soo.. i got watch dogs 2 by linking my uplay account to epic store for free. i have not downloaded it yet. it appears in my uplay library (with the game key). can i download it directly from uplay (30 gb including high res texture pack) or from epic store (40 gb). apparently downloading it from epic store leads to downloading 22gb of wd2 from uplay again(so a total of 52 gb if i download from epic store). so can i download the game from uplay? if i can... should i download the high res texture pack ( extra 6 gb on 22gb) i have a dual core i5 with hyperthreading and 920m 2gb. i know its bad coz its a old laptop, but still i want to play wd2 as i played wd on this a long time back(even at 30 fps at 1366x728). thanks!

Hello community, i've recently build my very first NAS using FreeNAS and so far everything seems to work as expected. Now though, I want to install my Steam library to it and, well, it dosen't work... I've already been through the main troubleshooting steps (reinstall the game, reboot both the NAS and the PC in various orders, reinstall Steam, check for file integrity and tinker with the firewall settings, which I stopped due to lack of knowledge tho) but it still gives me the same "access denied" error. According to the FreeNAS Web UI everything behaves as normal. Here are all the specs i guess you might need: The NAS is set-up with one pool consisitng of one raidz2 vdev on which i have successfully configured a SMB-share. Windows sees it as a network drive with letter Z: and its fully accessible, read- and writeable (steam installs games to it no problem only when trying to start them the above happens) The NAS and PC are connected via 1gbE with a seperat switch. I also have tried out different launchers (would appreciate your help with those too :D): Epic seems to have similar issues, it installs just fine but cant find the install afterwards. Rockstar crashes on the last bit of the install process (have only tried once tho - GTA V takes me 4 hrs to download). Uplay straight up refuses to download to the Z: drive after choosing it and agreeing to the terms of use. I'll provide further info as needed. I hope you can help me Thanks in advance

I recently checked my Amazon credits and saw I had enough money to buy R6, so I basically got R6 for free. I wasn't aware that the digital key Ubisoft sells is Uplay only, before that I thought Uplay is just a DRM which requires Steam for games to run and NOT A STANDALONE GAME DISTRIBUTION SERVICE. Silly me, now I can't even remove R6 from Uplay library and if I buy R6 via Steam Uplay is just going to make a duplicate version of the same game. Ubisoft customer support aren't helping either. I asked for them to transfer R6 to my burner account and I still got no reply. I wonder if transferring R6 will actually remove it from Uplay library. I like Steam "what's new feature" which Uplay doesn't have. Also does anyone have any experience regarding Uplay or the situation i'm in currently, and how many R6 players actually use Uplay version of this game?

Just a quick question: It seems to me that nowadays when i buy a game it is linked with steam or something similar, each with separate logins. Not to mention things like eve, blizzard launcher, elite dangerous launcher. Is there a piece of software that might act as a central interface. I'm thinking of something that when installed asks me to enter log in details for each client and then auto logs to all on launchers, creating a central interface. Not even counting origin, not sure if that still exists. All these launcher are beginning to drive me insane!

!!New Problem!! My games are running, I am browsing the internet pretty smoothly, streaming, facebooking all with out any problems or issues. I am using a dedicated IP as well. But none of these apps (Steam, Uplay, Epic Games, Battle Net) are connecting to the internet. I actually deleted all of my storage, formatted all storage drives, created new partitions and installed WIndows to get rid of this problem permanently. But OMG this problem is persistent and I have no idea why this is happening. When I was installing WIndows, I was doing that with a boot ready USB flash that had an older version of Windows 10. Everything was working fine (Steam, Uplay, Epic Games started working properly) until the Windows started updating itself. When it updated itself to the latest version, the problems re-appeared. I noticed that one of the virus protection definition was not installed and was getting obstructed with an error code. But I managed to fix that. But the game launcher softwares continue to persist with the connectivity problem. At this point, I am guessing that everything works fine on the older version of Windows 10. The problem occurs on the newer version. But this can't be the actual cause of the problem as thousands of people are using the softwares on latest version of WIndows 10 without any issues. I really need some advice on this. I also tried looking up the "Error code - 21" that is popping up in steam but barely anything comes up in Google or Youtube. I contacted Steam help center and they mentioned its a network issue. But I don't know WHAT is the issue with my network because everything else is working fine and the games are running online as well. Seeking for some advice.........!!!

Hi everyone, How do I get the game Steep to use my dedicated graphics card? It's only using my integrated gpu and I don't know how to make it use the dedicated one... I'm using an Acer Nitro 5 laptop with ryzen 5 2500u and RX560X.. I checked on other forums and some people also appear to have this problem, but I haven't been able to find a solution.. Any tips? I tried making the .exe file in steamapps/common/steep to run as administrator but that didn't help. Also tried running it from Radeon software, didn't help... I have the latest drivers installed and my laptop is plugged in the wall and battery is set to best performance.. Don't know what else to do..

