OK so I've had my hands in several pcs being built. I love the process of building as much as I love playing. So I started with a small case built it and was good for a bit. Got with a buddy and rebuilt mine his and both of our son's with enough spare parts to build a spare pc. So let me try to run down the list of everything I've got before I go on. Ryzen 7 5800x MSI B550 gaming MB Sapphire pulse 7900xtx 64gb corsair vengeance 3600 1tb corsair storage 1000 watt corsair psu Corsair aio 6 corsair fans Lian Li rgb extension cables So I've spent a good bit of money upgrading and now it doesn't matter what I play it crashes. From pal world to helldivers to rdr2. For a while I would boot up, verify files, restart and it would be OK. Not no matter what I try after a few minutes of play it either crashes or my entire computer restarts out of the blue. I've tried to get Amazon(via new world) and cdprojektred (cyberpunk) to tell me what's going on with crash reports with no responses. I've upped my power limits, I've taken the entire pc apart and put it back together, I've done a factory reset back to nothing. I have no clue what is wrong or what could be causing it. I get no actual error messages or anything. Nothing that I see should be causing this and the pc itself isn't telling me anything. I'm about to just take the thing and throw it in a local creek and go back to my crappy Xbox. Any ideas anyone has or thoughts or anything is very well appreciated.

HWinfo displayed a max CPU temprature of 102,5°C! I have a Ryzen 5 3600xt and a stock cooler on top of it with the pre-applied thermal paste. My case is a be quiet pure base 500 which came with 2 pre-installed fans. Any thing I can do to lower the temperature? I dont want my cpu to die.

Hey all. I was wondering if anyone could diagnose what is causing my PC to have extreme lag spikes? It started happening about a month ago and I have had this PC setup for years without any troubles. Overwatch is the worst, but all games have very noticeable lag spikes. I have lag that freezes my PC for seconds at a time, it is horrendous when I first start playing but gradually gets better and better. For example in Overwatch, I'll get these extreme lag spikes for about 30ish minutes of gameplay. After that, it'll be as smooth as butter. I have attached an example of the lag I experience below (and in fact I think it was very tame in this example compared to usual): My specs: GPU: GTX 1070 CPU: i7 4790k RAM: 16GB 2133MHz Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Ranger PSU: EVGA Super Nova NEX750B 750W Resolution: 2560*1440p Thanks for any help! PS: I do not believe it is a SSD/hard drive problem as I installed Overwatch on 3 of my drives and all of them had this result.

Hi guys, I was refilling my waterloop a couple of days ago. Everything was right so far and no water touched the electronics. When loading my OC profile back in, my pc went off and a sneaky beaky waterdrop, sitting right below the cooler was hopping onto the Mainboard like a killer ninja destroying a psu. Contacting Asus did result in some: "Go look on ebay... Maybe you´ll find a guy selling some parts from his mainboard! " Asking for the schematics or a bill of materials just got blocked of.. OK well... I understand that... I´m working as an PCB-Designer in a small company, so I´m pretty familiar with mainboards n stuff, but I dont´t know what kind of PSU is that, sitting right below the CPU (shown in picture)... I guess it is some kind of IO-Driver PSU for the PCIe and chipset lanes? I know, I could just get a new Mainboard on ebay for cheap, but I really put some time into that one, making it the way i want it. I.e. I cut down the socket to get the delid die guard installed on the 8700k; I have done some mods to the Vcore-PSUs; and I removed all the rgb stuff (don´t blame me! I don´t like rgb flashing around next to me while I´m working, thats all) What I´m looking for here is to gather some information about the layout of those boards, to get a better understanding of what might be potentially broken right now. You know... Its always better to know what you want to fix before u try to fix it... I already ordered a new board to use it as a source for replacement parts. Kind regards, Alex

Hello everyone , first post :) I am starting my first PC build in almost a decade since my previous one , am a little bit rusty and am having some unexpected trouble getting my mobo installed. Am using a corsair 1000D case and a Rampage Extreme Omega Mobo. The problem is that I can only screw in 5 of the 8 screws for securing the motherboard to the case. The screws just wont reach far enough to meet the threads of the standoffs already mounted in place by Corsair. The cause of this seems to be the motherboard's backplate which covers the part of the board that those 3 screws are supposed to go , basically rendering the motherboard a few mm thicker in that area , thus the screws are just too short to reach the threads they were supposed to go in. What should I do ? the mobo seems very securely held with those 5 screws....... Do i really need those extra 3 ? Or should i try to buy longer screws and put them in ? Or should I try to remove the mobo back plate ? (something am really not looking forward to doing since am a bit of a noob )

