I bought a Samsung odyssey g5 34 inch 165hz monitor the other day and being stupid didn't realize the HDMI port on the monitor was blocked from running 165Hz (up to 100HZ) and I could use the Display port but sadly my laptop only has HDMI output on it, and the GPU is only connected to the HDMI port (Razer blade 14 3080ti (2022)). So the only way i can get 165Hz out of it is if I use an Active HDMI to DP adaptor, but i can't seem to find any that can run 3440x1440 @ 165Hz. Any suggestions on what I should do or an Adaptor you found(that can ship to AUS)?

So I have an HP Z800 in storage, an absolute banger of a PC, and there's a slight common issue with it, relating to the power supply, basically all it's power allows is a beep, and a blink, then it goes off. I'm looking to replace it with a normal PSU, and I've done some minimal research in the area of PSUs and so far from what I can see, all I'll need to adapt a normal PSU to it would be a passive adapter such as this: HP Z800 ADAPTER. However, I'd just like to confirm if this is a good idea, and whether I am digging myself into a bigger hole of issues or not. I've seen a few tutorials (mainly on this forum) for adapting another HP model psu to fit into the case of the Z800, but I'd prefer not to do those as I don't have much experience or knowledge of such complicated a subject Thanks in advance and sorry for the simple yet annoying question! Attached I've put the pinout of the official HP PSU, given it's unusual nature. (Credit to @Bun_E_D's post for the reference diagram)

WIFI adaptor is a TP Link Archer TX3000E AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Bluetooth 5.0 PCIe Adapter, which has been great for me so far have been really happy with it and no issues. This all started when a couple weeks ago I downloaded the Master Chief collection on Steam, around 50GBs or so. Ever since my internet will drop out to my PC only, no other devices seem to be affected. The WIFI remains connected but with no internet connection. It will be fine for a short while, then randomly drop out again, sometimes taking a long while to get back on. Have tried all the normal things, turn the router, my pc, everything off and on again. I have made sure my network card's drivers are the latest available. I have also tried flushing the DNS via command prompt and releasing and renewing the IPv4 address. I've got no third party anti-virus software that could interfere either. Windows diagnostics was surprisingly helpful and could often temporarily solve the problem, but was saying the 'default gateway was not available'. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

would an adapter going from USB-C to HDMI send more power to a projector or tv than going from HDMI to HDMI? Another question right now to work a projector we are going from HDMI on the computer to VGA connected to the projector. Every so often the connection is lost due to the VGA cable being a little too long, I've lowered the resolution and refresh rate which has helped but is there a was to improve the signal without having to install repeaters or would that be my best option?

Hello. I'm looking for a cheap pcie to nvme, preferably it support 2 nvme 3.0. I search for some times but I only find those that support one nvme and a sata m.2 or those that cost thousands of dollar.

Hey guys, so I have a uad apollo twin which has a thunderbolt 2 connection. I’m about to by my very first custom pc and I am concerned about comparability issues between my audio interface and the pc, which I will be using for recording and creating music I was planning on buying a asus x570f mother board but I found out it doesn’t have internal thunderbolt connections i quickly found out about the asus B550E motherboard which does have an internal thunderbolt connection. As the connection on the mother board io has usb c and not Thunderbolt I wouldn’t be able to use it unless I use this adapter I found from Apple, here is the link: Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M72VEQR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_QNAH9882AAXXKEM3PMEJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I just want to confirm this would in fact work as I intent it to, I would plug it into the audio usb c port on the io if not, I have looked at getting a pcie thunderbird expansion card, here is the link: GIGABYTE GC-TITAN RIDGE 2.0 (Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3 PCIe Card Component) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BC11XW8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_V6A9TMZBCTN12C1P0614?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I just want to make sure either of these options would this work for audio as intended before I purchase ?!?! any help would be brilliant thank you !!

