What's the thickness of the stock thermal pads on the front side of the PCB? Manual measurements with calipers gave me about 0.5mm for VRAM pads and about 1mm for all the VRM pads. Here, in the alphacool waterblock manual for my GPU, they say that for both VRAM and VRM 1mm pads should be used. So, which are correct? Gigabyte declined my direct request for the measurements and sent me straight to service center. Here are some pics for the reference:

My build: Ryzen 3900x CPU Rtx 2070 Super GPU Corsair rm1000x 1000W PSU 16x2 GB DDR4 3200mhz RAM 512 GB Nvme SSD 6 case fans and 1 cpu air cooler I am upgrading to Asus Rog Strix Rtx 3080 Ti for my animation and would like to use it with 2070 super as well, as you can use multiple GPUs in blender. Is the 1000W PSU enough for 3080Ti and 2070 Super both or should i upgrade PSU as well ? Thank You

Hey guys, My GPU has been sent to be repaired since it was still under warranty. it's a gigabyte 2070 super. After sitting for a few days at the shop then finally get sent to the local gigabyte distributor for more testing, they decided the gpu is beyond repair. they also don't have any other 2070 super in stock so they gave me 4 options: upgrade to 2080ti for 800$ downgrade to 2070 for free switch to rx6700 xt and pay 300$ (i dont even know what that is) wait 4-5 months to get a new 2070super now i get there's no stock, it happens i guess, but my options are pay 800$, downgrade, or have no gpu for 4-5 months. i feel like it's not my problem they are out of stock; they didn't have a support for their 3 year warranty products. i feel like upgrading to 2080ti is the only option because im an editor and need to work and I don't like the downgrade, but it’s not worth 800$, in fact I don’t think I should have to pay anything. They threw in 3 year warranty as a gamble and lost, they should be accepting their responsibility. Am i the asshole for implying my options aren’t good and that I should have to pay anything for the 2080ti? Thanks.

At the end of last year I purchased a EVGA 1070ti off eBay. I soon found out that the card was faulty and would cause the system to randomly black screen. I reached out the EVGA and luckily it was still under warranty and they ended up replacing it with a 2070 super. Unfortunately that card did not work in the prebuilt I originally put the 1070 in so I ended up building my first new pc. I then found out that the 2070 has really bad coil whine (see video). I reached out the EVGA again and they spent the past 5 months trying to pin point the problem for them to tell me that it is the GPU but they cant replace it because my warranty ran out while they were replacing my PSU 3 times and repeating the same troubleshooting steps over and over. Now I'm kind stuck and I was wondering if there is a way to solve the coil whine. Edit: They did say they would replace the card if it was still under warranty but they kinda ran out the time on that one. IMG_0324_1.mp4

Hi all, The other day I picked up a Msi ventus 2070s that was on Facebook marketplace. When I installed it and turned on my pc the second fan kicked on to 3660 rpm. Any ideas why this happened? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Mai afterburner, uninstalled all graphics drivers with a utility, and uninstalled and reinstalled the card to make sure it was not a connection issue. I can see the fan doing 3000+ rpm in Msi afterburner, but it won’t respond to the input from afterburner and slow down. thanks

Hello, I have been having problems lately when it comes to getting the most out of my CPU and GPU. I was running an i5 9400k with my RTX 2070 super. I thought the CPU was bottlenecking and was due for an upgrade anyway. I bought a new motherboard, an Asus ROG STRIX b450-f alongside a Ryzen 7 3700x. After hooking everything up I was still only getting 90 frames in Cold War. I know this is far below what I should be getting as I have seen people getting upwards of 170 with the same CPU and GPU. I have 2 sticks of RAM that are 16 gigs and run at 3000 MHz. And I have proper cooling so I know nothing is overheating and everything is running as it should be but it is not. I have the latest chipset, bios, and GPU drivers installed so I do not think it has to do with any of these updates. Please feel free to leave your suggestions down below as I am in need of finding the fix so I can maximize my performance. P.S. my Power supply is an Nzxt c650 Gold

I am looking to buy a used 2070 Super, but I'm a bit paranoid about it's condition. I feel like the manufacturer seal over the screw has been tampered with. Should I be concerned buying this card?

I'm looking to upgrade my case, right now I got a Zalman z3 plus, It was the only case that could fit my old R9 290x at the time. Right now I upgraded my gpu for a RTX 2070 super FTW3 which is quite chunky and I have to leave the side panel open. So which case do you recommend that has a glass panel and good airflow for that GPU ?

