Just now I am looking at my next build's case on one screen and looking for its fans for the foreseeable future on the other. I like how my rig looks and all but I haven't upgraded in a while. This time I really want to get it right. What is your preferred layout/style ? Monochrome ? RGB or no RGB ? A little gold ? or do you make artpieces like twomad and DIY perks Or do you not care at all and pick whatever's fastest ? (with a closed case of course Me? I can't even decide if I want my GPU to be vertically installed.

Hi guys, looking for some help in choosing a secondary monitor. I have a Dell S2716DG as my main monitor at the moment and I want to buy a second one. The 2nd monitor doesn't need to be as powerful as my main one. So 60Hz 1080p will be perfectly enough the only catch is I want it to visually look as close to my main monitor as possible. Just for aesthetics. The most similar one that I found, by the pictures, is P2719H. Is there anyone who has both of these monitors and can confirm the visual similarities? Maybe someone had this situation too and can suggest another monitor. Thank you

Hi i'm a first time desktop builder although have worked on a lot of pc's before. My main question was to see if anyone else had some ideas on anything else I may need and also give some feedback on my parts list. My current budge is about $2500 US dollars and am willing to spend more if something I find i really want. I already have a keyboard and mouse and only need monitors for my peripherals. I always strive to go for darker/night themes whenever possible while browsing the internet. I just came across the Night Theme for the forum today and have been loving it so far. Let us know what theme you use! Edit: Since it appears there are already a few results showing that people are unaware of the night theme (as I was), you scroll down to the bottom of any page and you'll see "THEME" with a drop down box to switch between them. Hello, I recently put together a new AMD based PC, and want to know if I've done a good job, does the cable management/aesthetic look fine? Is there anything really wrong with it or is it okay? An aesthetics question I've had as I plan my future custom loop build is what sleeving and coolant would look best with a wide range of RGB colors? For example, if one week I had the lights all Red, then decide to change the lights to Purple, I would still want the sleeving and coolant colors to look aesthetically pleasing with the different colors. Most builds I see keep to a certain theme (black and red, black and white, etc.) but I'm a flaky person and frequently change my mind about how I want the color coordination to come out. Not to mention the whole fun of having RGB components is to have a wide range of colors to experiment with instead of the typical Red and Green. I know I could go with clear liquid and black or white cable sleeving, but I was wondering what other color options I could go for. Thank you!

I'd like a wide variety of different designs, so go ahead and flood this post with anything and everything. Mini ITX or Micro ATX will "probably" be the board of choice, but that's up in the air. I made my first ever pc with success and I know it has no gpu it’s coming in soon but I want to make this pc more aesthetically pleasing something different some fresh new idea. So if anyone can think of something to make this look better besides the obvious sleeved cables or water cooling systems or rgb strips something fresh I’m looking forward to the ideas!!!

Hey! I have 3 identical looking screens from 2 differend brands in my setup currently. They look completeley the same (exept the logo obviously) but their stands are 3 different ones. For aesthetic reasons i want to buy 3 identical stands (wich probably woul attach via vesa?). But i can only find wall/table mounts or dull cluncky looking vesa stands. I would need a good looking one and dont want to attach the monitors to the wall. Any sugestions?

Hello community, I am almost ready to build my first AMD based PC, and I'm leaning towards R6, but I would like to explore other options before setting on it, and instead of rummaging through the million cases in every online store, I thought asking you wonderful people for your suggestions. Hi everyone. So I've been thinking about building a PC for quite some time. I want to build a PC that can handle both extreme gaming and work load. I tried to build some PCs on website like maingear.com but it's confusing with so many options available and getting everything top tier might get the job done but with a big cost. So i guessed that there might be some tested and benchmark-ed configurations out there that will do the job for me without costing me a fortune. Although I have very high expectations from this build such as it should be able to handle big deep learning models and graphically intense upcoming games like Forza Motorsports, Hitman 3 at least 60 fps on a 4k monitor with ultra settings for years but I'm willing to spend accordingly. The GPU I have targeted for this build is the Nvidia RTX 3080 or 3090 with Intel Core i9-10980XE 3.0 GHz LGA2066 processor. But i will appreciate if i can be corrected and get the help i need. I'm a bit of a showy person, so I'm deciding between MSI's X570 and Z490 boards purely on appearance (I have a 3950X or an i9-10900K depending on which board I pick), but I'm just curious about the little screens at the top right of the mobos. The X570 one seems like it's just black and white OLED while the Z490 one seems like it has a proper coloured display. I did see a video where the X570 screen looked blue so I'm very confused. Are the screens the "same", or is the X570 actually just black-and-white?

