Hey All! IDK if this is the place to post this, but I would love some guidance on how I should proceed in getting a MOBO replacement. TL;DR - My Asus Tuf Gaming X570 PRO-Wifi has died yesterday and my warrenty expired back in October 2023. After reaching out to Asus, I have determine that my choices are to either send it in for repair (which they said could cost anywhere from $75-$200 depending on the hardware issue) or purchase a replacement (either new or used). I would Like some advice on If I should send my board in for repairs, or just say "screw it" and buy a different one. My current system core components are: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x Radeon RX 6900xt 64gb (2x32gb) of Crucial Ballistix 3600mhz cl16 RAM Samsung 980 Pro 1TB SSD (OS) Crucial P5 plus 4TB (games and projects) Corsair RMx1000 PSU The key features I want/need on my MOBO are: 2.5g Lan Onboard Wifi 6 or higher + bluetooth two M.2 slots (at least one being PCIe 4.0) USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-C Front panel connector So far I have narrowed down my choices to the following MOBO under $200: New Boards w/ 3 Yr Warranties: Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 ($140) MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI ($160) Used Boards w/o Warranties: MSI MAG X570S Tomahawk Max WIFI ($175) ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING WIFI II ($200) I am leaning towards buying the Gigabyte board, as it does like 80% of what my old board did, comes with a new warranty, and it seems like the best bang for the buck. However, I am not opposed to sending my board for repair. I have a laptop and an Xbox Series X, so I'm not deviceless on the computing and gaming front, but I dont know if its worth it to potential spend the same amount of money to repair it as it would cost to just by a replacement. As for used options, I am hesitant. While they are high end MOBO's, and newer than my current one, I have heard a lot of horror stories in regards to used boards, and I don't necessarily what to be in a similar situation in a year or so (at that point, it might make more sense to just upgrade to the AM5 platform). So, what do you guys think I should do, should I go new, used, or repaired? I am also open to different options/perspectives if you have them! I dont REALLY want to change platforms rn, but if you have differnet MOBO suggestion, I am all ears!

I'm trying to build an entry-level PC for 1080p gaming, I plan to use: AM4 Ryzen 5600 RX 6600 / RX 7600 1x SSD 2x 8GB RAM I'm aware that the price difference between A520 and B550 MOBOs is very small, but I still wonder which one does above build actually needs.

Hello everyone.. The question might sound weird but i just want a second opinion.. My friend recently told me to build his gaming pc.. he had a tight budget so i was looking for deals.. and i found one.. i picked ryzen 5 2600 with a b550m aorus elite as a package for 100$ US, now considering his usage he won't be upgrading that 2600 for atleast a year or two.. since he doesn't use his pc that much.. so he has no problem if i swap his b550m aorus elite with my b450m pro vdh max.. Now my build has a ryzen 5 5600 which is overclocked to 4.8ghz all cores at 1.24v.. i compared these results online and i am in a luck with my processor.. this is a really good oc for 5600.. and i tried cinebench r23 for 6 hours straight and i had no issues with the stability ever i m using this oc for about 7 months.. Now i have a gen 4 nvme ssd.. and my current mobo support gen 3.. and also b550 aorus has some other great features like 3 pin argb headers.. also it probably would make more sense in my opinion to use that board with my 5600.. Still i want to confirm should i switch to that board? And is the vrm config better or atleast same on that board compared to b450m pro vdh? Since i do want to keep my oc.. i know i have a option to try it but i want to get some opinions before changing everything

Last week I upgraded my CPU, motherboard, and cooler to the 5800X3D, Asus Tuf B550+wifi 2, and LianLi alc360. And I'm noticing that the CPU has very short spikes in temp while on my desktop. Is this behavior normal because I don't remember my 5600x spiking in temp for a split second and then ramping back down? The motherboard bios are the most recent (3405). When nothing is happening the package temp is 41c but the spikes go to 70c. Could it just be the lighting software or Chrome running at startup that is causing this?

