I have a simple question.. i watched some videos of 3060ti and 3070 teardown.. and in founder edition the heatsink and the pcb looks identical to me.. I bought a 3070 founder from my friend without its cooler (he was using it in his watercooled pc and lost the stock cooler) in a really good price.. it will ship to me in a week.. i have a dead 3060ti founders.. So can anyone confirm me if the cooler and heatsink is same on both cards?

Like the title says, I need to know what's going to give me the best shot at getting a 3080 Founders at MSRP. The only valid seller I'm aware of is Best Buy. I have a client (a buddy) who currently has my 2070S in his build...he had an opportunity cost he needed a PC to meet, so I had to loan it to him to get the sale at all. I want my 2070S back, but he only wants the founders version of the 3080 he paid me to get him. People have pointed me to Discord, that there are channels that advertise when there's stock, but the ones I've looked at don't list the Founders card at Best Buy. They look at Amazon, NewEgg, B&H, etc. and seem to list only AIB cards. I've heard that Best Buy e-mail stock notifications are garbage, and will come several hours after they've already sold out - if they ever send the e-mail. I'll do the work and play the game, I don't want to pay for a bot to go buy it for me or something like that. I just need to know when it's in stock to be able to play the game. I can't sit and refresh Best Buy endlessly. I have a day job, and I can't divert my attention from it like that. I can if it's for like 10 minutes every day. Any ideas? Is there a specific Discord I need to be looking at for this? Are there typical days/times that Best Buy restocks them? Or am I just SOL?

Any time I look at a Founders Edition card - I like it. I understand the 10-series GPUs are essentially the same along the same line - but the Founders just keep attracting my eye. Like an especially well-made car on a lot filled with mostly similar stuff. Btw, I own an EVGA GTX SC 1070 (at the time all FEs were ~$50 more expensive - and still are, mostly) Just wanted to express that in case anyone else enjoys that design

So, I learned that one can very much easily install an evga hybrid aio from the 900 series cards onto any 10 series card really. Only thing is that you won't be able to install the faceplate. The temperature improvements from stock cooling to liquid cooling are so great that I can easily over clock to 2.1ghz and only have the card run at 60c max. Threw in some images of the card inside and outside the pc to show how it looks.

Founders edition GTX 1080Ti or Aorus GTX 1080 Ti? $700 vs $780 respectively (USD).

I'm looking to upgrade my rig to run at 4k with smoother game play. I bought a GTX 1080 Founders Edition when they came out, and I was wondering if I could get the ASUS GTX 1080 ROG Strix OC Edition, which would have a higher boost clock and core clock, to do SLI. Is that possible? Would they be compatible?

Hi there, so I need to buy a USB 3.1 expansion card, but when I install it, it'll turn my PCI-E 2.0 x16 for the GTX 1080 into a x8 in terms of bandwidth - how much will this impact performance at 1440p?

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my old GPU and have decided to go with a GTX 1070. I've been looking at all the different versions and almost none of them manage to caught my eye. That being said, my setup consists of black/grey, and white. So I was wondering if a founders edition would be worth the money if it dropped to somewhere around the $420 mark: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G4AY2765&cm_re=1070_founders-_-14-125-870-_-Product To be honest I'm kind of a sucker for the reference design of the Pascal family. The other card I was looking at was a newly released card, the MSI Quick Silver GTX 1070: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137046&cm_re=quick_silver-_-14-137-046-_-Product which goes for $450 or $430 if you take advantage of the MIR. What would be the best card to go with considering they are around the same price? (Yes I am aware there are better versions of the 1070 out there but these are the only two whose design I absolutely love)

Hello, So...I had the opportunity to receive an Nvidia RTX 2080 FE and swap it for my EVGA GTX1070TI FTW2.Till now, all is good to say so in terms of build quality. The card is very well put together, premium material used for the back plate, fans, the display port and hdmi connectors look solid, also if you put the card in front of the light you can see that almost the entire back plate has contacts with the card itself and no light is passing through. The problem I am facing is that I got used to the 0db of the previous card and when I listen to music and photo editing I hear the fans of the card that from what I have read the cannot be slowed below 40% ±1500rpm.Now I am thinking if I made a good deciding with the swam despite the increased performance and maybe a better card for the long run. Has anyone found a way to lower the fan RPM of the card? I also notice that in the BIOS post the fans of the card run at lower RPM till it reaches Desktop.I also tried MSI afterburner and the new Software from EVGA but no results.Fans don't go lower than 40%. Please share some info if there is some and what do you think, will there be any BIOS update in the near future?! Regards, Flaviu