Asus Maximus IX Extreme is finally on sale. Price is not cheap at $600+, it's the best you can get, for those that's planning to do some extreme water cooling setup. One of the unique features is the bundle monoblock by Bitspower, where it cools the CPU and surrounding VRMs. It's cassette like design, with 2 port holes, with sensors that can trigger a shutdown when it detects a leak. Also built into the monoblock is a flow meter, and no more spending hours on the internet, flipping coins, bending cpu pins, when having a dilemma on which color coolant you want, cause that thing also does RGB. Rest of the specs are listed Socket 1151 for Intel 6th and 7th gen processors 64GB max DDR4 non-ECC unbuffered DDR4 up to 4133MHz(oc) 3x physical PCIe x16 and 1x physical PCIe x4. Note that when PCIe x4 is running at full mode, one of the M.2 and 4 of the SATA ports will not work Supports 2-way Nvidia SLI at x8/x8 or 3-way AMD CFX at x8/x8/x4 8x SATA 6Gb/s and 2x M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4, supports both PCIe and SATA USB 3.0 and 3.1 internal headers 6x USB 3.0, 2x USB 3.1 type A and type C with Thunderbolt 3, Intel gigabit lan, Wifi+Bluetooth, LED illuminated audio jacks+S/PDIF out, video connector outputs, Clear CMOS and USB Bios Flash back buttons Dual Bios with LED indicator and bios switch button DIMM bank indicator LEDs with Jumpers to disable faulty ram banks Quick diagnostic LEDs for CPU, GPU, Memory, and Boot Drive Onboard Start / Reset, MemOK!, Retry, Safeboot, buttons, QLED Debug Code Slow mode for LN2 and Asus Authorized technicians only RSVD toggle switch 2x 4pin chassis, 2x 4pin water pump, 8x 4pin Radiator, 2x water cooling thermal sensor for both IN and OUT, 1x flow rate sensor Asus monoblock by Bitspower with installation materials M.2 heatsink 3D Print mounts Asus Aura RGB 3 years warranty for motherboard from Asus, 1 year warranty + 3 year pay maintenance service for monoblock from Bitspower https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-IX-EXTREME/overview/

Hello guys, this is the first time I've experienced this, so I would like a little bit of advice. The card has amazing cooling and never goes over 60-63C, BUT when the load exceeds 90% an audible hiss sound (coil whine?) starts getting emitted. It is definitely not from the fans! My PSU is around a 4 year old Seasonic 650W M12II Bronze, my mobo is Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 3 with i7-6700K. I think the psu is absolutely enough and is definitely good quality, so I suspect that power it supplies to the GPU (2x8-pin) is not that "dirty". This is the answer I got from Zotac (written is very broken english ): " Dear Sir, The graphic integrated many coils. When the card loading increase, the coils will shake more and generate some noise. This is normal behaviour of electronic products For the card refund or replacement, please check the from card seller. Thank you. " So is it really normal to have coil whine that loud, mind you it is audible while the PC (note that the PC is absolutely silent!) is on the ground and around a meter and a half away from me ?

Hello! I recently got a new cooler and wanted to overclock my cpu (i7-6700K) so i went to the cpu core/cache voltage to set it to manual and saw it was already set to 1,36 but then i changed it to manual and set the voltage ovveride to 1.350 and the core voltage was still 1,36 also under stress test it passes up to 1.4v at max even when i set it to 1.35 so i saw this guide with this image that have a way different core voltage so my question is: it normal for me to have 3.6 instead of 1.280? i cant change the core/cache at all and i just wanted to test this specific guide out and this is all thats bumming me out Sorry for bad english EDIT: My motherboard is asus maximus viii extreme

Ok so here's the deal, My grades have been terrible throughout my high school career. I'm about a quarter of the way through my senior year and I have almost all A's. My dad was so surprised that he said if I got a 4.0 GPA He would get me ANY laptop I wanted. So now comes the search for the most costly laptop I can get my hands on. It's easy to find the most expensive laptop but I want this to be fairly realistic for college. so things like the Acer preditor 21x are probably not a good option. Any recommendations? (I'm going to be doing some editing and gaming and I don't want it to be huge because of college and such) Anything helps! Thanks!

