Can anyone direct me to somewhere that I can download ASUS USB 3.0 Boost for Windows 10? I can only find it for Windows 8.1, and I really don't feel like finding out if that version will break my computer. I have the model of the Z97-A without USB 3.1 ports. AI Suite told me to reinstall it from my driver DVD, but I can't find USB 3.0 Boost on it. I called ASUS and they just told me to go here: http://event.asus.com/mb/2010/The_Best_USB3_Experience/The_UASP_For_USB3.0.htm The download button just kicks me to an error page when I click on it.

The Sandisk Ultra USB 3.0 flash drive 256GB version is on sale for $54.99 and the 128GB version is on sale for 24.99 on Bestbuy's website. I ended up picking the 128gb for now since the 256 is a bit more than double. This is a pretty good deal. I paid $24.99 for the 64GB version during black friday. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sandisk-ultra-256gb-usb-3-0-type-a-flash-drive-black/9208267.p?id=1219701102402&skuId=9208267

Hey guys, didn't really know where to post this. So I recently got an NZXT H440 and an ASRock Fatal1ty Z97x Killer mobo. My question is that I was transferring some movies onto an external USB 3.0 HDD http://amzn.to/1OsQ3kD and I was getting transfer speeds of around 40-50 MBps when connected to the front USB 3.0 ports on the case and about 80 MBps when connected to the MOBO USB 3.0 ports in the back. Is this normal for USB 3.0 ports? I thought that USB 3.0 was supposed to transfer a lot quicker (up to 640 MBps)? Is there a reason my USB 3.0 ports are performing more like USB 2.0 ports? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello everyone! First post here. I am attempting to build my first rig for a friend of mine who tried to buy an Alienware X51. Here is what I got: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/gamesahoy/saved/#view=h6ctt6 The reason behind the case of choice is because of my recent visit to LMG. How did I aquire this piece of hardware? Some of you might have a clue. So my question is this: Is it possible to add a USB 3.0 via PCIe, or any other method?
-
Hello, and thanks for reading this already! Is it possible to put software and games on an internal hard drive, and properly play them somewhere else using SATA too USB 3.0? Thanks in advance! (Side question: What's a good SATA too USB 3.0 Adapter?)

Will PCI-Express hardware fit in PCI slot?
User1868 posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
So I want to have USB 3.0 in my computer but the problem is that all my PCI-Express slots are covered by my graphics card and all I have left is a PCI slot. My questions is: Will this ( http://www.komputronik.pl/product/212895/Sprzet_komputerowy_/Podzespoly/i_tec_PCIe_Card_USB_3_0_SuperSpeed_2x_External_1x_Internal_20pin.html) fit into my motherboard's ( http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-Slimline-s5300-Desktop-PC-series/4079861/document/c01949171/ ) PCI slot? -
I am wondering if there are any available motherboards that have USB 3.0 and a sock LGA775? Does 775 not even support 3.0 or am I missing something

Hi Linus forums! First off, because I know if I didn't you'd lynch me, here are my PC specs so you don't have to look at my profile. Some specs are vague and I will edit them when I know the finer details. CPUi5 2400 3.1GHz MotherboardIntel H61 Chipset Motherboard RAM10GB DDR3 1333Mhz GPUGTX 660ti Windforce OC CaseCarbide Series® SPEC-01 Storage1TB SATA PSU600W Display(s)Samsung SyncMaster 2333HD 1080P 60Hz CoolingFan x2 (One at the top of the case, one on the CPU) KeyboardCorsair K65 MouseLogitech G600 SoundApple Heaphones Operating SystemWindows 7 My problem is as follows: I have upgraded to a Corsair Carbide Spec-01 case which has a built in fan which lights up and one standard USB port as well as one USB 3.0 port. The fan does not light up nor run when the PC is turned on. The USB 3.0 does not work either when I plug a device such as a pen-drive or iPhone into it. In addition to this I need advice. I think my motherboard is too limited to have more than one fan. I wish to install two more fans to have a total of 5 fans. One fan will go next to my main fan and push air into the computer. The other fan will go perpendicular to the two main fans to push air outside of the PC case. How can I achieve this with my current motherboard? If I need to get a new motherboard what should I look for so that I can achieve this? I have provided pictures below of my computers intestines so you can tell me what I haven't plugged in, or what I've plugged in incorrectly. I hope these photos are clear enough. If you need further photos of my PC I am willing to provide extras as best as I can. I tried linking the images so you wouldn't need to view them by clicking links but the formatting f*ucked messed up and I can't be bother to try fix it. Here is an imgur album of all the pictures below anyway: http://imgur.com/a/Jwitd