Hi Guys, Is anyone aware of a database of which 3090s will use what PCB type? i ask because I would like to grab a waterblock day 1. EKWB has a block but only for Reference PCBs. Now the question is, what is a reference PCB? This card has a PCB that extends roughly 1-2cm above the PCIE bracket - is this non-reference? compatible with EKWB? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus-geforce-rtx-3090-rog-strix-gaming-oc-24gb-gddr6x-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-44j-as.html This GPU has a PCB that aligns to the PCIE bracket. Is this Reference? compatible with EKWB? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-geforce-rtx-3090-ventus-3x-oc-24gb-gddr6x-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-36a-ms.html And finally, we have the Founders 3090, which appears to have the 1-2cm extension Curious what you guys are thinking! https://www.overclockers.co.uk/pc-components/graphics-cards/nvidia/geforce-rtx-3090 check out the variants here. Also curious if the ASUS cards with their extra port will be compatible with majority of blocks. I'm thinking not... but then again, its just an upward extension. Maybe? I love new tech.

New to the pc world.....AiB or Founders? What matters most in a GPU? Should I look and compare based off core clocks, boost clocks, memory, cooling? Just looking for a free tech tip.

So I've been searching for a RGB water block I can mount onto a GTX 1080 from the Nvidia-Store in the Founders Edition. When looking at the EK Waterblocks Webpage and accessing their custom loop configurator, I had to enter my graphics card model. But when I enter "GTX 1080 Founders Edition", it shows me like 20 different founders editions from various manufacturers. Which edition am I using when buying from the official Nvidia store?

I played some PUBG and watched some YouTube videos today, and when I went to check the temperature of my Founder's Edition GTX 1080, it was 81C, or 179F. I'm very worried about this. My case is the H440 if anyone is wondering

Hi! I am planning to buy a GTX 1080. But the thing is, the founders 1080 is about $80 US cheaper than the Gigabyte GTX 1080 Gaming G1. Should I spend the extra $80 dollars to get the gigabyte one to get better cooling and potentially better overclockability? Or should I just get the reference one? Is there gonna be a big difference in the maximum overclock that I can reach in the gigabyte one when compared to the founders edition? PS- Noise is not a big issue for me as I am gonna a use a headphone anyway. Also, I have read that the founders edition sold on the Nvidia site are better binned. Is that true?

So I just traded my Ztoac 1070 mini for an EVGA founders edition (purely for cosmetic reasons, the mini was way too small in my case.) Has anyone found a good way to modify the card to change the color of the Geforce logo? I did a bit of searching earlier but only found good info on modifying the 900 series and earlier cards. I'd be willing to buy something pre-made or modify the card myself, but wanted to know if anyone had any good resources before I tear it apart and start trying anything potentially damaging. Without dismantling the card, it seems to be a rubberized plastic that's dyed green and black. Ideally I'd change it to white and purple to match the rest of the build, but I'd accept just about anything that's less... green... The build is otherwise entirely white, purple, grey and black with some subtle blue accents on the motherboard. Green Isn't really going well with it.

I wanna know if I can tweak a Founder's edition 1080 TI to perform like a Asus strix or EVGA card. Prices are crazy and I am water cooling anyway can I make it run close the the 2.1 GHz range?

Hello again! On my last post i was recently recommended aftermarket cards over the founders edition variant. Many specified large / huge improvements in performance. Could anybody who has experience with founders and aftermarket cards give me an avg difference in fps and temps. My reason for considering a founder edition card is due to pricing in my area, founders GTX 1080ti's will run me £679 while aftermarket ones will run me £749-£1000 Is it worth the price difference? Thanks for the help!

Hi all Installed my 1070 into my new case today (the above), already somewhat fearing what may happen to the card under load. As expected, due to the restrictive space below the GPU in the case (something I only thought passingly about), the card rapidly heated up to the mid 60's, at nearly 85% fan speed. The ACX cooler is really quiet, but even it was near jet engine like. Airflow is 1x 200mm (yes, 200) intake at the front, 2x 120mm at the top, and 120mm exhaust at the back. I'm still WELL within the return period. Do I initiate and get a Founder's instead? Or a different 1070 model? I feel like a founders would actually be cooler and more stable, in a rare case of it having an advantage over the more standard open faced cards. Thoughts?