Hi guys, So I purchased a b450 tomahawk max for a pc Build that I'm doing. HOWEVER, I've been having this dilemma all morning: I originally wanted to buy the Asus b450-f rog strix gaming motherboard that I think look very nice and thought it would look great with the rog strix 1070 triple fan that I want to buy. But the reason I went with the tomahawk was that people just said its a great board while the Asus is Overpriced and pay for aesthetics - I was thinking about putting a Ryzen 5 2600/3600 or a Ryzen 7 2700x that I purchased for a good price. Did I make the right choice and could I use the rog strix if I wanted or would I face some sever advantages? Some said something about "Vrms" (I'm new to pc building so sorry) being not that great - does this really matter much? Thanks all

This is pretty straightforward: does anybody have any case recommendations, for somewhere under 70-80$, that preferably but not extremely necessarily have a window(even acrylic) and have a minimal, non flashy design with decent cable management and airflow?

After deciding to build a gaming PC from scratch and asking for a few opinions from here - I decided to go with the build suggested by @shadowbyte Now, here is the issue - I live in India where prices are pretty high for any component and I have only the choice of online stores, namely - 1. www.amazon.in 2. www.theitdepot.com I was wondering if anyone could give a look over this build and suggest some optimizations so that the price remains under INR 80k, or if really needed, can go upto 90k. I plan on using this rig for gaming(Witcher 3, The Division, Assassin's Creed Syndicate - would like around 60 fps on Ultra) and productive work(College Student). I would love for the build to have a bit of lighting and look aesthetically good.

