  1. TL:DR - should I get a Sliger S620 or S610 if I want to do an airline carry-on SFF build with a non-blower GPU, and I primarily care about thermals under sustained CPU/GPU loads? Can the S610, with support for only 128mm tall CPU coolers be up for the task? Or would I stand to get a lot of benefit from the full size CPU coolers that I can mount in the S620? ------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm currently a grad student and will likely have to fly across the country as COVID eases up, and I'd really like to make a small form factor build that I could take as carry on luggage. I currently have an old i7 4770k build that is in desperate need of upgrading. I currently have two SATA 2.5" SSDs, a 256gb nNVME m.2 drive, and an EVGA 1080ti FTW3 which I plan on donating to this system. The core requirements for this build will be to fit in an airliner in some form of carry-on case (be it a bag, pelican case, etc. This is TBD but leading candidate is a Pelican 1510 or 1535), and to run sustained GPU loads for potentially days (training machine learning models). This won't be happening often, but I need to make sure that I do have the ability to do this without melting the computer and throttling like crazy (also I don't care for overclocking). My GPU imposes a few constraints on my build. Specifically, I know for super tight ITX builds, people like to use blower cards to reduce GPU exhaust in the case but given that buying a GPU is out of the question these days, I'll have to work with what I got! This likely means that sandwich style cases ( < 10L ), while super appetizing, are out of the question. This leaves me in the 13-18L zone for cases. This isn't too big of a deal for me - my priorities are thermals, and fitting in an airline carry-on. I'm not realistically looking to carry it around in a backpack or anything. I'll outline the cases I've been considering and my thoughts below. Budget (including currency): ~$1500CAD ish, wiggle room available Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Machine learning, simulations. Some gaming but this is secondary; any gaming needs I'd want will be met if my main goals are met. Available parts (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): EVGA 1080ti FTW3 2x 2.5" SSD 1x 256gb nVME Noctua nh u14s (hah, for an ITX build? relevant later...) Main Build I'm looking for a Ryzen build, so I'm pretty much set on the following (happy to take suggestions though): Ryzen 7 5800x X570 Aorus Pro ITX WIFI Corsair Vengence LPX 32GB RAM Corsair SF 600W 80+ Gold CPU cooler, and case cooling, will depend on the choice of case. Candidate Cases Onto the most important bit. I've looked at a few options, and I'll first mention my requirements; the maximum carry-on size for Air Canada is 550 x 400 x 230 x mm. For convenience, I've listed all dimensions in descending order (so not L/W/H or something). The appropriate Pelican case for this is one of: Pelican air 1535 Interior (L X W X D): 518 x 284 x 183 mm Exterior (L X W X D): 558 x 355 x 228 mm Pelican 1510 Interior (L×W×D) 502 x 279 x 193 mm Exterior (L×W×D) 559 x 351 x 229 mm This isn't ironed out yet, I can look at other flight cases. Now regarding cases, I think my best options for this build are: Sliger S620 344 x 256 x 186 mm Sliger S610 344 x 256 x 151 mm The S620 is a super cool case; its around 17L but it can fit up to 165mm cpu coolers. This means my Noctua nh u14s will fit (bonus money saving points!), and it would also help a lot with thermals. More room in the case also means more fans and hopefully more airflow, helping the thermal situation a bit. The downside is that this technically is a few mm too big for the pelican 1535, which is nicer and lighter than the 1510. It's just overall a bit bulkier. The S610 is also very similar to the S620, but only supports cpu coolers up to 128mm tall, so something like a Noctua nh u9s. I'm not sure how much hotter my CPU will run under ustained load and I'm a bit worried that I'll throttle/overhead. Are there any other coolers or cooling solutions that people would recommend to mitigate some of these issues? I don't really want to go with an AIO - I'd be a bit concerned with taking one on a flight. Also this should be obvious, but I'm getting the regular vented side panel. Rejected cases: InWin A1 Plus (357 x 273 x 224 mm) - too big Cooler Master NR200 (376 x 292 x 185 mm) - too big Lian Li TU150 ( 375 x 312 x 199 mm) - too big Dan Cases A4-SFX, Formd T1, Ncase M1 - all beautiful cases but given my open-air GPU and thermal constraints, are unfortunately not an option I think Sliger SM580 (357 x 287 x 155 mm) SM560 (335 x 208 x 159 mm) SM550 (335 x 208 x 139 mm) - same issue re: thermals Final Notes I'm open to any suggestions or feedback people have to part/case selection, or cooling configurations to potentially make this build work! The only thing I can't really be flexible with is my GPU, I'm sorta stuck with the 1080ti FTW3. I'd probably also toss in another bigger m.2 SATA drive so I can have my main Linux install on that, and then have Windows on my smaller nvme and 2x 2.5" SSDs for the odd games and whatnot. If anybody has any experience with a similar situation (carrying on a workstation build) and has suggestions on the actual carry-on case (eg. other than pelican) or any other tips, I'd also love to hear them! Thanks a ton!