So I noticed that my Uplay download speeds were consistently at 10mbps. They never go above or below that speed, never. This leads me to believe the my internet of 150mbps can support more download speed, but it simply won't. I've run a few test with downloading from different services and they all report the same exact download speeds. The only app that isn't affected is the Microsoft store. That being said, I'm lead to believe this has to do with permissions. I tried running as an admin, but it didn't work. Help pls! I just want to download siege quickly!

Hello and have a nice day everyone ! I have been wondering about 1 question these days for playing Far Cry 5 in Coop mode. The question is that is it possible to play in Coop mode when i purchase the game from Ubi-store, have the game installed on my own PC, then using the same Uplay account to log in, download and install the game on another PC (my brother computer as in my case). After that, use a different Uplay account that has not purchased the game yet to log in and play in Coop mode ? If not, are there any other ways ? I tend to do that for me and my brother to play at home. Thanks in advance !

Hey LTT! Okay, so here's the story. I have my UPlay account set up with 2FA using Google Authenticator on my old phone. (Galaxy J3 Prime) I accidentally sat on the phone, bending and completely breaking the screen, so you can't see anything on it and the touch is completely broken. This means that I can't access my Google Authenticator codes. I have a new phone, but UPlay is asking for the codes and I can't get at them, and I lost the backup "recovery" codes that they tell you not to lose. What do I do? Is there a way to extract them from the J3 Prime? The phone is still completely functional except for the screen. It still turns on. Thanks.

My uplay game library doesn't load properly. The game thumbnails don't load in and trying to download a game does nothing. The rest of Uplay seems to be working fine. I also noticed that my account wasn't loading in so I believe it could be something to do with being connected to the internet* *But the store and news tabs work fine Thanks!

Hello Everyone, Today I got a new hard drive - a Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM008 2TB, and after transferring everything from my old drive to my new one, it seems that I can't launch any games that are stored on the drive. I have uninstalled Steam and all my games and reinstalled Geometry Dash, CS:GO and Rocket League as tests. CS:GO is installed on my SSD and loads completely fine when I launch it, Geometry Dash also works completely fine, Rocket League though, launches and then 5 seconds later crashes, the same thing also happens to other large games like Battlefield 1 and Rainbow Six Siege. Only the games the are larger than Geometry Dash aren't working and crash after a few seconds, i've also verified integrity of game files and restarted my PC multiple times but it didn't do anything. I made sure that the installation paths are all correct but nothing will work. I appreciate any help from anybody. Thanks in advance. EDIT: THIS HAS BEEN SOLVED - When I was swapping the drive letters, I had to temporarily remove the page file. Just then I remembered that I forgot to recreate it, so when i was trying to launch anything, my system had no page file and everything that needed it would crash because there was insignificant system memory. i made a new page file on my new drive and everything is working perfectly.

UPDATE: They now included a build recommendation as part of a news article/post still related to this post but it isn't found in the same ribbon tab. Illustration below. So it seems like Ubisofts own game launcher now has a "How to build a PC" ribbon tab and it's been there since the 3rd of November 2018... Source: UPLAY itself I for one did not notice it, maybe because I rarely use UPLAY to launch my games. So yay! Ubisoft. The video itself wasn't made by Ubisoft (thank God), it was uploaded by a channel on Youtube called NGON. I think the aim of this was to educate dudes new to PC building or want to try it out (duh). Better yet I think it aims to educate people about buying pre-built and/or trash PCs that are total rip-offs - basically, so people can avoid this - I'm not sure if the "How to build a PC" in the ribbon deserves to be there though... I'm just saying no one would really come back to check it out. Maybe it should be within the 'Games' section like a green button there or something. Comments: Good - It was pretty nice. The dude tried to explain carefully each essential component in a PC and what you need to consider. Slightly meh - He didn't take into account one of the most important things like "set a budget first" - this is gonna bite your ass if you neglect it totally. Technically speaking price doesn't really come into "how to build" but the video itself explains how to pick parts sooo... Low-key stuff - If you watch the video closely, the guy chose a Ryzen CPU and some Sapphire Nitro GPU. Hmm... Too bad there isn't a ribbon tab on the launcher called "How to fix buggy/broken games" EDIT: I don't know why Ubisoft didn't link to their own forums though - https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1444233-Building-a-gaming-PC-–-Part-1-Getting-Started EDIT 2: You can watch the video here - UPDATE CONTINUED: Below are UBISOFT's and NGON's PC build recommendation split into categories - ENTRY, MID-RANGE, ULTRA, and ENTHUSIAST - Needless to say there is obviously a huge pricing difference between AMD and intel CPUs as both of intel's motherboard and processors are very expensive compared to AMD's own offerings. Other nitpicks - SSDs are still expensive and only offers performance boost to loading times. Generally, I'd say just put all essential programs in the SSD (500GB is more than enough) and other games in an HDD (2TB is pretty standard) to save up money and space. The 2280 form factor for M.2 drives listed here still depends on the motherboard, no point getting one if your motherboard doesn't even have the slot. Motherboard form factors (in this case mATX & ATX) are generally irrelevant to the performance and sometimes even pricing. Just say the chipset. RAM speed should be like 2800MHz and up or something. What if the guy found a cheaper 3866MHz+ kit. For "Enthusiast" I would still consider the GTX 1070 as a good base for 1440p... to some degree an RX 580 8GB would still do an adequate job. Mid-Range - there's nothing wrong with an RX 570 for 1080p gaming, so perhaps put RX 570 or GTX 1060 3/5/6GB instead? Also maybe put some pricing range, like you would get the "Entry" level system for say $400.