Hello all, I am having a bit of trouble with my displays. I have two Scepter M25s and an RTX 3060Ti, but my GPU only has 1 HDMI output. In the past I have run both displays off of DP, but with DP my monitors decided to randomly go black before popping back to life. They repeatedly would do this until I unplugged the DP cable from the monitor and plugged it back in. Everything at that point would usually work fine for a day or two or until I restarted my machine. This frustrated the crap out of me so I switched one monitor to HDMI and have the other is connected to HDMI via a DP to HDMI adaptor: no issues with blacking out. This brings me to my problem. My monitor that is connected via the converter is limited to 60Hz when I know the cable and monitor both support 1080p at 144Hz on HDMI. What can I do to run my second display at a full 144Hz? I think I need a better adaptor, but many do not say what refresh rates they support on the box or in marketing materials, and its not as simple as looking for the spec of the cable. Can someone pleas provide me some recommendations on adaptors or teach me how to identify the product I need? Thanks in advance, Tim

I have just bought a GTX1660 Super from ebuyer and then realised I needed an 8 Pin PCI-E Adaptor. I took the back panel off my gaming PC and saw an 8 PIN PCIE cable but it was being used by my motherboard. I had then decided to go on amazon and buy a SATA (15 Pin) to 8 Pin GPU Adaptor. It fits in alright to the SATA but I was wondering if it would be ok to use because my GPU hasn't arrived yet and I don't want to damage it. I have also found a better cable that has 2 SATA inputs to 8 Pin GPU but I would have to sacrifice the LED on my case and one of my fans. Does anyone know what I should do? Specs: i7-2700K GT710 (Upgrading to 1660 Super) 16GB DDR3 RAM Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) 7 LED Fans CiT Seven Case Builder 500W PSU 12 yr old lenovo motherboard from old pc 1TB HDD

Hi, so I’m probably going to buy a power line adaptor as I can’t run Ethernet and the wifi is bad. I just want to know: A. Will they work if they are on different electrical circuits but connected to the same breaker? B. Is there a way to work out how much of the signal will be lost over a distance?

I have an 1Gbps network, my mac have 900Mbps with ethernet connection. I have another laptop but with the adaptor is stucked around 300-350, while on wifi is going better 400Mbps. I tried the adaptor on the Mac and is going 300-350 as expected so it should be adapter. I'm looking for an adaptor that someone tried and can say that can go around 900Mbps, an USB 3.0 or even a USB-C would be better. I'm buying from Amazon Italy My source for the test is from Ookla's speedtest, I plugged the adaptor in a USB 3.0 (I'm 100% sure)

Hi. I have a Dell XPS 8500 (which fits 3.5" drives afaik). I wanna buy an ssd. It's 2.5". I don't think they come with a 2.5"-to-3.5" adaptor, and these adaptors aren't sold at the store right now. Now I might be able to just screw in 2 or 4 screws into the ssd. Not sure, tho. If I can't screw it in nicely, can I just leave the Ssd sitting inside the pc, not mounted securely? There's a little empty tray that's probably for another Hdd. Pros and cons? Let me know, thanks.

I am a novice, I'll probly say silly stuff... I see PSUs that say they have the c12VHPWR connector which I assume is the thing that the new gpus plug into without an adaptor? Such as MSI MEG Ai1000P PCIe 5 ATX v3.0. Does this mean that I wont be able to plug the older gpus? I have the 3070ti evga ftw3, will I not be able to plug it in if I get that MSI psu? I am getting a new system and thought maybe I'll wait for the new atx 3 PSUs to come out and get one of those to future proof my pc, but I currently have the 3070ti and will probly get another gpu in 1-2 years, so the next gpu will probably have the new c12VHPWR requirement, and I'd like to avoid adaptors What do you suggest.

I'm trying to build a NAS from my old computer (B360 with i5 8500). But it's an itx board and has only 2 SATA port and 2 M.2 port. On the recommendation page of FreeNAS, they recommend to use HBA Card to adapt PCIE to SATA port. But it's way more expensive than those M.2 to SATA adaptor and takes a PCIE slot (which I would like to preserve for 10Gig network card) So is that OK for me to just use the cheap M.2 to SATA adapt card? Or is the HBA Card necessary? Further more. If the HBA Card is necessary. Can I use a M.2 to PCIE adaptor to connect it?

Hello master builders, I just wonder if it is a normal thingy or not but my wifi adaptor (D-Link DWA-127/B1 N 150 High-Gain USB Adaptor) is slow to connect to my router after restart, sleep, or shutdown. It takes several seconds to a minute to be able to connect back even though I've already connect it automatically. Is it because driver error while installation (yes, it is not plug & play, I do not know why tho) or parts defect? I've tried to look into several forums but since I cannot pinpoint what's wrong (or even whether it is normal or not) I cannot find the answer. IDK if it is help but this is my pc spec: ASRock A320M-HDV R4.0 AMD Ryzen 5 2400g Team TForce 8GB DDR4 Crucial SSD BX500 240GB