This generalized description could easily be posted in the "New Builds and Planning" forum, and I get that. But the main mental debate that's eating at me is case selection (at the moment) so that's why I'm putting this topic here. Right then, so I've been browsing components, binging review videos and build guides, delving through forums, and slowly losing my mind for nearly two months now. In that time, I've learned that PC building is made as easy or as difficult as the builder wants (for the most part). I could easily look at a recommended build guide and say "Yeah, I'd like to have that," and then build an exact replica and have that be my own personal computer, but it's not PERSONAL, you know? Granted, buying a manufacturer's case isn't technically "personal" either, but there's a line of rationality to be drawn between people who build computers with a passion and people (like me) who do so simply because it's how you get the best price/performance ratio (for the most part) and plus you get a LOT of customization options and upgradability options that you would otherwise either not have or be heavily restricted on with a pre-built system. That said, I would want my components to be within that middle-ground of having a number of functions that I would actually take advantage of while also maintaining that visually appealing aesthetic that really synergizes with everything else and truly creates an artistic masterpiece. "But Fudo, this is PC building, not art class, dummy." And I get that. It's a computer, not a sculpture (although if most of the housings for components are a combination of 3D-printed parts, does that make it artificially "sculpted"? Hmm, questions for later) So, this particular thread regards PC cases and what would be the "best" one for ME. (Though I would also like the results to possibly help other nitpicky people like myself have a general idea of the process of elimination or whatever when it comes to case selection) Price isn't really much of a concern of mine (though I'd really like to shoot for sub $200 if we're being honest), however I know for sure that I'll be in the ATX Mid Tower or Full Tower range. I don't have the absurd funds to fill up an Ultra tower, otherwise I'd probably just shove a bunch of hardware inside a Cosmos II and be done with it. The NZXT Switch 810 is probably about as close as I'm going to get when it comes to case design, visual appearance that I don't hate (but don't like, either), features and functions, etc. Here are the general "wants" for my "dream case" that are dictating my decision-making process: White, Silver, White/Black, White/Silver, Gray, Metallic White, Metallic Silver, etc. (basically I don't want an all-black case. Having it as an accent here or there is fine, but I want it to be primarily white to go along with my build scheme) [Using an Asus Z170 Deluxe for the board, so you get my point, yeah?] Generalized front I/O (headphone jack, microphone jack, 2+ USB 2.0, 2+ USB 3.0, Reset switch) HOWEVER with a pre-integrated SD CARD READER (seriously, with how much file transfer I do with those things with cameras and my phone, I'd really like one of those) At least two 5.25" bays for an optical drive (and probably a fan controller or something if one isn't already installed in the case) Optimized for both liquid and air cooling (I'm not really picky about radiator mounting options since I don't see myself doing a liquid-cooled rig for a long time until otherwised convinced to do so) Fan filters at a variety of conceivable intakes (Like how the Switch has two small ones instead of one large one along the bottom of the case, one for the power supply and the other for possibly a bottom-mounted radiator or something [I think, I'm no expert in theoretical computer physics]) Modular drive cages with different mounting possibilities and combinations (Like how the Phantom 630 has a few drive cage variants that you can move around or just take out completely based on your possible needs) Tool-less panel removal (for sides, top, front, etc.) [Much like how the Switch 810 has little "clickies" that secure the bottom fan filters, the front panel with the integrated filter, and the top panel that has that handle that opens and closes a vent. option] Ease of internal access (I know this is probably the most non-specific "duh" part of this list, but I have big hands) Solid cable management options (with a lot of rubber grommet holes and stuff as well as a mostly "roomy" space behind the motherboard and drive cages and stuff) Solid case construction (in terms of state of matter, all cases are solid [I mean technically a test bench is a case with panels made of "air"], but I want mine to have some rigidity to the overall construction of it. The 780T is a mostly poor example with the way it bends) Now, I know this list is mostly generic, but still. It's about as creative as I can get with it. In terms of upgradability I'll one day want to have two 980 Ti G1 Gaming cards from Gigabyte running in SLI, so there's that. My big gripe about Mid Towers is that they're not "roomy" enough, and since I'm air cooling, I'm a little paranoid about the flow of things, so anyone with advice in that regard is welcome to input their knowledge as well. Here's my component list for what I'll be throwing in initially: Intel Quad Core i7 6700K Phanteks PH-TC14_BK (undecided, but pretty sure) Asus Z170 Deluxe ATX Mobo 32 GB (4x8) Corsair Vengeance Dominator LPX Memory Samsung 950 Pro 512GB M.2 drive (will likely just hook it into the M.2 slot on the board, but the PCIe Hyper Kit adapter included with the Z170 Deluxe is another option) (2x) 4TB WD Black HDD Corsair Hx Power Supply (either 850W or 1000W, but I really want that Plat efficiency and I know I'll be doing 2 980 Ti's in SLI later down the road) I know this was a bit of a novel, but thanks to those who actually read through it and thank you to those who are willing to offer their time to provide their opinions on this matter. Hopefully we can figure things out, yeah?

What's everyone's opinion on computer parts when it comes to flashy heat spreaders or RGB colouring seemingly on everything these days? Do you actually care how your system looks or do you just want a system that runs games for you? I subscribe to the if it looks good and performs well then get it (given you can afford it) but that's not the case for everyone, as cost can be a huge factor when building a system. I like to take pride in my system so that when I go to LAN's I get to show off and some of my friends have taken to doing the same.

