Hi, so I have a bit of an issue where I am contemplating which vacuum to get. I remember growing up, and our vacuums would break down constantly because of pets. Now I don't own an animal yet but want a vacuum that isn't going to cause issues that are made properly. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Hey everyone. sorry if i didnt look hard enough for a solution on here. ive been trying for weeks. i just moved in with some friends. the new home owners father used to work as an engineer / in telecommunications. we currently have 2- 2.4 ghz networks, and 1 5-ghz network. we dont have the password for the 5ghz network. the house is two stories, main router is on the main floor. i was told that the two different 2.4ghz networks were based off of the main floor and the second floor. while going into the router options to see if i cound find the 5ghz password i found. we have our main router. another router on the main floor. and then upstairs we have a "office" which has at least 6 different routers. all of them will give me internet hardwired to my laptop. our 1 network only works on some devices / has connection issues / slow for our internet speed our second network is pretty decent but not that fast for gigabit internet 5ghz cant even find it in router settings to get the password hard wired to the main router i get 800 megabits/s up and down everywhere else is under 100 even on wifi i assume the best course of action is disconnect everything from the main router. perform a factory reset on the network settings and then find a solution for wifi extenders its a house of 4 adults. heavy wifi / internet users basically whats the most cost effective / easiest way to set up this house. we dont need hardwired connections upstairs that badly. mainly just a connection that doesnt drop all the time i appreciate any and all answers!

I am looking at wiring my new house for ethernet (walls are open). For regular ethernet jacks around the house this is my plan: Punch-down Keystone Wall Plate > Cat6E Cable > Patch Panel with Pass-through Couplers (not punch down style) > Patch Cat6 cable > Switch For WiFi Access Points this is my plan: AP > Cat6E Cable > Patch Panel with Pass-through Couplers (not punch down style) > Patch Cat6 cable > PoE Injector > Patch Cat6 cable > Switch I am not sure if this is too complicated or if it will work fine My main reason for this forum post is does anyone know if the PoE injectors will work with those FS.com couplers in the blank patch panel? They are circuit board instead of individually wired internally. I contacted their support but they told me no twice and yes once for PoE support from three different representatives. The other reason is does anyone know if my current setup will be able to handle 10GbE in the future (other than the switch)? I can run Cat6a instead of the Cat6E if thats better for the future. The parts are as follows: >RJ45 Modular Ends: Cable Matters 100 Pack Pass Through RJ45 Modular Plugs for Solid or Stranded UTP Cable >Punch-down Keystone Jacks: Cable Matters UL Listed 25-Pack Slim Profile 90 Degree Cat 6, Cat6 RJ45 Keystone Jack with Keystone Punch Down Stand in White >Cat6E Cable: CAT6E Riser (CMR), 1000ft, UTP 24AWG, Solid Bare Copper, 600MHz, UL Certified, Easy to Pull (Reelex II) Box, Bulk Ethernet Cable in White >Router: Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro >Switch: Ubiquiti Switch Pro 24 >Patch Panel: Cable Matters Rackmount or Wall Mount 24 Port Keystone Patch Panel (Blank Patch Panel for Keystone Jacks/Keystone Panel) >Couplers for Blank Patch Panel: Cat6 Keystone RJ45 Coupler, Unshielded, Female to Female Insert Inline Coupler >Patch Cables: 12ft (3.7m) Cat6 Snagless Unshielded (UTP) PVC CM Ethernet Network Patch Cable >Access Points: Ubiquiti UniFi Access Point WiFi 6 Long-Range & Ubiquiti UniFi Access Point WiFi 6 Lite >Wall Plates: Two Ports Keystone Single Gang Wall Plate

I am an architectural drafting student and for our last semester we have to design a mansion. My mansion is a chateau style and is called La Petite since it is on the smaller side for a mansion. We are required to have a logo for our house. I am really awful at Photoshop and don't have a lot of creativity when it comes to designing logos or even catchy names. Would someone be able to come up with a cool logo for my house? Something Frenchy! It needs to include the name "La Petite". It would also be really helpful to have a separate design for the page numbers (sorta like a box with the number in it). Thanks a lot! I can't wait to see the designs. *Even something simple like

