Hi all, I recently got the Cable matters DP to HDMI cables for my LG C3 triples setup. The Cable matters cable simply does not work at 120Hz, the screen goes black. Weirdly, it works with other 120Hz displays (tested it on a friend's CX). I verified that the TVs themselves are capable of 120Hz by connecting them directly to the single HDMI port on 7900XT. Deep colour is enabled. The cables are also at the latest firmware version. Anyone know what to do here?

Hello, I'm looking for a flat 31,5/32 inch (or even bigger if my wanted specs fit lol) monitor with 120hz which is available in Germany or anywhere close to Germany but honestly, just anywhere is already a start. The monitor being flat, not curved and having at least 120hz is very important because I want to game in my bed on my PS5. I see 4K ones but they get really pricy. If getting one from a different country or even overseas is as expensive as a 4K 120hz one, then I might have to bite the sour apple here... I saw the ASUS TUF Gaming VG32AQA1A but I don't think 320€ is a good price. Or maybe it is? It's the only one I saw so maybe it is a good price. Curved 2K panels with 144hz on 27 inches go for 180€ - 220€. So 320€ just for 170hz and 32 inches seem like a ripoff to me. Or maybe someone can share their experience with a curved screen in bed? Preferable having tried it with a partner. If I lay on my bed alone then it's probably fine but next to each other and being offset to the screen? I'm not sure. I've never been into curved screen either way. Thanks in advance!

Hello friends, I'm attempting two have both monitors in 4K@120hz HDR. I'm not sure if this is possible, and as the title suggests, I'm unable to run both monitors on 120hz for some reason. Could this be a software issue? I noticed something in specs for the display that I suspect is the reason (highlighted in blue)? I can see that I'm running 12-bit colors, but the specs seem to suggest it's only capable of 120hz at 10 bit? Currently, both screens are 4K res, HDR, 12-bit colors, display 1 is at 120hz while display 2 is 30hz. I noticed I can change display 2 to 120hz but the res will be 1080p. I also noticed that I can individually run either screen, using either cable or GPU port on 4K@120hz HDR but not both at the same time. NOTE - the displays are essentially OLED TVs. I've already done everything in their services menus to set them up as PC monitors so we don't have to investigate that. Looking forward to your feedback. Specs and setup details below. Connections/ports/cables: All HDMI cables are brand new, same type, connected in the correct ports and are capable of running 4k@120hz. Hi, I've being trying to determine what would be the best method of duplicating my PC display to my Office Monitor and Living Room TV. At the moment I've got all my outputs connected to my 980ti GPU via Hdmi 2.0 108p 120hz and Display port 120hz. Unfortunately I'm encountering graphical glitches when one display is off and black flashes and redetecting the off display. Would a Hdmi splitter better solution? Cheers.

Hey everyone! I've found myself in quite of a pickle about some TV stuff. Quick backstory: I'm considering getting a bigger tv (LG NanoCell 55NANO863NA, since this fits my budget), for the juicy 4k/120hz and I might get a PS5 later, but my main platform is pc (currently rocking a ZOTAC FE GTX 1070), and I've read some stuff about HDMI 2.1 and freesync. I know that the 1070 isn't 4k preferable, but for lighter games and newers ones with compromises should fare well (60fps). Could you guys (or gals) set me straight how to manage this? Thanks in advance!

I want to use asus's ELMB technology, anti-motionblur tech. This can only be used when @120hz And in theory i only need HDMI too achieve that. This is what happens when i try to select 120hz with HDMI, i select 120hz and press apply, when i select "Yes" to keep changes. it automatically changes to 60hz 1080p. This does not happen with displayport cable. But the problem with DP cable is that sometimes when i launch a game it changes the refreshrate too 144hz, and ELMB is not supported on 144hz.

i noticed when i went to overclock my 60hz 1080p monitor that i had an option to change it to 60hz interlaced i did a bit of googling and found a few random bits of information that suggested its possible to double the fps by interchanging every second line of pixels to imitate 120hz. is this false or would it improve competitive gaming experience on a budget? (terrible visuals aside)

Budget (including currency): $7000 AUD Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games, Video Editing, and hobby 2d, 3d cad. Other details : Well Hi all. So I have got myself a NCASE M1 (still to be delivered but shipping this week). I have checked PCI LANES, clearance and many other things however I would like other peoples feed back on how they may setup. Listed is the current Parts below. I would like to be able to under-volt things to try help keep things cool. I have added a couple of Noctua fans to help lower the DB from the standard AIO water cooling fans. I also wanted one of these AORUS FO48U 48" monitors before Linus got himself a free one! Also considering de-shrouding the GPU and putting Noctua fans on it. so if you know of a GPU (NVIDIA?) that fits the M1 de-shrouded please let me know! I can through various websites save around $300 of the below price however currently seeing if mwave.com.au will just match price.

