Recently redid my entire setup, love how it came out. Decided to leave my very old Cyber Acoustic speakers behind (headphones / camping bluetooth speaker for now!), and need an acceptable replacement / upgrade! Here's what the new space looks like: I'm currently eyeing the Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2, as well as the Audio Engine A2+ as possible solutions. I really like the low-profile aspects of the Katana V2, from small form factor, to less wires (and utilizing my currently empty USB C port on the back of the new PC). I do care about audio quality, but I am not an audiophile in any way - too many GWAR concerts, it'll be lost on me. I play synth casually, I have a good ear for notes / melodies, I can tell shit speakers from nice, but I'm not an audiophile - still not, even now. I own a pair of Sony WH1000XM3, and think they sound pretty damn good. Even the $50 pair of Cyber Acoustic speakers sounded pretty solid to me (filled my tiny room, didn't sound super tinny or muffled), but I want an upgrade either way. Jeff Grubb loves his Katana V2, as do many other reviews out there. Coming from $50 Cyber Acoustics speakers, I'm thinking whatever I get will blow my mind (how do the Sony WH1000XM3 stand up to these from pure audio quality standpoint?). If you haven't guessed, I'm leaning towards them, because I want to mount those monitors, and put the speaker right under - form factor seems awesome. That said, whatever I get, I'll be using for many years to come (5+ years, at least), and I'd really like to be impressed - be it with casual movie watching (TV speakers / my Cyber Acoustics are what I've been using for years), PC gaming, or filling my VERY small apartment with some high-quality clear audio. If you do chime in, please state if you own either, and why you believe what you share. Thanks so much for your time! Please consider: Price - $350 MAX Form Factor - Size on my desk / less wires is better Audio Quality - I'm paying $200-$350 for audio equipment, at the end of the day I want it to sound good. Audio quality loss for lower form factor / other features is acceptable within reason. Features - The Katana V2 has some very neat surround sound / gaming features, that while not a primary reason to buy, are very interesting to me and I could enjoy them a lot

Hey guys, I would like your help and opinions deciding between Razer Nommo Chroma (for around ~140 USD) and Logitech Z625 (~185 USD). I know it's 2.0 vs 2.1 system, but hear me out - I'm mostly in need of solid, small satellites (but I do have space for a big subwoofer) for content consuption in the background (podcasts, LTT videos etc.), but I will also use them for gaming and listening to music when I'm drawing or working. Thus, I'm not sure if I should save a buck or go all out. My desk is against a wall covered with acoustic panels, right now I'm using Fenda R50 and I really don't want another 2.0 setup with big speakers, I'm open to other options, but keep that in mind. Budget is 185 USD tops. I was also considering a soundbar, Samsung HW-A450 specifically, which is frequently on a discounts for ~160 USD, but in this case I would have to mount it on the wall around 80 cm above my desk's top and just above my monitors.

Right now I just have some older Bose speakers that plug directly to my mobo via 3.5mm cable. I have thought about getting some studio monitors to pair with the Scarlett Solo but there are an overwhelming amount of options to choose from. Preferably I'd like something that can be placed on the desktop without taking up a ton of room but I'm open to any recommendations. Budget = less than $400

Hey guys, my family recently did a remodel of our basement and I got some of the old Boston speakers that we use to use in our surround sound set up (more specifically the front left and right speakers). I have brought them to my college dorm in the hopes of setting them up with my current set up which consists of a Vinyl record player, gaming laptop, and tv. I had an old small Pyle amp but it broke and could never get the speakers really loud enough to comfortable watch shows and listen to records on. Does anyone have any good, budget friendly suggestions? Picture of speakers and link to old amp will be below. Thanks! Hi everyone! My name is Zak, and I am currently working on getting a degree in industrial and innovative design. I am currently working on ideas for a capstone project, and I was wondering if I could get some input on one of my potential ideas. I really like the concept of is designing a way to integrate home theater audio with furniture. There is some precedent for this type of thing with companies like lovesac integrating speakers into couch cushions, and victrola and some other companies making side table bluetooth speakers. But none of those are really high quality hifi solutions in my opinion. I was thinking of integrating audio into a tv console, in such a way that it would basically be like a giant high quality soundbar, and maybe combining that with a subwoofer concealed as a side table, but that's just one way you could do it. One company that has tried this approach and no longer exists is MeiliAudio, who designed a great looking, and apparently great sounding tv console (pictured below), but that company is gone, though hopefully not because their product wasn't a good idea. The benefit of this approach is that if you or your significant other don't like the way your living room/theatre room looks with a bunch of sound equipment in it, this would be a great discreet compromise for high quality audio that also is a high quality piece of beautiful furniture. If this is something you'd be interested in leave a reply on my post, and let me know what you think! Some things I'd love to get your opinion on are, should I be considering other types of furniture for this idea, would this fit into the market seeing as relatively cheap decent sounding soundbars exist, and if it should exist, would you prefer it as like an ikea level product (which might actually work since they have that sonos partnership), or something more handcrafted and oriented towards audiophiles?