We (Me and my colleagues) have had quite a lot of issues with one streaming PC we use for our business. We've had originally two identical systems: Ryzen 5 5600X Gigabyte Aeris DDR4-3000 CL16 2x8GB MSI B450-A Pro KFA2 RTX 3070Ti SG Crucial P2 500GB be quiet! Pure Power 12M 750W be quiet! Dark Rock Slim A few months ago, one of the PCs spontanously wouldn't post at all which is very bad when this happens in front of the customer that paid good money for recording and streaming of their order. Luckily, we mostly carry both of them to the site, so we can replace one if it's not working. After that job was done, I've got the PC to see, what's wrong with it and we've known from the very beginning, that the GPU is broken (it won't even work in the second machine and the GPU holder never did a great job in these systems), so I've ordered a Gigabyte RTX 3070Ti GAMING OC as an replacement, as well as an Ryzen 7 5700X (the 5600X wouldn't recognize the known good GPU from the second PC). After a few days, both parts came and I've began replacing the CPU and the GPU. I've tried powering it up and: NOTHING, Error LED ended on GPU. Then I popped in the old GPU and it partially worked (sometimes it crashes but hey, I can see the Desktop and FurMark also ran pretty reliable again (except sometimes it hard-crashed and wouldn't power up for 30 minutes). Because we've not replaced the motherboard yet, my colleague searched for one and came up with the MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus, so we've ordered it. We put it in and: NOTHING, Error LED ended on GPU or RAM, so I've googled, if there are compatibility issues with the Gigabyte GPU and the MSI Motherboard and sure enough, there are forum entries that say that some MSI boards don't like Gigabyte GPUs. We've returned that motherboard last week and bought the Gigabyte B550 GAMING X V2. I threw it in today and: NOTHING, now the old GPU isn't working on it anymore as well. Lucky Me, I have a small PC buzzer speaker laying on my desk, so I plugged it in and: 1 "long" (like POST OK) and 3 very short beeps and nothing more. Gigabyte suggests that the RAM is the issue, but this isn't true, we've already tested it in another known good computer, but sometimes it also means that there are issues with the GPU, so I grabbed a very old Gigabyte GT 630, put it in and: We've got an image!!! First thing I did was to set the PCIe slot to Gen3 mode and: nope, updating bios: It won't recognize the file I downloaded from Gigabytes website for that board as a valid firmware (I unzipped it, renamed it to gigabyte.bin, etc, etc etc.). At least, the old KFA2 GPU works now in Gen3 mode, but that Gigabyte 3070Ti seems to be broken out of the box. One of my guesses was also that the PSU is broken (11.9V on 12V, 3.25V on 3.3V, 5.06V on 5V) but my colleague said that it won't be the issue, considering the fact that these machines aren't even 3 years old. The problem with that Gigabyte GPU is that our seller won't take it back as it's more than 3 months in our property.

I'm attempting to replicate the settings described in Tech YES City's youtube vid 'How to UNDERVOLT Ryzen 5000 series CPUs (FULL Tutorial). I've got a Ryzen 5700G on an ASRock B550M ITX motherboard. The settings I'm looking to change were called the following in an ASUS BIOS: CPU Core Ratio VDDCR CPU Voltage VDDCR CPU Offset Voltage In the ASRock BIOS I am unable to find these settings. Anyone here well versed in the ASRock B550 BIOS?

I was looking at the Asrock B550 Pro 4 but MSI's B550 A PRO seems better in a roundup video I watched. The latter is only 10 dollars more ($150 CAD on sale) and it sounds like a better offering. Are these good options? I want to upgrade a bit from the Ryzen 5 5500 down the line as well

