Hey all, Happy New Year, I hope you are all keeping safe and sane! I was wonder if anyone knew anything about some good headphones on the market between £100-£150 ($135-$205) I have heard that Sony wireless XM3/XM4 headsets are a very close rival to the Bose QC35, and they have cheaper headsets too. Beyerdynamic, AKG, behringer and sennheiser for example all make headphones and headsets, from budget to premium and professional. the problem with over ear headsets (wired with a mic) is most models are gaming orientated which are tuned to enhance bass frequencies (for gun/shooting SFX in games) and don't have great mid or high frequency reproduction. Audio Technica also have great headphones. Very comfortable. And if you were to ask me directly, Bose are also good for some high quality headphones. Also the pc37x have been said to be the best gaming headset on the market with a great open back, great mic and very well balanced drivers, but i'm not hugely into the microphone necessity as I am already using a snowball instead ( I will upgrade that at a later time) any suggestions is a major help, thank you.

I had some issues with sound dropping when playing games, so I decide to update my sound drivers, ever since I updated my drivers I got no sound at all. The only fix seems to be removing the realtek drivers. But then I still have the sound dropping in games. This is my last hope. I got an nmve m.2 drive after installing windows on that everything went bad. Maybe that is the cause? While pressing test for the speaker output (which my headphones are connected to) I got sound through my vr headset even though I was testing the speaker output. Sound was also playing through my vr headset while the output was set to speaker not oculus rift headphones. Funny thing, while typing this post I got sound for 5 seconds after that it dropped again. Thing I've already tried: reinstalling drivers checked if sound is playing in windows (it is) other outputs do seem to work fine (fe vr headset) Updated to latest BIOS Contacted asus support Suggested CMOS reset didn't help Set the device as default device reset the device to default checked windows audio in services.mcs tested other aux cable tested other headphones My specs are: Windows 10 64 bit ASUS TUF GAMING B450M-PLUS Ryzen 5 3600x 16GB ram Radeon RX 3600 XT

Hey guys, it's my first post here on ltt and I'm having this problem for a while now, i read on the web that it's beause frecuencies and that kind of stuff, but can anyone tell me why? I have a Razer Kraken TE with my PC that's a workstation, I don't know the model of my motherboard but what I can tell is that it's pretty old, i think 2007 maybe or 2010? It came with a quadro fx 5800, but I change it. Anyways do you guys know what it's really happening here? Because I don't understand. This pair of headphones came with a DAC i think, if I connect only the jack to my jackport on my pc it stops, also I tested out with everysingle game on "Observation" it's just unplayable with headphones, the sound starts to crack and won't stop till i unplugged or mute it.

So im looking for a good pair of in-ear earbuds that i can use daily. I need them to have good battery life, good sound, minimal or no static/white noise at all in the background, compact and small, and good bass is a +. price range is around 80-110 USD. Ive found these so far, but they might be a bit too big for my taste. Another thing they need is they MUST be like the iphone headphones, Hard and no rubber thing. I dont know why but i hate those like that. The hard ones is more comfortable for me: And NOT like this:

Hi dear Audio-Community! I am looking for some new headphones and am seeking your advice. When I recently moved I had to uninstall my surround speaker setup and have not jet found a place where I can reinstall the setup at the new place. It might be that I can not reinstall them at all :/ But that's another topic. Since I moved I dug out my old AKG on ear wired headphones which I have used for the past month but they are starting to fall apart. I do not really have much experience with headphones, that's why I am looking for help. What I am looking for: I want good sound quality of course but recently it has been bumming me, that the Headphones do only have a cable. I usually do walk around from time to time when I am working at home and I always had to put the headphones down because of the short cable. Id like something that has the option to use it wireless. But if it also has the option to attach a cable (for better sound quality? or not having to use the battery) that would be great. My old AKGs are on ear and closed back so they do isolate pretty good, to the point that I have to take them off if I want to understand what my SO is trying to tell me for the third time :P So maybe open back would be better? Noise cancelling is not a must, since I am planning to mostly use them at home and it is usually comfortable quiet. When commuting I prefer to use wireless in ears I have because they are way smaller but their quality and isolation is nothing that I would like at home. A few times a week I play games with them but I think most headphones are fine for that, the surround effect is done by the PC anyways i think. They should also be comfortable. I think the soft on ear feel of my old ones is okay because they are pretty light but I do not mind over ear headphones either as long as they are not huge and heavy. (My dead is rather small) I also prefer them to look "classy" and not like the average gaming headset. A microphone is also no priority. My current ones also don't have one and I don't really need one. What I intend to use them for: (maybe you can tell something from that.) Watching movies, playing games, listening to music, listening to some yt videos or podcasts while I am doing something else at home or working. So to summarize: Important: Sound quality, accuracy Comfortable and no "flashy" design Wireless and wired operation Not too much isolation Not important: Microphone Noise cancellation I hope I gave you some information that you can work with, if not you can of course ask :) I appreciate any help in finding a new pair of headphones since I have not much experience with headphones in particular and I feel like its a topic worth many hours of research until i would know whats out there and what to buy and what not. Oh and budget is around 100-300$ or € i guess. Thanks again and have a nice day!

