  1. I noticed this issue about 3 months back. Sometimes when I restart or shutdown my laptop, Most of my startup apps don't load up after booting, and when I check taskbar, they aren't even on the list either, the startup folder is empty as well. And in the apps, the option to startup with Windows is also unchecked or unticked. Not sure what exactly is the issue, a registry bug or a virus? Need Help. It's g etting pretty frustrating
  2. VID-20230715-WA0000.mp4 Me demonstrating the stuck fan received_2571218783025403.mp4 the video seller sent me during benchmarking. I have purchased a gtx 960 from Facebook market place. However I have noticed that one of it's fan doesn't move freely. I have yet to attach it to my system. The seller send me a video of it working. Should i be concerned. I was really happy since it was my first gpu.
  3. Hey there from the UK! I have recently upgraded my gaming pc and have gone from a intel i5-4460s paired with a rx460 and 16gb ram to a i5-5600k and a gtx 1080 ti and 16gb ram, I moved my old drive (1tb integral SSD) to the new pc as my nvme drive hadn't arrived yet. It's now arrived and installed. It's a Samsung m.2 nvme 512gb. I'm looking to have my OS (windows 10) on the m.2 and have my sata SSD as my game/file drive. As part of the migration when I first built the pc my windows key has been wiped off the drive and I now have the annoying watermark in the corner. Is there a way to move my OS to the nvme and keeping my files and games still or will I require a complete fresh install? I do have a windows 10 pro image on a usb that I made before the upgrade just incase it all went to sh#t Love the vids! Regards Jack Martin-Beales
  4. Hey there! I've been watching LTT since I started at my technical high school, where I eventually settled in on Hardware, Service & Support as my study, which was basically just tech support for people; Teachers and students would come in for free and I was usually the one tasked with fixing devices both hardware and software. As you can imagine I almost feel embarrassed reaching out for help but Windows has me at my whits end. So here is the situation. My computer is a bit of a Frankenstein's monster, made of fairly ancient parts. Due to personal problems it isn't financially viable to upgrade my PC to modern spec right now. (I priced out a $1500 build with all the storage I need as most of my drives are very old and/or damaged I will list my rig at the end) Windows has essentially presented me with an ultimatum as Windows update is non-functional because I tampered with it to force it to stop updating and I didn't think to make it reversible. Since I can't update to 22H2 and am stuck on 21H2 I cannot do the "upgrade" for lack of a better word to AtlasOS, so I need to decide; reinstall Windows 10 so that I can use AtlasOS or Install SteamOS via HoloISO unless Steam has allowed SteamOS 3.0 to be used on any hardware. I could really use guidance on this since I have only dabbled with using Linux as my main computer where I do a lot of work and gaming in the past and still feel uncomfortable moving if it means I can no longer use programs I nearly daily drive such as FL Studio, After Effects, Blender, Unreal Engine 5, etc. As well as my slew of games I rapidly interchange such as, Red Dead, Deep Rock, Star Citizen, Sea of Thieves, Tarkov (Which I don't mind too much on giving up on, haha), etc. I hope someone from LTT can help me out as well as this community! 5. Today, my PC has frozen twice which required hard reboots. temps were in the 50s when i got the freezes and I wasn't even gaming. Have any of you 5800x3d users had your PC freeze, and found out the cpu is the cause? I've never had this issue prior to getting this new cpu, which leads me here, thinking that it's the cause. Does PBO2 tuner undervolting sometimes cause freezing? I have -30 all cores, not sure if thats the cause. I've tried -20 all cores for a few days and did not remember getting a freeze, so maybe I need to back off the undervolt a tad bit? This freezing issue happens at least once a week for the past 3 months; however, today, it's happened twice, which brings me here because it's happening more often. windows/drivers all up to date. Mobo was flashed to support new cpu, so thats fine. No idea what to do. Any help is appreciated. 3070, 5800x3d, 750W psu, x470 msi mobo, 32gb dd4, windows 10.
  6. Hello good people. I have discovered this weird thing and I hope that you guys can help me understand. Namely, I have two profiles in Ryzen Master, one for gaming and another one with low clock speeds for low voltage and lower temperature and I am switching between them depending on what I'm doing. Profile 1: 2825MHz @0,975V Profile 2: 4475MHz @ 1.25V One time I forgot to switch profiles when I was gaming, at that specific moment and place I had 85FPS, but when I switched to gaming profile the FPS dropped to 75! Does anyone have any idea how HEAVILY UNDERCLOCKED CPU actually boosted my FPS by 10? Here's a YouTube video I've uploaded as a proof: System config: GPU: RTX 3080 CPU: R5 5600X MOBO: B450 RAM: 2x3200MHz CL16 OS installed on SATA SSD Games installed on NVMe SSD WinVer 21H1 Edit: I can confirm this happened right now in another game dropping from 93 to 80 ** Thank you in advance!
