  1. Hello, my PC just blue screened and according to Windows 10 it was dxgkrnl.sys and after some Googling I figured out to fix this I would need to reinstall graphics drivers (which I did) but I am not sure is this my excessive overclock which seemed to be stable (I made a post before this one). Any help would be extremely useful thanks.
  2. Recently I have purchased Ryzen 7 3700x, Asus TUF x570 Plus MOBO, Corsair 3000mhz 16GB stick, nVidia RTX 2060, Samsung m2 256GB ssd, now recently I have come across a multiple blue screen error and restart. Does anyone facing similar issue, In the blue screen it shows Critical structure error, etc, Bios is on latest update and use the genuine copy of Windows 10pro which was recently purchased as well.
  3. Just set up AMD eyefinity with an rx580 strix 8gb, and two LG 25UM58 ultrawide monitors. Windows blue screened with the error win32kfull.sys and now I can't see windows, or the post/bios screen. I have tried swapping in a different graphics card, and resetting the CMOS to no effect. The pc is probably now in startup repair, since the keyboard isn't connecting anymore. How can I fix this?
  4. For those having constant BSODs using an AsRock motherboard with Crucial Ballistix RAM, I have found a fix that not many people have suggested, and I want to make it more known. If I had known to do this earlier, it would have saved me from a week of troubleshooting and trying to fix blue screens. My build uses an AsRock B450 Steel Legend and Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer RGB 3200 MHz RAM, but this fix may also apply to other AsRock motherboards and Crucial RAM. Here is a list of the blue screens I was getting (if they do not match what you are getting then this fix probably won't work): memory_management system_service_exception irql_not_less_or_equal pfn_list_corrupt Here are the steps I took to fix this issue: Run the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool. I just did a single pass basic test. If you get an error, you probably have the same problem as me. If not, it's probably because of something else. (Optional) Replace your RAM. It may be because of faulty RAM. However, this may not be the issue, and isn't what fixed the problem for me. I actually did replace my RAM, and was still getting errors when running the Diagnostic Tool. Go into motherboard BIOS and make sure your motherboard is running the RAM at a high enough voltage. My motherboard was only supplying 1.2 V, and my RAM needed 1.35 V. Run the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool again. If you got an error before, but don't get one now, the problem should be fixed. After doing steps four and five, I haven't had any blue screens for over two weeks. If those steps didn't fix the blue screens, and you are still getting errors when running the Memory Diagnostic Tool, you probably just have faulty RAM and should get it replaced. Hopefully this helped fix the issue for you as well though.
  5. I recently had to change my Asus prime b360m-k mother board due to bent pins. I changed it to the gigabyte aorus b360m gaming 3. now whenever I boot I’ll have a blue screen at some point after turning it on and then it’ll restart and work fine until the next time I shut down and try and boot up. Every blue screen has been for a different reason two of them have been Unexpected kerne mode trap and Kmode exception not handled. Any help would be appreciated. I have gone through device manager and checked individually every driver to make sure it’s up to date and got the latest bios on the motherboard.
  6. My computer is around 2 years old and I thought that it was time to add some more ram to my computer. This new addition of x2 8gb trident gskill ram is identical to my previous ram and should act the same. After putting the ram in it starts normally, I was amused and instantly went to play the new star wars game. But after about 20 minutes I was startled to see a blue screen. I thought that it might just be a one time occurence but no, my computer continued to blue screen about 20 minutes after I started my pc everytime that I attempted to start it. Not all of the blue screen messages were the same, but they are all linked to ram issues. I am currently playing without the use of my new ram and am only using my old ram. I have no clue as to what is happening nor do I know how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.
  7. I built a pc for my little brother in the summer. After a short while he started getting bsod, it got worse and worse and in the end he got multiple a day. Right now when I tried to get the information needed for this post it has blue screened three times. The most common bluescreens error messages: machine check exception page fault in nonpaged area whea uncorrectable error Steps I have tried: Change the ram configurations different amount and slots Update bios, drivers and windows reinstall. SFC scan and chkdsk Any ideas on how to fix it? 8. sometimes when i first turn my pc on my games like to say i dont have drivers installed so i reinstall them and typically that works today and yesterday though i have bluescreened every attempt to install them anyone have any ideas?