In the last few months, the audio of my computer has been getting progressively worse and worse. It started with faint popping noises once in a while, and now its constant crackling and popping every second or so. I have tried updating/rolling back the drivers, disabling audio enhancements, etc. The problem doesn't seem to be the headphones nor the cable. I tried them in many other computers and they sounded totally fine. Regardless of the source on my computer I have these problems. My speakers also have them. I tried a cheap little USB sound card and the issues stayed and were even worse. When I restart my PC, it starts running fine and then progressively the popping comes back. My main idea right now is that it might be the PSU, but I'd need more opinions! Did a random search and stumbled upon Cavern1, 2. Has anyone tried this? TL:DR of the video: Demo of Dolby Atmos sound trailer being decoded on the pc with the positional sound being animated in software Since I only have a standard 5.1 setup, I can't test it's effectiveness. If I were to have 1 pc, 2 monitors and 2 speakers, (lets say monitor a, and monitor b, and speaker a, and speaker B) Can I have the sound from monitor "A" come out speaker "A", and the sound from monitor "B" come out of speaker "B"? or will both the sound from both monitors "a", and "B" come out of both speakers "a" and "B"

I Have been Trying to figure this out for ages. I have a Pc with two monitors and I also have an Xbox one. I also have some speakers that accept sound from a male audo 3.5m jack. I have managed to get sound to play through a headset from the xbox and the pc quite easily as it has its own little mixamp so it collects sound from the pc via USB and then sound from the xbox via the audio jack out of the monitor. I can find no way to get this same thing to work with my actual speakers. I want to be able to Plug my xbox /switch/pc/monitor into something that i can plug my speakers into and hear both things at once. For example I want to be able to play xbox on one screen and youtube from the pc on another and hear them both through one set of speakers. This sounds really simple but im finding it inpossible, one solution was to use the Microphone jack at the pack of the pc and connect that to the monitor with a male to male audio jack but that has wierd delays and sounds aweful as its like it constantly stops and waits for sound to be made rather than just playing the audio. Any help would be Amazing!

Hi all, I was wondering is there a way to fix a speaker tat only plays on left side to work on the right side? I know the right one works. I have to fiddle around with the 3.5mm jack on the back of my PC for around 5 minutes, to get the right side to work for 30 seconds or less. When that happens all audio goes to the left side. these are the speakers I have set up on my computer at the moment https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KK9481I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And when I use my headphones, they are Corsair Void Pros with the 3.5mm jack after I unplug them it goes back to working on the left side again. I've tried updating audio drivers and it says they are up to date and I have tried googling what I should do to resolve this and no luck at all so this is my last shot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello guys, I currently have the logitech z623. I've got a good opportunity to buy the Razer Leviathan Elite for cheap. Is that considered an upgrade if I would do so? In addition, I can also get the Sound Blaster Katana for cheap ( will cost me a bit more then the Leviathan). Now my question is, how do they compare to one another? Is the katana worth it? I find things like this so hard because I have no plan what they really sound like. (Nope, I can't check at a store)

My speaker has like a mixer problem so it sometimes changes from left to right, vice versa. It's annoying, any suggestions? More Information:

I built my computer last July, and thought "I won't need speakers, headphones are plenty". I now regret that decision, so what are some good options for desktop speakers in a $100 budget? (slightly flexible for a great set)

Hello, I have an audio setup consisting of Audient iD4 (it's an external usb audio interface) and a pair of jbl lsr305 connected to the interface with 2 xlr to 6.3mm jack balanced cables. When I open up most of the games (especially with uncapped framerate and higher settings) I hear a humming, buzzing noise (sometimes it's really loud in menus), probably because of gpu load (my gpu doesn't have a backplate, it's an RX 580 msi armor). The speaker and the pc are both powered in the same power strip, and I only have 1 wall socket available (I'm in Italy so it's an EU socket). The weird part is that I don't hear any noise with headphones connected to my audio interface. Asking for a solution. Thanks in advance!

