cooling Heatsink Sizes for GDDR5 Memory & VRAM on Titan X Maxwell
Timotheus865 posted a topic in Cooling
I recently picked up a NVIDIA Titan X (Maxwell) for $50 on eBay, which did not come with the stock cooling shroud or fan. As a learning exercise, I figured I'd try to put together my own cooling solution, and I am heavily considering a Kraken G12 with a 120mm AIO (though the Raijintek Morpheus II is another interesting option). My question is what size of heatsinks should I use to help cool the VRAM & Memory chips? Since I'm not worried about going back to stock, I'd also like to hear about suggestions for thermal adhesives/ cement. -
Hi there so recently bought a pre-built custom computer for that so nothing off eBay it came with a Amd ryzen 5 3400g processor 16 gb of ddr4 ram and a new gtx 1650 (gddr6) added 120 mm aio cooler on the cpu and have found an amazing deal had a titan X Maxwell 12 GB even though the card is seven years old it should still be able to outperform with 1650 I should be able to sell the current 1650 for £100 which would bring the PC back under the £500 budget the spare power supply I will probably just be kept in case of an emergency i’m also going to be spending £60 on a full 240 mm all in one GPU cooler with the kraken g12 and a corsair aio. text.txttext.txt

So, I am (like everyone) looking for a GPU and came across used Titan X Pascal for 600eur (would try to lower to 500 ish probably). Considering 3060ti costs just about 680eur here (well, it would if there was stock) and any GTX/RTX cards on 2nd hand market are crazy as well, I just might consider this. However, it's kind of hard to find benchmarks for a Titan so any info on this would be great.

titanx Not-overclocked Titan X @ 99% under load - is this okay?
Chairein posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hello, I recently purchased a 34'' ultrawide monitor (LG 34UM58-P) and am running Witcher 3 on Ultra settings using my Titan X. When in game, the GPU is immediately at 99% utilization and gets to around 83 degrees (its max temp, per the default settings on MSI Afterburner). The GPU is not overclocked (nothing is overclocked in my rig, as my MOBO does not support it nor have I really needed it). Is this okay, or will this put too much stress on the GPU? Also, is additional cooling (perhaps even water cooling) recommended (needed?0 for the Titan X even though it is not overclocked? Many thanks! Nick -
Hi guys, My 1080ti is arriving tomorrow and ideally i want to install an aio on the gpu for cooler temps and better overclocking. What i am not sure about is if the gtx Titan X Maxwell hybrid cooler will fit on the 1080ti FE. As they are both reference design PCB's i would assume so. But i am not sure.

I am building a 3 way Titan XP build on a Rampage V Edition 10. I was going to use Bitspower blocks, but they are out of stock everywhere so it's either EK or Swiftech. I like Swiftech better because it looks better and has RGB leds. However I am leaning EK because I need to have a terminal connecting the cards. Is there any tripple terminal compatible with this block? http://www.performance-pcs.com/swiftech-komodo-nv-le-gtx-titan-x-pascal-vga-waterblock.html Thanks!

Hi, So i have a £150-160 max budget to build a loop, I already have the GPU Block for my Titan X (also came with a backplate) I need to obvs build a full loop around it. I am relatively new to Watercooling despite doing this myself with some cheap pump and old bits of AIO coolers - yes silly i know but fun : Anywho i have £150 roughly to spend and need enough cooling power to cool the Titan X and the CPU - I will admit the CPU is an awful overclocker. The Titan X i really want to be able to push into the 1500mhz range though. Can you guys help me ?!?!? Edit : i was hoping to use 7/16" ID 5/8" OD 16/11mm tubing as i already have lots (see picture)