Hi guys, i have the asus m5a97 le r2.0 motherboard and the built in usb 3.0 ports are not working. All of the usb 2.0 ports work perfectly its just these 2, can anyone help with this issue? Thanks!

So I've been looking to buy a USB 3.0 PCI-E Card for an aging system which does not natively support USB 3.0 (Core 2 Duo). However, all of the cards I see uses some sort of external plug/cable for power, for example, either STAT power or Molex power. This got me thinking, why do these card need the extra power when they are just powering up 2 or 3 USB devices? How is the PCI-E power not enough when PCI-E power alone can handle my 60W graphics card?

I have 2 front panel usb 3.0 but i have no usb 3.0 connectors on mobo My graphics card covers 1 of my pci-e x1 slot and the other pci-e x1 has my wifi card in it I have 1 pci-e x16 at x4 and 2 pci I can't seem to find any connector cards that are pci, so are there pci cards that have usb 3.0 connectors? Also i tried putting the wifi (x1) in the x16 but it does seem to go in and i don't want to force it

Hello. I've noticed that when copying large files onto my usb 3.0 usb, my speeds are in the 500 megabits per seconds down to 200 mb/s. How would I increase the speed of my USB device?

Hey all, got a question for you. Generic 8 Port Ethernet Switch Vs Branded 8 Port Ethernet Switch Is there really a difference in performance (mostly for gaming on a LAN) between them as they do the same thing as I have bought some generic stuff (usb 3.0 hdd enclosures and stuff) and it works perfectly. Thanks in advance.

The front panel USB 3.0 ports on my CM Storm Enforcer do not seem to be functioning correctly. I have both the USB 3.0 controllers for Intel and Asmedia on my new Maximus VII Formula. I just uninstalled and updated both of them, but the two front ports will still not recognise anything. I know they are working because when my Seagate Backup Plus was plugged in, the LED indicator lit up and the drive platter was actually moving (I could feel the vibrations). The Backup Plus could not be formatted or even seen in device manager. It worked fine before this. The USB 3.0 Header is securely in place on the appropriate connector, and the Header itself seems to be working, because it was successfully powering my external HDD. I have no idea why this is happening.

So, USB 3.1 is coming out but does that mean i'll have to buy new devices that are 3.1 or is 3.1 simply some kind of software/driver update to 3.0?

Hi. I am in the middle of making my first ever build. I am currently trying to put in the USB 3.0 headers connecting the front to the back. However, I don't think I have anywhere to plug in the USB 3.0 header, it is WAY too large and doesn't even look like a USB, but it connects to the USB 3.0 at the front. I have a Corsair 300R (windowed), and an MSI 970A-G46. Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong. Sorry if this seems really stupid, this is my first ever build. PS: I would post pictures but I am unsure how to, so any helping shedding light on how to would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks.

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum I'm currently building a new PC & I'm using the Bitfenix Shinobi Xl Window case,so I'm looking for the lowest priced Z97 atx motherboard with 2 USB 3.0 headers since my case has 4 USB 3.0 slots on the front & I don't want them going to waste. Also will need Sli as well & I live in the UK because stuff is more expensive here than the US. Thanks in advance ☺