Hi all, I currently use ethernet on my pc but am about to be moving it a room without access to any ethernet so i'm going to get a wireless adaptor. I believe that the adaptor will fit but i just want to make sure. My motherboard is the ASUS B250m-a (and i'm currently using the top pci-e slot for my gpu) and the wireless adaptor is the TP-LINK T4E AC1200 Wireless Dual Band PCIe Adapter (bit.ly/2POa5AH). My main concern is that it won't fit in the bottom slot but...just want to make sure. Thanks,

Hi, few years ago I bought the headset Tritton 720+, which have a decoder box. The way to connect the headset to the decoder box is vía a DisplayPort (is kind of rare I know) . So the problem is that the headset broke and I want still using the decoder box with any pair of 3.5 mm headphones. I need a adaptor I suppose, but I can't figure this out. Kind of Male DisplayPort to female 3.5 mm Jack.

Network Adaptor Slowed down significantly when used on desktop
Nyanpasu posted a topic in Networking
As the title states, Im using a Cisco AM10 adaptor on my newly built desktop, however, the connection speed is extremely slow (less than 1 mbps down and ~7 mbps up). I tried using a different adaptor with simillar results, but when i used my first adaptor with my laptop, the down and up speeds jumped to ~8-10mbps each. As such, i was wondering why this issue is happening, and what i could do to resolve it. desktop specs: CPU: pentium G4560 mobo: gigabyte b250m-d3sh SSD: adata SP920 256g gpu: zotac GTX 1050 ti ram: Corsair vengance LPX DDR4 2400 MHz adaptor: Cisco valet AM10 connector -
I bought that HDMI to VGA adapter (since I had no other way to connect my old monitor) and the screen has been much much darker than usual;connecting with VGA. Is that how the converter suppose to work since it is changing digital to analog or I have a defective converter? system and monitor settings were untouched.

Hi all! So there's here an adaptor that I have been asking on how it works, and most importantly, if it work without performance decrease or somethin'. So this is what am talking about:https://www.amazon.com/JET-5478MK2-204pin-SODIMM-adapter-Metal/dp/B005F0E26S Reviews say that it works and was tested on X motherboard. 1. How is it possible? Having less pins make it possible? 2. Does it downclock or something? Like 1600Mhz ram downclocks to 1333Mhz? Am thinking on using it on a MSI H81M-E34 with a whoping non overclockable, G3258. Thanks in advance.

Where can I find a 130w dell charger in BC?
Courtney posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Hello, I just arrived in Vancouver and I forgot my laptop charger. I need a Dell XPS 15 9550 Adapter Charger Cord 130W. I've tried some local chain stores like best buy, but they only have 90W. I've looked on Craigslist and eBay but I'm staying at a airbnb and I wasn't given the mail key so I need something I can pickup. Is there anywhere else locally I can look? Thank you, Courtney -
Hi, This is my first time posting on the LTT forum. I have a pretty bad desctop pc (Pentium G4400, EVGA GTX 750ti FTW, 8GB DDR4) but anyway, I wanted to upgrade my laptop because... well... I can't just put my desktop in a suitcase and travel halfway across the world, so as a temporary fix I decided to go with one of those plug-in-the-ram-slot things that you plug in the RAM slot, but that leaves me with 4GB of RAM which is not enough. I have Desktop RAM that I would like to use. Has anyone come across an adaptor of standard to laptop Ram. Thanks and BTW I don't really want a new laptop.

Hello forum, this is my first post over here and my first time upgrading my pc. I'm having a little problem with the compatibility of my components My sistem consists of a psu sfx-500 500W from sfx technology a motherboard a55fm2-dgs from asrock an apu A10 5800k from amd a gpu RadeonHd 6450 from xfx 2 sticks of kingston 4 gb ddr3 ram and a 1Tb hard drive from western digital a couple of weeks ago i decided it was time to upgrade and decided to start from the gpu wich seemed to be the thing dragging my sistem down the most, so i bought a spphire nitro+ radeon rx 480 8gb gddr5. for this i needed to upgrade my psu to something with an 8 pin pcie connector and 500W as minimun acording to the results given from cooler master's psu calculator. after a long search i finally found a psu thaty would fit my tower(150 width , 200 depth, 85 heigth) max, i belive that is an standar atx , but im not really sure. it is a sentey sty60-ps (that is what the psu says, but i've only found it as bxp600) however, i've been recently told that this psu delivers about 70%of the sold power so i wasn't so sure if an adaptor from 6 pin to 8 pin would work well with my array. should i try to get another one with two pcie 6pin connectors or use this to power my rx480 and an adaptor?
