Hi, im about to upgrade my motherboard, I've read online that I'll probably have to do a clean install of windows to get rid of the old motherboard drivers. Should I do the reset before or after I install the new motherboard or does it really matter?

if i download ,say 20 apps, every time i change a laptop,pc or just reset it, I'd like that all my apps (and hopefully settings) can be easily downloaded like ninite but a more diverse library as well as easy to use. is there some process, feature or application where i can list all my preferred apps and just click install. TLDR : how to make a personal ninite like installer composed of all apps i want.

So After stupid/crazy amount of fiddling, I finally managed to attach the brackets to the block. But, as I try and maneuver the block, the lines come in contact with the fan. So, my issue/concern is that should flip the cooler itself 180 so the lines come from the bottom of the case? Aaannnd A tiny fray/break from outside the line, is that a red flag? Can it be fixed? Or will it be ok? P.S. I did NOT apply paste yet, so there's still time.

I have a USB that I have Ubuntu on, however, when trying to install the USB does not appear in the partition's, (should be sdb1 but only sda shows) It shows /dev/sda/ and all the partition's on it. But it does not show the sdb, however, since I am using the USB as the boot for Ubuntu, I get access denied whenever I try to add it to the partition's (Which is understandable) Therefore, I would like to know how I would be able to install Ubuntu from inside Windows itself. If it's possible that is. Thanks.

Hey guys, more issues it seems. So I've recently put (most of) my PC together (all that's left out is the graphics card) and I'm installing Windows 7 on it. Or so I THOUGHT. So I watched the NCIX Tech Tips video walkthrough on how to install Windows 7 through a bootable USB drive. And I followed the video instructions to the PIXEL. And then I went into my UEFI panel and set its boot order as primary, so my PC recognised the USB drive. But whenever I get through to the panel where I select the drive I want to install from, the drive is nowhere to be seen and I'm clueless as to why. Can someone please give me a hand with this?

Hi, I recently bought a physical copy of Battlefield 1 as in the disc. When I launch the installer, a window pops up saying click continue, and when I do that the window closes and nothing happens. I'm really confused on why this is happening and at the same time really keen on playing so can someone please help me.

Hey guys, I was hoping you could give me some help. I want to upgrade someone's pc to Windows 10 (using the free accessibility upgrade) but there's one problem, The drive in the system is some weird ~180GB disk, but it was fragmented in a 60GB and 120GB part. Windows 7 is on the 60GB part but it's filling up real bad, is there any way to merge the drives together and put windows 8 on the complete 180GB or is there a way where I can put in a new 1 or 2TB HDD without me having the product key for windows 7?

I found a computer sitting in my relative's closet that they knew nothing about. I hooked it up to a monitor and plugged it in and it works fine, but there is a password and they don't know what it is. They said it's been sitting in the closet for probably 3 years. They didn't even know they had it, but they told me to take it and use it. There is a Windows 7 Home Premium sticker with the product key on it. My question is, if I buy a Windows 7 Home Premium disc off Ebay can I just put it in the computer and will it prompt me to install it and reset the computer? Also, how can I figure out if the computer is 32 or 64 bit? So, to sum this up, I don't know the computer password, can I buy a Windows 7 Home Premium disc off Ebay and how would I go about installing it? Thanks so much.

Please help me. My configuration: Core i5 3470 Motherboard : H61mK Ram: 8GB Ddr3 1333mhz Psu: Goldenfield 500w Gpu: msi r9 270x 2GB gddr5 I used gt 710 previously I sold it and bought this gpu 2nd and it was running fine on my friend's computer. I used to run windows 7 and when I downloaded driver from msi for same model and windows 7 64bit it asks for restart. After restarting it shows blackscreen, numlock, capslock nothing works ( no light turned on when I pressed). I downloaded auto detect version to install driver but still same happened. Then I installed windows 10 . It automatically installed the driver and worked for like 10 secs and black screen again. What should I do? I tried updating bios did not fixed the problem.

Hello everyone, I was wondering whether I could install a 2,5" SSD in the harddrive bay on the bottom left of image1. There is no slot like you can see in image2. Is there any other way to install a 2,5" SSD, e.g. via cable or is my only option upgrading the storage by installing a higher capacity NVMe SSD? The laptop model is a HP Pavilion 15-CK... with i5 8250u, SSD 256GB, MX150, 8GB 2400 DDR Thanks.

