Hi guys, Some of you have heard already about the bendgate issue with Skylake. Questions - How would I know if I need to tighten/loosen the screws on my CM Hyper 212X cooler? If I can move the cooler a bit (pivot it/turn it) in its current state while attached to my system, does it mean I didn't tighten it enough and I shouldn't be worried as much to be concerned about bendgate? Do I need to even check my CPU? Because I think checking might cause some damage to it... A little hep over here

So the punch is in the headline, I knew that any phone could bend... That only depend what amount of force is required. I just want to share my story. I were rush to delivered a reservoir and I was expecting a call from my home phone and my cellphone, so i pick it up both and put it in my inside chess pocket. At some point I needed to lift that reservoir and its bulky and it weight about 75-100 pound, so I lifted it up and lean against my chest then i realized that both phone where under great pressure on my chest. I filed the reservoir and open my pocket... my xperia was over the bulky cordless phone so the xperia kind of roll around the cordless phone. The front screen didn't crack, but now it's bend the wrong way i understand why LG curve one of their big phone the other way it is really weird to swipe between the top and bottom and look videos. Apparently it's in the family because my father cracked his glass 2 times before the third time cracked the screen behind it making it unusable even if his nexus 5 was each time in a case like in this picture. Someone know a case with a front screen protector but not just leather, he need something live steel or something like that that don't bend if we put 200 pound over an area as small as a fingertip because he never dropped it he just put in his pocket and work in the shop so sometime he push something with his leg or the phone is press on a corner of a table then cracked.

Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/25/apple-bendgate_n_5883298.html So Apple finally breaks silence with the whole BendGate issue... Here's what they had to say: Still, if the phone got bent under normal usage circumstacnes, then it's a product design flaw in my opinion...

Original article: http://bgr.com/2014/10/08/how-to-unbend-the-iphone-6-plus/ This is just silly. It seems like your phone would either crack, or be bent too far in the other direction.

I know it's overhyped and pointless, but we can still have a good laugh So, what's the best #bendgate joke you heard? (This is just a a search for the best joke and to have a good laugh, not a discussion about it, I'm bored of that too ) Here are mine: Source: 9GAG

Potential reason for the bending issues of the iPhone 6 Plus
ZeroBreaker posted a topic in Tech News
http://www.businessinsider.com/why-the-iphone-6-plus-bends-2014-9 'It’s just that under a particular type of flexing, the phone is prone to bend mainly because a metal insert meant to reinforce instead spins in an axis too close to the critical point. If they were further apart allowing better support to counter the flexing and not spinning, it would make it more resistant.' Potentially, this is may be a reason why the iPhone 6 Plus has been bending, simply an issue of internal design and not inherent aluminium / thickness weakness (although they undoubtedly contribute). Some images here: What do you guys think? Anyone well-versed in this area got any thoughts? EDIT: From Gizmodo (i know, i'm killing myself as this is typed): 'Update: We asked industrial designer Don Lehman to take a look at the explanation and respond. "It makes total sense," he says. "If you look where the creasing happens in the aluminum, it makes sense because it's directly next to a very rigid bolt." He also points out that this has only happened to a minuscule fraction of users, and it's unlikely that the design will change. "If we opened up a 6 Plus a few months from now, would it be the same? My guess is yes." ' Personal opinion, for what it's worth: This makes way too much sense not to be relevant. May be down to bad scaling by apple, or simply may have been overlooked. Apple have still not given a reason for the bending, only told us how many cases they are aware of and how they test. The fact they aren't telling us what is causing the issues (unlike antennaegate where the cause was well publicised and acknowledged) says to me that a structural design issue is to blame. also first 'news post' and maybe even my first topic so criticism is much appreciated -
DUN DUN DUN !!!! Alrighty folks, Story Behind the news; This is not a fake/photoshoped image, or a manipulated attack ad or something apple haters did, This an actual mishap at a berlin stadium , What makes this funny is the fact that the billboard bend exactly the same spot where the actual bend occurs! Leave your thought, & Please Don't start a war... B) keep it calm & smooth..& stay cool as always..

Lou from unbox therapy, had make a follow up video to his 37millions views bend iphone video to proof that he does not exert ridiculous amount of force to bend the phone. In this follow up video, iphone 6+ was more bendable than the first video. First Video Follow up video