Budget (including currency): $120-150 for motherboard, $20+ for RAM upgrade (i'm ok with buying used) Country: Belarus Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: No plans to play anything newer on this system, software development for now, running NAS with a bunch of docker containers and a linux vm. My MSI X470 GAMING PRO died couple of weeks before, so now i have a hand me down b350 (it's a super cheap MSI board) with ryzen 3700x from a friend (with an idea that when i get new MB i gonna sell his stuff and pay him, with no need to rush though). I'm planning to do full upgrade in about a year from now and use this mb+cpu+ram in my NAS. Right now i'm looking for two things: motherboard and possibly RAM upgrade. For motherboards i'm mostly looking at ASRock B550M Pro4, but concerned with polarizing opinions and reviews. I want to be able to overclock as much as possible for this budget (i have an NH-D15 and pretty good airflow with 5 140mm case fans). Also as it's gonna be working 24\7 (without overclock) later in NAS, better VRMs look appealing. I'm mostly concerned about ram OC capabilities (some people write that the fail to get even 3000 xmp) and bios options (as my MSI X470 kinda had a really bad bios). Also want to leave myself an option to later upgrade to 5900x-5950x (like really-really later when 3700x would be insufficient for NAS\Server use case). With RAM, i now have on my hands 4 sticks of G.Skill F4-3000C15-8GTZB (8gb SK Hynix) and 2 sticks of Kingston KHX320C16D4/8GX (8gb), with 4 sticks i'm able to run them at 3200 16-17-17-34 (tRC 55). So my question is, are there some go to bang for the buck 16 gb sticks by now so i could have 32gb with just 2 sticks and have higher clocks (as far as i understand i 3700x should be able to run with 3600+ memory). If it's much more expensive than what i have now i'm ok with what i have, but if it's like $20-30 to get from 4 sticks at 3200 mhz to 2 sticks at 3600+, i'm already gonna sell a bunch of hardware why not do a little upgrade.

I built my PC new, around 2 months back and it worked fine till now, this weird issue is occurring since a week or two. I highly doubt if its CMOS battery. Windows 10 64 Bit. UEFI. CSM is disabled. Boot priority is set to Windows Boot Manager first. Hi i've recently changed mobo to B550 Plus Tuf gaming and i was surprised how cpu fan was quiet compared to old board. Now I know that it's issue. I can't play normaly and OC CPU. In Ryzen Master it shows very high temp but in BIOS and Asus AI Suite 3 it only shows 11c degrees. I don't know what's the problem. Can you help me to fix it? How should i approach it. Is the motherboard damaged?

Hey, AMD 5600x Asus B550f I bought some faster DDR4 Ram than i currently have it should be arriving today, yeah yeah waste of time, money and all that. I am going to be taking out 4 sticks of 8gb ram 3200mhz cl 16 and replacing with 2 sticks of 16gb ram 3600mhz cl 16 My question(s) is do i need to reset bios before i switch the ram over or should i be expecting to do something else? ( i was hoping to compare benchmarks with current bios setup no biggie if i have to reset) Also this ram is not on my motherboard qvl list of memory but its Corsair Vengence RT will i be running into problems do you think? https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b550-f-gaming-model/helpdesk_qvl_memory/ https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/p/memory/cmn32gx4m2z3600c16/vengeancea-rgb-rt-32gb-2-x-16gb-ddr4-dram-3600mhz-c16-memory-kit-a-black-cmn32gx4m2z3600c16 Thanks in advance ( i blame you @freeagent)

Hi Everybody I have recently purchased 2 m.2 drives that are exactly the same capacity from the same manufacturer. They are installed into an old B360 motherboard. One drive is a boot drive, the other is storage. I will be upgrading the motherboard to a B550. The new motherboard has dual M.2 Connectors and I want to make sure that I install the boot drive into the right M.2 connector. Is there a way to identify the boot drive with information from the computer that can then be checked against the physical drive (e.g. a serial number) Thanks
-
Had this combo for a while now, don't really have any issues (although I get random stutters every now and then, not sure if this is because of it) just wondering if it's worth upgrading the motherboard to an x570/s. I use 2 m.2's and a sata SSD currently, but will eventually use all 3 m.2 slots instead as I understand this would be the main reason to upgrade since the m.2's would use the chipset instead correct? PC Is used for gaming and heavy multi tasking. 5950x b550 aorus master RTX 3080 32gb RAM

