Hey, I am having a really weird problem with my pc which I can not figure out from 3 months now, so I am posting here if someone can help. I have a i79700k processor, I am trying to use it on gigabyte Z390 ud motherboard, the pc doesn't boot/post when I setup my pc and the processor gets really really hot in a couple of seconds. I took the motherboard and the chip to gigabyte server center, they tested the board and it worked with their processor, it posted and I saw the bios myself, they tried with my processor, it didn't work. I sent the processor to Intel, got a call from them that the processor is completely fine, they have tested it on multiple board, with stress testing it for 12 hours. I got my processor back and the motherboard, they still didn't work. Processor still over heats, motherboard lights up, ram lights up. There's little lights in bottom right corner of the motherboard it tells that it has detected ram, cpu, gpu but no boot. Now I wonder if the processor is fine, the motherboard is fine why does it not work. It's supposed to be working fine on this motherboard. Thanks for reading! I hope I can get some help.

I noticed that the coil Whine coming ouy from my GPU goes away for microseconds when stuttering happens. Tried everything, DDU, different cables, No OCing, all drivers updates, temps are fine. default bios and NCP... I believe i have sufficient PSU.

So a while back I got a corrupted file and my pc was stuck in a Windows 11 install update and uninstall loop. So I ran to Best buy and picked up a new M.2 SSD and installed Window 10 on it. Now when ever my pc boots it it displays a flashing underscore in the top right for maybe 2 seconds and then the windows logo with the loading wheel instead of my normal ROG logo. I know this means that it cant find the correct boot file or something along those lines but I have the correct storage device selected for boot in bios and it still does it. This issue is slowing down my PC boot and it is really getting on my nerves. Does anybody have any help they can give?

Hi guys, My trusty MSI RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio isn't really cutting it anymore. I play on a 34" AW3420DW (3440x1440, 120FPS) monitor. I want to upgrade my GPU but facing a couple of questions. How much bottleneck is to be expected if I upgrade with keeping my current CPU. Also will my power supply be sufficient? Specs: MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon Intel i7 9700k (stock) be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 MSI RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio Corsair Vengeance DDR4 16GB 3200mhz be quiet! Straight Power 11 750w Intel 660p 1TB m2.ssd Thanks!

Hello community, I'm planning to buy a 3060 12gb maybe next year due to the shortage, but I don't know if I should upgrade my cpu too in order not to bottleneck it. I have a 1080p 144hz monitor and getting a 1440p is out of the question since I live in a very expensive country (Uruguay btw). As the title says, I have an 8400, in a Z370 Asus Prime Z370A cooled with a Cryorig H7. Since a an 8400 bottlenecks a 1080 ti at 1080p, I don't know if I should upgrade to a 9700k for the 3060 especially if said cpu costs 300 usd right now in several US stores. I don't want to run the cpu at 100 cpu everytime a run a cpu bound game but I also don't want to spend in "unnecesary" components.

I have a h80i v2 cooler from corsair. But i want to put my i7 9700k in the system. I want to know if it is enough cooling for this cpu and if i can overclock it with this cooler? It runs now on my i5 9600k and under full load it keeps my temps arround 70 a 80c and while gaming arround 56c. The i5 is overclocked to 5.0ghz 1.370v

So i changed my cpu yesterday and know when i overclock it its current throttling! It also throtteIs at stock. I changed from a i5 9600k to a i7 9700k. I even get current throttling at 4.8ghz at 1.360v. Its installed on a 8phase motherboard msi z390 mpg gaming plus. Can some one help me ? Or is it a probs in xtu vecause ad cpuid i get 1.368v and in xtu it shows 1.335v

Budget (~$600): Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rainbow 6, Warzone, Fortnite, Terraria, Minecraft, Ark Survival Evolved, Apex Legends, Rocket League, and Video and Photo editing (adobe) What should I do regarding the current prices of motherboards right now? I'm running an i7 9700k (OC to 4.9ghz all cores) on a MSI z390 motherboard. The only problem is that I just bought a new aio (MSI) and the rgb connecter is 3pin (argb). The whole system runs fine except for the problem where my motherboard only has 4pin rgb connectors so I literally can't use the rgb on the aio. This kinda sucks and is the reason I'm wondering what I should do. If I buy a new z390 board that is literally going to cost me the same price if not more than buying a z690 or a b660 board so it just doesn't seem worth it to me. But if I do go 12th gen then obviously I am going to have to get a new cpu (i5 12600k). This is fine because it would be an upgrade from my current cpu (9700k) anyway but then instead of the whole expense being only ~$250 it will be more like ~$600. This leads me to ask the question of which is more worth it/better. Should I get a z690 board for with the 12600k for $610.80, the b660 with the 12600k for $568.60, or just buy a new z390 mobo with a 3pin (argb) connector for ~$250.

Is this normal temp for a watercooled CPU?
KhaderKh posted a topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Hi, I have the EKWB S360 classic kit, nothing serious cooling my 9700K at 5.2ghz 1.34v. I have the radiator and fans on top pushing air out of the case which are working as exaust for hot air coming from my 6800xt aorus. My case is mid size Asus Tuf gt501 with 3 120mm fans in front as intake and 1 140mm fan as exaust on the back (CM Halo). Playing death stranding and its torturing the CPU at 90% usage on all 8 cores drawing 100+ watts. Pumps is at full speed 2350rpm, Rad fans at 1400rpm - 1500rpm. Temp hoover at low 70s C sometimes mid 70s C. Tried increasing rad fan speed to the max 2200rpm and i barely noticed 2-3 degrees decrease. Not worth the noise. Is this normal? Thinking of having the rad and fans in front instead on top to pull fresh air from the outside. Thanks- 1 reply

Hi, currently running i7 9700KF @5.2ghz stable at 1.34v. But cannot have it stable at 5.3ghz, i made a quick test by lowering my nzxt x53 240ml fan and pump speeds and the CPU became unstable at even 5.2ghz so i figured its a cooling issue, since some cores suddenly hit 85. Can i get it to reach 5.3ghz or even higher with better cooling solution? Anyone have it or had it can share their experience!