  2. So I am trying to put a 12v fan into a Dell Optiplex Micro SFF PC. I thought I might be able to use a SATA to Fan Header Hub, but someone here told me that the SATA connection sticking out of the motherboard is made for 2.5" drives and doesn't support 12v. The only fan header on the motherboard is for 5v fans. The only cpu coolers I could find that would fit in the case are for 12v fans. I looked into 5v to 12v step up converters but they don't seem to make them for fan headers and I have no idea if it's possible to DIY them in that way. The USB to fan header adapters don't advertise working on 12v fans. Any ideas?
  3. So I am trying to put a 12v fan into a Dell Optiplex Micro SFF PC. This SATA connection is sticking straight out of this motherboard. I tried connecting this SATA to Fan-Header Hub to the motherboard using this SATA power splitter but I can't get it to even light up. I have tested both the fan hub and the splitter out on a Real PSU SATA port and it works well.
  4. Hi, I have a dream for a perfect motherboard. it would have a chipset that is capable of quad channel memory and have three dim slots so it could have three Chanel memory. my dream is a triple channel, x570 10gig, Wi-Fi, am4 board. will my dream forever be a dream? is it possible for this perfect board to exist and it is possible to have a quad channel memory CPU and chipset connected to three dimm slots for three channel speed.
  5. Budget (including currency): 5-600€ Country: Finland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Beamng drive, Minecraft, and Blender modeling. Other details: I already have an SSD with Windows 10 installed, and a HDD for mass storage.
  6. Heya I am planning on building an SFF rig that is as small as possible and still has an RTX 3070 and a 5600X in it. What is the smallest case that can fit one? Right now I have the Velka 5 V2 in mind. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  7. Hey there. I'm looking for the Lian-Li PC-Q33B case. It's been discontinued for a while, so I was wondering if anyone knew where it could be found. On the other hand, if there are any other similar cases like it (compact width and depth but tall) I would be interested. The Phanteks Evolv Shift 2 Air barely fits where I'd like it to go (in terms of footprint), but I'd like to leave that case as a last resort. Any help is appreciated!
  8. This has been a long going design process. I began working on this years ago but haven’t come around to do it. This has had some benefits, some parts have become more SFF friendly, and by revisiting my design I have shrunk the case from 9.7 L down to 4.2 L, without losing any performance. (In theory at least). I mainly use my rig for work, which includes heavy simulations, rendering and multitasking. I like to game sometime, but when choosing between a larger case and a 3070, I chose the latter. To get this to work I need to do a couple of things that has to do with temperatures. I started out with making the assumption that most people overestimate the amount of cooling needed when water cooling. This usually makes sense, bigger radiators isn’t that much more expensive and more fans does probably help to keep the noise down if done correctly. At the same time, LTT showed us that while not satisfactory, it is possible to cool a 3090 on a 120mm radiator (66 degrees with full turbo). This got me thinking. The 3090 has an average power consumption of 350W. The 3070 has an amazing performance at only 200W average. That would potentially leave room for a high-end CPU. The only thing I could not change size of was the motherboard, which became the starting point for about 20 iterations of different placements with different hardware. When looking through cooling options I first opted out of water cooling because of the extra parts that would take up space. I began looking at it again after realizing the thickness of the GPU is critical as it is hard to place somewhere where it fits. After opting in to water cooling