So I'm building my first rig and the only part I still can't decide is motherboard. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GRDMPX (prices are set to local) Main concerns right now: 1. Is wifi worth it? I find it useful to being able to share my mobile internet when the main one has some troubles, also would want to be able to connect the bluetooth headphones if I decide to get some. I'm not sure if getting separate wifi card would be cheaper than just getting it with mobo 2. Is front usb c needed? My case has it but I have no use of usb c as for now, not sure if there is anything useful I could use it for in the future. And is there much difference between the front and rear options on practice? 3. Is the audio quality difference noticeable enough to pay extra for it? 4. Do I ever need all of the extra slots and stuff from the full ATX board? So the choices are following: 1. Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 Price: 169$ Has front usb c and looks the best fitting overall, but I have read plenty of reviews about usb issues that varies between revisions (the one in my store is apparently rev. 1.2). Also have read a lot of bad stuff about gigabyte bios and software 2. Asus TUF Gaming B550-Plus Wi-Fi II Price: 171$ Apparently very similar to aorus but with rear usb c instead of front 3. Asus TUF Gaming B550-Plus Price: 150$ Same but no wifi? 4. Asus TUF Gaming B550M-E Wi-Fi Price: 139$ Has front usb c, looks like the best deal for its price so far, but not sure about the audio quality and if the slots will be enough 5. Asus TUF Gaming B550M-Plus Wi-Fi II Price: 148$ Looks about the same as above but with rear usb c instead and one more usb 3.2? 6. Asus TUF Gaming B550M-Plus Price: 124$ The most budget option without wifi 7. MSI PRO B550-P GEN3 Price: 118$ Another good atx deal with no wifi but with front usb c (I think?) 8. MSI B550-A Pro Price: 147$ More expensive version with read usb c Would appreciate any input on whether it's worth overpaying for it, I don't plan to update for some years at least and I really don't want to deal with some random troubles so I want to go with the safest option available

My old motherboard (ASROCK B550M Steel Legend) died, so I bought the MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk. I installed it and assembled everything together. Everything boots up perfectly, but what isn't is the fact that I cannot get into the internet via the cable. The same cable functioned well just few hours ago. Okay, so this computer has never been connected to the internet before with this brand new motherboard, so I shoot up the MAG B550 Tomahawk product page on MSI.com, navigate myself to the "Drivers" tab, pick Windows 10 64-bit, choose LAN Drivers tab, download drivers on my laptop, put them on my USB stick and connect the USB with my computer. I extract the file, run the installer ("Install_Win10_10065_05032023"), and the InstallShield Wizard pops up. I press Next - Install and it stars to install the Realtek Ethernet Controller Driver. It installs and installs, then tells me that Detecting Realtek Ethernet Network Controller and suddenly "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug The Cable". Okay.... that's odd.. I press "Finish" on the InstallShield Wizard. Then I open up Device Manager from Control Panel and under Network Adapters, I only see 8 different WAM Miniport's (IKEv2; IP, IPv6; L2TP, Network Monitor; PPPOE, PPTP, SSTP). Under "Other devices" I see two Ethernet Controllers with the yellow (!) mark. I've watched tons of videos, one video mentioned some kind of killer network ethernet driver, but they're not available on the MSI site anymore, as they used to be previously. So what kind of options do I have left to debug this stupid issue? Thanks for the help!

A few months ago I decided to upgrade my pc to a ROG Strix B550-F Gaming (WI-FI) and Ryzen 5800x, and have found it struggles to maintain a solid internet connection when connected to both Ethernet and Wi-Fi. I have been busy wrapping up my final semester of college ever since, so I haven't had much time to sit down and troubleshoot this until now. According to various internet speed tests, while plugged into ethernet I'm getting an expected 500 mb/s down. But in reality, when I'm watching YouTube or just trying to connect to my Gmail, the video will stop loading about 5-10 minutes in, even at 1080p quality, and the Gmail will just sit there and spin for an endless amount of time. Downloading games on Steam is almost completely fine in contrast though, and I'll get a near-constant 60 mb/s the entire way through, no matter the size of the game, and I almost never lag in Discord calls or multiplayer games. On the flip side, if I switch to using the onboard Wi-Fi, I suddenly only get about 50 mb/s down, compared to my phone which will get roughly 300 mb/s down in the same spot. My phone does have Wi-Fi 6 support, while I don't believe the B550 board does, but I still wouldn't expect the difference between the two to be so extreme. Using the Wi-Fi, I don't have the same issues while watching YouTube or connecting to my Gmail, but it can be a little slow while loading websites and browsing the internet, which I expect at that speed. I will, however, start cutting in and out of Discord and any multiplayer game I'm playing, with my ping suddenly spiking up to ~1000 every 10 minutes or so. Would anyone have an idea of what could be causing this? I believe that all of my drivers are up to date, and I did not have these same issues on my last motherboard/CPU combo which was a B450 Tomahawk (non-max) with a Ryzen 3700x. My current pc specs are... ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING (WI-FI) Ryzen 5800x 32gb 3600 Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB (4x8gb) RX 5700 XT GAMING OC 8G The Ram and GPU have also remained the same since my last motherboard and CPU, and I've been using a completely new install of Windows 10 Pro on a freshly formatted SSD ever since switching over to the B550 and 5800x. Not sure if any of that would have an impact on this issue, but figured I'd throw it in there just in case. I also have Fios 500mb/s up/down.

