So, apparently, the systems controlling all this isn't air gapped like it is at nuclear facilities for instance. Why? who thought it'd be a good idea to allow anyone the opportunity to remotely access something so important? That's the first question the FBI and Secret Service should be asking me thinks.

oof Summary PlayStation has been getting hacked!! They have disabled the servers until further notice to stop the hackers and fix the flaws in their security system. LittleBigPlanet's twitter account shared a statement about the hacks stating "Due to the severity of the recent attacks we have no other option than to temporarily disable the game servers. We do not take these attacks lightly especially when they target our loyal community members. Thanks for understanding." - LittleBigPlanet twitter account. The servers should be back up once PlayStation fixes the security flaws. Quotes My thoughts LittleBigPlanet just has not had good luck like ever. The best LittleBigPlanet was on the Vita in my opinion. Yes I had a PS Vita and I loved it. Summary Linux kernels from 5.1 through the latest (as of today, 2022 October 14) have a wifi vulnerability which allows a remote attacker to set up a wifi network and gain control of the linux kernel. Note that your Android device does not have to join their network, just be scanning in the vicinity of the attacker. Quotes My thoughts Today is a bad day to be using Android. I use Android. I'm turning off my wifi. For at least the next month or so. Hey everyone, A couple days ago I had my first experience being hacked on Instagram. How it happened is something I cannot figure and its seriously bugging me. I use a password manager that generates a strong password to secure to my account. I have 2 factor authentication set up and my choice was to use the password managers one time password as the authenticator as well as sms code. I have login notifications on as well so anytime I login I get an email and a push notification. I also have suspicious login attempt notifications on. Upon waking up the other day, I received a text from a few friends alerting me I was hacked. I did not receive a email login notification nor did I receive a push notification or suspicious login attempt notification. I did not receive a text with a 2-step code. Thankfully in my case, my password was not changed. I was able to open Instagram as usual and logout the other person who signed in. They were signed in from Germany. Here's what I do not understand, I logged in on my PC to change my password, immediately I got an email and push notification alerting me of a suspicious login attempt that requires my approval. Why did this not happen when said hacker logged in? I know most "hacks" are phishing except I've only ever been logged in on my phone and I have never used a third party app to sign in with my Instagram. I also change my password every 6 months out of fear of being hacked since its happened to multiple of my friends. Does anyone know how it is possible that they were able to by pass 2-factor and login notifications?

First of all, let me clear a few things. I never sign in to Gmail yet alone my google account to any other device expect my one, which is not publicly accessible meaning people are unable to use my computer without me knowing. When I go to security sessions on google there are no recent signs ins, the only thing in that section is the 2 factor authentication i put on my account a few days ago. As for the current session section the only device there is mine and it says I'm logged in with 1 session running presumably mine i guess. It also says I use no other sites or apps that i use google to log in with and also no linked accounts associated with my google as well. In the screenshot provided shows the concurrent session which is referring to the other device, you can see it comes from an unknown access type but has the same IP and location as me. I want to reiterate I only use this device to sign into my google account and gmail, this is further proven by the fact that google says I only have one session open on this device in google security settings. Also we can see all the logins from me and the unknown acesss share the same IP and location. Sometimes the unknown logs into the gmail in the exact same time I do indicated by the date and time section. Help me figure this out please. Thank you kindly. The hacking group 'thedarkoverlord' (-Twitter) Has hacked into a LA ADR company and released the new season of OITNB (Orange Is The New Black). They have spoken to torrent freak about this and claim to have large amounts of unreleased content from both film and television. thedarkoverlord was in talks with Larson Studios in an attempt to hold the content they had stolen ransom for the price of 50 Bitcoins (~£51,819.00) Larson Studios signed the contract agreeing to this however failed to pay the requested 50 Bitcoins It looks like thedarkoverloard means serious business about the content they are holding as leverage and it is possible we may see more leaks in the near future.... From thedarkoverlords twitter; The stolen content is not complete to broadcast quality and will contain audio errors, missing ADR and audio levels before they are properly mixed. The Video quality will also be missing its final touches such as colour grade. Original article; https://torrentfreak.com/hackers-leak-netflixs-orange-is-the-new-black-season-5-premiere-170429/