  7. Hi I want to get windows 10 for my computer and don't know if this is legit and I like to know if im spending my money on a scam or something true Here's the link https://msofficestore.us/product/windows-10-home/
  8. Hi guys, my pc keeps on scanning and repairing C: during boot up after a power outage earlier this morning. From the other pics and vids that I see, there's a progress but mine doesn't show any and just continues with the boot up anyway. I'm getting the Maintenance error below but I've tried that and it doesn't work: I've also followed this YT vid, took me 3+ hours to finish scanning and it said it didn't find any errors but the same thing happens: I tried doing the other things I google searched as well but still, it continues to prompt that it's scanning and repairing without showing any progress. Any idea how to fix this?
  9. For a decent while now my laptop has been more or less broken. it started probably 2 weeks ago when while playing a game the screen turned black and the laptop became unresponsive I thought no biggie just turn it off and on but when I turned the laptop back on I was promted with a overheating warning which was weird cause that never happened before. after continuing the startup it happens again a black screen and becoming unresponsive I gotta say the screen was on so it wasn't off just black. I was thinking that it might still need a second to cool down 1 hour later same result after a turn off and on battle I would eventually land on the windows fix thing where it says "windows didn't start correctly use these tools to maybe fix it or turn off ur computer" after trying every function there with no success I resort to wiping the PC since there wasn't anything to precious. after successfully wiping the reinstall of windows begins and the black screen returns and now it either freezes on the hp logo or just loads into a black screen. I give up and come back next day and after starting up the laptop error message "windows didn't install correctly restart computer" but every time you restart the same error. After looking on YouTube on how to bypass that error msg with success the screen turns blue and windows installs all fine I go through the startup and log into windows and all that download discord etc and then boom see image 1 and shortly after that screen black, becomes unresponsive and I can't go past the hp/windows logo. Somehow by waiting around 12 ish hours or a long time the laptop start up normal runs for like maybe an hour fine and then one after another screen glitches and then black again.of course I searched for a solution that didn't require to open the laptop on YouTube but came out emptyhanded. The things I noticed however I can stay in the windows help tools or any menu indefinitely as long I am able to access it before the startup sequence. If possible a solution that dosent require me to open the laptop would be a God send but any help is much appreciated 20230628_035604.heic
  10. Hey at some point Linus mentions a website to download a bunch app all at once think it was ninite.com still good to use?
  11. My SSD C:/ drive ramps up to 100% usage whenever I try to install something or try to run a game from a launcher. So far, I had this issue specifically with installing/launching Discord, installing anti-virus, launching games from Steam or Ubisoft Connect. I bought the SSD December 2021, so I'm not sure if it would fail that fast. Yesterday morning, I installed an update in Windows 10 and there was no issues throughout the day. Next day, when I was using the PC, everything was running fine until suddenly apps were lagging. I don't visit or download from any sketchy sites, only game on my PC. But just to be sure, I tried to install Malwarebytes and BitDefender. Both installations didn't do anything, just the C drive usage stayed 100% and nothing happened. I closed Discord and saw that Windows Defender was attempting a scan, so I let it finish and the usage dropped to normal. After that, launching Discord would cause the issue again, so I tied reinstalling Discord. But I can't install Discord now as trying to do that causes the usage to ramp up too. I checked the Task Manager sorted by highest disk usage and I found nothing unusual, only system processes. When stayng idle, it's normal but installing/launching certain aps causes the usage to ramp up. For example, I installed CrystalDiskInfo without any issues, but I can't seem to be able to install Discord, Malwarebytes or BitDefender. I have attached the screenshots of Task Manager and the CrystalDiskInfo. The Task Manager screenshot shows the condition when trying to launch a game from Ubisoft Connect. It's basically the same state when trying to launch/install Discord, or trying to install the anti-virus. 12. Hi all, Just here to ask about a problem with crashing, for the last 5-6 months I've been having ram issues, while not reaching 80% of the full load(so chrome playing youtube videos and maybe a game of league of legends) for ram the system can sometimes trigger a crash (just black screen or freeze and unable to move or have any command inputs), recently installed trackmania (steam game) pc was handling it fine but had a few memory alerts stating that i had insufficient memory, which just came and went, until today when I tried to launch the game and the game automatically kicks me to a hard restart, this is while the cpu load is around 25-30% max with memory at around 50%max, just wanting to find out what the problem is, any suggestions would be very welcome! 