So, hopefully, in a few months, I will be moving into a house with a few friends. We will have free reign to make whatever modifications we desire to the house. I have decided that I would like to run in-wall Ethernet to each bedroom and to the living room. However, I am at a loss. I am unsure what kind of switch I will need. All I have know I will have is a Linksys WRT1900AC and whatever modem Comcast says we need. I am thinking of using WRT1900AC strictly as an access point managed by the switch. Would this work, or would there be a better way to do this? At this point, it is all theory. I am open to changing this setup. Thanks

Basically I've moved into a new property. They have ran telephone points in several rooms but the cable is actually rj45. My question is what speeds and what cables do I need to connect? So the telephone line comes in down stairs to my hallway and bt have now fitted a master socket 5C as shown below. In my bedroom there is a wallplate where they have put two RJ11. I want to change one of these to rj45. How will I get an rj45 back into the daisy chain of rj45 from the router point in the hall way? Not sure if I've explained what I want to do that clear. But if you need me to explain more please just ask. Thanks. Also I think the fastest I can get is 100Mbps since I will only be able to use 3 pairs (6 cables) since the other 2 cables are used by the telephone line in of course. 100Mbps will be fine though( I believe it only needs 2 pairs but correct me if I'm wrong)

Hi everyone I'm looking for a solution for my house where I can have a single, very powerful PC, that can be accessed from different places around the house simultaneously, for different applications. I have an "Office room", a "Gaming room" and a "Living room theater". I want to be able to play demanding games in the "theater room", then continue the gameplay in my "Gaming room", all while someone is working in the office. The point is to have the same amount of PC power in every room and have the virtual PC's available for simultaneous use. Also if I understand correctly if two people use the pc at the same time, the power should be split in half. If you have an idea, of what system/setup I could implement in my house, please let me know. Thanks! Budget (including currency): Unlimited PLN Country: Poland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Demanding 3d games, Video and photo editing, watching videos, general everyday use. Other details: The goal is not to break the house down :)

So I need some advice for my networking solution at my house. In the image you can see my house, simply drawn. It is in fact a lot bigger though. The green wire is the coaxial cable coming directly out of the street. PT 1 is the provided modem/router/AP/switch provided by the ISP which sits in the basement. PT 2 is a Netgear R7000 router configured as an access point. All the red wires are ethernet cables. I have also labeled the PCs with a number. Situation now At the moment I have two PCs (1 and 2) directly connected to the router (PT 1), which is a Cisco unit provided by the ISP. It has WiFi built-in but I have disabled that due to it not working well with the WiFi of the Netgear. I have 2 PCs and 2 printers connected to the Netgear access point. What I want and questions There are two things I want: I want to connect the 2 PCs (1 and 2) and the NAS from the attic to the internet with ethernet. As the Netgear doesn't have enough ports, I need a (bigger than the built-in) switch. I was thinking of the Netgear ProSafe GS116 (16 ports, gigabit). I am not sure about the speeds though. I know the single ethernet cable between the switch and the access point won't limit the speeds between the connected devices nor the speed to the internet, but won't the connection to the wireless devices on the Netgear be slower, since that single ethernet cable is still only gigabit speed? My internet speed is 150 Mbits download and 15 upload. Let's say I am using all of that speed on computer 4 which would be connected to the switch and I am transferring files between my laptop (connected to the WiFi) and my NAS at 950 Mbits. The ethernet connecting the switch and access point then has to carry 150 + 950 = 1100 Mbits, which is more than 1 gigabit! Correct me if I am wrong, but won't the connection then be slower or what? And then the question finally, how can I fix this? I want to be able to manage the 2 PCs that are now connected directly to the router (1 and 2) with the software of the Netgear. With that software I can not only block devices from the network, but also block websites for example. Everything that is connected to the Netgear shows up in the software, so PC 1 and 2 don't. Does this mean I have to configure PT 2 back to its original function, as a router, make PT 1 behave as a modem and run PC 1 and 2 with ethernet to the Netgear? Please let me know if you have any ideas to solve these problems, and/or tips to improve my network. Also, correct me if any of my statements are wrong or/and if you don't understand what I want. Thanks!

