HI, i already purchased Gigabyte AORUS RTX 2080 Ti version, but im scared to do exchange with my old 1070 Ti cuz im thinking the current psu is not enough for this beast. Should i upgrade with higher PSU or no. I'll use stock everything. No OC's. i7 11700 probably pulls around 250w at max. (intel turbo boost turned on) RTX 3080 maybe aib partners card pulls around 350-400w at most. 2 ssd (sn550 1tb + sx8200 2tb) maybe 5-10w each Ram idk if will draw power 5 fans maybe 10w total That brings us to 670+ watts pull from the system (I don't overclock) * Is a 750w psu enough for all of these? Will it run out of thermal headroom and shut itself down? Or even worse system died :(?

I have a friend who is finally building himself a PC and he is conflicted on what power supply to get. His cpu and gpu were going to be a ryzen 5 1600 overclocked to around 4ghz with a gtx 1060 6gb. He plans on getting the evga supernova 550 or 650 but I feel like it is unnecessary.

Hey guys :)! I'm planning to build a new PC but idk if the power supply is enough.. I was looking at the Corsair RM550. I have a GTX 1070 with a i5 6600, NZXT Noctis 450 case so 4 fans and a Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H80i v2 cooler. So the question was if 550W is enough to power this system (no overclock)

Hey there. I do a lot of media consumption (Netflix, etc.) on my phones, as well as a pretty large amount of web surfing but little gaming. I'm due an upgrade, and I've all but settled on the Motorola Moto G 3rd generation, since it's available on my upgrade plan. However, the 2GB RAM/16GB storage version is not available as an upgrade so I'd be paying full price for that model. I was wondering, do you think the 1GB RAM/8GB storage version is sufficient for my needs? Will it be fast, responsive in Android 5.1 and able to do a bit of multitasking? Please note that only 8GB storage is a non issue as I have a 32GB microSD card laying around which I can use if needs be. All opinions welcomed.

What are the "symptoms" of not having enough RAM? What problems might arise from lack of it?

Hey! Is 600W PSU enough for my setup, if im going to add AVerMedia Live Gamer HD capture card to my system for streaming purposes. Streaming without it, is not an option, since the perfomance is going to boost up quite a lot with a capture card. I havent got a clue how much power it needs + how much power is going to be needed when i start streaming (for example: playing Rainbow Six Siege with high graphics + streaming). Help is much appreciated!  Setup: PSU: Corsair CX600M 600W ATX CPU: i7-4790K GPU: GTX 980 Ti Twin Frozr RAM: 16Gb MOBO: ASRock Fatal1ty Killer z97 SSD: 250Gb 850 EVO HDD: 1TB CASE: NZXT s340 (with preinstalled fans [2]) Last time i asked about a pc built and this lovely community helped me ALOT, this is the final build with what we came up with, THANK YOU! im not that good with computers..

Hey everyone! So, I'll get straight to it. I'm looking into getting an ultrawide monitor, the LG 29UM57-P. It looks great for my needs, but I have one question: how well do you think my R9 390 will handle 2560x1080? I play Battlefront, Euro Truck Sim, Besiege, BeamNG.Drive and Elite: Dangerous. It's supposed to be just 30% more pixels than 1080p (what I currently game on) so I just want other opinions as to how well my existing GPU will run these games at this res at 2560x1080. Also: to those with ultrawides: how do you feel about them? I game and work at about a 70-30 ratio, how well does it work for games (immersion, etc.) and productivity (two big windows side by side, etc.)? Thanks guys!

I never got why not supplying the engine with enough fuel is detrimental in the long term... Wont the engine just cut out? Having more air than fuel in the combustion chamber seems safer than having more fuel than air...