If I had ton of money, close to 10k, would this build be a good showcase of both my money and my knowledge, or is it something that looks like it's put together by a ten year old? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9yhyLD I added many extra parts because I have a Desk PC build planned, and if somehow I came across this kind of money, this what I would build into the desk. And it would destroy both the compensator 2.0 and Linus' desk PC combined

Being a liquid cooling enthusiast, I have come to consider a series of trials attempting to find a daily use sub-zero cooling solution whether reliable or not. As running groups of large Rads, all with running industrial fans cooling each individual Rad has proven not enough in reaching sub-zero temps (especially when running continuously at extremely high overclocks). I have come to attempt rather less-conventional methods in cooling my whole PC at sub-zero temps including submerging my Rads in antifreeze, and cooling the antifreeze with disassembled A/C units and or a deep-freeze, and even full-on submerging my PC (obliviously not at full on Sub-Zero temps though, that would damage the motherboard). All found the same results with unstable temps, reaching above 0 C temps (as in up to 70 C) when under full load for extended periods, further making my overclocks unstable and thermal throttle at extreme overclocks. What I'd like to hear is whether or not someone else possibly, has found better (more sub-zero inclined) liquids possible of holding my hardware stable, even if it only works with a hella janky setup. I understand that this is a rather complex question requiring mucho of experienca (my best Spanish) and likely won't get a clear answer for quite some time, but I also would like to hear some opinions on the matter and discuss the topic in general with like minds, I think this could prove to be a quite interesting topic.

So I’m looking to build a new a pc with a budget of 3000-3500 dollars, my motherboard is a ASUS ROG Maximus Extreme XI (EATX) and the case I was going for was the NZXT H700i however it won’t support an EATX, therefore I looked around and found this https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categories/Products/Cases/Software-Control-and-Monitoring-Cases/Obsidian-Series-500D-RGB-SE-Premium-Mid-Tower-Case/p/CC-9011139-WW#tab-overview which is a Corsair case that says it won’t support EATX however when I looked at pc part picker it said it was compatible. Can you guys tell me if it will fit? I have been looking around for a while but I can’t the answer , Thanks in advance.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-2IYm3aBYT3uKQiIjgI_nwKArXCIZzMF/view?usp=sharing (video) Hey everyone i own a dell inspiron 7567 laptop over the past couple of months i have been having trouble with my laptop's gaming performance So naturally after weeks of talking with dell they asked me to do a system reinstall and asked to check my performance and later since there was no improvement they replaced my motherboard and my graphics card along with the cooling fans Even after this i did not get any improvement in my PC's gaming performance so they suggested me to use -: "Intel Extreme Tuning Utility" and set the "Core voltage offset" to "-0.100" from "0" and asked me to record my issues The laptop was working fine when suddenly after like a day it suddenly turned off without any warning or error message not even BSOD I have attached a video stating what is happening exactly (attached a gdrive share link at the end of the document and in the beginning) This happend first and i tried to run System repaid and System Restore but nothing fixed the problem However inspite of all this i was able to boot into Safe mode with networking (Thats how im making this post here) safe mode works fine without any crashes Then i followed a few steps like doing a SFC scan which said windows found some corrupt files and could not fix them then after following a few steps from the internet and with no luck with them too i decided to do a complete OS reinstall I have 2 hard disk one normal 1TB hard disk and 1 256gb M.2 SATA SSD (Windows is in the SSD) i created a bootable usb and booted in with it and formatted my C drive ie my SSD and performed a clean install of windows and ran SFC scan again this time too it raised a few errors but this time it said windows successfully repaired all the files and after a reboot i performed another scan it showed no errors and said that "no integrity violations were found" Naturally after a fresh install i started updating my windows 10 and when it asked to reboot to finish update the same thing repeated and i was unable to use the PC other than in Safe mode Again i booted in with my USB and performed a clean install of the OS and this time the first time itself SFC scan did not give out any violations and i thought maybe i had to perform the above mentioned "Intel Extreme Tuning Utility" steps for the PC to function and i performed that After this the PC did start to work and i was able to boot in and install all necessary software but when i changed my power settings to high performance my laptop instantly crashed and it was the same situation over again Is this a problem with my motherboard or is it a problem with my Operating system or a problem in my BIOS due to the use of the "Intel Extreme Tuning Utility" i'm not sure Sorry for the long post please give you're suggestions as to what could be causing the problem and any potential ways to fix it Thank You https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-2IYm3aBYT3uKQiIjgI_nwKArXCIZzMF/view?usp=sharing (video) dell proof.mp4

I found this person that showed a metal that could be used to cool a CPU under ambient and won't draw 500w , any ideas and opinions on that idea ?
