Finally got my second hand RTX 3080 in the mail. But I wonder do I need to run DDU when upgrade from 970? The Nvidia Driver version are the same. Maybe all I need to do is go to GeForce Experience and do a clean reinstall of drivers.

Hi there. Maybe the community can help with my problem. I had a working PC Specs: Asrock B550m Pro4 (BIOS v 2.50), AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 (2x8GB) 3200, Crucial P3 SSD 1TB M.2 NVMe PCI Express 3.0, Nvidia GTX 1050ti. I wanted to remove the dedicated GPU and use the CPU's one. I Downloaded DDU, rebooted to safe mode, nuked nvidias drivers and selected shut down afterwards for GPU removal. When removed the GPU, plugged DP cable to MOBO and pressed power btn, MOBO's BOOT red led is on and system cannot boot not even into BIOS settings. Removed the m.2, same. Plugged in GPU again, the same. Any Ideas???

Hi I have 2 questions I wanna use ddu to perform a clean install of my gpu driver. I watched a video on Jayz's channel Jayztwocents) where he recommends to disable the windows feature that allows windows to install a basic display driver just to boot up windows. My question is if I did that how will I get a signal after using ddu? it doesnt showcase it in his video (i can link it if needed) or is this just overkill and I shouldnt be bothered. Also, the last time I updated my amd gpu driver (few months ago without using ddu) I ran into a problem where the pc boots but there is no screen, its just black, and after looking it up apparently its a common problem, is there a way around this issue? thanks

Hey, A friend of mine has been having fps problems with his 6700xt and we think we have narrowed it down to a gpu driver problem as he never fully cleaned the drivers off on the last update and thats when the issues began. Could anybody give me / link me to a full step by step on how to use this to fully remove the amd drivers so he can install new ones from scratch - Im a little hesitant of advising him based on what I know xD. Thanks for the help in advance, Lex.

some time ago i had an issue with rtx broadcast. While troubelshooting with nvidia support they sent me a programm called: CleanupTool. It removes all files, drivers and programms asociated with nivida. To my understanding its the same as ddu but from nvidia themself. Since you cant get to the download site without the right link and i didnt find anybody talking about it online here my question: Has anybody else heard of it? Should i upload it somewhere since nvidia probably doesnt want everybody to have it since it is not on their normal page?

How to uninstall AMD gpu drivers using DDU while having an Nvidia gpu installed
Guest posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I really don't want to get the old gpu and put it in just to use it to uninstall the old drivers, then get the new gpu, get it installed. I hadn't uninstalled the drivers before swapping out gpus, but I realize now that I probably should be thorough with DDU uninstaller. -
Hi, just bought a 3080, used DDU to clear the drivers from my 2080. I have a screenshot of DDU after several attempts of trying to get the 3080 to work. I thought it was bad, so installed my 2080 only to find it suddenly having the same problems. I took a screen shot in safe mode showing it detected two GPUs. How do I get rid of both and just start over, short of formatting, which I see no reason why I should. It's a new install, only since May when I upgraded. System specs below and the DDU screenshot and link to the log file. Thanks in advance. So recently I used DDU to uninstall my gpu drivers in safe mode and then booted normally and installed geforce experience and drivers via that again. Ever since doing this however my monitors have been going black and going back on while a windows disconnect sound and connect sound plays as if a device such as USB is being unplugged and plugged back in. I checked event viewer and this comes up each time : A caller specified the SDC_FORCE_MODE_ENUMERATION flag in a call to the SetDisplayConfig() API . Any suggestions?

Dears, I obtained recently RTX 3070 EVGA FTW3 GPU. (removed the old drive using DDU tool) Since then whenever the monitors goes to sleep, the moment it wakes up the main screen goes like on and off for multiple times and eventually powers on after few seconds. My monitor has G-sync feature on it and I could see Nvidia message from task bar saying "G-sync connected" while in control panel I disabled it. I am running least driver but the issue keeps going regardless to the driver version I got. My monitor is ASUS ROG PG278QR Any suggestions?

So after noticing some graphics errors with my PC I decided to uninstall my current Radeon drivers and see if that would solve my issues. I booted up ddu and when I went to wipe them I noticed I had Nvidia drivers along with Intel drivers on my machine. I had previously removed my Nvidia drivers and the Intel drivers although I've never used any Intel components in my machine. Long story short even after wiping my ssd and using DDU multiple timee they're still there and I'm still having graphics errors. Could it be my ssd? GOAL: Boot into SAFE MODE > Run DDU to remove old GPU drivers > Install new GPU drivers > Update BIOS > Hopefully have my monitor running at 144Hz again and games above 1FPS. ISSUES: - Any changes I make seem to revert or are forgotten during restart (MSConfig settings, pinned tabs that have been closed reopen, any form of entering Safe Mode, programs I've set to not open on startup.) the list goes on. - DDU need to be in safe mode to run. - All forms of entering Safe mode aren't working (Via Windows settings, holding shift at login>restart button, command, MSconfig menu, F8 spam etc.) I've had almost zero issues with the system for the last 5yrs until I replaced the CPU Cooler and GPU. Is this normal?

Hi guys, So I had two driver folders on my PC located in something like c:program files/NVIDIA CORPORATION. (Can't access the PC at the moment) The folders were: 378.66 378.78 Today I saw that version 378.92 was released so wanted to grab it. Before doing so I read up about DDU (Direct driver unistaller) and thought I'd give it a shot from here: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html I run a second drive that houses my 'downloads' so it ended up on that drive. I first downloaded the new NVIDIA driver I then extracted the DDU zip, and ran the executable. The menu came up to remove the old drivers etc and I ran the suggested restart method (After creating a restore point). Seemed to go OK, although when restarting it was hanging on a black screen for a good minute or two. I then installed the new NVIDIA driver and thought I'd have a look to see if the old drivers really had gone, but low and behold the two folders (378.66/378.78) were still there alongside the new one I'd just installed! (378.92) What went wrong here? Is it because I ran the executable from my second drive rather than the C: drive? Confused as to why it didn't work.

