any thoughts an advice on new case an mods for my old build an layout as ill soon be transferring my previous LITTLE YELLOW BEAST to my new case the nzxt h5 flow - paint job still in the works the case needs two more even coats long with the io & pci plates hard drive , bottom angled fan mount an rad mount brackets before gear would be transferred still waiting on vertical mount to arrive so i can paint that to all the previous setup's gear is to be moved aside from a ram upgrade im going from 32gb to 64gb my current game plan for gear layout in the new case is to vertical mount gpu as before but with Coolermaster Universal Vertical GPU Holder Kit Ver.2 an to mount the aio in the front top fan position in the pull config with both 120mm fans as front exhaust on the outer of the rad bracket mount also with the bottom angled fan as exhaust to an a 120mm Fan Size Cooler Exhaust Shroud on the other side of the aio as a intake scoop aimed torwards the top front fan to be set as intake along with the other an rear also as intake ther are two main reasons i down with some of my builds 1.positive pressure with some case an my room air flow an temps an gear just works better 2.cleaning my home has a shitty stucco ceiling the just flaks fine paint dust that cake my filter on pc's an other gear a as the home is a rental i cant do a thing about it so ease of cleaning is a must especially not having to open up the case every week to clean but rather just taking my shopvac over the outside to off an out the filters is better an iv got some good filter mesh to put between the top an rear fans that iv used before the collects the paint fleck an does hinder air flow so thats the jest your thought advice , or gentle criticism 06/22/23 update 2nd & 3rd paint coat update these 6 pixs are of the 2nd & 3rd coatsthis side of the front panel looks better on the other side more pixs later plus the io pci plates an drive an fan tray mounts an fittings will be coated later to day then a final pic with all together before the pc gut are transferred

im still acquiring the parts for my 3nd build an im still deciding on a case an fan an rad layout and i keep leaning towards the Fractal Design Torrent for a custom watercooled build for my 5800x an powercolor 6700xt fighter an if i can get a matching water block for the gpu so both can be liquid cooled iv got both cpu an gpu an Aquacomputer airplex radical 4/280, aluminum fins https://www.aquatuning.us/water-cooling/radiators/radiators-active/280mm/20176/ aquacomputer-airplex-radical-4/280-aluminum-fins iv got 7 x Noctua A14 industrialPPC-3000 PWM 158.5 CFM 140 mm Fans now for the Caveat in the layout with the Fractal Design Torrent an that big back area id like to configure the rad an fans like this the rad on the bottom intake aligned ti the two first 140mm spot leaving the last as just air intake an for the front 3 x 140mm run them as exhaust with some filter mesh covering the back minus the rear 140mm intake the reason for this layout is in my home 2 issues plague my 2 current builds 1.this paint flak dust off our stucco ceiling that cakes the intakes after ever two weeks an starts to cake the inside of the case gear after a month so avg cleaning is 4 times the is tiring 2. any decent filter mash that can block the flak dust to were only 1 cleaning a month is needed cuts the air flow an cooling by about 30% which i could almost deal with except it tanks all performance during the summer an in my home during 90plus temps my place holds at 75 degs which makes my idle temp 46c to 48c an under load 57c to 65c all this is solved by removing the filter mesh but then i have to clean it 4 times a month this is taxing my long winded question / rant is this i dont think the thickness of the mesh is the direct cause by its proximity to the fans. so my thinking is that the 3 x Noctua A14 industrialPPC-3000 as exhaust would pull the air throw the case with ease an off the rad which would have the fans on top as a pull config would this be a safe bet to think this would work an if so id reconfigure the other two case an layout to match

Wow, That's A Lot Of Hardware...: So about a month ago I tore my rig apart for a clean. This was during my move from the office to bedroom. I took the whole of my case apart and blasted it with an air compressor. Broke out the wet wipes too, got everything looking nice and fresh. I've got some images of the hardware laid out but nothing of the actual job. I did this within three hours so everything apart from the HDD and the GPU got taken apart. This is before I got me second 290x. Whats Next?: Many things, some stuff coming out on the main blog for upcoming builds. As well as progress with the red mod. Expecting big updates early next week now since delivery dates got pushed back. Looking for any input you might have for this project, and for the others. Thank You :)

Hey guys, I need two right angle DP (preferably 1.4) adapters that are almost flat, like those CableMod's has in their Vertical PCI-e Bracket sets. I have Phanteks' vertical bracket, but unfortunately it's designed for open PCIe slots and I really don't want to cut into another case. I have managed to find something like this, but it's only rated DP 1.2... Also I'm not sure if two of them will fit next to each other on my current GPU. Is this my best option?