My specs: Intel I-7700K Asus X270E Motherboard (newest Bios version) Samsung 970 EVO (on which I want to install windows) GTX 1080TI Be quiet power zone 750W PSU A few day ago I wanted to reinstall windows on a new drive (Samsiung 970EVO) on my PC. This is nothing new to me. But I ran into problems. I already sah a few threads talking about it but nothing helped. My problem is that when i go through the windows setup procedure it always returns back to the bios like there is no windows on the drive(I always remove the USB at the 10 second restart warning). I tested with another drive that the problem isn't one with the installation media or the pc specs it works perfectly with a (samsung 860 evo). I already tried installing older windows builds with rufus using the two ways on rufus (with and without CSM), I also used the windows own creation media for the stick. I tried a lot with my CSM option and the secure boot opions. So my question is what do I need to set in the BIOS that I can use my M.2 as a boot drive I am really at the end of my expretice, and also slowly getting annoyed after trying for 5 hours over 3 eavenings. Also under the boot drives after the restart there is no partition with UEFI at the start.

I'm a Sys Admin Intern for my company and some coworkers and I were arguing on whether there is a difference between: Logging in as Local Admin > Installing a program or Logging in as Standard User > Installing a program (then it asks for admin password) If anyone knows that breakdown of what actually happens or if there is a difference it would be appreciated! From my understanding, reguardless of what user profile you install a program on, it is installed on the hidden built-in Administrator user profile. Any clarification?

Hey guys, I would like to install Microsoft Office Pro plus on my HDD (D:) and not on my SSD (C:), but the only way to install it is to run a .exe file that doesn't ask for a directory or anything else. It downloads Office by itself and runs theinstallation without asking. Can you tell me how to install it on D:?? I tried to just put the file on D: and run the installation but that doesn't work.

Hey guys, I need your help if possible. My pc has 2 HDD's and now a SSD inside. On one of the HDD's there is still Windows 10 installed. I want to install my System now on the new SSD and while doing this I always get an error code: 0x8007025D Message is like "A file is missing and Windows can not be installed" The file is the original windows.iso and I installed it on a virtual machine recently, so this can't be the issue. I want to install from a USB stick that I made bootable with "Universal USB Installer 1.9.8.0". After installing Windows on the SSD, I want to delete and clear my HDD where Windows is installed right now. What I've done before: Using MdSched to see if there is any problem with my ram. I'd be very thankful if you can help me installing my first SSD. :-)

Hey guys I have installed my OS on a SSD and have another HDD in my computer where I want to install random programs on it. It is detected and I can store stuff on it, but my question is now can I install programs without doing anything before on it? I mean is there any Windows installation on this HDD necessary before or can I create a folder called "programs" and install them in this folder? Thank you in advance!

hey every one, i got a small problem with a dual boot to explain it easy i just can not get ubuntu and windows to work on a single drive now lets explain what i all dit , so you can see what went wrong first of all , i use a M.2 NVME drive ( crusial 1TB , the P1 ) i use a usb stick with E2B (Easy To Boot, just like rufus only better ) that let me choose a iso that is located on the usb, it use a grub boot loader and some other software to make a easy boot usb drive so i first install windows 10 on the fresh disk i splitted up the disk in 2 parts , each 500Gb ( 2 parts in total) windows for some reason feels that it need to take the second partition as boot loader ... every time after windows is installed , then i update windows and after a couple reboots then i start over with ubuntu ( zorin ) now the problem starts it says that it found a windows installation and want to install it next to it ... but it only finds the 500gb part of windows if i install it on there , then the second partition is lost ... as i wanted to install it on there after successful install , only windows boot up .. so final result is only 1 partition is in use and i lost 50% of my capacity and linux does not even boot up (only windows loader ) after using the boot loader command in linux i got it partial working , but the boot loader program in windows messed up the windows boot ... so restart and just use the full drive then ? no partitions made start windows , clean the drives , select the non allocated space and windows create again a own boot partition ( boot loader ) now when i want to install linux , i got again the option to install it next to windows ... except that it does not find any windows installations except for the usb disk ... that contains only the windows iso ... manual assigning the partitions fot the linux install breaks my windows install i tried this in both uefi mode and legacy mode so far i can not get it working maybe i should start with linux first and put windows over it ?? or is windows 10 that much changed from windows 7 or xp so dual boot does not work that nice anymore as in the old days ? does any one got a solution how i can get this dual boot work on 2 separate partitions and keep 50% of the drive for each operating system ? Thank you Greets From Powerchaos ps: for the users who want to know what specs this pc has ( in case you think that stuff is wrong ? ) I3-7100 Asus Prime B-250 Pro ( Bios 1205) Crusial P1 (M.2)
