Budget (including currency): 350-400€ (with a bit of leeway Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly Photoshop and Illustrator (Adobe Suite) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Current Build CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M Gaming (F41 BIOS) RAM: DDR4 2x8GB 2133 MT/s (models unknown, most likely G.Skill) GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti I am upgrading this system for a friend of mine, but I am not well-versed with Photoshop and Illustrator. The problems experienced are very slow loads and also major lags while using the programs - essentially making them unusable. My idea would have been to definitely upgrade the CPU and the RAM to something like the Ryzen 7 5700 (X) and 32GB of at least 3200 MT/s RAM. IIRC, GPU isn't the biggest deciding factor when using the mentioned programs, am I correct? Would be interesting to hear other suggestions from people that also work with the programs

I need to create a Timeline video of Historical events with images & text that move. I used this technique earlier but I think its too much now. So, I tried to create a very long horizontal vector on Illustrator and I thought that I'll simply Import this in Premiere Pro and give a horizontal motion and video done. Now while creating the vector, I simply extend the artboard horizontally i.e N x 1080 (Width x fixed Height) for 1080p video. Now vector canvas is out of bounds horizontally and I can't create anything horizontally on that same artboard. Ofcourse, this doesn't sound like an ideal method for very long horizontal motion video but I would save huge amount of time instead of animating every single item on Premiere Pro. What can I do to make such video?

I found a really old version of Adobe Illustrator from 2000. It's compatible with both Windows 9x and Windows NT 4.0 and 2000. Needs an Intel Pentium processor and 64MB of RAM at the very least. I was wondering since due to backwards compatibility with x86 and Windows 10 being based on the aforementioned NT kernel, that I could run it and expect a high degree of compatibility. It's literally just to mess around with it and see what weird designs people thought were hip at the time.

Hi I intend to purchase a laptop in a month or so. My Budget is around 60-80 thousand Indian Rupees. I usually game AAA titles now and then but not fulltime. Im looking for a laptop that has good colour accuracy, and good graphic card and can handle tasks like blender, Photoshop , illustrator maybe a little video editing , maya , auto cad alongside multi tasking.Id prefer a laptop that has good battery life and looking to use it for a long run. Id appreciate your suggestions. I was personally looking for a budget lap earlier but i have been told I'd atleast be needing a an i7 - 8 gen or an i9 - 8 gen.Seems a little too steep. I'm open to the AMD side for the CPU bit if it happens to be more budget friendly and is able to deliver in an around those expectations. But if you guys happen to have experience doing the same. Doo let me know what you'd suggest. Im on a tight budget honestly if i could spend lesser id rather doo that. Thanks in advance!

Hi there, looking to get a little advice on a new build. Haven't build a new machine for about 7 years, so this will completely replace my old one. It's a work machine first and foremost, but I'd also like to get into some gaming. I do illustration, design and photography work, mostly in Adobe apps, and I'd like to learn some 3D. So apps like Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Premiere and Blender. The plan is to use 2 x high speed M.2 drives to boot from, use for scratch disks, and keep all my work on. The 2 x 16TB are for media and backups. I already have a 2 x 20TB external setup for backups and cloud storage etc. I'm trying to make sure I build something that will still be fast in 5 years, but without going overboard. I don't have any sort of budget restrictions, but I'd also rather not buy things that are vastly overpowered for the sake of it, since if I'm not going to utilise them it seems stupid. I've only added the main components to the list (CPU, GPU, RAM, HDs, MOBO) since that's what I'd like the advice on. I did think of adding 64GB more RAM but wasn't sure if it'd help with the apps I use, and also wasn't sure if the 2080 Ti was overkill or if I should go for a 2070. I don't mind spending the extra if the power will actually be used. Thanks in advance! Have edited this list since first posting: CPU: AMD Threadripper 3970X 3.7 GHz 32-Core Processor (£1773.48 @ Ebuyer) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM SE 63 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (£129.99 @ AWD-IT) Motherboard: Asus Prime TRX40-Pro ATX sTRX4 Motherboard (£386.98 @ Amazon UK) Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (£173.99) Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (£173.99) Storage: Sabrent Rocket 4.0 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (£359.99 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Sabrent Rocket 4.0 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (£359.99 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Seagate IronWolf Pro 16 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£459.96 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Seagate IronWolf Pro 16 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£459.96 @ Amazon UK) Video Card: Asus GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11 GB STRIX GAMING OC Video Card (£1399.99) Case: Corsair 275R Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case (£70.99 @ AWD-IT) Power Supply: Corsair RMx 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (£159.99 @ AWD-IT) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit (£99.00 @ Amazon UK) Wireless Network Adapter: Asus PCE-AX58BT PCIe x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ax Wi-Fi Adapter (£76.49 @ Box Limited) Case Fan: Corsair LL120 RGB White with Lighting Node PRO 63 CFM 120 mm Fans (£80.79 @ Amazon UK) Case Fan: Corsair LL120 RGB 63 CFM 120 mm Fan (£23.99 @ Amazon UK)

