  1. Budget (including currency): $1800 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Fortnite, Ultrakill, (Possibly) Apex Legends, Others. Here's the list of parts, this is including EVERYTHING I'll be buying: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BNJh89 Also, I know that's a lot of fans, I also know that I probably wont need them all, but either way, I'm having the max amount of fans that this case has slots for.
  2. Hi guys, Building a fairly budget oriented PC for a friend, mostly looking for any advice on possible compatibility issues or cheaper alternatives. Performance wise just aiming for a capable 1080p box nothing too fancy but not bargain basement either. Pricing in GBP(£) as I'm UK based and for those of you looking to recommend alternative builds/parts bare in mind the GPU, PSU and Windows are all FREE as I'm donating them to the build. Parts list is as follows: CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860k - £64.99 MOBO: Gigabyte GA-F2A78M-HD2 Micro ATX FM2+ - £41.89 RAM: ADATA XPG V1.0 8GB (1 x 8GB) - £42.77 SSD: PNY CS1311 120GB - £39.47 GPU: EVGA GTX 960 SSC ACX 2.0+ 2GB - Free (My old GPU) Case: CiT F3 Black/Purple - £24.98 PSU: Corsair CS450M - Free (My old PSU) OS: Windows 10 64-bit - Free (Spare Copy) TOTAL: £214.10 Thanks in advance for any insight, comments or recommendations.
  3. Hi everyone, i am currently planing to build my first PC sometime this year (as soon as i have enough money), because i'm tired of the poor performance of my PS4 and the bs sony is pulling (mainly PSPlus fees). My Budget is around 1500€, my location is Germany so prices are quite high. This system will mostly be used for Gaming, but also some University work like programming and numerical simulation, so CPU performance is needed but not the main focus. I plan to overclock as much as possible, hence the Genome case. This build is an idea that i really like: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/b2mKGf Any suggestions? When RyZen and Vega launch i might change the i5 and the gtx 1070 for the price or performance equivalent, depending on which is better for my needs. I know it's very RGB heavy but i like RGB so please no comments on replacing the RGB stuff, i know some of the parts are more expensive than the non-RGB variants but for me they would be worth the extra cost. I alredy have all the peripherals since i type alot so a mechanical keyboard is a must for me and i got the mouse really cheap, the monitor is currently used as my workscreen at home with my laptop. Update: I accidentaly included a 1060 for the price of the 1070 i wanted, since pcpartpicker didn't have the price, this is the current part list: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/8Wft4C
  4. Hello all, first time posting here and looking for some advice and help. The very instant I became an old person (I am 27) I became fascinated by simulator games (flight sims, space sims, driving sims, trucking sims, and so on), and I have a room opening up in my house soon and in the space I want to build a fully enclosed simulator cockpit with a triple monitor display and my HOTAS and driving wheel both mounted inside. I'm going to pay someone local who actually knows what they are doing when it comes to woodworking to do the physical building as I am not experienced with such things. What I'm looking for here though is some opinions on the PC parts I'll be building into the cockpit and some opinions on the layout of the parts with regards to airflow. I'm going to attach some images from my rough proof of concept in SketchUp as well as the .skp if anyone wants to play around with it. As far as the PC parts I intend to only really run sim games in it. I have a regular gaming computer that I use to play general gaming titles, this will only be to play sims. In general these are less graphically demanding games, the most graphically intense game I imagine it will be playing is Elite: Dangerous which by this point is a few years old and is generally well optimized in my experience. However on the flip side it will need to drive the three monitor setup without issue so I feel like I need to consider relatively carefully. The three monitors will be 1080p each, not sure the monitor yet but I'm thinking maybe the AOC i2777fq as its slim bezel, the size I'm looking for, and 1080p. My idea for parts so far is as follows: Ryzen 5 1600, GTX 1060 (6gb), 16gb of whatever reputable DDR4 RAM I can find for a good price, and a regular SATA SSD. I've been wanting to try out a Ryzen build and I know that the game I play most, Elite Dangerous, makes pretty good use of multiple threads so the 6 cores might treat it well. But what are peoples thoughts? Is this underpowered for the proposed use? overpowered? I mostly have experience with NVidia GPUs but I'm not opposed to going with an AMD one if anyone thinks that would do better/ has any recommendations. My main concern is hitting 60fps with the triple monitor resolution, so any advice will be welcome. (as you can see there is an additional fourth monitor mounted above which I'm going to make able to fold up and down for additional things outside the game