Hey guys, It's been a while since I've been here but I'm happy to come back. So I was browsing the interwebs and somehow started watching random youtube videos, that's what happens when you are bored, I don't know how but I stubled across this old Linus video: Linus old video Now I know it might sound weird to the new subs but I realized that I miss the old setup. Those videos recorded in that kitchen felt different almost as if someone was actually at my house explainig/reviewing a product, it's most likely because I'm nostalgic and I've been following the LTT crew for quite a while, but who knows. I feel like it would be nice if they could go grab a picture of old setup and green-screen it in a new video as an omage to the old times and everyone who was there at the time. I felt like putting this out there, let me know what you guys think. Am I the only one? - Theo

I'm about to wire my house with Cat5e, I know cat6 would had been a beter choice but for the amount I need cat 5e is good enough and can hold 1 Gigabit speeds. I have a router and a plan on how to lay out the wiring to 4 bedrooms, 1 living room, and 1 dinning room. With the living room, and 2 bedrooms having two ethernet ports. I'm very new to networking and my understanding doesn't go pass forum knowledge and a computer maintenance class from Cisco. I need help choosing my switch, I need a 16 port in case I do more wires to more rooms but I don't know if getting a 10/100 speed switch would be enough to supply Internet at good speeds to the house when there are at least 2pcs, and 1 smart TV plus 4 phones using the network or kill my wallet and get a 10/100/1000 switch. To my understanding the 10/100 switch should be able to supply Internet to all the connected devises at good speeds the 10/100 shouldn't kick in as a bottleneck until I start sharing files from pc to pc in my local network. I mainly use my Internet for streaming and gaming, the other pc and smart tv stream only, and well the phones are phones using wifi. Also my Internet is with at&t at 22gigabytes if that means anything.

I have a mini tower that came as a pre-built PC by Acer. The plan is to keep the case and take out the guts and give it a mini atx motherboard. I have done some math that all major components will fit including the psu witch was hard to find. The only problem is the bracket size of the gpu. The case from top view is 4 in wide it can house the gpu (evga gtx 950sc or msi ) with the cable pressing against the side panels. The bracket is longer then 4 in. The plan is to take the bracket off and ask evga if they have a smaller one or cut off a section that isn't vital and sober the two pieces back together forming a shorter bracket. No extension cable for the gpu. I mainly want to keep the PC hidden from others. This is the case I'm working with. Acer aspire xc 603. I am not buying a new case or used.

Hey everyone, I recently moved into a new house and we have our ethernet wired through the walls. All cables end in the "networking room", where they are connected to a switch -> router -> modem. To connect everything I used only cat.6 TIA/EIA-568-B cables. So here comes my problem, when connected directly to the switch I get 1Gbit/s, but when connected with the cables that are wired through the wall I only get 100mbit/s. According to the specifications of my electrian (the only spefication I got...) they used cat.6 cables capable of up to 600mhz. Which according to my knowledge should be more than enough for 1Gbit/s. Form what I've read only 2 pairs in the cable are used for 10/100 mbit/s. What's up with the other 2 pairs? https://www.iplocation.net/rj45-wiring https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category_6_cable https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TIA/EIA-568#Wiring What could be the source of my problem? - It's probably not distance, because I get the same speeds in every Room. - It's not the Network adapter (I checked by pluging it in directly). + Worng wiring..? + Wrong cable used..? If anyone has an idea I would be very grateful! PS: sorry if my english isn't perfect, I'm not a native speaker.

Hey guys! I am in a bit of a pickle here. I have CAT 5E ports around my house, and I have a sort of 'central panel' where all of the cables meet, but my router isn't hooked up to them. How would I set up my router so I can have ethernet throughout my house? This is how my current situation is: AT&T U-Verse Internet, I have the router they gave me. Router is downstairs in entertainment center. I have ethernet ports in almost every room. There is a panel in one of the closets upstairs that has what appears to be where all of the cables meet, but I dont know what it does. There is a large multi port thingy with tons of short CAT 5E cables linking everything up. Now I'm not very good with networking, but I understand SOME of the basic stuff. Help me out please, I would really benefit from using the ethernet compared to a wireless adapter on my desktop. Can I move the router upstairs and somehow integrate it in so I have ethernet? Thanks in advance!
