I've been looking into 4k gaming and was just wondering if now is the time to buy or if I should wait for prices to drop (If they are expected to). I'm guessing they are going to rise since consoles are pushing for 4k (Project Scorpio) and manufactures are going to raise prices to catch that cash flow... I don't know

Hi, I am new here. Hopefully I am in the right section. Okay, so I have an MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3k and honestly, I dislike the 3k screen. So I am looking to replace this screen with a 1920x1080 screen like on laptopscreens "dont remember if I cant post links" So mainly I am asking if I could downgrade my display without having any technical difficulties, or wasting my money. From other knowledge I know it does depend on the display you get, to make sure it will get enough power. Will it be getting to much power, and destroy the display? Many thanks in advance, and sorry for my terrible spelling...

Hello, i\m looking for a better monitor but not 4K. I heard there is something 21:9 but is the quality actually better, or is it just wider. Also for a 3K monitor would an HDMI cord be sufficient or would i need complex things. I'm looking for a monitor better then HD 1080p, thats between 0-350-ish $. Thanks guys, I don't know much about monitors, thanks in advance !

Hello!, I'm back for this question. What graphics card/s would I need for gaming at high-ultra on 3k? (3 1080p moniters). Thanks, and have a good day!

I'm looking at upgrading my PC and I want to know if your CPU can cause bottle-necks depending on the resolution. I'd assume so but I just want to check. If I were to run at 3K meaning 1080px3 in eyefinity could my CPU cause a potential bottle-neck vs. my current 1080p display? I'm currently running an A10-6800k and when I upgrade I intend to move to a kaveri based A10-7850k and I'd rather not pull out my motherboard for a 990FX chipset but if I have to I will. The upgrade will consist of replacing my 6800k with a 7850k and my current 7870 with dual R9 290Xs EDIT: I should have mentioned I'm currently running a board with an A88X chipset so the upgrade will not force me to change my motherboard if I go to a 7850K

Hey folks... before I get going, one thing; I know desktops provide much better value for money but I really would like the portability and small form factor of a laptop! Just had to get that out the way first I'm thinking of this laptop: Gigabyte P35X v3. It has the brand new shiny GTX 980M 8GB inside. It comes in 2 different models: One with a 3K screen, an i7-4860HQ, 16GB RAM, 2x128GB SSD storage for £1800. And another with a 1080p screen, an i7-4710HQ, 8GB RAM, 1x128GB SSD storage for £1600. Which version do you think is best? I mean, the GTX 980M might struggle to run games at the native 3K resolution BUT the 3K edition seems like much better value for money - all the extra internal specs for a mere £200 extra. What do you think? Does this seem like a good choice to you? My only concern is how well the thin chassis will be able to cool the GTX 980M and whether there will be any thermal throttling. Cheers!

Just bought a Kingston 3k 120 gb, a greate aquisition, BUT there is one simple problem: I like very much 1080p Youtubing... so...every day I "download" 15-30 gb on the ssd. I did all the folowing: moved library to sec HDD. moved winrar temp folder to HDD. moved windows temp folder to HDD, but I switched it back as it slowed down my pc. deleted hyperfile and moved pagefile to HDD. moved download location to HDD (windows default download folder+IDM folder with it's temp folder aswell) Does anybody knows how to move chrome's video chance location? Moveing chrome's normal cache slows down browsing AND does not help with flash video writing to my "preciouse" 3k. I use ssd life free to monitor my ssd activity...and I would really like to use my 3k for more than 3 years....

Sandforce-based drives are perfect for use with this camera because of their strong write speeds and great performance with highly compressible data.

Hello forum, I am currently a high school student aiming to start a company; this (in my scenario) means I need to pitch ideas to larger institutions in order to acquire investments and partnerships. Unfortunately, I am in the dilemma of searching for a laptop that adequately suit my needs. I know many people here are highly intelligent and knowledgeable, and I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give. The most important aspects would be: Design (Portable, not necessarily light) Screen Resolution (For productivity and programs) Output options (USBs and HDMI for projectors) Battery Life Power (Enough to run light photoshop use and some 3D rendering in Cinema 4D) I am not so interested in: Gaming Storage capacity Price (allocated about 2500) I've looked at the MSI GS60 3K as well as the Razer Blade (2014), but those have extra power that shortens battery life, and I'm not sure where to look next for great design and enough power.

Hey guys, It's finally summer and I get to build a pc for the following years. The budget must be under 2500€ on computeruniverse.com, as that's where I'll be getting the parts. Here is the parts list: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($334.99 @ NCIX US) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($99.98 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($208.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory ($169.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($134.99 @ Best Buy) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB Superclocked ACX Video Card ($679.99 @ NCIX US) Case: Corsair 750D ATX Full Tower Case ($124.00 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair RM 1000W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($159.99 @ Amazon) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.98 @ OutletPC) Monitor: Dell U2412M 60Hz 24.0" Monitor ($265.00 @ Amazon) Monitor: Dell U2412M 60Hz 24.0" Monitor ($265.00 @ Amazon) Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014 Wired Gaming Keyboard ($132.10 @ NCIX US) Mouse: Razer DeathAdder 2013 Wired Optical Mouse ($49.99 @ Amazon) Total: $2714.99 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Reasoning: CPU: 4790k because it's cool, high performance and has hyperthreading which is useful for rendering. GPU: best single gpu card available for gaming, silent and cool PSU : 1000w because I want it to last forever and be quiet, also it isn't much more expensive than the lower wattage versions. Monitors: at first, I wanted to get a Dell 2713hm,which is 1440p and a 2412m(1080p) but I found out that the single 780ti can't handle the latest games on max(I'm a graphics maniac) with over 60fps. Also, I don't want to go sli, because upgrading will be much harder(as I have to sell 2 cards instead of 1) and more expensive. Keyboard: placeholder for k95 RGB. I'll also get something like a WD green 2tb hdd I'm waiting for your recommendations. P. S. Sorry if the formatting is all wrong, this was posted from my phone as my laptop is broken.

OK, so i'm a teen in Australia. Woo. AUSTRALIA HAS HORRIBLE PRICES FOR EVERYTHING, DO YOU KNOW THAT!? ESPECIALLY PC PARTS! And that is why I've come to you, people of LTT! I need you to help me see if this build is alright for 3K AUD, because i'm currently saving for it now, and don't want to be buying the wrong things. AIM: To have a very good PC for gaming and possible video editing. MONITORS/PERIPHERALS: I already have that sorted out, just factor in it will be at 1080 x 1920. I don't need to be educated on how to build a computer and things like that, as i've done it before, i'm fairly sure I have a good build planned but I just need to make sure. NCIX: http://bit.ly/1uy3KtJ Amazon: http://geni.us/28eF The AORUS X3 Plus - this thing is an absolute monster in a tiny package. But does it run into the same thermal throttling issues we experienced on the BRIX Gaming?
