I am working on an idea and have some questions for you guys. I hope this discussion is welcome. How many keyboard shortcuts do you remember when using a creative software (i.e. photoshop, gimp, illustrator, ableton, after effects, etc.)? How long does it take you to remember a new shortcut? Would you use more shortcuts if they were more obvious? Thanks for any responses!

I am taking a graphic design class in school this year and one of the programs we learned was Adobe Illustrator (albeit CS5 but whatever). I really like using this program and I have these personal projects I work on along side our normal assignments. My problem with utilizing the school's program is that I A) won't be able to use it after this year, and B) I only have about 10-20 minutes a day to work on something. To my knowledge Adobe no longer sells the Creative Suite programs and now Creative Cloud (I think) is subscription based. My problem is $30 a month for a hobby is not at all worth it to me. I have no problem with paying for CS6, but I can't find it anywhere. Is there a way I can download it anywhere online without using a sketchy website that makes me feel like my computer is going to explode. Thank you for your help

Is it possible to have .MTS with sound?
HanselPutra370 posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
I do some video editing, i take the video with my sony a6000 which use AVCHD to record 50FPS (that's plenty for me). But the file came out to be .MTS which when i import the file to premiere pro , it go no sound. So everytime i want a sound, i need to convert it to MP4 and takes a long time + it felt like the frame rates actually reduced. Since i want to do some slowmo etc and sound, is it possible to get audio from MTS? Thanks- 3 replies

I'm an aspiring editor but I feel it's hard to find good and free plug-ins for premiere Pro CS6. Can anyone help me with this. There are very limited video transition plug-ins on premiere Pro. And will looking into after effects help?

Hi Here are my PC specs: i7 6850k Overclock to 4.3 32Gb DDR4 3200k Asus 1080Ti Strix CPU AIO NVME and Raid0 SSD Source footage on NVME (3000MB/s), Scratch space on Raid0 SSD (900+MB/s) Not that it makes a difference as there isn't much disk activity. Output to NVME This is a new PC I built to replace a gaming laptop (i7 4700HQ, GTX880M, 32GB DDR3) which I was using for rendering and some gaming. The new PC does run faster, but there is a lack of CPU/GPU use when rendering out and I can't see why it's going so slow.... was hoping you guys had some ideas? Source project - 1080/60fps .MP4 from a Canon G7xMKII 320bit MP3 Audio from Zoom H1 Audio corrected with EQ and a couple other filters to clean it up a bit. Output settings, H.264 1080/60fps, NTSC 5.1, Maximum Depth on, CBR 30Mb/s, Keyframe 14 and Maximum Render Quality on. I render out an uncorrected cut for quick reference, make sure I haven't made a mistake before the final render, and when rendering out it uses an average 70%CPU and almost no GPU 6 minutes renders in a little under 6 minutes. Still got a lot more headroom in that CPU Then I activate my layer which has my basic corrections - Colorista (free version), Brightness/Contrast and Shadow/Highlight. (I use Colorista as it's much faster to render and easier to use than the built in RGB Color Correction in PremPro) Export and boom!!! 1 hour 8 minutes to render The CPU sits at about 30%, the GPU bounces between 15-35%, there's hardly any disk activity and I'm using about 7Gb of memory. There's so much more the computer can give, but for some reason it looks like it gets lazier the more I ask of it. It's not throttling. The CPU is at 43C and the GPU is at 36C. It is quicker than the old laptop, but anyone have any ideas how I can get it to use all of the hardware capability... pin that sucker to 80+% CPU/GPU (on a side note, if I take the exported file and do a simple 720/30fps/5mb/s re-render for vimeo, it pins the CPU to 100% on all cores)

Hello. I have been using After Effects CS6 for a long time but have not upgraded to CC due to several reasons. Please could anybody here correct me and provide any workarounds for these issues? Issue 1: (RAM) Preview CS6's RAM preview served as a brilliant way to test a short segment of video, but CC's preview renders the frames live so often it doesn't play audio and is not realtime as my PC is not fast enough. Issue 2: Rendering It seems to me that CC has much faster rendering than CS6 for the most part, but the rendering options are... underwhelming. Rendering a 1-minute long video at 1920x1080, 24fps with a CBR bitrate of 6.0 Mbps using CS6's H.264 format produces a video with a filesize of 44.1MB File properties (screenshot) - This video is crystal clear and great quality. Rendering settings (screenshot) Rendering the exact same 1-minute long video at 1920x1080, 24fps with the quality at 100 using CC's Quicktime format and the H.264 codec produces a video with a filesize of 434MB File properties (screenshot) - This video is crystal clear and great quality. Rendering settings (screenshot) I also tried the same thing with the quality set to 50 and it produced a video with a filesize of 80.4MB File properties (screenshot) - Which is a much better filesize with an acceptable quality. However, that is still a decent amount larger than CS6's file, so I tried the same thing with the quality set to 25. This produced a video with a filesize of 46.8MB File properties (screenshot) - This video is watchable, but it's still fairly bad. So with the quality set to 25, the video is fairly low quality and is still a bigger filesize than AE CS6's file. Lowering the quality would make the video look horrific, but increasing the quality would result in even larger filesizes. Of course with a small, 1-minute video the size difference is minimal, but this is going to stack up quickly when working on lengthier videos. So that leaves me asking: How can I work around this new preview tool? What render settings should I experiment with? After Effects CC appears to be much faster and more optimised than CS6 as it's newer, so I wouldn't really like to stay on CS6. Any tips? Thank you kindly in advance!