like netflix, spotify, or like a twitch dashboard if streaming but its going to be a small 1400x900 monitor I already have lying around at home that I don't imagine will add much overhead to the system, no pun intended) The second major piece comes down to airflow and cooling which is where the attached images come in. The model I have worked up in SketchUp is rough and in some areas isn't even scaled right or things are not centered and so on so its just a proof of concept for me to visualize the idea. You can see, however, in the attached image showing the PC internals that I have all the parts mounted to one of the exterior panels, the parts in the model are not the parts listed above, they are basically just random parts of the correct size to show how it would fit in the space. Right now I threw in some full watercooling stuff but in the final build I may just go with an AiO to save money, I just wanted to test fit it and see how the maximum space usage would work out if I went that route. But ultimately my concern is overall airflow and where to add additional fans. Right now I have the fans for the radiator (which I assume would be intakes) as well as a hole for the power supply fan (which is also an intake unless I have been thinking about power supplies very wrong). Where should I place some exhaust fans in this very large compartment so that I'm creating the best airflow design for it? Are any additional intakes needed? No cabling is shown at the moment because I didn't know how to model it basically, but I'm sure with the amount of room I have that wont be a problem. Lastly some extra things I am planning to do that aren't shown on the model: 1. There should be a mouse and keyboard tray that slides out under the wheel, it is not shown in any detail because I am not competent enough to add it. 2. The chair is going to be mounted on a track like in a car so that you can move it forward and backward to get in and out of the chair (thinking of trying to get an actual car seat and its track from a junkyard and mounting it). 3. There will obviously be a door somewhere to get in and out of the it, and the idea is that on the front the whole lower panel will be on a latch to provide easy access to the PC parts and cabling. 4. Lighting internally will be some type of low profile LED strips that will be enough to see and move around but wont be too bright. 5.I want to do some type of external I/O as well such as just a couple USB ports and an HDMI port on the outside, this is for 2 reasons. One I'd love to be able to hook my pico projector in and let people outside see what was happening in game on the inside (thinking this will be done with a splitter coming off the cable for the center monitor and an HDMI extension cable as the center screen will show most of the action) as well as being able to potentially diagnose problems and stuff from the outside without having to get inside. 6. Mini fridge for drinks in the open space on the right hand side? Just spitballing here. Thanks guys! I know this is an ambitious project but I'm going to be saving money and stuff in prep for it till at least November so I have time to get all this hammered out. PS: Also as I said the model is pretty rough, if anyone out there has significant SketchUp Skills and would be willing to turn it into something professional looking and properly scaled that I can actually use as plans for the physical build I would be willing to pay some reasonable price for the work. Message me and we can talk about it. PPS: .skp was too big to upload so here's a google drive link
  5. Mostly used for gaming and some small video editing(family videos and the like). Preferably could run 60 fps on medium settings at least on 1080p 144hz monitor for modern games. I plan on upgrading to a GTX1080 in around 3-4 months, earlier if the need arrives, would probably be the same time i get a 1440p 144hz monitor, and i don't really plan on going 4k anytime soon. Modest overclocking. Peripherals are taken cared of. 6. Sup folks, Yesterday I made a post about my LED Ford emblem which I'd like to put in my case. The emblem requires +/- 12 volts to work, so I decided to connect it directly to a molex-connector, as I believe the yellow wire is used for 12 volt output (or so I read on the interwebs), so I drew this astonishing schematic before assembling it, and asking you - yes, you! - to check whether this is correct or whether I'm going to break the emblem like a Windsor engine block (Ford joke, haha). Thanks in advance, Cheers TJ PS, I'm a noob at wiring so this might seem like the stupidest request ever, but I'd just want to be sure before I do it, if it means preventing an accidental camp fire PPS, I suck at jokes. Here are the schematic and a puppy