  9. Hello, TLDR: Random bluescreens at system startup and shutdown. Randomly couple boot cycles during startup after which the BIOS has to be recovered by pressing F1. Issue 1. For the past year or so i have had random bluescreens when starting and shutting down my system. I started googling the error messages from the blue screens, i don't have list of all of them but one common one is "Kernel Security Check Failure Error" and have done all the recommended measures, updated all drivers that i can think of, scanned for viruses, enlarged hibernation file, reseated RAM and SSD's, uninstalled old software... but nothing has helped. As a final resort i updated BIOS, this did not help either but intorduced a new problem... Issue 2. After the BIOS update i noticed that my Samsung 960 EVO 256 Gb was not visible in Windows. This happended because the M.2 changed to the wrong mode after the BIOS update, after changing the setting back the drive started to work again. But sometimes when i start my computer it does these ~2 second boot cycles for about 3 times, only then it goes to the black screen where it says "press F1 to recover BIOS settings", this does not happen every time, once i press F1 i have to change the SSD setting back. What could cause the BIOS to fail like this? Honestly I am tempted to just go and buy a new Ryzen system, but as my setup is still quite decent, i would appreciate if we could find a fix for the BIOS setting and bluescreens, which i think are related. 10. Hello forum, I just took apart my powerspec pc in hopes of replacing its cheap a320 board with a b450, and I managed to do that successfully. However, windows is extremely unstable now, and I have some blue screens for you guys to analyze. I am resetting windows as I type this, but it has taken an hour so far for windows to “get things ready” any ideas? Thanks! p.s: there are a lot more blue screens but I can only upload 20 MB
  11. This bsod is oddly specific and very frustrating. Every time i open Rainbow Six Siege i get the Page Fault in non paged area bsod. I have tried reinstalling the game on a different harddrive, i tried reinstalling the anti cheat service. I tried memory checks and disk checks, and finally i tried updating windows. This all happened following me accidentally kicking the pc mid-game causing a crash.
  12. Hi! Follower of LTT since NCIX but first time in the forum. Im having a lot of problems with my PC. All started with Windows 10 becaming unstable showing 3 or 4 different blue screens, searched the codes and all pointed at errors in the hard drive (SSD) missing files etc. Decided to analize the SSD in my laptop with an external adapter, results came perfect, nothing bad with the SSD to explain losing this files. I made a mistake by erasing every partition in the SSD, including SYSTEM etc, in other post saw about easeus to recover this data. But my problem has expanded, - made a bootable USB with RUFUS, but i cant make it work with any SSD or HDD(already used this method multiple times before) - UEFI bios freezes sometimes 1 or 2 weeks before blue screens started i had another problem, my PC wouldnt start until i switch off and on the PSU. CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x Motherboard: Asus X470 Prime RAM: 16GB Corsair 2133 SSD: ADATA 128 GB XPG SX900 PSU: Corsair AX860
  13. Alright, so I started building my PC in late august, so it's probably too late to return any parts, I’ve been busy with high school. But here is what is happening, part list is listed below. When I first turned it on, the BIOS appeared to work fine. I then tried booting windows from a USB stick. I was met with a bluescreen. The error message said “PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA” I looked up the error, to see what could be the problem. It looked like it might of been faulty drivers or bad RAM. I tried booting with no GPU, that did not help. I was tired and packed the PC away. The next day I ran Memtest 86, the test came up with no errors present. I came back to it on memorial weekend, where a friend tried to help me. We tried using his USB stick to boot from, that did not work either. I went to Best Buy to buy new RAM, to see if that would change anything. Of course, this did not work. I then returned it back to Best Buy the following weekend. Later I ordered a new SSD to see if that would help, because I found a “support list” for the Motherboard. It looked like the RAM and SSD were not ‘supported’. And of course, this did not help. Recently I ordered a new motherboard, and got a new USB stick. This time I was able to install windows onto the SSD. The trouble came back when I tried to boot from the SSD to finish the install and set up windows. The same error came up again. I really do not know what to do. Do you guys know? 14. Hi everyone I bought a new rig from amazon and it arrived 3 days ago. I built it and booted it up to the bios and it recognized everything, but when i tried installing Windows 10 via usb i got the Aourus logo then a blue screen. The error I got here was MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION. After that I took it to a technician he did all sorts of troubleshooting, ram were working fine. We tried booting it up with an i3 8th gen and it booted up correctly. After that i had the idea of updating the bios to see if it would work and it did. We updated it to the 10b version. (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z390-AORUS-MASTER-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios) I went back home installed steam, antivirus and normal programs. A couple of hours later, the blue screens came back but this time 5 different ones. I tried both ram stick separately it kept giving a blue screen. Here's a list