again, I began looking for radiators which is as large as the motherboard, but not larger. A 140mm radiator would be suitable here. When this was figured out I had to find a suitable GPU. The 3070 FE was really the only alternative. No other latest-gen GPU has a PCB below 170mm. Finding a 3070 FE is hard enough (I am yet to get my hands on one). Finding a block for it is even harder. The blocks for the 3080/3090 FE versions are rather large and I would assume the 3070 blocks would be of equal size. I decided I must make my own GPU-block to make this viable. Specs: - X570 of some sort, the flatter the better. - 5900X / 5950X (Same TDP, can't really defend the extra cost for 5950X but would be cool for performance) - 3070 FE - 64 GB, 3600MHz RAM of some kind, probably Vengeance low-profile. - 500-700W Flex ATX - PSU (been looking at a few options, but most are on sites I do not know the language of). - CPU block/Pump/res combo, been looking at the Alphacool LT Solo, might be too thick. - Some slim fan, probably a NF 12x15. - A 140mm radiator. - Case, SMOL, by me. ToDo: Order components for practical measurements Tubing size test with 10mm ID and 6mm ID for differences in tempertaure and flow. Fan test for radiator with regards to temperature Get hold of a 3070 FE... Design waterblock for 3070 FE. Challanges: Make sure 140mm radiator that is heavily covered by CPU block will be enough for cooling high-end CPU + GPU Fitting it all in 4.2L and below, this number might rise or fall depending on any last minute design progress. Making a block that will be slim and cool sufficiently with zero air flow. I would love your input, whether it is ideas or something I've missed. I'm also aware of that 4.2L might be overconfident, but I need something to drive innovative thinking.
  9. I recently found out that aliexpress ships to me and I was wondering on some help and feedback. I'm looking for a case to make my pc smaller as a mid tower is taking up unnecessary space. The case should support matx, under 14 litres (can be like 1 or 2 litres above), uses atx psu (I'll buy sfx psu if needed but preferably not), 240mm radiator support and most importantly under $100 Australian Dollars (preferably sub $50). I will be buying the case at aliexpress. https://www.aliexpress.com/ (Please change shipping location to Australia and Change currency to "AUD")
  10. I have a bunch of forum posts to make to catch up with everything i’ve been doing, but since quarantine i’ve built a gaming rig and customized the crap out of it, packed an antique radio with “broken” itx ebay parts for my girlfriend, built a budget rig for a 12 year old fortnight player, and now I’ve just water cooled the original computer and that’s going through revisions. Been a mac user my entire life, but in a friend group of windows gamers, and now I can at least complaints about windows being the worst, from a place of integrity. Looking forward to making more extensive posts about it this. I’ve got a basement full of retro macs from the newton to the commodore. I did a processor upgrade and water cooled a dual core G4 in 2004 to “compete” with my windows friends in highschool. I’m hoping to dig a lot of that up and post it in its respective forums here. LTT has been fueling me through quarantine for whatever reason. Hopefully this post welcoming myself to your forum is well received.
  11. Assuming one could get ahold of a rtx 3090 cooler and also modify it to mount. Would it be viable to try to cool a cpu with it in a small form factor case? I know alot of cpus in sff cases suffer from small coolers because of height restrictions, however since most people move the gpu around anyways you have alot of room to go over the pcie slot, especially if one makes there own case. Would it be more effective then say... A noctua L9A cooler? PS. If I ever manage to find a 3090 heatsink online somewhere and buy it. (Assuming people find this somewhat viable) I’d happily try to do this for myself and post the results.