  7. "The Teraflop" means nothing it was just a distinguishable name I came up with when writing this. I am trying to build the Ultimate ~$700 Gaming Computer for myself. The only requirements I have are 1) M.2 boot drive, 2) I want to stay ITX, aka as small as possible, and 3) as much performance as possible. Currently the build consists of: $199.99 AMD Ryzen 5 3200 6-core 3.6Ghz Base Clock, with a 4.2Ghz Boost. (for a while I had the 2600, however, for just $60 you get a significant performance boost, according to PassMark) $94.99 ASRock A320M-ITX AM4 Motherboard. (Cheapest ITX board on Newegg) $229.99 GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1660 OC 6G Graphics Card. (Dual Fan) $48.99 Intel 760p Series M.2 2280 256GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 (Boot Drive) $64.63 Mushkin Silverline 16GB ( 1x 16 GB ) DDR4 PC4-19200 2400MHz (Why would I do such a foolish thing as to run in single channel, you ask? Because of the limitation of only having two DDR4 slots on this motherboard, and since I am planning to upgrade to 32gb for server use, I don't see much of a better option) $49.99 EVGA 500W 80 Plus Bronze PSU (Cheapest REPUTABLE power supply available on Newegg) Later, outside of the budget, I will be buying a $79.99 3TB Barracuda 7200RPM HDD For all the games. Let me know what you think and what areas I can improve on, thank you very much. P.S. I am also looking for the both the cheapest 1080p 144hz ips monitor, as well as the cheapest 1440p 144hz ips monitor.
  8. Hello everyone, For a long time, I've been playing console games for a very long time, but I did play some pc games from time to time, however, I never take pc gaming serious. Until, I've been watching gaming mods like Skyrim and Fallout on the pc, and it got me curious in trying out pc gaming with my laptop. I can run some games that I have in Steam, but I wasn't strong enough to play smoothly and I have to tone down the graphics to play. Now my laptop is reaching to where it can't hold up today's standards or something like that, so I decided to build a gaming PC. So I've been sitting down on how to build my own PC. Seeing prices, benchmarks, understanding benchmarks (still trying to learn), looking into the specs, the whole nine yards. So right below this is what games I'll be currently planning to play, and apps that I'll be using for the next few years and my ideal build would look like, as well the target budget for the PC itself (not including monitor, I got a different question, about that), and I need feedback if this build can support the games I'll be playing and render my content. Estimated Budget Cost: Ranging less than $1,000 USD What games I'll be currently playing in this PC (Max Settings): - Fallout (3, New Vegas, & 4) - Smite - Destiny 2 - Apex Legends - Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut What applications I'll be using in this PC: -Photoshop -Premiere Pro My Ideal PC - AMD Ryzen 5 3600x CPU - Asus TUF B450 Plus Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard - Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200 RAM - Kingston A400 240GB 2.5" SSD & Crucial P1 1TB M.2-2280 MVME SSD - ASRock Radeon RX 580 8GB Phantom Gaming X GPU - Cooler Master Master Box MB510L ATX Mid Tower Case - Thermaltake Smart 600W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply - LG 34UC79G-B 34.0" 2560x1080 1080p IPS FreeSync 144Hz Monitor The Total amount of the PC itself is roughly around $817.55 USD - without tax/ with the monitor is around $1296.55 USD - without tax For a visual look on the parts listed above, I used PC Parts Picker to build all of these As for a keyboard and mouse, I already have a good keyboard and mouse that came in a bundle during Black Friday along with a wide mouse pad, all for a single price :) For the monitor, the reason I separate the price, is because 1. I'm still exploring other monitors and narrow it down I want in a monitor. 2. I'm worrying that the GPU can't handle a ultra wide monitor even if the monitor is a 1080p. What I want in a monitor is a high Hz (higher than 60Hz), resolution, IPS panel, ultra wide, G-Sync/FreeSync (depending on the GPU of course). HDR is not so important to me at least, unless there's a good reason to chase HDR. That's all I have so far, now I'm looking forward to everyone's feedback, please let me know what am I missing in this build, is there a better PC part that I may overlooked, got a better recommendation for PC combo parts. Does this GPU can run a 1080p Ultra Wide monitor? If not, what GPU can run a Ultra Wide monitor for gaming? Also, does anyone have benchmark those games, especially Fallout 4. Throughout my research on finding the right CPU and GPU combo for Fallout 4. I believe the game is CPU intensive game (that's why I chose a higher CPU). However I am looking for a cheaper CPU and GPU combo that can run Fallout 4 max setting while I'm modding (High setting is also acceptable). I been using this website that shows the game's minimum and recommended specs, as well showing the estimated averages FPS in each resolution to find the right CPU and GPU combo. The sit is called Game System Requirements, I know this site doesn't give an accurate result, that is why I'm asking for an actual benchmark results from an actual person. So if you do have a radeon rx 580 and R5 3600x (or 3600) do let know how well does that combo work for this game. So sorry for the long message. This is my first build, and I want to get it right and I am a little nervous on putting these parts together. Thank for reading this, and have a great day.