whenever i tried to plug in my external hard drive to the front panel usb 3.0 of my Corsair 200R the other day I got a little pop-up in windows saying 'USB Device Not Recognised'. i unplugged it, tried it again and even tried something completely different (my webcam) and nothing worked; same result. i have googled for hours on end and have tried installing drivers, mucking about in device manager, unplugging the pc from the wall and leaving it for 10 minutes. nothing working. i thought it was because i had re-cable-managed my cables earlier and i had removed the usb 3.0 header from the motherboard and re-routed it. the head unplugged strangely, and i had to use a large amount of force to get it off. i opened up my pc and unplugged the header again and checked for bent pins. there seemed to be none. i noticed the port on the motherboard (the plastic bit) seemed a little wonky, so i forced it down, ensuring it was firmly on the mobo. then, i plugged the header back in again, further making sure that it was seated correctly and firmly. i went to install an extra HDD in my PC today and i checked the connector again. no bent pins and it seemed seated correctly. after that fiasco i re-booted up my pc and tried something different again; a usb card reader. the same thing happened again: 'USB Device Not Recognised'. the USB 3.0 on the back of pc (on the mobo) work perfectly fine, so im stumped. i was thinking it might've been faulty front panel connectors but i dont want to shell out money for new front panel connectors and go to the trouble of installing them in my case just to have it still not work. any help is greatly appreciated, thanks Mobo: MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate Case: Corsair 200R here are some pictures of device manager and also the pop-up window I get when I plug anything in.

Hi Everyone, I have been having a issue with my seagate backup plus drive slim edition 1TB. It has usb 3.0 and is constantly failing to mount in OS X (Mac mini 2014) And i also tried with another USB 3.0 Computer. I am using the usb 3.0 cable that came with it but when i plug in to my usb 2.0 hub it worked with no problems what so ever. It also worked fine when using a USB 2.0 cable. This means that i am not sure if it is the cable that is the problem or the usb interface on the drive drive. Does anybody know what it could be. I do not want to buy a £4.99 cable off amazon if it is the interface. If anyone can help me i would be very thankful. (P.S I have never dropped or given the device a hard time it has been on a flat surface (My desk) when in use.)

Hey, Im new to this forum but I have been reading for a while. In the past i built a 'gaming' rig of spare parts that i got for free... it was a hunk of crap. Now that I have started UNI I wanted a powerful lightweight laptop, that I can do all my UNI stuff on and play games on. So I got an awesome deal on a Razor Blade 2014 with the 256GB SSD. So now my question is, would i get passable performance form a USB 3.0 HDD dock with the 2 1TB WD black drive that I have. Id like to put my extended steam library on that. Also is there a dock that runs through 2 USB 3.0 ports. Thanks

Hey everyone, I am new to building a PC and I ran into a problem. My case has a standard set of two USB 3.0 Ports on the front that connect to the motherboard. I recently bought an internal card reader that also had a USB 3.0 port. Since my motherboard only has one USB 3.0 connector, I am stuck with an extra 20-pin cable not connected to anything inside the case and two nonfunctional USB 3.0 ports. Here is my question: I have been looking around at some PCI and PCI Express expansion cards with extra USB 3.0 ports and another internal 20-pin connector. Is that connector on those cards supposed to be for connecting more ports, or is it for connecting to the motherboard? I would assume it would be for more ports, but I recently bought a Bluetooth card that plugged into my USB 2.0 connectors on my motherboard as well, so I just wanted to confirm before I went ahead and bought anything. Also, any recommendations on any brands that I should get, or does it not matter? Thanks

Does anyone have a recommendation of a PCIe express card that supports 2 (or more) USB 3.0 ports to connect external devices and at the same time can connect a SSD containing the Operating System? The idea is to "move" my current Samsung Pro 840 to a PCIe card and to connect a Fujitsu scanner ix500 to the USB 3.0 on the same card.

I recently did some upgrades to my stock HP desktop. Since the standard case could not hold the gpu or psu i wanted to put inside it, I also did a case swap (Bitfenix Prodigy M) but the front usb 3 ports on the new case are not working. When I use a usb 3 to 2 converter and plug the ports into a usb 2 header on my motherboard, they work, so I'm quite sure that it's not an issue with the case. If I plug the usb 3 ports from my old hp case into the usb 3 header on my motherboard, they also function properly, so I don't believe that this is a motherboard issue either. I have tried reinstalling some of my usb drivers including the ones for usb 3 ports but this did not help fix the problem. I've tried running windows's own diagnostics but they only tell me that "new hardware changes may not have been detected." Well I tried to scan for new hardware changes in device manager but once again, the issue persists. This is very annoying as my motherboard only has 4 usb 2 ports which are too close together to fit any of my memory sticks. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