  12. As a new user to this forum I'll make my first post count by starting a build log thread for my Formd T1 build. The pandemic is making this build a lot more difficult than I initially anticipated, so I'll be taking my sweet time for this specific build. After a long wait I've finally received my T1 on the last day of 2020. I've opted for the black colorway and truth be told, I'm already regretting my decision not getting a silver one. But hey, maybe for the V2 of this case which is now in the making I'll go for a silver version. I just completed building a NR200P for my younger brother and have to say I'm a bit nervous building in a case thats more than twice as small. My old system, before it was running on a motherboard box, was installed in a Ncase M1 so I have experience with SFF and ITX, but the T1 is really pushing the limits. Like I said, the pandemic is not helping with getting this build done, which means it's going to be a Frankenstein kinda build until its done. I'll list the parts which I've currently have at my disposal and what it needs te become in the near future. Current: CPU: AMD Ryzen 2700 CPU Cooler: Noctua C12P CPU Cooler fans: Noctua NF-A12x25 Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B450-I Gaming RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2x16 3000 Mhz C16) GPU: MSI RTX 3060TI Ventus 2X PSU: Corsair AX1200 (lol, almost as big as the case) Storage 1: Samsung 960 Evo 256 GB Storage 2: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB Final: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5xxx CPU Cooler: EK-AIO 240 D-RGB CPU Cooler fans: Noctua NF-A12x25 + 2x Noctua NF-A12x15 Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2x16 3000 Mhz C16) GPU: RTX 3080 (I've got a preorder on an Asus 3080 TUF since launch...) PSU: Corsair SF750 or EVGA Supernova 650 GM Storage 1: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB Storage 2: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB Hope you guys will enjoy the build log and I'll try to keep updating the thread as much as I can. Case Haven't started building yet, but I've just opened the box of the T1 and I have to say it looks gorgeous. Build quality really looks A+, but I still need to double check all parts to make sure mine does not have any Q&A issues. Thank god there are some YT vids out there on how to build this case since nothing is included with this case. Parts Currently I've got some parts laying around and I ran my old setup on my motherboard box because I sold my Ncase M1. The MSI 3060TI Ventus 2X feels solid and it's a beefier card than I originally anticipated. I was expecting a dual slot GPU with a single 8 pin power connector, but it's thicker than 2 slots and has two 8 pin power connectors. The EK AIO is pretty AF and I'm not sure if I'm even going to use the RGB on it.
  13. I'm looking to downsize my build to a ITX build but I want to keep my PSU. I am using a Phanteks Revolt Pro 850w PSU and want to find a smaller case for it. I travel with my PC (because of family and work) and am wanting to keep the size as small as possible but keep some items from my current build like the PSU, GPU, and so on. My current case is the NZXT H510 and Its just a pain to travel with it Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
  14. I have this PC that I slowly upgraded over time. I started with the Mainboard which came with one stick of PC4 Ram in a crappy SFF case. The whole build was filled with stone dust as I it free from the Ottawa LRT tunnel Group RTG for free. I have since transplanted the good components to a Corsair Carbide Series 4 case. I was lazy and did not reorient the CPU Heatsink nor did I put too much effort in the cable management. I purchased the PSU, GPU, RAM, Storage and Case. I want to find a nice Small Form Factor case that would allow me to replace the CPU Fam with an AIO, I also want to vertically mount the GPU for enhanced aesthetics. Better cable management should be on the list too to make it look good. I have reoriented the CPU fan and replaced the thermal compound since taking the attached photo. This case is too big the Mainboard but it was the most affordable at the time that would accommodate the then future GPU and the PSU. The old case was infuriated to use and look at. The Specs are here. I only spent $400 on this thing for the upgraded components aforementioned, The rest were acquired for free.
  15. Hello, I currently have a GT710 running inside a HP 6200 Pro SFF machine. It can cut a 1080i timeline fine for about 8 minutes of video, but anything more than that, and Resolve throws a GPU memory full error. I'd like to upgrade to a 1050TI ideally, as it has 4gb VRAM, which I presume should be more than enough for me. I've done some research, and found some annecdotal evidence of people successfully getting this to work, a lot of them say it went very well. However, I have 2 limitations. The recomended PSU for that card is 300W - I have 240 - but seen as it pulls solely from PCIe, I'd guess that my board can supply enough power to run it (maybe I'm wrong there?). If I needed to upgrade the PSU, there is no way of doing it as HP used a wierd non-standard one for this machine that is only available in 240w versions I believe. I don't do any gaming whatsoever, so any gaming performance doesn't matter to me. Another thought I'd had was potentially a 1030. I know somone with the same machine, who runs a 1030 2GB absolutely fine, but I want to make this my last GPU upgrade for a while, and I don't know if it'd meet all of my requirements. Any help/similar stories would be appreciated. Thanks.
