Hi, I've been getting spam messages in my Gmail that don't let me unsubscribe. These emails don't have any text in them they only have a picture (not attachments just straight up picture). I can see those picture's only on my phone. When I open the mail on my PC, I get nothing. Right Now I don't have any pictures or video of the mails. Because I've been deleting them and I got the idea of asking help here only after deleting them. I'm sure those emails will come again. So, when they do come. I'll add the pictures. But I do have a picture of a filter I created to auto delete these emails. I contacted google about this but the rep told me to report these emails. What this spammers have been doing is. They have taken my mail ID. Lets say john.doe69@gmail.com is my mail ID. They send mail to john.doe69NK@aol.com, john.doe69aw@aol.com and more. Since john.doe69 is the main thing all of those spam messages come to me. Essentially these pictures have fake unsubscribe options in them but clicking on them redirects to 1xbet or some sketchy site hell once it redirected me to google.com All of this spam messages have one thing in common. They all come from accounts having the words aol.com, winkerstar.net and asahi.com in their sent from addresses. I will add the pictures. When I get them again. If anyone has gone through this in the past please help me. If anyone from LMG have look into this and help. Maybe we can put a end to this kinda crap in gmail. Thank You

Hi all, I just picked up a new Pixel 7 and loaded both my email accounts onto it. One is a gmail account and the other is through a different domain for work. I'm getting notifications just fine for my gmail account, but the other isn't working. Once I open the app and switch to that account all the notifications come at once, but never when the emails actually arrive. The account has notifications enabled and is set to sync, and I've already disabled battery optimization for the app. Any other ideas? I had no issue getting push notifications for both accounts on my old phone. Thanks!

Over the last couple days, key Google apps, including Google Search and Gmail, and some third-party apps have been non-functional for many Android users. The culprit seems to be Google's WebView app. Over the last couple days, Android devices of all kinds were experiencing constant app crashes, both of Google's own first-party apps and some third-party apps that rely on Google's WebView system component app. The issue seems to have been related to updates with Google Chrome and a Google app called "WebView."1 According to an official report by Google, the app crashes "affected a significant subset of users." It is currently unknown if every user with the update Chrome and WebView apps fell victim to the bug, but there were widespread reports from affected users of devices from different manufacturers, so it appears to not have been isolated to any particular incompatibility with devices. To understand why multiple apps were affected by the bug, it helps to understand what the WebView app actually does. WebView is a vital part of the modern Android OS that allows apps to display web content while a user is in the app.2 The WebView app is a code library that developers can leverage to build their apps. In programming, a library is a dev's version of a real, physical library. Instead of books, files and snippets of code that perform certain functions are made available to developers so that their apps can benefit from using code that is already written instead of having to reinvent the wheel. There are several reasons why a developer might want to use a code library. Among these are the ability to make apps more compact, easier and faster to develop, and perhaps most importantly to the developer--libraries allow for greater abstraction. Abstraction of code refers to the process of making code less specific to a certain task and generally also makes it more legible and easier to troubleshoot as well as faster to write. For example, if a certain section of code will be used many times in a program, a developer might define that section of code as a function, module, or the equivalent in whatever language the code is in. Now that the section of code has been defined, it can be referenced any time it is needed for its purpose. Often, such function definitions will be placed in separate files, and a collection of these is called a "library." Google's WebView functions as a library that developers from Google and other software companies can use to display web content while in the confines of a given app. Many apps that have interfaces that function like the Chrome app rely on this functionality of WebView. A bug introduced in the WebView app will affect any app that uses the affected code. Since users don't directly launch the WebView app, it can be hard to pin down the actual culprit of such a bug. Developers can't just rely on user reports of WebView crashing; they have to instead find commonality between the crashes to find the root of the problem. Thankfully, with so many users and apps affected, Google was able to issue a fix within a day of the initial reports, which is to make sure that users' WebView and Chrome apps are up-to-date.1,3,4 Initially, users were being advised to roll back the updates to WebView via the "Uninstall" button in the Google Play Store.3 This article's author personally attempted resolving issues on the six devices of various owners with five of the attempts being successful on the newest devices, and the one failure being on the oldest device (a Galaxy S7 Edge). It seems that another temporary remedy for some older devices that have the WebView app permanently disabled was to uninstall updates to the "Google" and/or Chrome apps. This disparity of resolution between devices of different ages could be related to how the integration of WebView in Android has changed over time.2 Android users are encouraged to attempt to update their Chrome and WebView apps via the Play Store and developers should report any further issues to Google via the Android Issue Tracker.5 If your device does not function correctly after updating the affected apps, please give details about your device in the comments below. (sic)" 9To5Google: "PSA: If your Android apps keep crashing, update ‘WebView’ and Chrome [Permanent fix]" CNET: "Gmail and other Android apps crashing on phones: Here's Google's simple fix" Android Open Source Project: "Reporting Bugs" The article image is a composite image composed of a modified version of the WebView app icon and a modified CC licensed "bug" clip-art. I'd like to have a second mail but without loosing my current one. I have a stupid email name and i want to change it but its already into many web and non web platforms(legal contracts that mails are being kept on sheets of paper OH MY GOD), so i have to keep it either i like it or not. So i would like to have an other mail name and have both the new and the old one on my mail feed without changing emails every time i want to check my mailfeed. So i would like to have my 2 mails being diplayed at the same feed at the same time when i open gmail for example. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Hi, I use google chat (hangouts) gmail, my own custom email and telegram. Is there an app which combines all of them into one place. It has to be free and have a nice UI and if it was open source would be a nice thing but not necessary. (i don't mind having the emails separate.)