I don't know much about networks, but I know something ain't right when you pay for 60 Mbps but you're only getting 1 Mbps. My router (listed as "something clever") only supports 2.4 Ghz and currently sits in the corner of my basement surrounded by concrete walls (smart I know). So I downloaded a wifi analyzer app and saw that my neighbors were running on the same 2.4 Ghz channels as me. I changed the channel and instantly got 60 Mbps on an internet speed test; my desktop is directly above the router 1 floor so I knew the concrete foundation wasn't the issue. Not more than 2 minutes later I ran the test again to marvel at my technological prowess, only to find that the speed had dropped to 0.5 Mbps. What gives???? I look at the network analyzer again and I see another network with a very similar MAC address as my router, as shown in the attached image. So I change the channel again to see if that helps....nope. That pesky, unnamed, hidden network followed suit. Ran the MAC address through a lookup, and nothing was returned. Not sure what it is, or what caused my wifi speed to drop 99%. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Another example why you should not use plaintext passwords in configuration files. "All evidence suggests that the hacker has scanned the entire internet for Git config files, extracted credentials, and then used these logins to access and ransom accounts at Git hosting services." So luckily no technical flaw seems to be used but simply the human flaw of bad security practices probably due to laziness. At least I personally would expect laziness to be the main underlying reason. On GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket hundreds of git repositories have been tacking "hostage" by a hacker who deleted/corrupted/altered code and recent commit history of those repositories and left a ransom demand for "0.1 Bitcoin (~$570)". The ransom note reads: A search on GitHub done by ZDNet revealed "that at least 392 GitHub repositories have been ransomed, so far". The same search just now yields 384 results. The article on ZDNet also speaks of a way to recover: "members of the StackExchange Security forum have found that the hacker does not actually delete, but merele alters Git commit headers, meaning code commits can be recovered, in some cases." Also of course if you have a local clone of the repository which was up to date with the repository that has been compromised you can simply recover from there. And finally, while it might be not to difficult to restore your repository and close the security holes the ransom notes also threatens with making the code public, "private Git repositories were most likely compromised as well", which could still could be a mayor problem for those affected. Original article at ZDNet; https://www.zdnet.com/article/a-hacker-is-wiping-git-repositories-and-asking-for-a-ransom/ Some interesting links from the article: The GitHub search: https://github.com/search?o=desc&q=1ES14c7qLb5CYhLMUekctxLgc1FV2Ti9DA&s=indexed&type=Code Related StackExchange posting, partially quoted by ZDNet and contains instructions on how to recover: https://security.stackexchange.com/questions/209448/gitlab-account-hacked-and-repo-wiped