Hi, I have 9700K OCed to 5.2ghz @1.35v and LLC 6 Cooled by NZXT X53 240mm. On AIDA64 stress test the CPU draws 140w to 150w the temps hit low 80s. Playing cyberpunk which utilize all 8cores the CPU draws up to 100w and temps hit low to mid 70s. On idle temps sit a TT around 40c to 55c, fluctuates alot. I know the temps are fine for the CPU but is it fine and expected for the cooler, is it under performing? Pump speed is 2700RPM (Highest) Fans speed is 1700 - 2000RPM (Highest) Thanks

So im thinking about buying the i7 9700f to upgrade my pc, and was wondering would any motherboard work for to buy? Since im not looking to overclock and dont care much about rgb, and special features can i get a super cheap motherborad? Should I upgrade my CPU? CPU: i5 6500 GPU: gtx 1660 super RAM: 16gb ram PSU: 500w bronze from evga I have been thinking about upgrading my Cpu for a long time, and since black friday sales are still going on I think its a great time to upgrade. I was wondering what would be a good upgrade from my i5 6500. I mostly game on my pc, but since im a engineering undergrad, I have to use soildworks, autocad, and do a bit of coding. My budget for a new CPU is $350 CAD or less. My options i was thinking about was a i5 9600k, i7 9700k, Ryzen 5 3600, Ryzen 7 2700x.

Hello, I've been having stuttering problems and weird gpu/cpu usage in my games for the past few weeks and can't seem to figure out what is going on. I have also noticed that in most AAA heavy/heavier games ive been playing such as cyberpunk (which I was getting 60+ fps in but am now getting in the mid 40s) far cry 6, borderlands 3, rust, conan exiles just to name a few - at max settings (ray tracing/dlss included) 1440p, my gpu usage will bounce from 60%-80% and my cpu will bounce from 50%-80% and ill get these really annoying stutters or hitching. My 3080 ti is not OCed other than the fan profile being set to Aggressive in EVGAs Precision X1 software and my i7 9700k is stock as well. Not sure whats going on but any help would be great. Build Specs: EVGA 3080 ti connected with 3 separate pci cables i7 9700k with a AIO for cooling MSI z390 A Pro motherboard 2 x 8gb 3600 Corsair Vengeance LPX Sticks (XMP enable) (in dual channel ofc) 1tb SN750 m.2 ssd (boot drive and games are installed on it) Corsair RM750w PSU Things I have tried: updating motherboard bios Setting power plan to high performance DDU uninstalling and reinstalling graphics driver setting max performance power plan in nvidia control panel disabling ray tracing and dlss in the games that have it switching to dx11 and dx12 options in the games that have it windows factory reset None of these have worked for me. Any help or tips would be much appreciated.

I am playing Uncharted 4 on a 3060 ti and an i7 9700k with 32gb of ram and the i7 has been revving up more than some other games, are these temps fine? I made sure the shader cache was completed before loading the game. The i7 is being cooled by a Noctua U12s Chromax at stock with ram at 3600 mhz, with Asus MCE disabled on the motherboard and vccio and vcsaa below 1.2v P.S: It is 28c inside my room according to my thermostat.

I am running an i7 9700k as was wondering if the temp difference I see between the cores are normal? The min core temp has a max difference of 2 degrees celsius, but the max temp has a difference of up to 7 degrees. Is this normal? I have checked that the cooler is attached correctly.

So basically I just got an i7 9700k to replace my i5 8600k for my z370 Aorus Gaming 5. I bios updated it to F15b, F14, F12, and F10 all doesnt boot. Error code 78 keeps popping up and sometimes 62 but doesnt get pass the Aorus screen. A0 once but doesnt get pass that screen too and can't go into bios. F15b initially made my screen really stuttery and also like scratchy as if the connectors were not connected properly. When I switched into bios F14 it went into bios but when i left bios "bi initialize library failed 0xc0000229" popped up. Last but not least, i ran it through the f12 bios but it keeps flashing C1 and even after i insert my RAM it still flash C1. When I put my i5 back in it works perfectly. I got the cpu off ebay and its from a relatively high rating reseller. Does anyone know how can I troubleshoot this problem?

I am currently using a budget Corsair CX650 for my rig which consists of the following: i7 9700k which standard boost to 4.6Ghz all cores 4.9Ghz single cores (HWMonitor showed it using up to 130 Watts as it auto clocks to 1.35 - 1.36V) Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB DDR4 Gigabyte RTX 2080 Gaming OC which auto boosts to 2000Mhz clock speed at times but generally settles at 1960Mhz from stock OC mode of 1850Mhz (Uses 230-250 Watts I think) 1x m.2 NVMe 2x SSD 1x HDD LED strips Quite a few USB peripherals 1x 240mm AIO 4x 120mm fans Before you link the PSU Tier list I have looked at that extensively and can't settle on whether I need a 650W PSU still or a 750W now or maybe even an 850W to be extra safe but could lose efficiency? I have tried several PSU calculators but I think a lot of them seem to just recommend 1000Ws which is overkill. TLDR; Should I go for a Corsair RMX 650/750/850 or the Be Quiet! Straight Power 11 Gold 650/750/850 ? thanks in advance