Hi, I've been using CS6 for a long time now, and I've never really been bothered to figure out how to use CUDA or any form of GPU acceleration during the export process of Adobe Premiere or Media Encoder, however now that I'm looking into it, I can't quite find out how. Does anyone know how to export a video using GPU acceleration in Adobe Media Encoder CS6? Thanks in advanced

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get cineform to work on CS6 in Premiere, Media Encoder and After Effects because from what I have heard it has very good timeline performance and it would work great for video exiting. But I am also open to looking into other codecs that you guys think have equal or better timeline performance and render times if you know of any. Thanks for your input, Riley

Hi, I installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 on my PC, but because it's so small I have to force my eyes in order to read or to find icons. Is there a way to change the program's size/scale alone?

So I'm looking for some advice about my GPU. I was running 2 Asus HD7870s crossfired when I originally built this rig. As I've gotten more advanced with my editing it was getting bogged down. So I picked up a used Quadro 5000 as it was one of the highest supported GPUs for CS6. In editing so for there seems to be no noticeable difference and the GPU monitor shows no usage. I have yet to render a project out though as this card idles at 81* and shoots up from there with use. Since Asus AI suite is broken in Windows 10 I had to get a new fan controller which I'm putting in today to see if I can bring those temps down with adjustments to the case fans. My question is was I better off with the 2 HD 7870s as they are ~1000mhz and 2gb each of GDDR5 vs the Quadro which is ~500mhz and 2.5gb GDDR and the CUDA boosting. Thanks-JF140/Cody CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X60 98.3 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus Z87-Deluxe ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-2133 Memory Storage Boot Drive: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Edit Drive: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive 4TB Raid 10: 4 x Seagate 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Video Card: PNY Quadro 5000 2.5GB Video Card Case: NZXT Phantom 530 (Red) ATX Full Tower Case Power Supply: Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM (64-bit)

Hello All. I need to steady out some footage in premiere, but the built in warp stabilizer is not doing well enough. What is the plugin that Linus spoke about in a video or episode of wan show that he was going to buy? Thanks, InsaneMasterDJ

Hey I'm interested in building a new computer mostly for photo and video editing with Adobe CS6 products. I also would like to be able to do a little bit of gaming too. I have a budget of around $700 and I've been researching a lot of stuff so I have an idea of what I think I want but I've never done this before so any advice on what I should be looking at would be appreciated. This is a baseline for what I was thinking about: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

So here's the question: If I were to have an entire Premiere project (source files and all) on a mechanical hard drive, would exporting to an SSD offer any kind of speed/time advantage over exporting to the mechanical drive?

Hi guys, I'm planning biuld a Video Editing machine, for Adobe Premiere CS6, After Effects and Flash (Adobe Creative Suite CS6 in general) and . I'd to gaming on that pc too, like Black Ops II, BF3 and Far Cry 3. I'm sure ill overclock this machine for better results. I started my build on a Newegg's wish list and i need some opinions about some doubts i have. Hardware Specs: Intel Core i7 3930k AsRock X79 Extreme9 G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 64GB (8 x 8GB) DDR3 2400 Galaxy GTX 680 4GB GC XFX PSU 1000W 80 PLUS Platinum Sansung 840 PRO 128GB (caching) Sansung 840 PRO 256GB (Programs and stuff) 1x Seagate Barracuda 3TB Sata III (Temp Project Files) 4x WD Red 2TB Sata III (Video projects Storage) 1x LG Blu-ray Writer w/ 3D Playback Swiftech H220 Water Cooler Noctua NF-F12 (for SP) Noctua NF-P12 (for Air Flow) Antec P280 White Windows 7 Professional System Builder ASUS VG248QE Black 24" 144Hz 1ms Asus Xonar Essence STX I need a lot of space cause every project is about 300 - 600 GB Planning to use 3 - 4 Monitors (24" main monitor, 19" monitor for multicam manager, import archives and transitions, 32" LED TV for Preview (I already have that one), and a 15" for folders, video transitions and effects list). I know it's a lot of money but i'm planning stay with that computer at least 4 years. and less expensive than buying a nice Mac Pro. I'm going to buy at US at December cause i live in Brazil and that's where ill have my vacations so that the only time ill have to travel there. Because of the new Intel Generation core i7 coming, i'm planning to change the 3930k for the 4930k, and about the new Geforce 700 series too. Maybe ill need a nice audio external card like the M Box for AVID Pro Tools. My buget: $4500 US, but i want to spent a lot less. My doubts: Does it worth get a GTX 680 or a GTX 660Ti? Memory, 64GB or 32GB ? And what about speed ? Two SSDs, should I get it one SSD for caching or by having one and a HDD is better ?