  9. Budget 2 - 2,5k euros, flexible Aim: Gaming Monitor: MSI Optix MAG27CQ Peripherals needed: OS?? Somehow able to migrate previous key? Without an optic bay? Why upgrading: Current PC GTX 970 / i7-4790K / 16 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3, prebuilt (Obviously), bought for 970 euros several years ago. Still somewhat competent, but aging is starting to show aging in certain games. FPS dropping even below 20 at times, having to use lower settings to a point that people would become headless after a short range in Kingome Come: Deliverance.More importantly, having some actual disposable income now and somewhat keen to get something more high end for once. Preferrances: Reliability, quiet, comfortable (To build, to live with), nothing too flashy. Previous knowledge / experience: Nada, zilch, nothing. Played with pcpartpicker for like 2 years and watched a lot of LTT, JayzTwoCents and others a lot. Carrying over from previous PC: Keyboard, mouse, headset, 2 TB intel 660p, maybe an unknown 1 TB SATA SSD Need help with: Part picking: - Am I able to build a complete PC with everything I've selected so far, am I missing something small, but very significant? - Are there somehow incompatible parts? Size? Version? Support?) - What case am I supposed to go with? Originally wanted to go with be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 Rev 2 but got unsure, if it would choke the PC from lack of airflow. What I've currently picked for just below 2,2k euros at a local store: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Hazunia/saved/wq4XP6 Like stated, I've thought about building my own PC for a long, LONG time, never had the courage, but now I'm slowly starting to get the confidence to try. The build started at like way over 5k build and switched from intel i9 9990k to i7 9700k and eventually now to AMD. and I feel like it's just about ready to be built. Questions lingering in my mind: Is the Motherboard appropriate for the plan? Should I wait for DDR5 to be released and revise the build more again later? Should I wait for intels answer to AMDs processors? WHICH FREAKING CASE SHOULD I USE??? Am I competent enough to actually handle the cable management? I'm far too insecure and in dire need of friends. P.S. Yes, I'm aware building is supposedly easy, yet all of these long time professional IT youtubers seem to wreck their PCs on a regular basis and a lot of common people posting comments how they mucked up. So it seems to me like it's people who know what they're doing telling noobies it's easy when it's only easy for THEM, not for us peasants. And sometimes it's hard even for the pros it seems.
  10. I'm trying to put together a build plan for a purpose built windows storage computer. It will only be used to backup camera's/microphones/old FCPX and Premiere projects. It needs to have at least 6 TB storage to start, be capable of fast transfer speeds and upgradable in the future. Price range: $1500, but multiple options would be appreciated.