of the errors I on this point: Critical process died KMODE exception not handled KMODE exception not handled with an error below it saying "ntfs.sys" Page fault in non paged area Bugcode NDIS driver I spoke with some friends who own pc businesses and they say its the MB but the technician that helped me says its the CPU. I have until the 11 of September to return whats faulty, I'm living in Colombia, south america. So I would need to send whats bad asap. Thank you all you for taking the time to read this. 15. I recently got my hand on some second hand hardware. As you have probably read from the title already, I am experiencing some strange behavior... Specs are as follows: Intel Core i7 7700K Asus Strix Z270H Gaming/K1 1151 Asus ROG Strix 1070 Ti Samsung 850 EVO 500GB Seagate Barracuda 1TB Corsair TX650W Cryorig H5 Ultimate CPU cooler Corsair Vengeance ddr4 2x8gb 2666MHz All of the components are used. I first built the computer on top of a cardboard box to troubleshoot. Standard procedure. I was having trouble reaching BIOS but this was quickly resolved by simply reseating the ram. After this I was able to go into the UEFI and validate that all of the connected hardware was recognized. Cool. I then tried to install Windows but the installation process was continuously interrupted resulting in a corrupt install each time. This was when I first raised an eyebrow. In order to further troubleshoot I connected another SSD which had Windows previously installed. I load into Windows and I blue screen almost immediately. I tried rebooting a few times but would always crash either before loading in or shortly thereafter. Needless to say I tried resetting BIOS multiple times in order to resolve this, making sure the settings stuck. It would not work. I cleared CMOS, updated BIOS to the latest version, swapped both RAM and power supply. Nothing helped. I then tried tweaking some settings manually: I underclocked the processor to 3 GHz (all core) and set the voltage to a fixed 1.2V. This worked. It didn't crash in Windows and it managed to pass stress tests such as Aida64. After this I raised the clocks to 4.2 GHz keeping the voltage the same. This also worked. I then increased the clocks to around 4.7 GHz, still using 1.2V, and that also worked - much to my surprise. After pushing my "luck" for a while I eventually reached something unstable which resulted in a BSOD. "No big deal" I thought, but lowering the clocks back to 4.5 GHz (stable just a few minutes ago) resulted in constant blue screens again. WHAT? ? I started over with an underclock -> "stock-clock" -> overclock (@ 1.2V) which brought me back to where I were. Although the behavior was weird, I decided to build the computer properly into a case ( Corsair Carbide SPEC-DELTA). Around this time I also decided to delid my 7700K in order to exclude temperature as a variable and I also installed Windows on the 850 EVO mentioned above to avoid potential driver clashes. I tuned a few more settings manually in BIOS such as Cache frequency (among others) in hope of making things more stable - and for a while - it really was stable. I even managed to hit 5 GHz (!) at a reasonable voltage: ~1.3V. I had some seemingly random crashes throughout which made me dial it back down to 4.7 GHz 1.2V and I found that to be stable for almost 5 days. I was really happy (although confused) and I used the machine daily for both games and web browsing. **Keep in mind that throughout this entire troubleshoot I had been trying to use stock settings and it NEVER worked** Unfortunately it started crashing again... And now I can't reach 4.7 GHz anymore. I can't even reach 4.2 GHz. Stock settings or "optimized defaults" still also don't work. The only thing working at this moment is a substantial (handicapping) underclock such as 3 GHz. **Has anyone ever experienced something similar??? I don't have another compatible motherboard or CPU to properly troubleshoot further. You guys are my only hope! Any input is appreciated!
  16. Hey. Recently I've gotten the same BSOD multiple times "system thread exception not handled". I scanned the .dmp files through WhoCrashed and got the report on the screenshot below. It seems like it is caused by the file "ntoskrnl.exe". How do I fix or reinstall this file?
  17. I recently purchased the Razer Blade 15 Advanced (2070 max-q), and have had some serious crashing/blue screen of death issues when the laptop is not plugged in. (VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE, VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL) When I am at home, this is not much of an issue because I use it at my desk, where it can be plugged in. Issues arise when I use the laptop for work/school. I've been doing a bunch of creative work recently, and the number of blue screens per day is increasing dramatically. Today, for example, I had 4 blue screens. Sometimes this was during heavier use (After Effects CC and InDesign simultaneously), but other times it happens during simple tasks such as web browsing, importing files from my camera, or opening a word document. At this point, I plan on getting a replacement from Amazon. Before I do that, however, I want some more opinions. Is it worth getting a replacement or should I just get a refund and buy something else? I chose the Razer Blade 15 because of its mix of high performance and high build quality. I don't know what other laptops would be able to replicate it. I need my laptop to be powerful enough for work, but still portable enough for school. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions they would be greatly appreciated, thanks! EDIT: Just to clarify, I will be returning or replacing. I'm just looking for help deciding which option to pursue/other laptop options.