PC for office environment or HOW much PC is enough
vaunull posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hi Members, I am looking to set up a new desktop computer (which I do every 5 or so years) and it just seems to get harder each time to find your way through the jungle of information out there. That being said, Thanks to Linus, youtube and this forum, I have managed to claw my way through much of it but am still left with some fairly important questions and would appreciate your input. There is oodles of information out there for gaming computers but I have not been very successful in finding much useful information for setting up computers for less demanding environments. Bear in mind I am one of those people with dangerous half knowledge so please bear with me. Any statements I make in here, add an invisible I THINK to the end. The objective: 1. A FAST computer that will be reliable and not need upgrades or other work done to it for a few ears to come. 2. Good data security so as not to loose it all in a computer or HDD crash 3. As worry free as possible The system usage: 1. Primarily word processing 2. Emails 3. Web based programs (for real estate office environment) 4. Maybe some occasional photoshop or Illustrator 5. uploading of pictures from camera to PC, sorting and renaming them. What I think I would like: 1. MoBo: Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H (seems to do all I need with room to spare) 2. CPU: Intel 4790K 3. SSD: 2 mirrored Samsung 850 EVO 4. PSU: Cooler Master V550 (According to Cooler Master Power Calculator, the recommended minimum for this setup is 267W) 5. Casing: Phanteks Enthoo Pro Full Tower 6. RAM Kit: Corsair Vengence 2X4GB 7. Onboard graphics should do just fine (I think) My Biggest Question: 1. How much CPU is enough... ie, I want some overkill but I dont need a formula 1 racer on a go kart circuit and if non of the parts can keep up with teh CPU, not much point. I have done quite a bit of reading and gotten to the point where I am thinking that for $40 I can get the best 4th gen I7 why wouldnt I....? Other Questions: 1. What is your general concensus about this setup? 2. Are things fairly balanced (am I likely to bottleneck somewhere) 3. Please add any comments and suggestions you might have . Thanks a lot community!!! And Linus, If you are reading this, If there is a way you could make an "As Fast As Possible" episode on deciding which CPU to buy for various setups or some guidelines in helping make that choice, that would be great. I saw (and liked) probably over a dozend episodes and you explained I3 vs I5 vs I7 and and Intel Buyers Guide and several other things but it didnt bring me closer to knowing what I would NEED as a minimum/good for an office environment setup ie how much is enough.- 13 replies

Hello! I need to buy a new gpu for my computer. I have enough money even for a Zotac Gtx 960 ZT-90301-10M. But my query is: How the bottleneck with the rest of my configuration will affect the games performance. Will I have drops? Or just the amount of fps of a 270-270x. I mean, I know the performance of the gtx 960 will not be the 100%, but I want to know how it would work. Because if it will work at a less efficiency, but will work constantly i don't have any problem. If there is going to be drops of fps, and bad performance, not in the idea of not be able to use the 100% of the gpu, I won't buy it. So my options are: GTX 750TI - R7 265 - R9 270 - R9 270x - GTX 960 I WONT upgrade my other components soon. THANKS a lot. And I´ll leave you with the specs of my sistem. -Mother: Gigabyte GA-880gm-Usb3l -CPU: AMD FX 4100 Overclocked to 4400mhz -Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212+ -I used to have a xfx hd6770 but it died last january by a tunderbolt. -Memory: 2x4gb 1600Mhz ddr3 Hiper x -PW: Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 550w [AROUND 70% EF]

Here it officially is? Officially looking enough, thats for sure. Here is a rundown of the specs that have been leaked just days before its official announcement: I think at 5", a 1080p panel will be pretty good and having more pixels doesn't always make sense. I do think it looks nice, I don't like the gold/silver combo but the gunmetal one looks sharp. It looks like a conservative upgrade over the M8, not enough to make people want to ditch their M8s but enough to be a solid update to what was already a solid phone. Here are some more specs on the camera, you've got your 4K shooting at a 27.8mm lens. Seems like a solid step up from the UltraPixel nonsense, hopefully the low light shooting stays good. Android Central also had a preview of the M9: http://www.androidcentral.com/htc-one-m9-preview?utm_source=ac&utm_medium=dlvrit http://www.theverge.com/2015/2/22/8084639/htc-one-m9-specs-pictures-leak http://www.mobilegeeks.de/artikel/htc-one-m9/

So I planned this build and bought all the components except the Power Supply. I was wondering if this 650W XFX can support the system if i plan to overclock the snot out of both the cpu and gpu? http://pcpartpicker.com/user/chattychad2/saved/vwv2FT Thanks guys