Hey all, I've been using my Intuos Pro small with my macbook pro and Win10 PC for a year or two now, but I noticed recently, that while I'm hovering in Illustrator or Photoshop my cursor will rapidly switch between the standard Mac cursor and whatever tool I have in the program. When the tip of the pen touches the tablet, then the switching stops. Is that normal, and if not what can I do to correct it?

I am taking a graphic design class in school this year and one of the programs we learned was Adobe Illustrator (albeit CS5 but whatever). I really like using this program and I have these personal projects I work on along side our normal assignments. My problem with utilizing the school's program is that I A) won't be able to use it after this year, and B) I only have about 10-20 minutes a day to work on something. To my knowledge Adobe no longer sells the Creative Suite programs and now Creative Cloud (I think) is subscription based. My problem is $30 a month for a hobby is not at all worth it to me. I have no problem with paying for CS6, but I can't find it anywhere. Is there a way I can download it anywhere online without using a sketchy website that makes me feel like my computer is going to explode. Thank you for your help

-Please read all to fully understand the issue that I'm having- My xps 15 9550 has a lot of screen tearing issues in, most notably, Adobe programs. It looks like the top left 1/4th of the screen can't keep up with the rest once I move around a document within Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. It doesn't matter if it's a new file or not it keeps doing it. I haven't seen the screen tearing in games that I sometimes play on it these being: Overwatch, Gmod, SOMA and minecraft So, since I have a shit-ton of issues with my xps I contacted dell, trough facebook because no email on site. Issue list: Closing the lid sometimes results in a full shutdown of the laptop. Adobe programs show very noticeable screen tearing, even when connected to an external display. When a classmate is a bit, let's say, "too enthusiastic" and hits the same table where my laptop resides it completely freezes. When having multiple tabs (5) open the laptop becomes the slowest thing in the entire world. When charging and using the laptop the area near the charge-port (left next to the keyboard) gets so hot you can barely touch it. Battery life is nowhere near advertised life. After a small conversation and going trough the usual 'tech support questions' like: reinstall windows etc. They concluded that my motherboard must have a 'loose contact' and was overheating and would send a mechanic to my house. My initial thought was: What? A mechanic? At my house? For a repair with my msi laptop I had to send the damm thing to Poland, shipping at my expense. Since I had a week off from school I planned a repair on Monday April 24th. I would get a call before 10am with an indication when the mechanic would be at my house. But the day that the mechanic would come was here and no call. At 2 pm I contacted dell, trough facebook... , and said that I still didn't receive a call. They responded with: Hello, it seems the battery isn't in stock, it's strange that you haven't been called. It's better to plan the repair again without the battery because that won't be back in stock until May 12th. Me, assuming they only came to swap the motherboard, asked: Battery? Turns out that a new battery was needed because I mentioned the battery life was nowhere near advertised life. So they planned a repair for the next day and sure enough a mechanic showed up and swapped the motherboard. But since this didn't resolve the screen-taring, nor did I thought it would, they planned ANOTHER repair for the next day. The next day they swapped out the motherboard, ram and wireless card. But the screen tearing was still there. The mechanic told be I would receive a call from someone at Dell to tell me what's next. If it needs another repair I'm screwed because my week off from school is over and don't really have any free moments that aren't special holidays here in the Netherlands until mid July. Now that It's Saturday and I'm using the laptop again I immediately noticed that the fans were spinning while they didn't spin while doing the same thing before the repairs, I have yet to contact Dell about this, mainly because it's Saturday and they probably won't read it until Monday. Thank you for reading all this. Any ideas?