So i built my first gaming pc a week ago, after a lot of research i came up with a list of parts that seemed ideal for my main goal which is 1440 p gaming. i came up with: Cpu :Ryzen 5 3600 Gpu: 2070 super RAM: 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHZ CAS 15 SSD: Wd blue 500 GB HDD: Seagate 2tb PSU : EVGA 650W gold+ Cpu cooler: Noctua nh-u9s So far i tried running Battlefield V (65 fps average), Apex Legends (100+ fps avg). Bannerlords (90 fps avg) . The Witcher 3(85-90 fps avg). All tests were made with settings maxed out on ultra. I am deeply disappointed in the performance of my GPU, before buying it i saw various benchmarks that were showing for instance Battlefield V running at ATLEAST 90 fps average or The Witcher 3 at ATLEAST 110 fps average. What could be causing this huge drop in performance? I have been monitoring temps and i dont really think throttling could be the issue since after a long session my GPU on average sits at around 75 ° (167 F), which is not great but not awful considering its pretty warm where i live, the highest i have seen my GPU go is 78°(172F), exactly the same for the highest temp of my CPU, which in turn on average sits at around 70°(158 F) after a long session. Any ideas? I kinda feel scammed by the benchmarks not gonna lie

I just built a fresh new pc and decided to go for a juicy 2070 super paired with a 1440p monitor. However, i noticed that the fps i was getting in my games want quite matching up to the reviews/benchmarks i watched before buying the card (for instance, the Witcher 3 runs at 85-90 fps while the benchmarks with the same settings runs atleast 15 fps faster). so i decided to test my GPU and see what scores come up. Userbenchmark basically tells me that my GPU is performing well below the average (see picture below). TimeSpy gave me a graphic result of around 9730 while Heaven gave me a whopping 2034 score extreme settings in fullscreen. What do you think? Are these results considered normal for a 2070 super (dunno if it matter but all testes were made on my 1440p monitor) ? If not, any idea why and how i might fix it? Is it possible i simply got a shitty card from the factory? Any opinion is appreciated

So i'm looking at buying a 2070 super, but don't know who to buy it from. I like my strix card now, its an rx480 though. I'm just wondering, what your recommendations are with the aftermarket cards. I'm definitely leaning towards asus but im not too sure if there's any 1 that will be set apart from the other competitors.

Hi, Being inspired by Linus's Hackintosh and Windows on the same machine video, I'm intrigued to do the same and take my place in the rows of PC Gaming. Now, I already own an MBP 15" Late 2016, a PS4 Pro with PS VR and a 1gbit internet connection. So, after some second-hand research, I got my hands on a Dell Poweredge R720XD with 2x Xeon E5-2690 and 64GB DDR3 1600MHz and started for searching the GPU(s). Seeing that Nvidia outperforms AMD for gaming, and also my interest in building a Hackintosh (and get an iPad Pro to connect to the Hackintosh remotely if I need the horsepower), I thought of having two GPUs (thanks Apple for not supporting Nvidia). But budget-wise I cannot buy two GPUs at the same time, and gaming has the priority since I already have a Mac. In addition to this, I learned that Nvidia would likely release their new GPUs somewhere in September. Now, I don't want to wait until September but buying 2080ti at the moment doesn't seem logical as well. Since I can live with MacOS High Sierra if I go with a Hackintosh (don't need to at the moment though), I thought maybe 1080ti would be an option. So, here I am in between buying a second hand 1080ti for around €500 or a brand new PowerColor RX 5700 XT Red Devil for €470. 2070 Super would also be an option, but that's around €600-700, and I can't justify it since I will check the next-gen Nvidia GPUs. Given the situation, what would be your advice? Games that I play currently (on PS4 but most probably move to PC) - Witcher 3 - Red Dead Redemption II - Assassins' Creed Origins - Deus Ex - Horizon Zero Dawn

Hi, I don't know which graphics card to choose. I live in Czech Republic and the 1080ti is for 550USD and new 2070 SUPER is for 590USD. I'm going to play in 1080p. Which should I choose.

I have ran a new cat6 cable just to be sure it was not the wiring. Purchased new router and modem. Re installed windows 10. Updated the network adapter's manually 12.18.8.9 (7) 1219-v. did all the new ipconfig/commands in CMD . Went as far as running TronScript/reddit download nothing. I have also double/triple checked all of the settings in my router setting's. I am currently running Windows 10 Version 1909. For my CPU I am running i9-9900k with a ASUS Prime z390-A. I just can't seem to wrap my head around the issue tried many thing's checked setting's made sure they were turned off and looked deep into google for over 5 month's now. all works well then in the morning I will have internet for 3 minuets then dc and have it repeat's itself 10 times Same issue occurs with some times at night. I assumed this was an issue with my isp and am waiting for the fcc to finish there investigation since Cox runs a monopoly around my Area and I am paying 140 $ a month and not getting even close to 300 down and 30 up. Jitter on the nodes will get supper bad but my wireless internet does not go out which makes no sense to me at all.