Hi guys, First ever forum post! I decided to add an additional 970 to my existing Palit GTX 970 to my setup, CPU: 5820K RAM 16GB DDR4 GPU: GTX 970 - As mentioned. MOBO: Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4 New 970 is a Evga 970. I've tried 3 SLI bridges, no luck. The option for SLI is just grayed out. I've used a DDU to remove all existing drivers and installed the cards one at a time on the new 373.06 driver. Each card works perfectly fine on its own. Google has failed me on this occasion. Many thanks Ben

I am upgrading my graphics card to a gtx 1080, and I used DDU to clean my previous AMD drivers for my R9 390. I installed the 1080, and the system did not display any output whatsoever. Now my 390 does not give any output either, and neither does the onboard graphics. I cleared the CMOS, tried different monitors, and there is still no output. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After just now running DDU it said all Nvida stuff was successfully uninstalled & I can tell it works because the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is running in place of my 1060. Although I double checked & under Local Disk (C:) there's an Nvidia folder containing what looks like everything for the driver I just uninstalled. Is it safe to delete this now or will the new driver install automatically do this for me?
-
Merry Christmas! I recently installed my Gigabyte 1060, and as soon as I booted up my PC, I booted up DDU. I selected the option of "Clean and Shutdown" because it said it was for installing new graphics cards. I think DDU might have disabled the 1060 and I don't know how to undo it. A little help would be useful. Thanks!

So I have a interesting problem with my GPU/Drivers. When this happened I was in class with my laptop not being used at all with a empty desktop(listening to the lecture ofc). Now this is coming and going all the time, for 1h I have a normal laptop then this happens and then fixed again... and so on. I dont do anything to make it work normally, it just randomly decideds too. This seems to me like heat damage... but my GPU is always around 65-70 in videogames so it makes no sense. So what I have tried to fix this is: Update drivers Go back one update before the one with the problem Using DDU in normal mode and installing a update Using DDU in safe mode and installing the update in normal Outright removing the update works! But then I'm stuck with a glorified mobile phone

Display runs perfectly fine on integrated GPU, so i removed the gpu (R7 240), uninstalled all drivers clean with DDU, put the gpu back in again. everything runs fine even on the gpu now, but the moment i install new drivers, the entire screen goes flickering violently then turns exactly like the image given (image taken from internet). What should i do? IMPORTANT: something i really need to know is, Is it possible for it to be caused by physical damage? the computer is completely open, like a testbench, it's not impossible for the gpu to get hit by something today. The display is COMPLETELY fine and computer runs perfectly without drivers but the moment i install drivers, and windows tries to go full resolution, bam it crashes. I just need to know if it's physical damage because if it's software, i can fix it anyday but if it's physical damage, there's no point in trying to fix it, i'll just throw it away. TIA

gtx 1660 ti Error Code 43 (pink horizontal dashes)
Ijustwantmypcfixed posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hello all, I recently put together a system a few months ago I linked the specs as a photo below. The build ran fine for about a month and a half until I ran into the first occurrence of the pink dashes. It was after I updated drivers like an idiot but it went away after a reboot so it was fine. It happened again 2 weeks ago but this time much worse I got error code 43. I tried many things to fix it like: -Updating bios -DDU and reinstalling older drivers -Resetting PC -Re-sitting Video Card -Contacted Nvidia support and downloading hot fix At that point I gave up and powered down the pc for the night and unplugged the power. After I had woken up and booted up the pc everything was in perfect working order. There was no difference in performance or anything. This “fix” lasted until last night where my monitors literally flashed white blinding me and froze. I power cycled the pc and when I turned it on I was met with the pink dashes again my second monitor got no signal and I was back to error 43. My restore points that I had saved magically disappeared as-well. This time I tried a lot of other options out of desperation, -Downloading GeForce Experience, it would say no driver detected and after updating through GE it would still show that I needed to update. -Removing video card, using DDU, replacing card and updating drivers -Checking for viruses -Resetting PC again -Letting windows update drivers (which would say it encountered an error) -Stopping Windows updates I already have it set in my mind that I will buy a new card but is there someone that knows how to fix this issue while I wait? I also don’t have another pc to test the card in because I am overseas. -
What happened if you not uninstall previous driver. Does that affect gaming performance?

Specs: AMD FX-6300 MSI 990FXA gaming 16 GB DDR3 Crucial Ballistix RAM 128gb Samsung SSD 1tb Western digital blue Sapphire rx 580 NITRO+ 4gb edition I have an idea what my problem is but I can not seem to fix it. Every single time I download my drivers (version 18.12.2) they don’t work. I have clean uninstalled and reinstalled my drivers twice, and reinstall them normally twice as well and nothing seems to work. I’m not sure if i should uninstall my drivers and reinstall them VIA th CD that came with my graphics card, or if I should just custom install everything. However, I saw on other websites that installing AMD drivers while connected to the internet will allow windows to mess with the drivers when being install, but I am not sure how true that is. This is a brand new card, It shipped in 2 days ago, and i’m already having issues straight out of the box. (this computer previously had a ASUS STRIX 380 2gb but i had uninstalled the old drivers so i’m not sure what the problem is)