After a very Long Time India's google products are reported down. Services like YouTube, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Meet(the most important during online classes, many schools stopped at once), Google Classroom, Google Calendars, Google Play, Google Maps(Ubers in India has stopped now) and every other google based product in India has stopped. Google has never been down in Southern and Southeastern Asia for so long. This shows that something serious is happening in their servers. Summary Google is down in India, never had been down for a very long time. Down from 5:15 pm IST (or) 11:15 am GMT till the time of posting this issue. Quotes My thoughts This issue has never happened before, all google services going down in a relatively stable region. This is interesting to me because, whatever may be the issue; major corporations like Google should have backups if something ever fails. But, corporations are going above the line in the name of cost cutting and maximising margins. hi all, I'm part of a FIRST Robotics team, We have a G Suite account that my nonprofit used years ago. We have a password we remember from the past when it asks us for one. But when we log in, it asks us to verify using a phone. It doesn't give us the last digits of the phone number. and we have no idea what phone the account is connected to. This is also the G Suite Administrator account. Any ideas? I tried doing the CNAME method google recommends, but when I try to log in I don't get anything about a CNAME.

Hey guys, I recently decided to synchronize my outlook e-mail into my gmail email account, but I forgot to add to the settings to keep a copy of those mails on outlook. Now I have an empty outlook mail, which wasn't what I wanted lol. Is there a way to restore them back on it? I usually read my mails from gmail, but I'd like to have a copy of them into my outlook account.

First of all, let me clear a few things. I never sign in to Gmail yet alone my google account to any other device expect my one, which is not publicly accessible meaning people are unable to use my computer without me knowing. When I go to security sessions on google there are no recent signs ins, the only thing in that section is the 2 factor authentication i put on my account a few days ago. As for the current session section the only device there is mine and it says I'm logged in with 1 session running presumably mine i guess. It also says I use no other sites or apps that i use google to log in with and also no linked accounts associated with my google as well. In the screenshot provided shows the concurrent session which is referring to the other device, you can see it comes from an unknown access type but has the same IP and location as me. I want to reiterate I only use this device to sign into my google account and gmail, this is further proven by the fact that google says I only have one session open on this device in google security settings. Also we can see all the logins from me and the unknown acesss share the same IP and location. Sometimes the unknown logs into the gmail in the exact same time I do indicated by the date and time section. Help me figure this out please. Thank you kindly. I'm trying to login on my PC. I know my username and password for my google account, and I know I'm typing it in correctly. I'm looking at Recent Security Activity on my phone, and it isn't showing that I'm trying to login on my computer. It will send me 2FA prompts on my phone that I tap yes on, and nothing happens. "resend code" stays greyed out, and clicking "try another way" does nothing, doesn't change anything on the screen. But other things will show up in recent activity, for example, I never actually verified email B as a recovery email for email A, so I did that, and then "Verified Recovery Email 7:02PM" showed up in the recent activity box. I also went back to the original login page and hit "Forgot password" where it brings me to a screen with 3 options to verify identity, Tap yes on phone, get a text, or try another way. Clicking on any of them only highlights the choice and doesn't move forward to the next step. I can't seem to find any threads anywhere of someone with a similar issue. I've tried different gmail accounts, as well as Chrome, Firefox, AND Edge. At this point I'm thinking it might be something going on at Google and I just need to wait? Any tips?