  18. Hey guys. I recently built a PC and it went to blue screen error because I tried system restoring because I had HDD and SDD problem. So I am replacing Specs - Ryzen 2600x, ASUS ROG Crosshair HERO VII (WIFI) Croshair Vengance 16gb RAM, Samsung EVO SSD. My question is should I also replace my motherboard which is a Crosshair Hero VII (Wifi) to fix this problem? I don't have Warranty the MB thats why I want to know. Do you think that the motherboard has any reason why my computer went to Blue Screen Error? Do I need a new MB because I am getting a new CPU? Thanks
  19. I am facing a weird errors while using my pc, like critical process died, Kernel Security Check Failure and the most common and mostly this is the one i face everyday is unexpected store exception. I thought i get this error only while gaming but mostly gaming but i have got this once or twice while browsing too, Everytime i play league of legends i have a chance my pc may crash with the unexpected store exception, I have even got this in while using the client, I do not what device is causing this i have tried a clean windows, tried installing on sata ssd on nvme same error everytime once it starts to get a while, One more thing is weird that once i get this error my ssd is no longer detected by bios and i need to cut power off to the pc from socket in order to make it work again, But i checked my ssd heath from hdtune and crystalmark software and its all ok and good heath, I do not know any longer what to make of this, i cant seem to solve it and is hurting my everyday life, ALso yes i have all the stupid amd drivers like chipset and stuff. my system is Windows 10 Pro 1903 64Bit Ryzen 3 1200 Radeon 6670 1gb DDR4 8gb 3000mhz MSI b450m pro vdh v2 Samsung Evo 860
  20. Hi, I really would appreciate some help. I have a two year old custom gaming pc from Cyberpower that I use for heavy motion graphics Here are the specs 4.2 GHz Intel Core i7-7700K Quad-Core 32GB DDR4 RAM 240GB SSD + 3TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (11GB GDDR5X) In the past 3 months I’ve been getting progressively consistent BSODs (most often System Service Exception, APC Index mismatch, Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap, Page Fault in Nonpaged Area) Here’s the history- I’ve done a clean install of Windows and updated it, updated all drivers, done CPU and Hard Drive diagnostic tests and Memtest with no errors. But my graphics card failed the Superunigine benchmark test. So I took it to a repair shop and they said it was the PSU that wasn’t supplying enough power to the graphics card, with the amount of processing I was making it do. They put in an 850w PSU and additional cooling. I bring it home and I’m still getting BSODs. I then got a used 1080 gpu and tried running the benchmark and it also failed. I’m at a loss at the moment. Could someone point me in the right direction? Could the pins connection the GPU to the motherboard be faulty? Could it possibly (I really hope not) be my files? I ran the HDD scan test on both HDD and SSD with no errors. The blue screens seemed to be getting progressively worse, at some point I couldn’t even watch netflix without it bluescreening. I've attached Minidump logs, hopefully they're helpful. 072219-6125-01.dmp 072219-6218-01.dmp 072219-6562-01.dmp 072219-6828-01.dmp 072219-7406-01.dmp
  21. My issue started a while ago after a particular windows update by laptop bluescreened with the error code: 0xc000021a. I managed to fix it by rolling the system back to before the update. Everything was fine for a couple of weeks Today on start up I got the error code again so I proceeded to go through the same notion of rolling the system back. This appeared to fix it. However when I got to the lockscreen I could not get to the password box to type in my password and log in. Here is a gif showing the issue: https://gfycat.com/admiredfrankleopard

  23. Ok so everytime for the past 5 driver updates I have bluescreened with the same error every single time, I re login and the driver has installed and everything works perfectly fine, very weird, is there a fix for this? 24. Hey, yesterday began having some issues with my computer, I'll give a quick run down on what happened. Was just playing TF2 at the time and the screen froze temporarily, before it looked like horizontal stripes, went white then turned off and went to restart. Upon restarting I got a blue screen, to which I chose to return to windows and it went in fine. After about 10 minutes the same thing happened again though. This time I could not get back in. I've also noticed some weird stuff upon starting the computer. The initial motherboard screen has weird artifacts over it, along with a second screen has appeared very quickly after that that I had never seen prior to this. I've attached them both for reference. I'm not sure whether this is a coincidence or an actual problem. I'm able to get into the computer with safe mode though. Windows attempts an automatic repair and all I get is the Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC With the log file D:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt which I've also attatched At the bottom it mentions the problem: Root cause found: --------------------------- Boot critical file d:\boot\resources\custom\bootres.dll is corrupt. Repair action: File repair Result: Failed. Error code = 0x2 Time taken = 8016 ms Looking into that directory, that custom folder does not exist, in the resources folder though, the bootres.dll does exist. I've tried a few suggestions from other forums but nothing has worked so far. I'd much prefer not to have to refresh windows and just get this working properly. I'm also not sure if this is a hardware issue or software issue due to the things I mentioned before with the motherboard screen. Thanks for any help. If any other info is needed I'm happy to give SrtTrail.txt