I bought yesterday the Benq EX2780Q and comparing to my previous monitor I find it more difficult to understand voice sound Feels that it is too much bass, like the person talking is always inside a metal barrel

I love my Samsung S8's powerful audio. The EQ is flat and am using adapt sound. My Sennheiser HD 518s sounds clear and has a soft kick. Connecting it to my gaming rig, It sounds underwhelming but loud enough. I want more bass and fullness, not necessarily volume. The EQ has some curves to help a little, but my phone handles much better. I'm an average Joe with 100 to spend. What specific device could improve the audio? I game primarily. Hi, wondering if I can get a community opinion. I bought a Samsung CRG90 49" Ultrawide from Amazon recently and it's boxed up in my hall waiting for a return collection. As they had no stock to replace it, I re-ordered a fresh one from AO.com. Both have suffered from the same problem - a clicking/popping noise for a good 30 mins when turned on. Then it's fine. Then when you're ready to go to bed, you turn off the monitor, and lots of popping and cracking going off again for 30 mins or so. I've read posts suggesting it's due to the plastic casing contracting and expanding due to heat. Samsung support have told me twice now the monitor shouldn't do this. AO are awaiting more stock before they can replace this one. I may be fulfilling the definition of insanity here by doing the same thing and expecting different results. Does anyone own a CRG90 and NOT have this problem? Do I have any hope of obtaining a CRG90 without this defect? Or is it something you should expect to live with. You can watch a recording I made here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/xv35YSxnfQ9d6iFA7 You'll here the distinct pop at 00:38, 00:52, 01:06, 1:20, 1:28, 1:34, 1:46, 1:52, 1:59, 2:16, 2.23, 2:36, 2:41.....and so on. I absolutely love this monitor. There's not many alternatives to its spec. But I'm not sure I can accept a £900 monitor with this kind of defect. But for all I know, maybe ALL ultrawides suffer from this problem. Though I would've though I'd have seen more than a few reddit comments. Either way, I was mainly hoping I could benefit from some community experience with this and other ultrawide monitors. Having had two editions of this monitor in two weeks with the same problem, I'm a little bit sceptical the next one won't suffer the same issue. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks

Hello, Basically the as you can see from the screenshots the speakers has a audio jack which is basically non existent on my motherboard which is an asus rog strix b460-f. I tried plugging into all the rear panel jacks but the sounds tab still told me that it was not plugged in (speakers). However, the front panel jack which is denoted by "headphones" does work and says plugged in when I plug my cord in. Any help would be very appreciated.

I was playing Black ops cold war, my game froze and I waited a while bc I was working on an Easter egg that took me about 1.5hrs to do & it froze when I was about to complete it. I couldn't open any other application so I had to restart my pc. It was making that noise before I had restarted it and continued after and now it won't go away. Any ideas on what happened and how can I fix this? It sounds like its coming from my gpu which Is a 3080 so it kinda worries me and makes me think I need to RMA. 2116724852_Untitled23_1080p.mp4

Trying to get a new build to work! I'll link my specs below first: Case: NZXT H210 Motherboard: ASUS H370-i Gaming CPU: Intel i5 9400F GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 3GB Memory: Avexir 2X4GB 2400Mhz DDR4 Ram Storage: WD 1TB HDD, 500MB Samsung SSD PSU: 500W System Power 9 Be Quiet MY ISSUE is that I have the Razer Kraken Pro V2 and I'm using a headphone splitter to connect both mic and audio into the one front headset audio jack. Audio works great; crystal clear sound. But my mic refuses to work and constantly registers weird electronic jittering even when I just have the headphone jack plugged in. I've tried with another pair of earphones with no mic and the sound settings still say a mic is recording sound (it's the same electronic feedback noise). Things I've tried: - Both mobo and front i/o audio header are hd audio so no compatibility issues - Replugged the AAFP connector into the mobo. The pins look undamaged so doesn't seem to be the issue - Tried headphones on another computer; work just fine. No problems with headset. - No debris on or around mobo AAFP pins2020-11-01 16-52-47 (online-audio-converter.com).wav Not sure if I got unlucky with a faulty mobo, or the audio header specifically just has a faulty mic pin. Do I just buy a 3.5mm to USB converter? I've attached a screenshot of the sound settings when trying to troubleshoot (to show mic is constantly 'registering sound') and also an audio file of the sound I hear from it. Please help me!