I thought of the idea of having a white, black and red colour scheme: Basically, the NZXT case I'm going to use is white, however it is black on the inside, all the components are either black or black and red, and I would also add a white LED light strip along the bottom on the window inside the case. It would look a little bit like this except the inside of the case would be black, the GPU would have a black backplate and it would be air cooled. Hello there, Tldr version: Need suggestions on CPU block, manifold, radiator and reservoir for following components. Also need to know if I missed anything important. Long version: I am building my first water cooled PC with a custom loop. I have built many PCs here and there for family and friends before but never ventured into the world of liquid cooling. I have gone over the FAQ already and wanted to know if my list is missing anything important. This is definitely going to be an overkill machine for my standards but I have decided to take the plunge at this point. All things considered, I care most about the aesthetics of the PC, and then the performance and then the noise level. I do want to run games in 4K and also run occasional video compression and encoding. I have never experimented with overclocking before; may be I will give it a try with this one. My budget is flexible. This is what I have so far: Intel Boxed Core I7-6700K 4.00 GHz 8M Processor Cache 4 LGA 1151 BX80662I76700K ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII GENE LGA1151 DDR4 M.2 SATA 6Gb/s USB3.1 Type A Type C Intel Z170 mATX Motherboard Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB DDR4 DRAM C13 Memory Kit, CMK64GX4M4A213​3C13R I am debating whether to go with 32 or 64GB; I usually get an itch if something is under utilized. EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti HYDRO COPPER GAMING (X 2) One might be enough for my needs, but with 2 I don't have to worry about upgrading in the near future. Corsair RM Series 1000 Watt ATX/EPS 80PLUS Gold-Certified Power Supply - CP-9020062-NA RM1000 Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 High Airflow ATX Cube Case CC-9011030-WW - Black I have bought the case already at a discount price so I am pretty much stuck with it. I do like the boxy look of it though. I also have 2 4TB Seagate SHDDs (will run in RAID 1) and will get 3-4 Samsung pro SSDs (not sure about the capacity yet - this is for dual/triple booting). Now the water cooling components: If I understood FAQ correctly, a system like this would need at least 3X240mm of Rad space (when counting CPU + 2 GPUs whose accumulative TDP comes to just under 600W). ​I wasn't sure where to start on Radiators, so a quick Google search yielded a review site that compared relevant radiators of 2015. Their overall best contender was EK’s XE 360 in thick category (60mm) and Hardware Labs Nemesis GTS in slim category (21.2 mm). If I decide to mount the reservoir in the drive bay slot then I can probably get away with 2 thick 360 mm radiators in the front; If I mount it with rest of the components then I will have to go with the slim one. Feel free to make suggestions here. I don't even know if I need a thick radiator or if an average or slim size will be sufficient. I have had my eyes on the Liquid Fusion X4 Quad Spiral Reservoir for a while but I was always afraid that my case may not have room for it; so I was delighted to find Liquid Fusion Dual Bay Reservoir, which sits in the dual bay drive. If I use the dual bay drive reservoir this leaves me more room for thicker radiators. The question is, do I need thicker radiators for my setup? I prefer the quad spiral but I will settle for dual bay reservoir without any complaints. I will be using six of these fans in pull configuration: Thermaltake Riing 12 Series High Static Pressure 120mm Circular LED Ring Case/Radiator Fan with Anti-Vibration Mounting System Cooling CL-F038-PL12RE​-A Red The pump I picked is Performance-PCs Über 655 Fully Modded (D5) 12 VDC Water Pump - Red. Most forums say make sure it's a D5 pump and nothing else matters. I want to have a red/black theme on there and will add UV reactive red liquid to hard acrylic tubes. The loop will probably go like this: Reservoir > Pump > CPU block > GPU 1 block > GPU 2 block > Rad 1 > Rad 2 > Reservoir. I will be using the Primochill 1/2" hard acrylic tubes that are available from Amazon. I haven't yet decided what fixings I will need. The FAQ page also recommended getting a manifold to drain acrylic tubes but I couldn't find much info on it anywhere else. I also haven't looked at which CPU blocks are available right now - I would prefer one with a red LED. There are many other areas where I want to modify things in but I can discuss them later. Sorry about the long post but I am pretty detail oriented .

I was wondering if anyone knows any good black and white Z97 motherboards. Yes, I know the MSI SLI Krait Edition board is good, but I was wondering if there might be something cheaper or better (more funcionality, better build quality, etc.). I need the socket to be LGA 1150, and I would like for the board to be a standard ATX size.

Hey guys! Was just wondering if you have any good ideas for making really nice-looking word documents. I'm doing a report on the role that virtualization plays in green & cloud computing in 2015, and want to really make my document look nice! I use Google Forms for my surveys and they look fantastic, but as far as I know, Google Docs doesn't have the whole theming thing, does it? I also probably need to submit it in .docx form or perhaps I could use .PDF. Any ideas or advice would be great, thanks. #firstposthere

Hey Guys / Gals, I'm currently looking to build my "Blacklight" PC and had thought I had everything ready and raring to go when a bombshell was dropped. I was going to use a MSI Z97s Krait Edition Motherboard along with a 4690k but I recently found out after some friendly help from other forum users that this motherboard is prone to becoming a large paperweight upon installation. With that being said I'm not trying to find a potential replacement around the same price bracket as the MSI Z97s Krait. If you look HERE you'll find my post about the build I'm looking to make. It's aiming to be a pretty black and white build and the Krait was going to be a great addition until I found out it often arrived DoA. (thanks Newegg reviewers!) So I'm asking you LTT Community, what would be a potential replacement for the 1150 socket MoBo? Anything Pure Black or Black and White (the later being more preferred) Cheers, Blackler