Hello everyone, I have a few remaining questions about the Titan XP (Pascal Titan X). If I buy the Titan XP, I was wondering if I needed to upgrade my PC to not bottleneck the card. My current specs:OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bitProcessor: i7-4770 (non K) 3.40 GHzCurrent graphics card: Titan X (Maxwell)Memory: 32 GbMotherboard: H87 Pro Also do you think any benchmarks of the card will come out before it's release? Some notes: - The Titan XP will probably cost around 1300 Euro in my country. - I am not interested in buying 2 1080's instead as I've heard my motherboard does not support SLI, 2x 1080's will cost me about 1600 Euro and some other cons about SLI. - Sorry for my English if something is written incorrectly, as I live in the Netherlands. - Recommendations for upgrading my system are welcome. - If you've got any questions I'm happy to answer them. Thanks in advance. (For reading and replying)

Hey guys! I was having a look on Marktplaats.nl (Dutch Ebay) and searched for Titan X just for fun, and I saw a Titan X in the same city as I live in for only €500!! The new price in the Netherlands is €1050, so that's more than half the price. Would it be worth it to buy it and sell it again? He said I can see it working in his pc and if I'm going to take a look, I'm going with my dad. Sorry if my English is bad, but I'm hyped because of this

Hey guys! I've got just two questions about the upcoming GTX1070; -Do you think the 1070 will really have the same performance as the Titan X? -And do they mean gaming performance or (video) rendering performance?

Hi...this is probably me last question because I had already ordered my BENQ 4K monitor and I think it will do a great job on 4K gaming and photo editing. The thing is ,now I only have about 1000$USD on graphics cards. It seems I don't have too much choice but only 390Xcf or 980sli or a single 980ti or a titanx. I'm not gonna choose titanx so that's not a problem...So can you help me? 390X cf will cost about 860$,980sli will cost 980$ ,and a EVGA 980ti SC+ will cost less than 700$. I just want to know if a single 980ti can run 4K game smoothing(I mean at least 30 fps in ultra setting ,no AA, the game will be some new game this year on PC like GTA5 or The witcher 3 ),and how about 390X cf? and 980sli?

After confirmed to release Komodo-LE for Titan X and 980 ti on Swiftech Forum. They posted a picture of the gorgeous water-block on their Facebook. In my opinion, they are the best looking Titan X water block on the market right now (maybe not yet). If you like me, been waiting this water-block for 6 month, just get your wallet ready. They should come in 2 weeks. Hello, I'm new to this discussion board. I joined after doing some research, looking at the reviews and guides on YouTube, looking at benchmarks and tests done by others. It's been over a decade since I last built a custom PC, and since then I have been using laptops and MacBooks for work with little emphasis on buying machines for gaming. Until recently I have been satisfied with playing games on my 3 year old Retina MacBook Pro with medium to low graphics settings. That is no longer the case, I want to play games with good graphics settings and the latest 3D games. After doing a bit of research as previously stated, I decided to build a custom PC. With the following components for now, and with a plan to add some additional components in the coming month. Case: Cooler Master Cosmos II At first I thought I would want to add custom water cooling hence this large case. After a couple of weeks with it and reading additional reviews from people who have experiences with custom water cooling, I have decided against custom water cooling and it seems this case is now too roomy. Unfortunately it is too late to return it and get a smaller case, however the extra room in the case could be good for having good air flow. Now for the electronics. MSI z97 xPower AC Intel i7 4790K Zotac Titan X (1 card for now, will get a 2nd card for 2-way SLI) 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro memory Kingston HyperX Savage SSD (480GB) 2x 2TB Western Digital Green HDDs (for internal data storage and backup, I have external RAID NAS's already) Corsair HX850w power supply Corsair H110 AIO water cooling for the cpu Additionally, I have a 2nd 480GB SSD Sandisk Extreme that was rarely used for recording video from my Atomos external recorder. And I am using my 8 year old Asus mk241h 24" 1920x1200 monitor. I plan to replace this with a triple monitor setup in the near future, however I have yet to decide on which ones to get. So that's the rig I have built and the components I plan to add soon. What I would like is some advice about which monitors to get, how to overclock the CPU if necessary and any other 2 cents people like to add.