iv recently be thinking about a case upgrade for my first build which is as followed current build an spec before the gpu upgrade my 1660 oc super triple fan never broke 52c under load an while i know the its a different type an series , i think that the fact that the power color has just two fans vs my older tri fan gpu an my other builds gpu the XFX Speedster SWFT 309 Radeon RX 6700xt 12 GB Video Card which has three also makes a diff an would in the my case , i did try it out both in horizontal an vertical mounting an compared to the power color the temps were a whole 5c lower horizontal mount & in vertical mount were 7.5c which i know isnt super but aint crap either but the XFX Speedster SWFT 309 Radeon RX 6700xt an why i could just leave it its intended for my 2nd build an has a matching waterblock ive yet to install , so the power color is staying in the 1st build an now to my long winded question id like your Thoughts & advice needed on instead of getting a different gpu just want to getting a different case with different fan cooling layout so recently i saw the new cases all have got me interested the NZXT H5 Flow , Hyte Y40 , Hyte Y60 which do you'll think would be the best upgrade over my corsair 275 air i like both the Hyte Y40 & Hyte Y60 for the mobo side fan intakes bottom fans an triple an quad vertical gpu mounts which i think either being able to mount further into the case with the fan layout as followed sides intake , rear as aio intake , bottom & top as exhaust would work far better then my current case or get the NZXT H5 Flow an using the rear an top as intakes with the aio in the top front also as intake an use the front two an angled front bottom'ish fan all as exhaust so which of the three an my desired configs would be the best buy an layout

Hi all, I made the move to PC last summer and now, my XBox has been getting increasingly obsolete. In order to replace it, I decided to build a HTPC around an R5 3400G I bought for 140$ on Kijiji. It would have to be small, as it replaces a console, and the ability to read Blu-Rays as I still own a lot and will continue to buy physical discs. While I fell in love with the In Win Chopin, which seems to be a favorite for this type of build, I went with its little brother the BQ656. I uses the same chassis, but trades the brushed aluminium sheet for disc drive support. I managed to grab one used on eBay for $86 CAN. Came in pretty badly scratched, so I decided it needed a paintjob. And if I was going to paint it, I wanted to do something cool: (Artist's rendering) Iproceded to take apart the 120W PSU as I will paint the inside of the case and the PSU case, the current gray looks quite... ordinary. Here is the USB/audio module. I will be modifying this as well, because those thick beige cables are ungodly looking as they are unwieldly to route around the case. Probably will get rid of the audio as well for the sake of neatness.

Ok so i plan to buy a Corsair 900D but with the current build i am working out for it, the motherboard that will be inside it (ASUS Prime Z270-AR) has no usb 2.0 ports but it does have 4 front usb 3.0 ports so i was wondering whether i'd be able to modify the case swapping the 4 usb 2.0 ports for 3.0 ports and then either covering up the potential holes left from the original 2 usb3.0 ports or using them for something else. Would this be possible to do?

Hi Guys. I am planing to do a build inside the 900d case, but since i dont want to see the back or the bottom i want to do a Motherboard tray (not sure if this is the right word) and a plate to cover the bottom. I never did something like this before and would be happy to have some tips for beginners:) First of all I dont know what material I should use. I thought about 3mm Aluminium and paint it black (and btw: any ideas what paint to use?). Any other suggestions? Then the other big problem: I want to have the pump in the bottom so I need to go through the aluminium plate with my tubing and I cant find any fittings for this. Are there some special fittings for this kind of stuff? And if anyone has made something like this and has some designs laying around please upload a picture:) Sincerely MasterR8

Ok I've been thinking of making a custom gaming pc and have been watching all the videos on you tube and I'm really impressed with what people have done. Then I had a crazy idea... Is it possible to put a gaming pc inside a 42" led flat screen tv? Like pc and monitor all in one mounted to the wall? I've looked online and I haven't seen anyone try this so it might just be a dumb idea but I might have to give it a shot. What do you guys think? I'd love to see you guys do it and make a how to video or something.

Cooler Master just wrapped up the 8th annual "Case Modding World Series" by announcing the winners of this years contest. I was very impressed by the quality entries into this contest and while modding is a very subjective art almost anyone can find a PC they think is epic in the huge list of completed projects. http://makerhub.coolermaster.com/mod-winners-cmws2017/

Hey everyone, I've got the Rosewill Thor V2 and wanted to replace the mesh on the side panel with plexiglass or any other material if you have some suggestions. But I was looking on amazon for plexiglass and couldnt think of what thickness to get that wouldn't be to bulky, but also so thin that it would warp and bend once it's attached. And if possible im looking to stay below $50 since what I saw on amazon was definitley on the pricier side. Of course all help is apperciated!