Hey, it is time for an upgrade. this two configurations are basically the same price here in Brazil. What do you think is worth more the money for gaming + streaming? 3600x 2070 super vs 3800x 5700xt? I am more inclined to go with a better CPU, but nvenc for streaming seems appealing. I can't do 3800x with 2070s. I am already over the budget. Thank you

Terrible FPS with 2070 super. Do you think I have bottleneck ?
Nevo posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I really need some help with my new setup! Intel core i5 9600K - with OC to 4.9 Ghz 2070 Super ASUS - with OC enabled 16GB 2400 MHz memory 1TB HHD + 250GB SSD 2K 144hz ASUS display I jot a custom build computer and Have been getting really bad FPS, FPS drops, Stuttering and high CPU usage. I play games like GTA, COD MW, PUBG I am getting substantially lower FPS on these games competed to many many videos on YouTube with my CPU & GPU combination. I never reach a decent FPS for example PUBG - Very high - avg 80 FPS Call of duty MW - avg 70 fps Tried every thing! Reinstall drivers, reinstall Windows, trying different, even going 1080p and low, I monitored the usages of the CPU and it’s between 95-100% and the GPU is ~80%. nothing really gets me to good 144 FPS that I can enjoy with my display! Do you think the videos and reviews I’m seeing are wrong and actually the CPU bottlenecks the GPU ? -
So I'm looking to finally upgrade my GPU from an old GTX 1060 3gb to a new RTX 2070s 6gb, but I'm worried about my PSU now being strong enough. Is an Evga 500w white, and when I look up answers I'm getting very mixed responses on if its enough. what makes it worse is the amazon page doesn't say a required power amount so in kinda in the dark. so could someone please help me and if it's definitely not enough could you suggest a new PSU? Here is the PSU in question: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01E4YRP8W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And here is the GPU in question: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-GeForce-2070-Super-WINDFORCE/dp/B07X51LTKK/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&th=1 I have seen on other forums people wanting to know the other parts of the pc to give an answer so here it is as follows: Intel i7700k GTX 1060 3gb Evga 500w 100-W1-0500-K3 Kingston Fury Black 16GB (2x8GB) Seagate SSHD 7200RPM 3.5" 1TB Seagate Ironwolf 7200RPM 3.5" 8TB Thanks

rtx 2070 super AMD 5700 XT or NVIDIA 2070 Super (Gigabyte Aorus) ?
ac88 posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hey everyone, I want to upgrade my graphics card for my AMD Ryzen (gaming) build. right now i have a "ASUS Dual Radeon RX580 O8G" i bought a couple of months ago brand new, that makes a lot of noise, and has this coil whine (weird sound) everytime im playing a game. ( i only play triple AAA games ) Im thinking of buying the new GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 2070 Super but im also looking for a silent card? i already know it's slightly better than the new AMD Radeon 5700 XT and that its also a huge price difference (almost € 200,-) plus+ the AMD 5700 XT are all blowerstyle gpu's for now..... still waiting.... So now my question is, Should i go for the GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 2070 Super? and does it make less noise than an AMD 5700 XT? My Build: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 CPU Cooler: Corsair H115i RGB Platinum AIO WaterCooler MOBO: ASUS X470 Motherboard MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB - 3200Ghz / POWER SUPPLY: Corsair HX850 Monitor: ( current + yet to buy ) LG Ultrawide : 2560x1080 / 75 Hz ?GamingMonitor? : 2560x1440 / 144 Hz i hope somebody can help me with this, Thankyou in advance... -
Need to make sure that this waterblock will fit the graphics card. EK configure wont let me check, error with photos. Gpu water will be EK Vector RTX RE RGB - Nickel + Acetal. https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-vector-rtx-re-rgb-nickel-acetal and graphics card. EVGA RTX2070 Super Black 8GB GDDR6. https://www.ple.com.au/Products/636653/EVGA-RTX2070-Super-Black-8GB-GDDR6. And what about the backplate, is that universal for 2070 and 2080?

Hey guys, I'm an entry level music producer/video editor and my laptop is no longer able to keep up with my workflow. For that reason, I'm looking to build a new PC. I've been looking for the past couple of months for some parts that I would be interested in, and am wondering what you guys would think about this build. (Any concerns or drawbacks from what I chose) Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv Mini ITX TG CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X CPU Cooler: Swiftech Drive X3 h240 CPU Block: Im swapping the stock block to a Swiftech Apogee XL Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix x570-I (when it comes out) GPU: EVGA 2080TI or EVGA 2070 Super ( I don't know if I need a 2080ti) RAM: 32gb of Crucial Ballistix Elite 3200 MT/s STORAGE: 2x Samsung 970 Evo 500gb M.2 drives Power Supply: EVGA G2 650w Case fans: Corsair ML120 Pro RGB 3pk and 2 Noctua NF-P12 fans for the swiftech radiator. Here's a parts list from PC part picker (I know the RAM is ridiculously overpriced but ill find a nice deal somewhere else lol) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CfkxLJ My endgame would be to switch the Swiftech Drive x3 soft tubing to hard tubing for aesthetics. Only looking to water cool the CPU ATM. I would consider water cooling the GPU in the future. Do you guys thinks this build would suffice? Im a pretty savvy guy and think I could handle the swapping of the tubes, but is there anything I should know or worry about before making this pretty big investment lol? Thanks

I have a i3-9100f 16gb ddr4 3000mhz ram gygabite aorus ultra motherboard and i want to buy a rtx 2070 super. When i bought the motherboard i thought i had enough money for a i9 9900k but i was wrong and i ended up buying the i3. I know the i3 would bottleneck the 2070 super but i dont how bad is the bottleneck. I was looking at gpus today and i saw a very good deal on a rtx 2070 super and i was wondering if i should buy it and buy the cpu later. What should i do ??