Hi All, Planning a build for my wife with about $2000-$2500 as the budget. By trade she is a Textile Designer and currently does 3D design / rendering in which she wants to do some of this on the side for a potential home business. Computer Usage = Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Textile CAD and come casual gaming (CSGO) This build won't be used for 3D design or rendering. Her computer @ work is running 2 Quadro M6000 ($4000 a piece!!!) Here is what I've been looking at so far. Any suggestions? I'd like to stay with Intel for the CPU but open other brands/options on the other components. Anything else that I need to keep in mind or consider would be helpful as well. Hi. I have a powerful enough computer (I7 6800K, 64GB DDR4, GTX 1080 Ti, Samsung 960 Pro SSD), but when I am working on larger projects in Illustrator or InDesign the saving process takes a lot of time, while the system is not even close to overload. The RAM is almost empty, the CPU is relaxed and the drives are very little busy. I want to see full load on the SSD and CPU but to save my projects as fast as possible... this is why I have invested in 64GB DDR 3000 MHz and M.2 SSD. Any opinions? Thanks.

Looking at completely upgrading my pc next month, what would the best CPU be to mix with a 1070 for a decent amount of gaming, full time illustrator and photoshop?

Hey all, I'm an architecture student and I'm considering building a desktop to help speed up my work flow a little bit, things are getting a bit slow on my Macbook Pro. Most of the recommendations I see about hardware are general focused around gaming or video editing. I'm trying to figure out what I should be looking for in a GPU and the importance of a GPU compared to CPU to the software I'll be using. I'm pretty much only going to be using this computer for design work not gaming. The bulk of what I work with is vector based. I use Rhino 3d, which is similar to autoCAD, and adobe illustrator quite a bit, some photoshop, but probably more in the future, and some solid modeling software (solidworks and fusion 360), I also do renders using a vray plugin for rhino 3d. The biggest issues I see now on my MBP are in illustrator. I try to do anything with an even somewhat complex file and I get the beachball of death for 5 or so minutes, and when doing renders with vray where it is a crapshoot as to whether the render will run quickly and smoothly, take 8 hours, or freeze and crash after 5 min. There is also general sluggishness throughout most the work I'm doing. My first big question, is whether a workstation graphics card (I'm currently looking at this AMD Radeon Pro https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814105068&ignorebbr=1 ) would outperform a gaming GPU in a dollar for dollar comparison. My priorities right now have reliability and speed about tied. Having programs crash can waste a lot of time, even when I'm saving often. My second big question is how much a GPU matters to the overall system. Should I be focusing more on RAM (and does RAM clockspeed matter for this kind of application)? Should I be focusing more on CPU? I really can't consistent or reliable answers to these question for the given application. Basically, what would be a good approach to make a system that won't seize up constantly in the application given above?

He guys, Wanting to make a watermark that just uses "Outer Glow" or "drop Shadow" as seen in the pic in adobe Illustrator. I can use a work around for a solid fill colour to match the background but, if I have no fill/stroke (which is what I want for a image watermark) its a no go and the the entire object wont display. Does anyone know a work around? Prefer to stick with vector art (illustrator) but open to Photoshop suggestions too.

Hey all, I'm trying to create a logo for a website and have run into a roadblock with Adobe Illustrator. I'm quite new to this program and am only using a free trial to create the desired logo. Basically, I'm trying to produce a pattern in the "fill" area of a rectangle which will serve as the background of the logo. However, for the life of me, I can't seem to find an option to do this. Help? Thanks!

