This is problem I've been having for many years. In Windows 10, after shutting down my PC, the machine won't power down completely nor go to sleep. The motherboard and fans just keep working. Here is the plot-twist > after installing Windows 11 the problem just went away. The PC goes to sleep and shuts down properly. Since I have quite an old system, I'm not meeting the system requirements on Win11. Also, after some time and updates, I started to experience quite a lag [especially when navigating through File Explorer], so I had revert to Win10. Even tho it's an old machine, over the years I've upgraded all of its parts, except the MB and the CPU. My main use is for architectural BIM, CAD and rendering work, and it still keeps up with my demands. I'm not in a position to buy a new machine, so I've been hoping to get at least a year or two more from it, but this problem is driving me nuts. I've tried every "fix" I could find out there and nothing works. - fast boot, -drivers, - sleep states, - power options.... Nothing. Another problem is that the MB manufacturer [Foxconn] has taken the support site down years ago, so I've been relying on what Microsoft provides for drivers. Not that Foxconn was updating the drivers. I've even tried updating the drivers via third-party channels. Except, maybe, for the BIOS, but for the life of me I cannot find a legit BIOS update to try that last "solution". Also, from what I can tell, I'm probably on the last BIOS version for my MB, nevertheless. If someone could help me figure out why I'm having this problem only in Windows 10 and maybe help me fix it, I would be eternally grateful. Basically: Should I use an update tool which is designed for windows 7 but is running on windows 10 in compatibility mode to update my bios. Explanation: So the problem is my ddr3 memory is currently running at 800mhz. I've go into my bios to try and change the speed and the only options are 800mhz or Auto and both yield the same results. There is a jumper on the board labelled 133mhz mem oc and I have tried to use this but moving it's position to the other pins upsets the motherboard and sends out an memory error bios code even though the memory i'm trying to use is 133mhz rated. My bios isn't the latest version though and I believe updating may solve my problem however, the tool used to update it "Fox Live Update" is designed to be used for up to windows 7 and to get it to show any correct information about my system I had to install it using the windows compatibility tool. My over arching question about this issue is do I A:Use this tool in compatibility mode which may have unknown consequences or do I use the very old hard drive running windows XP which is also supported by the tool? Any insight would be really appreciated Details About the System are in the text file System Info.txt

Foxconn is planning to build a display manufacturing plant in the US after acquiring Sharp. The value of the plant may exceed $7 billion dollars and would create about 50,000 jobs. They are still looking at the best location for building such a plant, so far their main choice is Pennsylvania, after Foxconn had a holiday party over there. But it's not finalized yet, and other states can still submit their best offer with Foxconn. http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-foxconn-could-build-display-plant-in-united-states-2017-1

Article from Macrumors: http://www.macrumors.com/2016/12/02/foxconn-manager-stolen-iphones/ First reported by Business Insider: http://www.businessinsider.com/foxconn-senior-manager-allegedly-stole-5700-iphones-sold-1-5-million-shenzen-china-2016-12 In August, it was reported that Foxconn's profits had declined 31 percent in the second quarter of 2016, affected by the iPhone sales slump Apple faced at the same time this year. For the entire quarter, Foxconn made 17.7 billion New Taiwan dollars, down from NT$25.7 billion a year prior. I can imagine the faces of Apple execs after knowing this. This is kinda similar with the 2011 news when Apple products are smuggled to China using zipline and cross bow. Bite me Apple.

Hello I have salvaged these two fans from two old computers I have. I'm planning on installing one of them in my current PC. Yes, I know they are probably not great, but It's a temproary solution. I'm gonna replace all my fans with corsair ones at some point anyway. Which fan should I install? I know nothing about these manufacturers. They look very similar, and they are the same size.

https://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2019/12/taiwans-mr-x-worked-with-foxconn-plant-managers-to-purchase-defective-iphone-parts-illegally-and-made-a-killing.html Apple reportedly started an investigation after being tipped off by the one the guys involved in the scheme after running it for 3 years. It seems like he just handed Apple a gift against the right to repair guys. Also, I wonder why Apple did not start this investigation when Strange Parts showed how readily available parts were in China on YouTube: I watched the videos about how a fairly recent for the time iPhone was produced using nothing but spare parts when they were new. Things that could not be fabricated outside of Apple’s supply chain such as complete logic boards containing Apple’s SoC were in such an abundance that it should have been a sign that a factory somewhere might have been leaking them, but Apple seems to have ignored that. Edit: Another video showing where some of the defective phone parts from the factory might have ended up:

Mumbai/Delhi: Apple Inc. will begin assembling its top-end iPhones in India through the local unit of Foxconn Technology Co. Ltd as early as 2019, the first time the Taiwanese contract manufacturer will have made the product in the country, according to three people familiar with the matter. Importantly, Foxconn will be assembling the most expensive models, such as the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR, the person said, potentially taking Apple’s business in India to a new level. The work will take place at Foxconn’s plant in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, the person added. Foxconn, which already makes phones for Xiaomi Corp. in India, will invest ₹2,500 / $ 325 million crore to expand the plant, including investment in iPhone production, Tamil Nadu’s industries minister M.C. Sampath told Reuters. The investment may create as many as 25,000 jobs, he added. A second person declined to be named as this person is not authorised to speak to the media. A third person confirmed Foxconn planned to assemble iPhones in India. Summary Foxconn increasing their non-China manufacturing presence in order to avoid tariffs imposed on electronics originated from China. Quotes My thoughts With the increase of tensions between China and the USA, this shift of manufacturing process out of China will be a win for consumers. The cost of importing electronics from China have increase quite considerably over the last couple of years due to tit-for-tat increases in tariffs across the board. It is unlikely that these savings will be passed down to consumers in the form of lowered prices for goods, but it would reason to say that landed costs for the manufacturing to delivery will stay rather steady. A working threadripper cpu in a AORUS gaming 7 x399 that had been working no problem. After a reset the cpu indicator light turn on and no post. Is it possible that because it is a foxconn socket that the cpu somehow becomes not seated properly and now the system is not working? Has anyone heard of this happening?