  11. I am starting to think about changing my pc to a rack mounted (definatly not inspired), What would be the best rack mounted case. What gpu should I upgrade to, Planning to do 1440p 144hz, i have a rx 570. thinking about a 2070S And what 1440p 144hz monitor should I get? planning on the VIOTEK GN27D 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor I have a budget of $800 US
  12. Hey guys! I'm a researcher working in an infectious disease institute in the UK. We often find ourselves in situations needing big compute resources. I've been tasked with building a (headless) server for use in ML (machine-learning) (CUDA/tensor) applications as well as other things which reqire many CPU threads and RAM. The machine will sit in our office so thermal/noise considerations are key, and it will be in an upright case. The budget is pretty open ended, but I was aiming for the £15,000-£20,000 mark and then some more budget options aswell - but big value for more cash shouldn't be a problem. This is what I have so-far: If anybody would like to contribute I'd be very much open to reccommendations on girthier machines. All the best, Dan
  13. Hello there, Since my last post, I'm 1 step closer to ordering the parts for my new pc. I'd love to have your opinion before ordering everything. Budget and location: Around €1000 ($1100), I'm located in Belgium, but the prices I got here are from The Netherlands (free shipping anyways). Purpose: This will be my all purpose pc. Meaning it will be used for common tasks like web browsing, watching videos, mail, etc. But I will also be using it to play some games. I don't really play all the newest high demanding games, but I would like to be able to play games GTA V, World of Tanks (max settings), minecraft with shaders, etc. I also do some slight photoshopping, but nothing too fancy there. This pc might move homes from time to time, which is why my motherboard must have wifi. Build parts: Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv Mini ITX (€83) Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI (€230) CPU: AMD ryzen 5 3600 (€195) GPU: Gigabyte gtx 1660 SUPER GAMING OC (€260) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8gb 3600MHz (€90) PSU: Corsair RM650 (€88) Boot drive: ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro NVME 512GB M.2 SSD (€84) Extra drive: Crucial BX500 480GB SATA SSD (I have that one in my old laptop right now, so I'll carry that one over) Extra case fans: 2x 120mm be quiet! Silent Wings 2 120mm (2x €11) Explanation for some of the parts: I chose to go with an x570 motherboard because of 2 reasons: future upgradability (and overclocking) and WIFI (not that many wifi mini ITX B450 mobo's with wifi available in Belgium). The case has 1 fan included (120mm) which will be mounted at the back (exhaust), the 2 be quiet! fans will be mounted at the front (intake). I think they should still fit with the full size gpu. I have a copy of windows on the Crucial SSD, which I will clone on to the ADATA M.2 SSD. The crucial SSD will then be used for general storage and less used programs. I think the stock cpu cooler should do the job for now. It will probably be the first thing I'll upgrade when I start overclocking though. What do you think? I'm still a bit concerned if the 3600Mhz ram will be able to run at full speed? Are there some obvious conflicts or problems with my build?
  14. Budget (including currency): $800 US Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Ableton, Native Instruments, Waves, Possibly COD and Minecraft Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am a mac user and because of Apples continuation of price hikes and locking down the platform I've decided to try my hand at building a PC. I'm currently working on an iMac. I primarily do audio production but I also do light photo and video editing (all 1080 short videos). I also play minecraft which hasn't been the best experience on my iMac. I've looked into AMD because of the price vs. performance. I came across what I thought was a deal. I purchased an MSI B450 Gaming Plus max motherboard for $80 on craigslist. Not sure if this was a good deal or. Because of this purchase I'm starting to plan my build. I've started on PC part picker. I'm just looking for advice on whether or not i'm on the right bath or being an idiot! Thanks for any help! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ppw6zN
  15. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/Ps74ZR Planning to build this pc and was wondering if any of the parts would bottleneck another part and if there are any changes i should make
  16. Live in Australia for starters so the pricing is right. Budget is $3000 +/- ~$100. PC got fried by a lightening strike. Insurance is covering, because it was custom they're just paying out for a new build. This is predominantly a gaming computer. No video editing, streaming. Just looking for the most performance for the money - games on ultra with very good fps still. I watch movie/tv on it as well and have HDMI running to 4k TV for streaming Netflix/Hulu/hbo/etc. I have 1 monitor, asus pb278q 1440p. Was looking at: Cpu: i7-8700k Gpu: Nvidia1080 ti card Ram: 16gb of g.skill trident rbg 3200 maybe Storage: Evo 960 1 tb motherboards: Asus rog strix z370 Psu: ~850w power supply Cooling: nzxt kraken x62 cooling I'm looking for opinions on if there's places I should upgrade (cpu, ram, motherboard) and case suggestions. I have my Corsair air 540 case still but don't know if that'll hold this so open to suggestions for a case. Also anything I may have forgotten. Thanks for your help guys. Nothing is set in stone, this is just where I'm starting.