Hello all, just registered here since I have a problem I just couldn't fix. Long story short, I'm designing a new case for my own PC (my first build). I want the case to be fully compatible with the ATX standard. But I just can't find the specifications for the expansion cards (graphics card, additional network interface, etc). Yes, I could just take my cards and meassure them, but than I can't be sure that ALL possible cards will fit. Also it will be a much cleaner build when I have absolute numbers. (Considering what odd numbers are used throughout the ATX standard, rounding would be a bad idea). And before someone asks, yes I have searched the ATX specifications for information about the expansion cards. When I have all the data I need I also plan to merge them into one big document to make it easier to build ATX-cases yourself. Thank you all in advance. -- Also please excuse my poor english, I'm not a native.

Hi all, I'm planning some mods for the upcoming rebuild of my watercooled PC, and I seek your advice on material choices for the mod described: Im going to be building a vertical GPU mount to replace the pcie slots on my Lian Li PC-O9. Id like to basically build my own version of CoolerMaster's vertical gpu mount. I already have the bracket from MountainMods, and the riser cable. What type of aluminum or steel should I get for the best workability? My main tools are a dremel and a drill. Id like to be able to bend the metal to mount it onto the cases original pcie slots (Ill be cutting out the horizontal bars) I'm aware that there are different alloys and grades of the metals, so does anyone have any experience with ones that worked well for them? Thank you!

I have been looking for a case to do a custom loop in for quite some time now. I've concluded that I either have to mod a case or go for something like caselabs to get what I want. If I'm going with the 900D from Corsair then I want to replace the whole front panel including the 5,25" bays with a metal mesh or something. Maybe similar to the mesh on top of the case. Would love to hear some opinions on this and suggestions on how to actually do it.

Hi. I am doing a build and I want to do something to the front fascia. I am using an Nzxt s340 and on the front I want Cut out a logo. I want to put something like acrylic behind the plastic, and when I turn the pc on I want it to light up. The issue is, if I have leds around the edge, the light doesn't reach the centre. If anyone has expierince with this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So I am thinking of building a gaming and video editing PC. The only catch is that now, I have an idea of potentially building one in a nintendo entertainment system. I know that people have done it before, but I don't know if it can be done. I have been thinking of things to consider, but I don't know if I'm forgetting anything or if I should just scrap this idea for good. I am getting hardware that I know will be good for video editing and gaming, but I do know some limitations 1: Power: My estimated peak power use is about 330 watts given my components and work load use cases (namely a intel Xeon Haswell and GTX 1060 mini). No pico PSU can handle that power that I know of. I would need at least a 500W power supply (I'm giving myself extra headroom for paranoia reasons). This leads to my second limitation... 2: Size: I am aware that a full size PSU and a mini ITX motherboard can't fit in an NES together. I would need to do something also about all the heat generated, going into... 3: Airflow: There is next to no ventilation in an NES, so modding the case would be needed to be able to put a fan anywhere. I know if by some act of God I were able to do this, I would have a fan on the bottom of the system blowing into the NES to cool it with a smaller fan on one of the sides to get the heat out. Again, I know it most likely isn't possible, so I just wanted to get a second opinion from the LTT community. Maybe this can give @LinusTech or @Slick an idea for a video if they think it could be possible.

Sup folks, I am planning my new build "A Faster Horse". It's a Ford Mustang themed build, so I bought some Mustang fender emblems to put on the case, however II'm not quite sure yet where to put them. Either a horse running to the right on the sidepanel, or a horse running to the left on the front. I would like to maintain a clean look, so both might be a bit much. Anyway, what do you think looks best? Let me know! Regards, TJ Images:

Does anyone know if you can mod the cooler master mastercase h500m to fit a 3x140mm radiator in the front, just like you can do with the h500p? Planning on a 2x140mm rad on top and a 3x140mm rad in the front. If yes, this will set my decision for which one of those two to get.

Hey Guys, I have a small issue here: I've got this new button, a momentary switch with a green "angel eye" led ring, which I want to use as a power button for my comp. As you can see in the rather vague and blurry pic that I enclose, it's a six pin button and I know by now that the top one is the positive pin for the led, the bottom one is the negative pin for the led, the far-left one is the control pin and the far-right pin is the normally open pin. I also know that I want to connect to only these four mentioned in order to get the thing working. What happens now if I test it, is that the computer switches on, runs for a second and switches off and I am not sure as to why this happens. Anybody any advice on this?