Evening All First post on forums but hope to join in much more now finally joined So I have a question if anyone is able to help would be really appreciated. I am looking for a solution to my audio I currently have a crap pair of tesco speakers (£10 wee jobs) that plug into my audio out I used to split this with a 2.5mm splitter got a new headset and this caused issues with the speakers being half volume. I am in the process of moving and will happen to gain some nice new build into the roof speakers in new setup but zero idea how to go about having these setup to output my PC audio. The speakers terminate at standard speaker wire out the wall but that is it no other equipment just speakers. If anyone is able to advise how I could go about getting it so I can have my headset and speakers (Including or excluding current cheap set) be the audio for my PC would assume I need to buy a bit of kit to be the middle man but again zero knowledge what i would even be aiming for. Budget is rather limited and I've been told my hearing is crap so the idea of paying more for crisp sound isn't a big deal for me just need it to be able to plug and play and nice and loud. Any help would be amazing. and hopefully nice to meet everyone.

Hey- I'm looking for some reasonable desktop speakers for everyday use (Gaming, Movies, Youtube, nothing specific). Currently I have integrated audio from my monitor, which suprisingly is pretty good, and can be compared to a First-gen echo. I'm looking for something pure and basic, obviously without a dac, amp, none of that. I don't really have a certain budget, But I'd say not to stray too far past $100, and if there's a better more budget-friendly option, I would ask you to reccomened that as well. I don't particularly care if it's Bluetooth or wired, as the positioning will be fairly convient for either. Otherwise if you think there's some audio device just over than $100, then I probably will consider it. I don't have any special needs, but I do ask that if you can find something that can maintain good clarity with some extra bass, that would be great, but It's not a need. Any input helps. Thanks

I've been using these old (over 10 year old) speakers that I plug into my monitor and use for sound (my monitor has no built ins). Lately I've noticed that sound quality is starting to decrease and that sometimes the sound will go in and out or just completely die. Does anyone have any speakers that they recommend? I would be using them for my pc, consoles, movies, etc. It would be helpful if they have a remote (but that's not a deal breaker). I have a budget of up to about $200, I would appreciate any help.

So I was updating some audio drivers, and since then my audio has been acting weird. When my headphones are connected, the system doesn't recognize them, but both built-in speakers (on my laptop) and headphones get audio output. What's happening and how can I fix this issue? Some Details: Laptop: Alpha 15 Audio Driver Manufacturer: Realtek and Nahimic SOLVED: I rollbacked the audio driver and now it's normal againg.

Hey everyone, i recently bought an LG OLED C9 55" and now i want to upgrade my sound setup to better match the TV. I never had any surround sound system and would like to try dolby atmos if the budget allows it. Right now im running an older Sony SS-EX50 stereo system, which is nice for listening to music but in movie dialogues the clarity is not that great and sometimes makes them hard to understand. My budget is around 500,- €. Of course i should be able to buy it in germany. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I currently have a Dell U2715H monitor, with a Dell AC511M speaker, which has two notches on the top that slot into into the monitor on the bottom (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-AC511M-Stereo-SoundBar/dp/B07FZY2MJN/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=dell+monitor+soundbar&qid=1587991198&sr=8-3). I'm buying an AOC CQ32G1 31.5" Curved monitor. I will have new AOC one as the main and the Dell as secondary - off to the left. Does anyone have any ideas about mounting the existing speakers? I notice that the AOC is curved and the speakers won't fit to the bottom. Any other ideas? I'm putting the Dell portrait (due to physical room) would it sound weird to have the speakers on their side? I wouldn't be able to hear positional surround things with it them, but I'm okay with that. I have headphones. Would love some help or suggestions with this. Thanks!

Hi, I have a Chromecast Ultra and I have an HP Envy 27s 4k monitor that I want to connect my Chromecast to. The only issue is that the monitor doesn't have built in speakers or a headphone jack output. What options do I have if I want audio? Is there any way I can buy like a smart soundbar or Bluetooth soundbar and connect my Chromecast ultra to that? Or use my google home mini to have the audio come out of there? Looking for any tips or suggestions on how I can get audio out of my Chromecast Ultra. Thanks,

Hi everyone, My current audio setup for my PC is a HyperX Cloud II (with the USB controller thingy) and Logitech Z623 speakers and I'm looking for a dedicated switch to easily select one or the other as output. I'm looking for a switch that can switch between USB audio output and regular 3.5mm audio out. After a lot of Googling the only thing I found that comes close is the M-Audio AIR|HUB, which looks to be just a regular Line Out amp with a USB hub. Does anyone know of a USB/Line out switch or am I out of luck here? Thanks in advance