If you look below you'll see my issue... if you wait it'll slowly fix yourself... another weird thing is this is only an issue when you use 144hz with 120hz there is no issue at all I am currently running at 120hz but I got a 144hz monitor because I wanted 144hz... any idea what causes this and how to fix it

Hi all! I'm currently moving and am looking to buy a new TV for my place. I was hoping Linus had another TV review out but no luck. Here's a list of features I'd appreciate: 4k display Good HDR with deep black and hopefully no burn in (OLED) high refresh rate fast response time at least 65" VESA mountable built in smart features not necessary HDMI 2.1 capable I'm going to be using it mostly with my XBOX series X, I want to get the max possible refresh rate out of it to get its best experience. I also am connecting DirecTV and would like for it to work well with a PC in the future. My budget is about $2k but am willing to bend a little for certain features if worth it. Thanks for the help!! :)

So my monitor is a Samsung 27inch curved 2560x1440 at 144hz. I know my monitor is working at 144hz as my pc is constantly running the frame rates. Using the HDMI 2.0 port, Using the new HDMI cable that comes with the ps5, And I've changed the ps5 settings to performance mode. But I still can't get 120hz???

Hello guys! As I just bought a new xbox(xbox series x), it can output 4k 120hz but my tv is only 1080 and 60 hz.... My first question is that can I use my 4k and 120hz settings on my tv? And is it safe for the tv?

I have spent months, buying, returning and testing monitors. I have read countless reviews and I realized that displays are always a compromise somewhere or another, I get that. I realized that I would never get a "perfect" monitor but I decided if I would get anything I'd like to buy a 32" 4k 120hz monitor. I mostly do console gaming, so anything past 120 at 4k is impossible and when I do pc game, my hardware is relatively dated, so unless its an esports game I can't get above 160 anyway. I was so ready to spend up to 800$ yet nowhere have I seen a monitor that complies with these very simple and realistic demands. Do companies think no-one uses 32" monitors for gaming? Am I just stupid for not finding one and they actually already exist? I know I went on a bit of a tangent, but I just want to know if any display with these specs actually exists or is going to exist sometime soon and if not, what is the industry's reasoning for not making one?

Hello, I have an RTX 2060 SUPER reference (whatever it's called nowadays) GPU (not thinking of upgrading any time soon), and I think it's time that I upgrade at least one of my monitors. Currently just have some 3 22" BENQ 1080p 60Hz VA(?) panel monitors - two GL2250, and one GW2260; got them second hand for really cheap. I am looking for a monitor that is as the title suggests: - preferably closer to £300, however willing to go higher; - doesn't have to be available right now - if you know of something better coming within the next month or two, I am willing to wait; don't need it before Christmas/New Year. (I don't monitor news - pun intended) - Preferably an ultra-wide (or wider), however not a necessity. However, still want the 1440p (minimum) in 'height' - so no 1080p by 5120p or whatever. - I do not play FPS games, and so am looking for a VA or IPS panel (don't mind which one of the two). I mainly use it for my studies - programming, video calls, maths, animations; and in my free time, like playing visually pleasing games, watching films/YouTube etc. Should also mention that I am not doing anything which needs to be colour accurate - no photo/video editing or the like. - If not ultra-wide: would like the monitor to be at a minimum 24", however preferably 27" or higher (but not really higher than 32"; do suggest things higher than this though if you know something really good, will have a look). Don't care how big it is if it is ultra-wide (do care if it's too small though...) - A nice ergonomic stand would be very helpful - I don't really plan on mounting the monitor any other way. - Don't care about the port selection or in-built speakers. As long as I can plug it into my PC, I don't care any further. I have a headset, and don't mind bending down to plug in any USB devices or the like (plus my keyboard already has USB pass-through anyway). Thanks a lot! PS. suggestions on desk mounts (as opposed to wall mounts) for monitors also welcome (for my other two monitors which I want to keep for productivity space); would probably end up putting them physically above my new monitor.