Hi Guys, My company is looking to replace some aging Sun 3/E systems as the Coaxial & SCSI Ethernet Boards are failing and spares are hard to come by or none existent. So now I'm looking at the community of UNIX & Linux Hackers around to help out. Would like to replace the system with new hardware running BSD or Linux, but thinking about how we could interface the legacy ports and connectors. The Device all these machines are connected to is a Flight Safety B737-300 Flight Simulator. Most if not all of the cockpit parts are from a real aircraft, so most of these lagacy ports are there to adapt it to the tech of the time (Some of which are from 1988). I will checkout whatever you awesome guys have sent me thus far. As we see it, this machine has another year or so if the parts hold up. The manufacturer wants an insane amount of money to update the whole system to just 2 racks with 2-3 modern machines (Mostly running Linux now), we're trying to find a solution that enables us to run Video Tour : https://youtu.be/GtmpFWxo_aA Flight Simulator : This is the Flight Safety (Manufacturer) B737-300 Flight Simulator manufactured in 1991. We use for Flight Training, many airlines from the Asian and African sector still operate these Aircrafts. https://ibb.co/mvtYSmc https://ibb.co/4t9zHRh https://ibb.co/mBXv4Rs Host Sun 0 Machine : This has the main OS on it with whatever applications are needed to run the IOS Software (Instructor Operating Station) Host_1 : https://ibb.co/tL5KMhj Sun Micro 501-8027 3/E Ethernet/SCSI Card aka the Ethernet Board that has failed : https://ibb.co/NZh58ZP https://ibb.co/48sVJYV https://ibb.co/0yJwwwJ https://ibb.co/stdWJ8g https://ibb.co/jLKBqpK Client Sun Machine : The images below are for a client machine of sorts, It connects to a Host machine (also Solaris Based using the Sun 3/E and Motorola Chassis) and gets an IP Address of sorts to link the two machines using the 501-8027 Cards. It is connected to 2 Touchscreens which allow the Flight Instructor to control various parameters of the simulation (Weather, Aircraft Failures etc) Client_1 :https://ibb.co/chythzG Client_2 : https://ibb.co/NyW3xjq Client_3 : https://ibb.co/4dwV673 Concurrent Machine running OS/32 for Boeing Logic : https://ibb.co/Vvg2v58 https://ibb.co/8svsVSs https://ibb.co/GcnFn90 https://ibb.co/W2v5F6R https://ibb.co/S0MD7Sj https://ibb.co/LRYVgn9 https://ibb.co/qdBqSkN https://ibb.co/j5Yj3xs https://ibb.co/r5zKSW6 https://ibb.co/ccWpTSC https://ibb.co/bJN7jJg https://ibb.co/j5X1mDq https://ibb.co/KNYMjM6 https://ibb.co/dLN6Jjf Terminal : https://ibb.co/jyzGwGB https://ibb.co/8BBcBSc MVME Rack : This seems to handle most of the Boeing Logic as well, on the Ground floor there is a rack with 15 of these Motorola MVME 133XT Cards controlling various parameters of the Hydraulic Motion System, Control Loading etc. https://ibb.co/d6DDNZg https://ibb.co/zbWDHXs https://ibb.co/cJhJR2D

https://www.theverge.com/2018/5/9/17333292/fortnite-cheater-lawsuit Defendant is a cheater,” said Epic Games in its October 2017 lawsuit against a 14-year-old boy. “Nobody likes a cheater. And nobody likes playing with cheaters.” C.R. is being sued for live-streaming himself using a cheat he found online and then linking out to it in the YouTube description box. Epic Games doesn’t claim that defendant created cheat, sold a cheat, or even run a forum that distributes cheats. They are just discouraging streamers who use Cheat codes and Patches to attract followers because allowing such a trend will make the cheats spread like wildfire and cause a MiniMilitia 2 situation where the public lobbies were swarmed by "self crowned hacker" end users which quickly made casual gamers who were genuinely playing the game abiding to the rules and regulations of the game. Quoting Verge "The lawsuit gives a few examples of what Fortnite cheats can do. “A cheat might enable the cheater to see through solid objects, teleport, impersonate another player by ‘spoofing’ that player’s user name, or make moves other players cannot, such as a spin followed by an instant headshot to another player.” It’s not clear what kind of cheat C.R. was using, but whatever it was, it was giving him a huge leg up in Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode, which pits up to 100 players against each other on a map." It is not clear if the workaround or fix to the cheat is already in place or not. but it seems Epic games is going through with the case. Verge says "It was probably this counter-notice that kicked off the unlikely lawsuit to begin with. The way that DMCA counter-notices work is that YouTube will keep the content offline for 10 days, but if the copyright claimant — in this case, Epic Games — files a legal action, YouTube has to continue to keep it offline. And that’s exactly what Epic Games did, before even realizing they were going after a 14-year-old. That fact only came to their attention when C.R.’s mother, Lauren Rogers, sent a letter to the court, pointing out that C.R. was a minor and minors are not capable of consenting to contracts. She had never authorized him to play Fortnite, which meant that the EULA was not binding on her son. Lauren Rogers isn’t wrong, per se. It’s true that, in general, minors do not have the capacity to make contracts. (It’s why standard EULAs like Fortnite’s ask minors to only use the service with the supervision of their parent or guardian, who must themselves agree to the EULA.) By playing Fortnite without his mother’s permission, technically speaking, C.R. is outside of the EULA. But also technically speaking, playing Fortnite without being covered under the EULA might be a digital trespass, or worse, computer fraud and abuse. That might sound wild and ridiculous in a world where minors are almost certainly clicking through EULAs without their parents’ permission, but the whole underage internet exists on the precarious legal fiction that all these teens are being supervised by their parents, who are bound by these contracts that no one is actually reading. But all this is a little beside the point. Being a minor can’t stop you from getting sued for copyright infringement."