15. Hi all, So after years of pestering Openreach to install Fibre in my area, it was finally installed by a company called BeFibre. However as of today, all devices on my network are gettin access to the full 900mbps. On the other hand, my PC wont go past 60mbps download and 2mbps upload, which is abismal. Ive tried fioddling with network adapter properties, tried a new ethernet cable, i disabled something in cmd but after that didnt work, i re enabled it. The weird part is that when i connect via wifi im getting speeds upwards of 400mbps, but to be fair i am far away from my router so im not surprised im not getting the full bandwidth via wifi. I have a cable which runs directly from the back of my router, into my room, and into a switch, which is currently what is only giving me the 60mbps down and 2mbps up. Im just a bit lost and was wondering if anybody could help? Thank you to anybody who can help PC Spec :- Amd Ryzen 3700x 16gb 3400mhz Ram RTX 3070 MSI B550 Gaming Edge Wifi

  17. Recently I have been getting an awful amount of BSODs on my computer. They ONLY happen when I load specific games. Titles like Doom Eternal and Road 96 basically crash instantly, while titles like Titanfall 2 and CSGO never crashed once. Temps were also fine all the time. My graphics drivers are fully updated and so is my BIOS. I also set my XMP settings to default. I also uninstalled all of my display drivers and reinstalled them, but it didn't work. My final attempt was to uninstall Valorant to make sure that the anti-cheat wasn't causing a problem. NONE of these worked at the slightest. My guess now is that it could be a hardware issue, but I still haven't gotten any visual artifacts. I have a 6750xt, 32 gb of ram, a 650W PSU and a 5600. Most of these parts were bought in the last few months brand new. I would really love some input, because these types of issues on a brand new build quite literally convinced me that this will be the last gaming PC I ever buy. 18. Hello guys, Weird thing just happened. My windows was running fine, no issues at all. Them I jumped into BF1 and couldn't find any servers filled out which usually have. So I closed it, and went to restart PC and now it is stuck on this screen. Even hard reset such as removing PSU cable and pressing power on button for 5 sec and reboot it doesn't help. Windows mouse pointer keep flickering from loading icon to the pointer arrow. I mean WTF it was running before I just ask to reset it! Should I go for more extreme removing CMOS battery. It doesn't seem to be hardware issue tho. It was running before
  19. Hello everyone, I have had a really weird issue with NVIDIA GeForce drivers for a few years now and I cannot figure it out for the life of me. First and foremost, the issue. Every time I try to update my GPU drivers (via GeForce Experience, game ready drivers without GeForce experience, etc.,) it will get stuck at around 1/3 through the process, stops, and fails to install graphics drivers. I have tried every single iteration of installation including DDU in safe mode, not in safe mode, clean installation instead, express installation, disconnecting from my local network, yet nothing seems to work. This has been happening on the same Windows 10 legacy installation (don't ask, I haven't found the time to switch to UEFI lol) since about 2016 with a GTX 1070, 1070 Ti, RTX 3070, and an RTX 3070 Ti. But I have found one method that works every single time without failure. To give myself a little bit of credibility, I am a system technician at a local computer warehouse (specializing in Windows software and GPU testing/repair) and I am very good at solving issues like this at work. I am currently running an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3600MHz, an MSI MPG Gaming Carbon Pro WIFI, an EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming, and my BOOT drive is a Samsung 850 Evo 256GB. The only fix or way around this strange issue is to download the GPU drivers from the NVIDIA website WITHOUT GeForce experience, restarting my system in safe mode without networking, just plain safe mode, and installing them. This does NOT work when I am in safe mode with networking. I have absolutely no clue why this happens. The only thing that I could find online was the fact that RTX 3000 series technically isn't compatible with Windows legacy but that doesn't explain the fact that I was having the exact same issue with GTX 1000 series, which has no compatibility issues with a legacy Windows installation. Obviously the only thing that I haven't tried is to install drivers on a fresh installation of Windows but I am lazy and haven't found the time to transfer my important data to another drive. I am only asking if anyone can explain what is happening or if anyone has ever experienced something similar to my issue. This is one of the only driver issues that I haven't figured out for YEARS and it is driving me absolutely nuts!