Hi! I'm new to the forum, I tried to search for an issue similar to mine, but i coudn't find it. So here is my problem, I have a gmail account with a dot in it (since 2010) , and I have been recieving emails for the same adress but without the dot (It's the first time in all this years). I google it and found out that gmail treats both accounts as the same (https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7436150?hl=es-419), I'm really concern about privacy and really don't want to change my account is really an inconvenient, any ideas? Sorry if my english isn't good, it's not my main language. thanks!

Hi, I wonder if anyone knows of a way to limit how many messages gmail will download to a client by date (so either "download all messages from mm/dd/yy" or "download all messages from [x years] ago"). I know within gmail itself you can set it to download the most recent 1k, 2k, 5k or 10k messages, but I would prefer to set this by date. I also want to keep ALL messages on the server, I don't want to get rid of anything, just free up space on my drive. This can be for any FREE email client. I think Outlook has a date slider but annoyingly it isn't free and I don't want to spend money on an email client as they're so readily available (yes, I know it's easy to "find" online, but I want to keep things above board here). Thanks for the help!

So I just got the creators update for Windows 10, and after seeing the Mail app pinned to my taskbar, and I decided it would be good to finally give the mail app a shot. It's actually really good, and I like it so far. The only problem I have is this: The way I have my Gmail account set up, I keep everything in my inbox and use labels to sort them, as opposed to moving them into labelled folders. Mail (Win10) does not work this way. If I move a topic to a folder on the app, it disappears from my inbox, which is not what I want. Is there a way in Windows 10's mail app to make the app keep the "Inbox" label, and add the (ie.) "Reciepts" label? Even if it requires a registry tweak or something crazy, I wouldn't care. I just really want this to be possible ?

email What is your personal email provider?
captain_to_fire posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
I think for a lot of older people, they started out with AOL but for me, my first email account was Yahoo! Mail back in 2003. But then Yahoo's spam filters are terrible and messages like "Canadian pharmacy and Rolex for less" so I decided to delete my Yahoo! Mail in 2009 and go with Hotmail for a while. But then, almost everyone I know is using Gmail so in 2010 I created a Gmail which is indeed cleaner looking and ads are less obtrusive unlike Outlook and Yahoo. Outlook's obtrusive ads vs Gmail's ads Also with Gmail, every message I click, the message is front and center unlike in Outlook where ads obstruct the view plus the message sidebar can't be removed. My iCloud Mail is mostly for Amazon though. The only advantage I can see for iCloud Mail is that it's free and it doesn't have any ads so yay for privacy. -
Google has introduced a new, increased security option for Google Accounts. Essentially, it adds an additional level of protection to your Google account - a physical key. You can register a physical key as well as a bluetooth dongle with your account. This code generator key will be required to log in on a new device. Codes from software authenticators and mobile phone verification attempts will no longer be valid. Advanced Protection bans all third party applications from accessing your account. This means that third party applications, for example honey pots placed by security services or criminals, will no longer be able to access your Google account. It unfortunately also means no more importing of your Google calendar to Outlook, using the default Mail app on your iPhone or even logging into Gmail on a browser that isn't Chrome. Additionally, there are more hoops to jump through to recover your account than usual if you lose your Security Keys and your account credentials. Advanced Protection is available as of today at the link below. I think this is an important tool for people who need to keep their correspondence and correspondents away from prying eyes. Journalists, political activists and victims of domestic abuse are all potential users of this feature. However, it will of course mean more inconvenience (not to mention the money you will have to spend on hardware code tokens), so I think that most people won't turn it on. It will also be interesting to see what happens when the first law enforcement agency tries to gain access to a protected account by force, and whether Google is willing or even capable of helping in this case if the security tokens are destroyed.