  17. Hi there! I'm trying to plan to make my first custom rig, and I have ideas, but I don't know how to go about making sure the rig I've planned will do what I need it to. I plan to do a lot of gaming and content creation, which is why I chose AMD over Intel. I like to stream and record my gameplay, the streaming happening on twitch, and the recordings going to YouTube {just for pleasure mostly}. But I also do a lot of digital art, both for pleasure, and to get better, since I want to get into the field of production art and animation {I'm going into college for it}. I like to play games from a lot of different genres, but my favorites are RPGs. I'm really hoping to get at least mid to hopefully high or even ultra settings in some of my favorite games like all the Fallout games, Skyrim, The Witcher 3, WoW, and Saints Row 3 & 4. I also do 3D modeling, rendering, and texturing in Blender, which I need supported as well. I've recently gotten into Fortnite a bit, so low to mid settings for that would be nice, but not a requirement, as I'm not super into it. I really only checked it out because I kept hearing about it everywhere and I wanted to see what all the hype was about. It's ok I guess, but it barely registers on my personal game radar. I live in the USA, my max budget for the components themselves is $2,500 but would prefer to keep it closer to $2,000 so I have extra room in the budget for a good 4k, non-curved, monitor, without having to save up more. The other peripherals I already have from either already ordering them, or from pre-builts I've had in the past. I currently only have a laptop, and am looking to get the rig and all its parts by the end of this year. I'm considering waiting to buy everything around Black Friday/Cyber Monday, since I heard that you can get good deals on parts around then, but I don't know. This is the build I've planned so far, critiques and tweaks are very welcome!! The case I'm pretty firm on though, same with the Blu-ray drive, since I still like to watch DVDs on the computer, and I mostly have Blu-rays these days. Everything else is flexible though! 18. Now that Christmas has come and gone I'm left with about $900 USD to put toward a PC (Give or take a hundred). I would like a build that can be easily upgraded later on and I would like it to run a decent amount of games smoothly; For example: PUBG and Rainbow six siege. I want to run two 1080p monitors and upgrade to one ultra-wide eventually. I already have Speakers, monitors, keyboard, mouse, mousepad, and storage covered as well as an NZXT Phantom 410 case (which already has 6 Corsair fans). I'm not sure if I could use one of the power supply's or motherboards I already have to save a little money but I will list them below just in case. MOTHERBOARDS: ASROCK Fm2A88M Pro3+ GIGABYTE DX10 HT3.0 AM3+ POWER: 300W Power Supply (Tag got scratched off at some point.) 550W Power Supply ( Logisys Ps550e12 550w Power Supply ) Also it will be running windows 10 (which I own already). Any help would be appreciated and keep in mind i can go up to an even $1000 USD for a bit more performance.

I do also enjoy gaming when I find time for it. Could you share some thoughts on this? Will the 850W PSU be sufficient even when I add in more RAM and switch the 1080 for two 1080ti's next year AND mildly OC the CPU? Should I change something for a better price or performance? The RAM was mostly chosen because of the aesthetics - so it matches the white/grey/black of the mobo and the rest. Any bottlenecks?
  20. I'm planning something like the following part list for VR http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/Lfckcc With th a budget of ~£1400, give or take £100 I know that the screen is awful, but I'm on a budget and I'm mostly interested in VR (hence the OSVR and 1070) or games like KSP/Cities Skylines/Factorio which have hardly beautiful graphics, but can be CPU intensive. I also plan on running a couple of servers on it (Backup server for laptop/phone, XDMX main server, etc.), hence the 32gb ram, and using it to compile stuff by sending code remotely when necessary, which is why I chose a 220W CPU. The whole thing is going to be moved a few hundred miles every couple of months or so, as I will be at Uni from from Sept/Oct onwards. Any major errors in part choice? And anything I should watch out for when travelling with an AIO liquid cooler?