Hey me and my friend is trying to play Sniper Elite 3, but the audio doesn't work for me. I've tried restarting the game, My computer, reinstalling the game, I have directX 11 and 12 installed as well as .netframework 4.0 (the two things quite a few videos call for as a fix). At one point while messing about with all things mentioned above, my audio began working and was fine for the entire play session, but afterwards returned to same broken state. There is absolutely no audio coming from the game. I am using a steelseries arctic 7 wireless. All help is appreciated, as this has been frustrating us for quite a while now! I have made sure that all audio on my computer works perfectly, i can listen to music and talk with my friends and i have put the ingame audio in sniper elite 3 to max, so i dont see why i'ts not working please help.

Hello. I have an Asus Strix g731gt laptop and I suspect, that the sound card has a problem. After owning it for 2 months it started giving out a minimal amount of Coil Whine and the speaker gives out a crackling noise at higher sound levels. On top of that, when a headset is plugged into the combojack I can sometimes hear popping sounds. It still has warranty so I sent it back, according to the seller one of the speakers was busted so they replaced it and then claimed the problem was solved. After using it for another week the speaker vibrates lightly at high volume levels and the popping sounds in the headset are still not fixed, people I talk to on skype and discord can hear it too. The popping sound is random. I wish to identify the true problem before sanding it back once again , because they won't do it themselves and would charge me for sending it to them again. There is a link with videos about the problem : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gsLwBbQopxbgAjxSnIk6eZ6h-kU80avT?usp=sharing I am looking for any help i can get.

Hi, I have this old Toshiba laptop with Windows XP, I want to set it up just so I can install some early 2000s games (the laptop is from sometime after 2006?) and I have installed all the drivers but the sound card. I would install Vista, but I don't have any more DDR2 laptop memory, and I feel like being time-period accurate. I've gone around on Google trying to find the driver but none are working, and the Toshiba page doesn't exist anymore. Any ideas on what I can do or where I should be looking? Laptop: Toshiba Satellite Pro L20 PSL2YA-00K00J Sound Card: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4370&SUBSYS_FF311179 I feel the subsys could be important to this as all the drivers I've found only match other subsys but same vendor and device, editing the .inf files doesn't seem to work.

Hi everyone, So I've had my computer for about a month now. There's been some bumps in the process, but for the most part I've been able to resolve problems. Today after elevating my PC off the floor with some books until I get a cart (I'm on carpet so I wanted to give the PSU fan room to intake air), I've been noticing this weird clicking and breathing noise from my PC that comes and goes, particularly when I have a program open like Firefox, discord, etc. The only things that have changed are me elevating the PC case, and updating my GPU drivers today. I stopped all my fans, and the noise continues from around the CPU area. Earlier on I was having issues with the VRM chokes whining, but I resolved that by disabling the c-states. I'm posting a video with my microphone above the top of the case. The overall rattling noise that you hear is just my exhaust fan- I plan on getting a new one. The main issue is that back and forth breathing noise and the clicking afterwards. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ips-93C26B8C-3155-420B-A606-D063F514BA06.mp4

I come to you all seeking help. I have an ASUS Zephyrus G14 which I bought last month and I’m having quite a bit of trouble with my headset’s microphone. On the Realtek driver the microphone level is so low that only shouting whilst eating it shows up a response in Sounds. What’s odd is that if I manually change the Realtek sound driver to the Windows Generic one, the mic level is solved, but every now and then, playback audio stops working and I end up doing a dance between what I need at any one moment. So I need your help to solve this once and for all. Here’s what’s been done so far: Checked headset with a known good computer (a mac) - it’s fine. (Headset does not have a mute switch) All windows updates installed Uninstalled/Reinstalled Realtek driver Rolled back to previous version of Realtek driver Disabled all audio enhancements Tried boosting microphone gain (20db is the best it does and no difference) Checked microphone volume - set to 100 Changed to generic Windows driver (as above - works then stops working) Reinstalled Windows whilst keeping data (loathed to do a full reinstall) Does anyone have any advice? Best Tilly.

When switching between full screen gaming apps to others such as Discord or Chrome, the volume levels change a fair bit. Same when opening up a new full screen app. For example, open up a game that jumps into cinematic intro music. Quite loud for maybe 3-5 seconds then drops down maybe 20%. Stays this way until I alt tab to another app, which boosts the volume back up. Alt tab back to game, keeps that volume for 3-5 seconds before switching back. This can be quite loud indeed if I've adjusted for the game. I've checked around the laptop and can't seem to find any audio profiles that would something like this. I'm running the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA401IV (2060 card, animematrix model) Win 10 Home 64-bit Latest BIOS Version being used GA401IV.212 Checked through Armoury Crate - ROGS flavour of "useful" gaming optimizer - too and couldn't find any settings that mess with audio.