  16. I absolutely love compact pc builds, but they are never compact enough for me and I've been trying to figure out ways to make an even smaller build. Recently though when I saw the LTT video featuring the Comino RM. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fbf4800fkfQ&t=736s) I saw how the graphics cards were sandwiched together and it go me thinking about if that were to be done with a CPU and GPU instead. to make the build even more compact it would be a case with an acrylic distro plate side panel and the front face would be a 240mm radiator in the front with the Front panel IO actually being on the top and a mesh back with a single smaller fan to help vent the passive heat build up from the SSD, ram, etc. obviously this would have to be a fully custom build but i think it has potential. It may not be the prettiest or easiest to build in case but obviously the whole design could be adjusted to have absolutely uncompromised performance in the smallest possible foot print. Thoughts please?
  17. Budget (including currency): SGD 1500 Country: Singapore (Parts ship for free on amazon.sg) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rendering on VRay, Twinmotion, Enscape. Work mainly on AutoCAD, AutoDesk Revit, Photoshop Illustrator Premiere Pro (at best 1440p vid) etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have settled for the following parts: CASE: CoolerMaster NR200 (mesh) MOBO: MSI B450I Gaming Plus AC (I am not planning to take on B550 board as it will exceed my budget, and it'll support 5000 series as well, which I will be upgrading in the years to come. Also do I really have to change the WiFi card?) CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (not intending to go for X or even Ryzen 7. I will upgrade to 5000 series in 2-3 years if needed) COOLER: Fuma 2 (is this an overkill or it is reasonable for SFF casing? or should I opt for stock or hyper 212) RAM: T-Force Dark Z 2x 16Gb (32Gb Kit) 3200MHz SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB HDD: WD Blue 4tb (CMR version as I would need longer lifespan to store my datas) GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB GDDR5 (or should I opt for GTX 1660 Super 6GB GDDR6?) PSU: EVGA SuperNova 550 80+ GM (is this sufficient for my build plan as I could get my hands on one at only SGD99) CASE FAN: 4x Arctic P12 PWM CHASSIS FAN HUB: Yellow Sands Chassis Fan Hub (sata, https://www.amazon.sg/gp/product/B0833723M3/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2Q71LTZIMKPTC&psc=1) I'm considering the following fan set up: Fuma 2 (2 fans) and case stock fan (do i really need?) as exhaust, 2x Arctic P12 PWM as top exhaust 2x Arctic P12 PWM as bottom intake 1x NZXT AER F140 as side intake (extra from my previous H510 build) Personally I find Arctic P12 on the pricier range but after some digging I find that this is the best value SFF fan (as compared to NF12) due to it's noise-temperature performance (i mean who would want a noisy SFF anyways.). My main concern of this build is that if I intend to upgrade my GPU to higher tier, say RX5700XT, in the future (say 3 years from now) and CPU to 5600X with minimal OC (highly doubting the possible upgrade), will my PSU be sufficient? As of writing the market for 600-650w SFX PSU is extremely expensive (SGD 200 range) and I doubt it will go down in weeks to come. Please suggest any possible changes to the parts that I have chose.
  18. Anyone know of cases with this layout: https://www.sfftec.com/product-page/z-case-p50-v1-1 (more common SFF layouts I've seen either wrap-around, placing motherboard and GPU back-to-back (like Dan Cases A4: https://www.dan-cases.com/dana4.php ), or flat but opposite facing (so must be a tower, really - or raised up off the table at least) like the Zaber Sentry http://zaber.com.pl/sentry/ - CPU facing one side, CPU facing the other) What I'm really dreaming of is a fairly flat & wide custom build - something like the P50 but with a 2x120 or 2x140 radiator outside the case (on the "front" (relocate the power button to somewhere else) so it's a flat layout, rectangular, maybe 2/3rds+1/3rd or half/half componentry and radiator). Ideally, I'd love to be able to have this laying flat (componentry facing to the sky) as, say, a coffee table surface - or upright (like the P50 is shown) maybe wall-mounted with enough distance to intake air behind it through the fans pushing out through the radiator...