Ok, so here's my problem. Had the MoBo in my current PC's GPU power delivery die, so in replacing the components / new rig build I snagged a Founders GTX 1070. My original intention was to get a 980Ti then upgrade to a TitanX later down the road. As I thought about it, I don't have the intentions to game heavily at 4k - I'm perfectly happy with 2k. From the little that I've read the 1070 will perform great on 2k and even decent on 4k if I ever get the itch. My question is if it's cost-effective to upgrade to a 1080 (or 1080Ti) from the 1070? Working with a 6700k, Asus Sabertooth Z170 Mk1 with 16Gbs (to start), and fed by a 850w Corsair Gold PSU. Also, does the market anticipate a drop in price for the TitanX anytime in the near future, or does it's performance guarantee it to be a high price point?

So ive basically been asking everyone for help >.> sorry. ------------------------------------ with the founders edition card i only have a single 8pin pcie power. i was wondering at what point do i need to start messing with voltage? i Usally use EVGA precision X but due to the fact only EVGA cards can make use of the built in Auto overclock function im left having to do this myself. was told by a few of my mates over discord that " No u dont have to up voltage on the 1080 blah blah blah " and that i should " just up the mem after u max out the core clocks, if u crash just dail it back" well since gtx 1080 founders which are the cheapest in australia [ no longer really sold anyway ] and is $1200 im a bit worried how i should start. with my gpu over clocking i was fine with the trail and error process since the board and cpu only cost 1 / 3 of the gpu. -- should i stick to precision as i like and find it easy to use or go back to afterburner? Also can i get some advice or a very basic idea of where i should start please? hope this all made sense. sorry

Hello! I recently purchased the Nvidia 1070 Founders Edition graphics card to go along with my Intel i5-6600k processor and 16gbs of RAM. I am running the OEM version of Windows 10 if that helps. Anyways, I feel like I am not getting the right performance when I started using the new card. Its weird because I was coming from a GTX 970 and almost feel like its identical to that performance. I will run the bench marking software I use, 3DMark and get a score of 4900 just like I did or close to like I did with the GTX 970. Its really low compared to what others are getting with the same specs. Please help me, I am sure I goofed somewhere and just need to be told where. Thanks so much!

Hello friendly folk, So I'm in a predicament, which began several weeks ago. My XFX r9 280X started to artifact, and I contacted support. Support, after a few weeks, discovered that the card was a refurb (I bought it as "new") given as replacement to an RMA, and the warranty expired in December (darn eBay liars.) Before this was known, support offered a BIOS update, which made things worse: It would crash under load. This means no gaming and sometimes some choppy web browsing. I find the timing of this happening to be slightly, erm, untimely. Long story short, I'm upgrading to the 1080, once it comes out. Background out of the way, I am trying to decide whether to buy a Founders edition card at the $700 price tag (I know that it's just the reference card) or wait to see what the AIB partners have to offer. I'll break down my issue into a few questions. How long will it take (approximately or generally) for the AIB partners to release their custom cards? I'm looking for non-reference air cooled cards, with the possibly lower price tag? Might the custom air cooled cards be better than the Founders reference at the lower price tag (this is a subjective/ambiguous question, I know)? Should I wait to see what the AIB partners have to offer before buying the 1080? Thank you very much for the input. Just for kicks, I'll give you my specs: Intel Core i7 6700K (currently non-OC) CM Hyper 212 Evo (I can get a stable 4.5 GHz OC at 75C under load) 2x8GB G.skill Ripjaws V DDR4 Gigabyte Z170-HD3P Antec 750W PSU

Paying an extra 100 USD for purchase of the GTX 1080 on release date. Would it be worth it or to just wait for non ref cards? I'd scoff at the question except 1) Nvidia's got to be somewhat confident of the quality of its ref. card if it's offering it for the entirety of the card's run and 2) I thought I read somewhere that FE wasn't literally the ref. card, but rather had an upgraded/more efficient power system. I do realize however that the general consensus is that the +100 USD is just a way to appease partners and avoid cannibalisation and that non ref cards would probably OC way higher at a lower price point. Corrections to my patchy knowledge are welcomed, derision and mockery not so much. +) There are purple ones, what? ?!
