in an upcoming game I’m developing. The game is a throwback to the browser MMO strategy games I use to play when I was younger. After getting back into the genre earlier this year by playing Arch Battle, I was left a bit underwhelmed. I wanted something with a bit more depth and a UI that holds up to today’s standards of web design. So that brings me to where I am now. I’m pumping a lot of my free time to code this game and I just want to ensure when it launches there will be a large enough user base to keep the game alive. I do actually have a Kickstarter going which will help out a lot if it gets funded - [link removed] - but whether the campaign is successful or not I am going to finish the game. I hope this doesn’t come across as an ad for my Kickstarter because this is truly a passion project that I am making as much for myself to play as to hopefully create a successful game. Thanks guys! Heres a description of what the game will be: What is Fleet Wars? Fleet Wars is a browser based massively multiplayer turn based strategy game. The game is primarily text based, but will be packed full of beautiful 3D art and pre-rendered animations. The aim of the game is to rise up the rankings and become the most powerful empire in the universe. You will achieve your ranking by exploring, acquiring new planets and exploiting their resources to grow your population and drive your need to create the most powerful ships with the most advanced technologies. You will research your way through the tech tree to unlock the most powerful weapons and gain the knowledge to build ship classes like Dreadnoughts and the Star Destroyer. Once you have your first fleet, attack an opponent and fight for your place at the top of the leader board. Monetisation Model: Fleet Wars is free to play with nothing locked behind a paywall. The websites monetisation will be primarily driven by non-intrusive ads. In addition to this there will be a subscription model (advanced membership) which will remove the ads from all pages and unlock additional cosmetic customisation options. What the Game Will Include: Fleet Wars will forever be an evolving game. New features will constantly be added and balancing the game will be a top priority. Below is a list of the features that will be included in the initial release of the game. - Expeditions to find new planets - Planet Management - Economy Management - Design your own Ship - Commander leveling - Create a fleet of ships for each Commander - Research Tech Tree - Tech Tree will consist of passive bonuses, new weapons and new ship classes - Guilds - Declare War on other Guilds - Guild Rankings - Attack other players and NPC's - Text summary of how the battle played out - Steal other players Technologies - Raid other players planets - Destroy or steal other players planets
  23. Source: http://www.theverge.com/2015/11/18/9758214/coolest-cooler-amazon-kickstater-shipping-production-delay Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ryangrepper/coolest-cooler-21st-century-cooler-thats-actually The concept of the Coolest cooler was supposed to be a cooler that did everything for you, but it looks like some backers are furious due to the countless number of delays The worst part is that some backers won't get their coolers at the given release date, and some backers are questioning the company's move to sell the cooler on Amazon I'm really wondering how the company will respond after the many times they failed to deliver to their contributors
  24. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgkbhjXTbOE Source: http://arstechnica.com/business/2015/11/after-raising-record-3-4m-on-kickstarter-uk-drone-startup-collapses/ The whole point of this issue is a successful kickstarter campaign ending in a devastating collapse The company promised a lot of drones to consumers and contributors, but they failed to ship almost all of the promised units I think that there should really be a better platform for creators to get funds, but the contributors should also have a better idea of what the company is getting into I'm not sure how the company can solve this problem, or address the problems to those who have contributed to their huge project which garnered so much attention
  25. Power Bank with AC outlets

I stumbled upon this Kickstarter campagin: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1183837546/boxtiox-no-power-no-problem and was wondering what you guys think of this. I love the idea of being able to charge my laptop or power a fan, or even modem and router during a power outage or when camping. This is the first thing other than goal zero (which is horribly overpriced) that I have seen with AC outlets and USB. I'm thinking about backing this project. What do you guys think?