My 15m HDMi cable only has enough bandwidth for 4k@60hz. Is it possible to get 4k@120hz from an HDMi cable or what other method could make this possible? An extender? Is HDMi 2.1 required? Fiber optic? Some other cables with adapters? Not sure if any of this could work but I don't even know if it's possible

I'm looking for a monitor to use for a PS5, I'd like it to be 1440p, 120hz and I'd like HDR but that might push it over budget a little bit, any suggestions would be appreciated, I don't mind about size, 24-27in is fine for me

I just finished building a new rig. Specs below. CPU: 3900xt GPU: ROG Strix RTX 3090 OC MOBO:Asus Crosshair VIII Hero Wifi RAM:2x16 Gb Corsair Vengence LPX 3200 C16 PSU: Corsair AX850 Displays: 2x Asus PB278Q on DP and HDMI, and 1x Samsung Odyssey G9 on DP 1.4 OS: Windows 10 Pro (Idk what build, but I have auto updates enabled unless I'm installing drivers, more info below in my steps so far*) I'm having an issue where my computer freezes up after waking from sleep. The screens turn on as if they've detected a signal, and then they just go back to standby after flickering the input signal channel (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc) and then my system goes completely unresponsive. Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't work, Win+Ctrl+Shift+B doesnt work, nothing. Need to reset with reset button or cycle PSU/unplug & replug from wall. It seems to be an issue with the Samsung G9 and NVidia drivers, since I've seen a bunch of people on the Nvidia forums talk about similar black screen issues with the G9 and 3000 series GPUs, but theirs aren't' multi-monitor so they don't see the same behavior as I do across all 3 screens. Any ideas how to fix or mitigate? Right now I've just set it up so that my computer never goes to sleep, but that doesn't seem like a good idea for the longevity of my parts. A separate but possibly related issue is that every time I try to set my G9 to 240hz on the OSD (with the nipple on the bottom of the monitor) it goes black and tries to recover but it ends up blacking out the other 2 monitors as well, and then the system becomes unresponsive just like it was trying to wake itself up. This is what I've tried so far: - updated Motherboard Bios to latest non-beta version - updated ASUS VBios to latest version - updated to latest drivers/firmware from Nvidia and Samsung for the Graphics card and monitor respectively. - unintalled aforementioned nvidia driver with DDU in safe mode to install a hotfix driver 456.98 that sorta works but only with just the G9, once the other monitors get plugged in, all 3 go black and flicker like before. *when I uninstall or reinstall drivers I turn my home network into a metered connection (I'm on wifi) and turn off windows update's ability to download stuff over metered connections. to prevent it from trying to insert a windows driver while I'm reinstalling graphics drivers. - reinstalled newest nvidia driver - Added TDRLevel and TDRDelay entries in registry, no effect. - swapped DP Cables for Amazon DP 1.4 cables where applicable, issue remained, so I went back to the stock cable that came with G9. Asus Monitors on random HDMI-HDMI and DP-HDMI (because it flickers at 60hz due to weird DSC Issues) cables that worked from previous rig. So Asus monitors are both receiving into HDMI inputs, not sure if that matters. - Swapped GPU For a Zotac trinity 3090 - reinstalled windows - swapped ram for another Corsair LPX kit - reset Bios to optimized defaults from a minor OC I did. Issue persists through all of these attempts. So far, my guess is that it's something about the drivers or power delivery that isn't giving the GPU enough juice to kick in when the monitors all wake back up and it just freezes under the wright of the load it's trying to pull. Does anyone know what might be wrong? Do I have a bad panel? Still within return window for the G9 so I might try to swap it if that's the case. If it is an issue with the GPU driving 5120x1440 @ 240hz and 2 1440p 60hz, could I just get a mobo with graphics outputs and just hook up my ASUS monitors to those and keep the G9 on the 3090 dedicated GPU? Do Mobo Bios's still let you use both integrated and discrete graphics simultaneously?

Hey guys, I wonder where can I find the 48" Lg CX that Linus reviewed recently in Europe? Can't seem to find any, in all stores. Is the european model labeled as a different model maybe?

Hey guys, just got the new PS5 and i'm using the ASUS VG259Q which should be able to reach 120hz via HDMI (see user guide). I tried it in COD Cold War, disabled Ray Tracing and put the Playstation in the Performance Mode but it won't work. Is there something i can do? Saw someone who was using an EDID emulator to solve that issue. Would be great to not have to buy a new monitor.

Let us CRT users have a chance to show people that they can still hang with the cool kids! With their adjustable resolutions and refresh rates. You can choose how high or low you want the resolution along with what refresh rate can pair with that resolution. And lower resolutions actually scale properly. (Mine is set to 1080x1440 at 91hz right now).