"Unboxing" and First Impressions Gold 16GB Unboxing Experience: So Apple has been said to have some of the best packaging and unboxing experiences around. Other manufacturers have started to catch up. This go around Apple pulled a bit of a fast one changing their typical box art to an embossed outline of the device. Along the side there is no "6" next to the Apple logo and iPhone leafing. The lettering is colored the same the color of the phone. Inside the box you have the phone, a tray/envelope with stickers literature and sim tray tool, and underneath the nicely arranged Earbuds (same as last generation) lightning cable and charger. The charger doesn't offer any faster charging than previous versions and the USB side of the lightning cable isn't reversible as a lot of people conjectured it might be. Overall it's the same ol' thing we're used to for the previous generation iPhones (the 5c changed things up a bit). I wonder if they went with the more minimal box art to throw off all of the bootleg manufacturers stuffing iOS skinned android internals inside dummy iPhone 6 units? Design: So this seems to be a polarizing subject. It's a fairly large change in design language for Apple. They've gotten rid of the sharp edges and chamfers to try to create a seamless and continuous looking device. They even rounded the front glass to make it flow into the curvature of device's side. It felt weird in my hand at first but I quickly got used to it. I think the metal unibody looks quite nice. A lot of people say to looks like the HTC One, but holding it makes me think of the Sony Xpheria Z2. The antenna bands are probably one of the most controversial design elements. While other manufacturers (and previous generations of iPhone) have tried to hide these to varying degrees of success, Apple has put them in the forefront. Widening and making them high contrast on this version of the phone. I'm not a fan of the gold colored iPhones in general, and the white antenna bands compound that. The silver and space grey versions are more subtle and the direction I'd go if choosing a color. Apple has updated the look of the buttons to match the longer flatter look of the phone. And that's probably the biggest and most noticeable design change the size. Apple is actually having to play catch up when it comes to offering larger phones and displays. The iPhone 6 is very noticeably larger than the 5/5c/5s. It's still not all that large in the wider spectrum of Android phones, however. A big concern for me is the height of the device. They've moved the power button to the right side, but the device seems taller than it needs to be considering the size of the screen. It's taller than other devices that have a .5" larger diagonal screen size. The height is undoubtedly has to do with the thinness of the device and the fact that their design language requires it be vertically symmetrical. I like the feel in my hand. I can reach all 4 corners of the screen. But I have fairly large hands and others might have more difficulty. Apple introduced "Reachability Mode" which allows the actionable items on screen to slide down to within thumb's reach but tapping (not pressing) the Home button twice. It's somewhat similar to "One Handed Mode" on Android phones. Not very elegant but will work if you're on a busy subway using a railing with one hand and your phone with the other. I also wonder about the ability for users with smaller hand to reach the mute slider/button with one hand. You can easily flip it in your hand and slide it with your thumb but if on a Facetime call or watching media you might not want to have to do that. We'll see if other people see this as an issue as well. Some other small touches are the shiny Apple logo on the back of the device which is a separate component and the protruding Camera which as caused a bit of uproar. I don't have a problem with the Camera sticking out as long as the Sapphire glass covering it doesn't scratch or crack! Construction: I like the overall design of the phone and a big part of that is the construction! Yes I am fully aware of #BendGate and all of the drop tests. The 4.7" iPhone 6 doesn't have nearly as much of a problem with bending. That said I believe Apple has a responsibility to address this in a more comprehensive and helpful way than they have so far! People are paying up to almost $1,000 (regardless if you get it on contract or not you end up paying the full price of the device). To dismiss this as only happening to 9 people in the first week of the device out spits in the face of consumers IMO. It's not a problem unless Apple says it's a problem apparently. Apple has said of the iPhone 6, "iPhone 6 isn’t simply bigger — it’s better in every way [sic]." I put [sic] in there because I can't stand the way they talk about the iPhone as if it's a person. It's a Phone, use definitive articles you Jackasses! Sorry... Dat digression... But this bending issue isn't new. Previous versions of the iPhone, and even many Android devices, have had issues with bending in the past. If this device was better in every would #Bendgate be a thing? Putting #bendgate aside I think the rest of the construction of this device is quite nice. The metal body feels nice and other than the huge structural design flaw in the 6 Plus especially, seems like it should be fairly durable over time. I would definitely recommend using a case with this device! I don't like cases. They impart too much of their own style onto something I'm buying because I already like it's design. Even if I get tired of the look I'd rather get a skin, which also protects against scratches, than a bulky case. But alas it has been shown that with cases the likelihood of bending or screen shattering is greatly decreased. The screen is not Sapphire Crystal. It's "Ion Strengthened" according to Apple. Some think this is because it either cost too much or they weren't able to get the manufacturing difficulties worked out. I've heard people express the desire for Apple to offer it as an option because they'd be willing to spend the extra cash for piece of mind. This however isn't inline with Apple's stance. They want to make 1, well now 2, device(s) that is perfect for everyone. They've broken their stance that the iPhone display needed to be larger, and also that they'd only ever offer 1 device so maybe more customization will come in the future. The lens and home button do have Sapphire crystal covers. So the protruding lens should hopefully stand up to most abrasive surfaces and not ruin every picture and video you take. And you won't lose Touch ID to scratches on the button. Hardware: Screen: User Experience: Camera Review Coming soon... Comparisons Coming soon... Should you buy??? Coming soon... Lewis at Unbox Therapy did a full analysis and bend-test on the iPhone 6 and 6S aluminum shells. The new iPhone 6S shell will use the new 7000 aluminum alloy, just like the Apple Watch did. Taking a much more professional approach than last time, he actually tested the composition of the alloy first using an XRF analyser at a company called Elemental Controls. Later he tested the amount of force required to bend them on a rig with scale that shows the exact amount of force needed to bend the shells. The bend-rig was supplied by dbrand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChUsy8gWwvo The results are quite significant in my opinion, the new iPhone 6S shell takes about 80 pounds of force to bend, where the iPhone 6 shell took only 30 pounds. Note that this is only the amount of force it takes to bend the shell, the phone when assembled is likely to take twice as much force to bend.