So I have an old machine that I want to know more about upgrading, and if it's even worth it. The computer is an HP Compaq 500b MT. I know there are different variations, so I'll just include what it has in it (from stock or by upgrading). It has a Foxconn 2A8Ch with a G41 Chipset, 4GB of Dual Channel "400MHz" DDR3 RAM (so I'm guessing it's 800MHz DDR3, and 2x2GB is the most the Mobo allows). A 160GB WD Drive and a 320GB Samsung Drive (both HDD). And a GPU I had from an old Sony Vaio, which has 128MB of DDR (the name is strange, according to Speccy it's an ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050) which I'm mainly using for the DVI port. As for the CPU it's packing a Pentium E5400 Dual Core at 2.7GHz. This is where my question lies, I want to upgrade from a dual core to a quad core, but I want to know how much of a difference it will make, if it's worthwhile (and if so, what C2Q to get), and if it's even compatible. I have looked around and found very little information on this PC or this motherboard so anything helps. Thanks in advance!

According to the official CPU Support List provided by Foxconn, a FX 8350 is not officially supported. I found a Foxconn A88GMX for C$75 on ebay so I would like to use it on a FX 8350. Do you think this should work?

Hello everyone! I have a question. I have this Foxconn A690GM2MA AMD Athlon 64 x2, 2400 MHz 4600+ 1GB DDR2 RAM @ 800 MHz (i don't know the model of it) Radeon X1300/X1550 Series (512 mb vram) and some psu (not sure about model) but it does the job. So my question is should i upgrade this to a 8 or so gb of ram and a better video card (wanting your opinion for a good price to performance GPU) with a budget of about $150 for it. Or my second option is to just sell this for as much as i can possibly get and add some more money and build a mid spec gaming pc (keeping in mind that i have all the needed peripherals and a box so all i really nead is the general components).

Just to clear, Made in India and Make in India are two different things. : http://blogs.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Swaminomics/make-in-india-and-manufacture-in-india-are-two-different-things/ The Indian expansion plans come soon after the company closed a mobile phone plant in southern India, prompting protests from some of the workforce of about 1,700 people. Foxconn did not elaborate on the reasons for the closure beyond citing changes in its customer base. Gou said in an interview on the outskirts of Guiyang in China's southern Guizhou province, where the company already operates a manufacturing plant and data centre. The announcement makes Foxconn the latest tech powerhouse to set its sights on the world's second-most populous nation. It follows smartphone company Xiaomi Inc, which in March announced plans to begin manufacturing in India. Foxconn's move comes as it grapples with rising expenses at its 25 manufacturing sites in China, where wages have more than doubled since 2010. It was not immediately known how many jobs the proposed new plants would eventually create. In addition to Chinese brands, Foxconn is aiming to cooperate with local companies such as Micromax Informatics, which ranks second to Samsung Electronics as India's largest smartphone maker. The new Indian plants will be modelled on Foxconn's Guiyang facility, That plant is part of the company's push to develop China's less-industrialised interior, which includes a factory producing iPhones for Apple. No concrete deal has been reached, but Foxconn is already conducting feasibility studies for the investments and Gou said he hopes to sign a contract by the end of this year. So....now the HDD storage drive I installed in this new office PC, is not showing up in windows, and only shows up in the BIOS under the save and exit page, below the option for "boot override" However, the drive does not show up in boot order. I have tried diskmgmt.msc. The drive shows up as "Drive 0" and shows something 998gb available, but does not show up at the top under volumes. I clicked on drive 0, clicked "convert to dynamic drive" because I couldn't find format. I checked the cables I check the sata ports switched both. set windows to not hide empty drives i the computer folder. Still does not show up in the computer folder. What do?

So. I just got done building my mom's new office PC, and I was doing the initial setup, installing drivers etc. I had just installed the Chipset drivers off of the disc, LAN drivers, and USB 3.0 drivers. Then the PC rebooted. Now, upon restart, the Keyboard and Mouse will not work in any USB port. They both work in the bios, but not in windows. Before you ask, I do not have a PS2 keyboard or mouse. Not really sure what to do at this point. Suggestions?

Foxconn Technology Group, is a Taiwanese multinational electronics contract manufacturing company, who make for example (but not limited to) iPhones, iPad, Playstation4, Nintendo Wii U and Amazon Kindle. (Yes really) So this headline caught my eye "Foxconn to build 12 factories, employ 1 million in India" http://www.business-standard.com/article/companies/foxconn-to-build-12-factories-employ-1-million-in-india-115071400464_1.html The production quality might be little questionable at the beginning. So "yay".

Due to the difficulty and cost of shipping large panels across the Pacific, Foxconn announced they are considering opening a manufacturing plant in the U.S. We've seen this trend in recent years with a few companies, but this move actually seems to be based on economic reasons. While Foxconn isn't very popular with many of us due to their treatment of employees, they are taking steps to bring jobs back to the U.S. Hopefully they'll treat their employees like humans, and just maybe, pay them above minimum wage Source: http://www.theverge.com/2014/1/26/5348258/foxconn-could-start-manufacturing-large-displays-in-the-us