Dear Linus, I have an idea that you can show in your YouTube video. Personally I am a real fan of linux and I would really like it if you want to demonstrate this project. I came up with this idea when I saw your steam caching server and immediately thought why no part 2? This is the idea. You have access to a few gigabit network cards. What happens when you put these cards in bonding mode and the steam caching server runs on that server? will downloading go faster? Try to put two network cards in bonding mode on the Linux client. I recommend using bonding mode 0 (Round-Robin), which ensures that all traffic passes over 2 network cards. I'm curious if you put both the server and the client in bonding, the speed actually doubled Some URL's to the bonding guide Look at this post: Bonding on ubuntu to learn more about bonding on Ubuntu Linux Sorry about my bad English

Hi, Just wanting to know if there is any difference between buying Uplay required titles on steam or directly from Uplay. Also whats the difference in load times and security. Cheers.

Im having some problem with Uplay. It tells me that there is no connection but I have a stable internet connection. This problem started after I started downloading For Honor, the download went to about 5% with speeds of 10kbps . Then Uplay stopped connecting. Ive tried many fixes (except for a fix with told me to fiddle around in the host directory in System32). Has anyone else been having this problem? and how do I fix it?

So today my friend had noticed his name was changed, also all of his friends were blocked, then he checked his Emails and realized someone had requested to change his name etc. Points to state- He had 2 factor authentication He had his phone on him at the time he recieved the Email This has now been resolved and he has got access to his account and changed it back to how it was, it's just odd to me that people can bypass 2 step authentication.

Hi, Just wanting to know If there is a way to skip the " Allow this program to make changes to this PC " every time I launch a uplay game. Because every time when I launch the game through Moonlight Game stream I have to manually use the mouse on my desktop to remove the prompt. Any help on this would be great. Cheers.

Hey guys, Today my Dell XPS 15 (9560) arrived and I was eager to use it. But when I fired up steam on that glorious 4k display, it looked all blurry. Same goes for uPlay and just a lot of applications. I saw some comments on other sites after browsing around about changing my scaling to 100%, but since I use a 15" laptop I don't really want to go smaller than 200%, since it's genuinely hard to read and press the right buttons on anything less. Does anybody have any solutions? My specs: i7-7700HQ 16GB DDR4 2400MHz GTX 1050 Thanks in advance,

A bit of confusion over game platforms: - So recently I got watch dogs for free on uplay - Now I want to buy the DLC - I can get just the DLC on uplay for 20$, but can get the DLC and game on steam for 20$ - I would rather have the game on steam so since it is the same price I will buy it there - I recently realized that when you buy the game on steam, it opens the uplay launcher to open the game - Since I already have the game in my account, how would this work? Thanks

What is wrong with Uplay? I've heard many complaints about it yet I don't encounter any issues with it that make Steam any better of a platform. I have the same question for Origin. I've been a PC Gamer since mid 2015 if that says anything.

Hey guys My SSD storage C drive is getting filled up and I want to move applications from my SSD to my 1 TB HDD. What I want to move is a couple games (Titanfall 2 and Mass Effect 2) and I'd like to move Uplay, Origin, and Battle.net over to my Hard Drive from my SSD. If this is possible please reply thanks.

So I bought far cry 4 gold edition a little more than 2 years ago, but have never been able to play it past the prologue. I go through the support multiple times with the same result... them being completely useless and thinking my computer is 100% at fault. The problem I run into is that the game will allow me to play through the prologue but as the screen fades black to transition to the next level it just stay on the black screen, even when left for hours it doesnt change. Now Ubisoft support seems to think that my PC is at fault. When ive tried on over 5 different PCs, each meeting the requirements. When going through all my windows error files none are related to far cry 4 when they insist that a driver incident that I had 3 days ago is the problem with the game when I installed it today. They also like to blame that I run with Integrated and Dedicated GPU at the same time, (I-GPU are for secondary monitors while dedicated is for my main monitor and the one i game on). Any ideas?