  19. I'm considering moving my PC into a smaller case, so this isn't a full build. I just need a case, motherboard, and psu. The inspiration for this is just that my current pc is kinda ugly. When I built my pc several years ago I bought a Corsair Carbide Air 240 because I wanted a clean, white look, I thought microATX would be a happy medium in terms of size, and I didn't budget much for the case so my options were limited. Nowadays however, I care less for the white color, microATX feels more like an awkward in-between size, I didn't realize until after I bought it that the window is plastic rather than glass, and my specific case looks like an accordion. Here's what I currently have: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gMHpgt And here's what I'm looking at: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BYm3F8 The parts I found add up to a bit under $300 (US) so I guess that's my budget. My reasoning for the parts I chose is as follows: I'm not sure if the Lian Li TU150 is small enough to count as small form factor, but all the smaller cases I saw are either ugly, a pain to build in, or 2-3x the price. Hardware Canucks reviewed it well. The only other case that seemed comparable in price, quality, and aesthetics is the Cooler Master MasterCase NR200P, but that doesn't have a handle, which I don't have a specific need for but seems like a nice feature, and I can't find the version with a glass side panel anywhere for a reasonable price. I guess I also saw a similarly-priced and good-looking Raijintek Ophion model that would also allow me to keep my current psu, but it looked like it lacked cable management space and Gamers Nexus' review said it had questionable thermals. For the motherboard, I've narrowed it down to the Gigabyte B450 I Aorus Pro Wifi and the ASRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/ac. Other boards are either expensive, don't have wifi, or there's a poorly-reviewed msi. I'm leaning towards the ASRock because a Microcenter nearby has an open box one for a bit cheaper. Not a huge fan of Gigabyte anyway due to previous experience. The Silverstone SFX 300W is just the cheapest sfx psu I could find. It has an 80+ Bronze rating, Silverstone seems reputable, my wattage is low according to pcpartpicker, and I don't anticipate needing more headroom. I have one specific question. The case has a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port, but both motherboards only have a USB 3.1 Gen 2 header. Is is possible to plug it in anyway and just have lower speeds or are they completely incompatible? I'd also appreciate any general feedback, reassurance, different opinions on parts, or maybe you just think that's too much to spend for no performance difference. Thanks.
  20. So here we are again... Six or so months ago, I finished my first small form factor build; a gaming rig inside an Dreamcast shell. It was an...interesting learning curve, with non-standard components I wasn't used to using, and a LOT of dremel work. But obviously now I have to go bigger and better, and having done SFF, I've got to try something else I've not done....enter water cooling THE PLAN Of course, the case. We've got the classic...the one...the only...the FAT PS2. Roughly 3.8L in size. The last system was Intel based, so for that reason alone I'm going to make this an AMD build. The graphics card will hopefully be more powerful, I'm looking at a 1080, or a 2060S. Ram, 16Gb. That's an easy one. Storange size unknown, but it'll be M.2. Watercooling, obviously...I'd like the CPU and GPU both to be in the loop if at all feasible. As with the Dreamcast, from the front I want it to be as sleeper as possible. only the keen eye should be able to tell what's inside...

  22. I've been watching build videos about them for a couple months, but I was thinking... why would I need it? Because there could be the argument of portability, which IMO isn't valid for two reasons: You still gotta move the monitor, desk, chair, peripherals, etc. SFF is expensive, I highly doubt someone would want to carry them as a laptop. What's left after that? Perhaps the simple hobby / challenge of building something ever so small could be fun, is that it?
  23. I am building a sff pc with R5 5600x + 3060ti in Dan A4 H2O and having hard time choosing between these two AIO, both are selling for the same price in my region: 1. Phanteks Glacier One 240MPH DRGB CPU Liquid Cooler 2. EK AIO 240 D-RGB CPU Liquid Cooler Help me choose one, Thanks
  24. Hey errybody, I have an unusual build I've been planning to modularize my PC so upgrading/rebuilding will be easier. So I've been looking to create a DAS via PCIE SATA, but I can't find a compact PSU for powering up to 5 drives (lets assume all mechanical for max power overhead). I've been looking at flex atx, but a lot of them seem more expensive than buying a normal PC PSU but SFX seems too large for the small enclosure I had in mind (never seen SFX in person tho). Does anyone have a good suggestion?
  25. I received my Dan A4 H2O and the riser cable looks like this (attached), I don't have all the parts to build and test yet. Will this create any problem, should I return/replace it?