Hello, I noticed that b550m is cheaper than the b550. With my current plan for my custom built pc on PC specialist (UK) does the b550m skip on anything that I should better go with b550 non m If there isn't much that could harm performance I might as well cheap out and go with the B550m This is my computer I'm planning on CPU: 5700x GPU: 4060 (when it comes out) Motherboard: B550M/B550 Do let me know if you need extra info on the pc but I think I listed all the essential bits on this debate. I'm planning to play games and stuff like blender and stuff

I have bought a Asus Prime B550 Plus as an upgrade to my Asrock B450m HDV R4.0. Everything was working on the Asrock B450. I transferred my 5800x, 3080ti and 2x16gb ram and it would not post :-( I thought it may be the bios so switched out the CPU for a 3900x and it booted fine this time and I updated the bios to the latest version 3002. I reboot and it showed the updated bios version. I switch the CPU back to the 5800x and it would not post it powers up, you can hear it adjusting the CPU fan rpm, but it just cycles through the ram, CPU and GPU QLED leds endlessly. I've reset the bios multiple times, tried different ram with 1 and 2 sticks, I switch out the GPU for a Nvidia 710. No change. The support is not much help either just asking me to use QVL ram. Any ideas what it could be?

nvidia Nvidia RTX 2060 not showing display on new motherboard
AliRaza27 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
NEW BUILD PROBLEM Hi, I been planning this new built for months and i finally i get to do it a day ago where i run into an issue. My graphic is not showing display or working on some motherboard specially not the one i bought (Gigabyte b550 ds3h) I will write this whole summary/timeline that might help diagnose the problem. This is my current specifications: Motherboard Model - B85M-G43 Ram - 16GB (DDR3) GPU - Nvidia RTX 2060 CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 Power supply - Cooler master Masterwatt lite 700 This is specifications i got upgraded to: Motherboard Model - Gigabyte b500 d3sh Ram - 16GB (DDR4) 3600hz GPU - Nvidia RTX 2060 (same) CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Power supply - Cooler master Masterwatt lite 700 (Same) I also got a liquid cooler by Thunder and a case The problems i had with my old PC that made me upgrade are as below: 1) My system won't go into bios so if i wanted to go to bios i had to plug a DVI cable instead of a display port (This method worked for a while) 2) I felt like my system was well bottleneck 3) My games like Forza Horizon 4 would freeze for a moment also my Logitech g29 won't work as it intended to. 4) Due to the reasons I can't go into bios i had to install windows on top of another and can't even even properly format a drive so there's might be duplicates of file which i heard can cause issues in games. (Files conflict) 5) Lately my graphic card was heating up a lot so i thought the thermal paste needed to be changed. Now i got scared yesterday when my graphic card wasn't showing display and the pc builder started saying things like your graphic card is dead etc until he test it on different motherboards afterwards and it worked but with some but not mine b550. I Bought that card in 2019 and he said that graphic card only last for 3 to 4 years which is surprising to me. Long story short, I left my pc to him for him to diagnose properly as i got busy with a lot of customers and i had drive back home (another city) and it was getting dark. I Just talked to him today and he still pointed out my graphic card. I thought it would be thermal paste that cause heating issue but now i think otherwise. I need help, suggestions. These people probably not know any good and i thought i should come here . -
Hello, I have just got a new mother board for my new Ryzen 7 5700x. This is the MSI B550-A PRO. I knew, that I had to update the BIOS, before the system would work. Therefore, I settled on flashing the BIOS using M-FLASH. However, the process does not stop. I have tried several times with different USB-drives, different BIOS versions and a wide range of durations. Each time I have formatted the USB-drive as Fat32 before putting the Bios-file onto the drive. Then renaming the file to MSI.ROM. CPU, GPU, HDD, SDD, NVME and RAM is disconnected. At this point, I would appreciate a bit of help, to solve my issue.