https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/02/15/hackers-coinhoarder-steal-more-than-50-million-in-cryptocurrencies-using-google-ads/ Cisco's Talos Intelligence Group uncovered a team of hackers based out of Ukraine, who dubbed themselves CoinHoarder, using Google AdWords to lure people into malicious mirrors of popular wallet holder sites like blockchain.info. This highlights an important weakness of the Google AdWords service, that can be abused for other things in the future like sending people to fake bank or government sites. More than $50m (accounting for the appreciation of these cryptos since they were stolen) was taken from legitimate users, especially from countries that are not up to date in cybersecurity, they smartly targeted people who are less likely to know a scam site from a legit site. There is no mention of whether the members of this hacker group have been aprehended, or whether Google is going to change its AdWords service in any way. I'll update this if I find any more info.

So for the past few days my mouse has been clicking by itself just for some minutes at a time but it just got worse. As soon as I opened my laptop the mouse started doing its thing again. So I wondered what will happen if I let it play alone. After a little bit it started acting as a real human. At first it did circles and then it started checking out my desktop. It didn’t open them just saw them. At this point it opened the recycle bin and I saw some files deleted there that I would never delete. It preceded to open them but I closed the laptop down by its button. I dont know what to do. I disconnected it from everything but it still has access to the WiFi and the battery is at 95%. Since then I didn’t open it but I’m afraid that it will open while I’m sleeping. Please help me. ( btw my antivirus expired two weeks ago) ( oh and I haven’t pirated anything for the past 4 months )

Source: http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-34920557 Holy crap that is a ton of user info. I really hope I'm not affected by this although that seems unlikely. It would be helpful to know which sites were hit, but given the sheer amount of credentials and affected sites, its likely many of the sites i and other people use are affected. I hope nothing too bad comes of this and that the FBI catches who did this.

Soooooo, I have come across at least 2 suspects, and 4 obviously modding players today on BF4. The one in the vid was using an aimbot client in the attack chopper. Basically, this allowed him to guide his TOW rocket to any player 100% of the time. He was able to track any vech, no matter where it was or his position to it, and kill it. He actually killed me completely across the map, in a jet, turning behind some buildings once. I personally don't mind modding games, as its quite fun. But modding multiplayer is different. If you put on fun things like moon jump or unlimited ammo in games such as cod, it's fun for everyone. Aimbot in battlefield just makes you look like a jackass.

So I was on my desktop about 20 min ago. My laptop is beside me turned off (windows 10). Suddenly my laptop turned on, logged on by itself (no passcode lock on my laptop), and went to chrome. Before it could do anything serious I disconnected my wifi and started my antivirus kaspersky. Apparently, my protection was disabled and my data bases needed an update. Long story short I went through the updating process and started my virus scan. But this is not where it stops. Kaspersky keeps telling me that winnet advanced program is trying to send a udp packet(or something like that. It goes on about this port and ip). I block this connection but every few minutes it requests again with a new ip and port. My wifi is still off. What can I do? What do I do? I need to do other things but I'm afraid if I don't keep blocking this connection I'll lose my files. Help! UPDATE: Can anyone tell me what winnet advanced program is? UPDATE: Virus programs have found 9 adware and 1 trojan UPDATE: Winnet udp packet request stopped coming

So remember how the forums were being DDoS'd last week? I engaged the guy on Twitter. He responded with my name (I am entirely anonymous) saying that I fucked up. Now, he has my Skype. He sent me a friend request. In the event that I do accept and engage him, what can he obtain from my Skype? He must be pretty mad that his website was *maybe* taken down by the FBI.