  21. Hello LTT forum, I hope you all are having a great day! I'm going to build an entirely new gaming pc and it's going to be quite a kick-a$$ system. Here are the specs http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gGFw99 However as you might have seen there is no case selected and that's just the problem. I can't seem to decide upon a good case for my build, I originally thought of the Phanteks EVOLV ATX case and if not recommended otherwise I will probably purchase it. Some general info: I live in Sweden and my budget for a case is not limited. I plan on using this rig for gaming, I will also overclock the system so it will be able to handle 4k gaming. (I will have my case on my desk) The case must fit the rig I'm going to use and must have a side panel window. I would prefer a case that is not too big (for an example Corsair's obsidian 900D is too big for my taste). I also like unconventional cases that really are beautiful. Cube cases, full/ mid towers are suggestions are welcome. As stated previously the case doesn't need to be a budget one. Also please leave an explanation of why I should use the case. Anyways thanks for reading and I would really appreciate some help.
  22. So I am planning to finish my build but got the idea to watercool it shortly after its built. I'm just asking the LTT watercooling wizards to validate that I have what I need to do it. edit: It's late so I'm going to sleep, I'll see the thread in the morning. 23. Hello! I am planning a new gaming PC build, it will be focused on gaming (no video editing or higher demanding tasks) and average computer use everyday. I want to be able to run games at high/ultra settings on 3440x1440p or 1920x1080p without issues or noticeable framerate drops/stuttering. Overclocked is planned after some use but not right away. I would like to know what you think about the following: -Are any of the components more or less than what I need? -Is there better or same performance for a lower price? (Keeping in mind the white/blue color scheme) -Are there any components coming out in the near future (4 months give or take) that would be worth waiting for? -General comments about the perfomance/quality of the components. -Any Ideas you have in mind about it! One of my main issues is the PSU, I have a general idea but I am no expert on the topic. I also think the CPU cooler and graphics card may be more than needed but it is one of those things you just want to see there unless theres something that really blows it away. 24. Hey guys, I'm posting my entry into the MSI Build Your Dream Contest here, and if you lot want to post your entries here as well, we can all try to win! I know it's not LTT related, but I am pretty sure it doesn't violate the CoC. Anywho, my build is called Tuunbaq, and you can check it out and give it a like if you don't mind! Thanks and share your entries here too!
  25. Hello ppl. I'm new in this forum, and I wanted to share with you guys my plan to setup an unraid gaming rig/nas box just like the one Linus showed on his "Use your Gaming PC's Extra Power as a NAS Ultimate Guide" video, and perhaps have some feedback from you guys. My goal is to: 1. Have my W10 gaming rig working as good as it is today; 2. Use it as a NAS box; 3. Use some spare sata hd's together to get share space; 4. Use the benefits of having a virtualized system for backups, yada uada 5. Have some of the storage performance benefits of unRAID. My hardware: Case: Corsair Carbide Air 240 CPU: Skylake 6100 Cpu Cooler: Noctua NH-L9i Motherboard: H170M-E-D3 (only 4 sata ports.... : /) GPU: Asus GTX 970 Turbo RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600MHz PSU: Silverstone Strider Plus 1000W SSD: Toshiba Q SERIES PRO, 256GB HD: Well.... there's a 1TB 2.5", another 500GB 2,5", I think there's also a 320GB 3,5"... Ok, I know there's not that much HD space for a solid NAS, also not a lot of SATA ports, but I want to make a proof of concept to see how unRAID virtualization behaves. I'm thinking on making a Share for Steam library (not-very-often-played games), 2 fast space for the w10 gaming vm being one for the W10 installation and one for apps/games installation, and perhaps another share for music/video/photos (or one for each...). Has anyone did it? Well, anyway, I got to reinstall W10, so I think I'm going to do it anyway. If anyone got any recommendation, I would thank's a lot!