Hi, I'm looking for a laptop which can handle all the programs mentioned in the tags (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro). I will be using all of the programs through school work, so I'd like something than can comfortably handle the programs. I'm not completely sure what to look for, so I'd like some help. I would prefer having a windows machine, compared to a macbook. My budget is 1000$ maximum, but anything a fair bit below it would be okay too (I live in Denmark so i have to put 25% on top of everything). Also, any advice on how important getting a screen with a resolution above 1920x1080 is?

Hello. I am looking for a laptop, that I will use for adobe programs like Ps, Il, Ind, Lr, and so on. I am looking at 13.3 to 14inches max. I would love to have i7, and at least 8gb ram. Also a dedicated graphics wouldn't be a bad idea. This laptop is going to be my on the go, and i have a pc at home for larger jobs. The budget will be around 1000, maybe 1200€ at max i can do, if it could be less for my needs, i will be happy to spare some money. I am from Slovenia, Europe. I was looking at some Dell XPS 13, Asus Zenbook 14 with screen pad, and Lenovo X1. But i am not sure what to get.

Oh dear members. Im Jonas and building my first more high end pc. So i lately have been making a part list and was wondering how others look to it, would appreciate it if some of you can get more out of this current configuration. Im making this build to use mostly professional with some casual gaming a side. I work with programs as, davinci resolve, premiere, after effects, illustrator. I will need a new monitor that is rgbs and adobergb callibrated, thats why i found the BenQ PD2500Q the most bang for the buck. Maybe others of you have a different one in mind. The storage is meant to be for the following. M.2 for windows, 250gb ssd for games, 500gb ssd for adobe and davinci programs. 2tb hdd for storage. I also want this build to be a bit aesthetically pleasing, because it will stand on my desk. Its in euro's as you see, i did put all of the information with it so you can look yourself. Hello, I am looking forward to building a new PC for myself. I'll mainly do Illustrator, Photoshop and some lite blender modelling. Even if I game, it'll be low 1080p but that's not my main focus. I am from Bangladesh, very few parts actually ship here. I can't decide whether to go for- 1. An i3-8100 on Gigabyte B360M DS3H paired with 1050Ti OC - 4GB and Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400MHz 4GBx2 which in total would cost me 43500BDT or 2. A Ryzen 5 2400g on Gigabyte B450M DS3H with Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz 8GBx2 which in total would cost me 39500BDT. (no 3200MHz 4GB sticks available here.) Now can anyone help me choose? I may upgrade my build with a 1060 6gb a few months later.

Hello there A buddy of mine is about to buy some laptop for mostly graphics work, photo editing, later I think she would give a try to video editing and cutting as well. The laptop would be rarely used for gaming, mostly older titles. And of course "everyday use" like browsing, watching videos and listening to music. For the "professional use", I thought something with 2x8gb dual channel RAM-s, 4core-8thread CPU and a 250GB SSD would suffice well. She would like to get the best bang for buck choice, though the budget is limited ~ 222k HUF, which is roughly 630 euros. I know it's not much for a portable device, BUT 2nd hand-used market is an option as well! Are there any particular models which are suitable for the intended use, and worth a search? I'd really like to help, but I have non-existent knowledge on mobile devices.. Any assistance would be kindly appreciated. I was browsing on this site. Everything seems to be over the budget, but I believe, we can stretch it a bit. Thanksinadvanceforyourresponses. : )

Hello everyone! I want to build a PC for entry level work with Photoshop and Illustrator. I was wondering if these specs would be good enough: -CPU: Ryzen 5 3400g (or 3200g) -GPU: Vega 11 (integrated) -RAM: 8 GB (Or 16 if it'd make a difference) -SSD: around 500 GB (Exact model to be determined) I'm specially worried about using the integrated GPU, if it's necessary for decent performance to have a dedicated GPU. Going for the 3200g would be going too low? Also, if going for 16 GB would make a difference, and if 2666 MHz would be enough. Thank you!