With the new GTX 980 Ti being announced, everyone will be licking their lips (or cursing under their breath for just having bought a GTX 980 @ $550) for the chance to buy a Titan X-ish card for a $100 premium over a GTX 980 at $650. However, let me put your attention to the following... Europe Here in Europe, the GTX 980 G1 Gaming was sold for a reasonable 580-ish Euro ($640). With the release of the Ti, the G1 saw its price drop to 529 Euro ($570) http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/4096MB-Gigabyte-GeForce-GTX-980-Gaming-G1-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_977900.html(sorry for the german links) Now here is the kicker! I found a link to the GTX 980 Ti G1 being sold for a bargain at.... 899 Euro! ($1000!) http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/6144MB-Gigabyte-GeForce-GTX-980-Ti-Gaming-G1-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_1005048.html As a comparison, the GTX Titan X costs roughly 1.070 Euro ($1200!) http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/12288MB-Gigabyte-GeForce-GTX-Titan-X-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_998091.html And this, of course, is all due to the lovely tax laws we have here in Europe. So now I put the question out there to the community. WHAT WOULD YOU DO? 1. Buy an European GTX 980 G1, and pay the $70 premium of the American one? 2. Buy an European GTX 980 Ti G1, and pay the $430 premium over the European GTX 980 G1 (80% premiun for 20% performance increase)? 3. Buy an European GTX Titan X, and pay the $630 premium over the European GTX 980 G1 (110% premiun for 30% performance increase)? 4. Buy an American GTX 980 Ti G1 in the US, hoping it will sit around $750, a cut of $250 over a European one, and hope the European customs doesn't fine you from trying to bring it in through your hand luggage? 5. Buy an American GTX Titan X in the US at the price of an European GTX 980 Ti G1, and hope the European customs doesn't fine you from trying to bring it in through your hand luggage? 6. Someting else... Let the discussions begin!

considering THIS http://core0.staticworld.net/images/article/2015/03/geforce-titanx-shroud-off-100573544-orig.png is its cooler... 90 degrees doesnt sound bad. and putting a rather beastly CPU cooler and getting some good airflow through it would sound pretty freaking smart. why no one alrady do this. cmon.

Hey guys I thought it would be useful to do a review on the Titan X after having it installed for a week in the system now. I think that the card is amazing and I have not struggled with anything that I have come across so far also being gifted Witcher 3 from NVidia allowed me to see how powerful the card really is whilst also playing things like GTA V with all of the RAM of the card being utilized well even with its 384 bit memory bus. However I did come across a small issue with the card that caused my system to crash and that was the heating the card isn't good at keeping low temperatures by itself however this was easily rectified. With the use of third party software in this case EVGA Precision which I used to help increase fan speeds when temperatures were going high. But with a single Titan X on GTA for ultra 4k I was able to get between 33 - 40 fps with a single card then 50 - 63 for average settings on 4k. I also did 1440 p and I was able to get up to 81 with the lowest being 54. then on 1080p I was able to achieve a maximum of 100 with my lowest being around the 52 mark. All of these settings were on ultra for their resolutions. Whilst running FurMark previously before fixing the fans I was noticing temperatures were going up to 83 even 88 at one point to which I had to stop as it was well past the recommended 83. But as I mentioned I was able to tweak the fans and got a maximum temperature of 65 when my room was hot and 62 when it was cool and 30-35 whilst being idle. Also I have done some testing with 3D Mark and I have attached the link to the result which I have gotten from fire strike I don't have the full version I apologise haha. http://www.3dmark.com/fs/4899961 Overall I think the card is good of course the obvious cons might be the pricing of the card itself considering not everyone has a spare £1000 laying around to spend on one component. But when it comes down to performance this card is unbelievable and if you cannot afford this then you could wait for the 980 Ti to be released which is fairly soon I believe. Anyway I hope this review has helped if you are interested in this particular model of the Titan X or even the Titan X in general. Thanks for reading, David