  20. I've installed HEVC Video Extension from MS Store. But It's not working for some reason. I tried to reset, also reinstall it. So anyone have any idea why?. I recorded H.265 format videos on obs for better quality. But it's shows media offline on Resolve 18(free version). I search on YouTube about that, they says you've to install HEVC Video Extension for playing those h.265 videos. Windows Media Player also not playing h.265 either. So need some help for that. My spec: CPU- 5600x, GPU- gtx1660, Ram- 32gb, MB- B550 Aorus Pro v2

  22. Hello everyone, I've been facing a series of issues with my Windows 10 Professional PC over the past two years, and especially in the last two weeks. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in troubleshooting and resolving these problems. A - Issue Description: My PC experiences frequent bluescreens, stuttering, and difficulties with booting. Additionally, I encounter occasional BIOS resets to factory defaults. Recently, the PC became unbootable, showing errors related to "winlocal.efi" and failing to enter the recovery environment. B - Operating System: Windows 10 Professional 64-bit C - System Specifications: Motherboard: X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING (rev. 1.0) with BIOS version F63c Graphics Card: GTX 1060-6GB CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 Storage: Two Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GBs PSU: RAM: 4x 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 RAM modules (F4-3200C16D-16GVKBs) elaborated on further below D - BIOS Version: F63c E - Software Running During Crashes (if applicable): I'm not aware of any specific software that triggers the crashes. F - Error Messages and Screenshots: Windows Memory Diagnostic Extended: "Your computer has a memory problem. Memory problems can cause your computer to lose information or stop working. To identify and repair the problem, contact the computer manufacturer." Critical Process Died errors during bluescreens "Preparing Automatic Repair" followed by "An unexpected error has occurred" related to winlocal.efi during boot Additional Details: Initially, I had only two RAM sticks (one module) installed. However, after two years, I purchased two additional modules. All four modules are G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 RAM (F4-3200C16D-16GVKBs), although CPU-Z detects them as F4-3200C16-8GVKBs. When I installed all four RAM modules, my PC started experiencing constant bluescreens, performance issues, and stuttering. I discovered that the newer modules (with Samsung die) did not cooperate well with the original modules (with Hynix die). To resolve the compatibility issues, I enabled XMP and increased the voltage to 1.4V. This configuration worked flawlessly for two years without bluescreens. Occasionally, the BIOS reset itself to factory defaults, requiring me to update and reconfigure it. However, last week, after leaving the PC running and returning later, it wouldn't boot properly. It consistently bluescreened after the title screen or during/after a short period of operation. Disconnecting the power for five minutes improved the situation, but the PC continued to stutter and bluescreen after a few minutes of usage. Windows Memory Diagnostic (Extended) took two days to complete and yielded the generic message mentioned above. I tried various settings adjustments, including disabling XMP, lowering voltage, and lowering speed. At the time the only stable configuration I found was the default XMP settings (3600MHz with 1.35V), which still resulted in occasional but manageable bluescreens. Shortly after however, I discovered trying to access Windows Defender Firewall—advanced security and clicking on inbound rules consistently triggered bluescreens, often with Critical Process Died errors. Most recently, after accessing Windows Firewall in the same way, the PC now shows "Preparing Automatic Repair" briefly during the title scene, which quickly changes to "An unexpected error has occurred" related to winlocal.efi. After a minute, the PC shuts down. I am unable to do anything except open my BIOS. Rebooting, resetting the BIOS to factory defaults (without XMP enabled), and attempting to boot on 1 RAM stick (tried twice, one from each bundle) yielded no change. I can provide the output of "wmic memorychip list full" and a record of common bluescreen errors (although I was unable to record its associated program) if needed. I am truly stumped by these issues and would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions on how to resolve them. Thank you all in advance for your time and assistance.
  23. Hi there, I need some help here. I have build a new computer (partlist at the bottom), so far, so good. It runs very good, performance is ok. But after a while (30-120min) of using it, Windows start to behave strange. Here the symptoms: - Windows kind of freezes but I can still move the mouse, move windows around, close apps (but the closed apps icons stay in the taskbar). - Youtube videos stop playing. - I can open Taskmanager, but not do anything with it - I can't logoff or shutdown, allways have to use the power button to hard-shutdown What I tried: - run some benchmarks, to make sure it's not the hardware, at least not in an obvious way: Blender, Prime95, 3D Mark (Timespy), Shadow of the Tomb Raider - I run a memory test (the one from Windows) - I suspected WiFi problems and switched to ethernet - I suspected iSCSI, switched it off - I susepcted NZXT CAM, uninstalled it - I ran a Windows repair - I reinstalled Windows completely ...nothing really helped so far, currently testing with the updated driver versions: (lates I could find, except AMD): nivida: 451.67 Intel WiFi: 21.90.2.1 Intel Bluetooth: 21.90.0.4 Realtek NIC: 10.039.0212.2020 AMD Chipset: 2.04.28.626* * confusing thing with the AMD chipset driver: AMD's latest driver version for B550 is 2.04.28.626. MSI offers a driver for this board with the version 2.05.04.352. I am now trying the AMD version. First I had the MSI Version. I try to keep an eye on temperatures, but they look good (CPU below 50°C, GPU below 50°C). It doesn't happen during workload (I didn't start playing games yet, would be to frustrating with this issue), just regular working, browsing, Youtube. Additional notes: - no overclocking, only XMP Profile for RAM. Any other ideas? If nothing helps I will try to run Linux for a while to see if it is hardware or software related... I've noticed something weird lately, This isn't regular but i've noticed this for last couple of days When I turn my PC on, It's always on power saver mode, Even though I switch it back to "Balanced" Next time when I turn my pc on, It's again on power saver mode. Is there any automatic settings that's changing it back to power saver mode whenever I turn my pc on? I'm currently using windows 10 pro edition, And this is not a Laptop by the way.
