Alright so I just bought all my base components for my first pc build for gaming... I have been looking at benchmarks all day I was going to save for the 1060.. Then I was leaning towards the 1050ti... Then I was thinking of wating till I could afford an rx 480... But now I have decided, the rx 460 will be my gpu for this build, now I just have a few questions.... There's a 2gb model from power color for 99$...but there's another model for 20$ more that has 4gb of vram. Now I have read all these articles about how it could "bottle-neck" some games. Holds back other components...future games will need at least 4gb of vram...ect ect But I want to hear it from you guys...what cons are there to opting for the cheaper 2gb vram. I don't care about what future titles might be using but what will it do now? Will it be bad choice to get 2gb version? Any input is welcome I won't shoot down any opinions (also any gpu recommendations are welcome I'm always open to hear opinions) Edit- forgot to mention that I will have an i3 6100 as a processer...if that matters at all

Hi guys, I'm new to pc building and I'm on a tight budget right now (~600$, at least in my country) including a 1080p monitor, the one I have is 768p. I'm thinking of buying these parts: Core i3 6100 Asus H110M-A Crucial 8gb DDR4 2133 Toshiba 1Tb HDD Sapphire rx 460 2gb Seasonic S12II 520w Corsair spec-01 Are these parts good? ( i plan to upgrade to an i5 6400 + gtx 1060 6gb some time) Can this hold up to AAA titles at med-high settings at 1080p at playable fps?

Hi guys I'm trying to build a budget rig some time in the next few months. And I've decided to choose these parts: Intel Core i3 6100 Asus H110M-D A cheap 8gb (1x8) ddr4 2133 Sapphire Rx 460 2gb Corsair SPEC-03 case Seasonic S12II 520w 80+ Brz And i plan to upgrade it next year for an Core i5 6600 (the non k) and a Gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb. Is the seasonic psu sufficient enough for the upgrade? Power calculator says it totaled "306watts" in the i5 6600 + gtx 1060.

i want to upgrade my graphics card and for my budget i can get a gtx 1050 or a Rx 460.They are priced exactly the same in our country. which one should give me the best performance in games. Can i play new games like infinite warfare in these graphics cards in high settings?

Which one is better to buy? The RX 460 4gb or the rx 460 2gb. I am thinking about going for the 4gb model. But some people are recommending the GTX 1050 instead of the rx 460 4gb. So should i go for the GTX 1050 or the rx 460 2gb or the rx 460 4gb? My specs: i3 6100 500w psu 8gb ram

I bought a RX 460 and a pre builted pc... And it runs incredibly well! At 720p but still! It runs most games at a nice 60 fps! And for a whopping 60 us dollars you can get that card too! I'm just really happy with it! My entire PC including my gpu was 260 dollars. So if you don't have much and don't make much I highly recommend doing this! It's a great way to play games on a budget!

So I have noticed my sapphire rx 460 4gb oc lately is running hot, have never seen such Temps, about week a go I changed paste and cleand fans but still it run over 80c some times even to 87c. I have generic midtower case, and don't have any fans on it. Gpu is not cramped in to it, has about 10cm free space under it. CPU has normal Temps(cpu has the same paste as gpu) . Any suggestions to lower the Temps? Or it's just old and I have to buy other gpu? Tnx for help ?

Blank screen despite BIOS sound cue and spinning fan
Constantine_99 posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I just sold my RX 460 to my friend, and before he took it home, I made sure to check that everything's working fine and dandy (at the very least, it does boot up and show display up to the windows login), however, at the very next day, he complained about the GPU won't display anything despite the PC actually booting just fine (1 beep POST). When he tried using the onboard graphic, the display would show up just fine After coming to his house and swapping out few different hardware to no avail, I took it home with me for further testing, the only new thing that I could learn from my home testing is that the PC actually boots up just fine, because I managed to enter and browse the BIOS despite not having any sort of display in my monitor (confirmed by BIOS sound effect). parts I've swapped out: things I've tried so far: - CMOS battery drain - boot into safe mode and use DDU to clean up the old driver - disabling the basic VGA adapter (if I enabled it, I won't be able to boot into windows even when connected through the mobo, since his monitor would keep spewing "out of range" error) - booting with different hardware (CPU, mobo, PSU, and even different RAM stick) - changing the primary graphics adapter to PCIe instead of onboard - asking the people of this forum for help all test was done on HDMI only since that's the only one that I had (planning to get some adapter to try other ports) Anything else I could try? -
Hello friends, I have a computer with the following specs: - Pentium G4560 - MSI B250M Bazooka - 8GB (1x8) DDR4-2400 - ASUS Dual RX 460 OC 2GB GDDR5 - Corsair CX550M - CM MasterBox Q300L (with 1 additional 120mm intake fan) The problem I'm struggling with is that my GPU is currently stuck at around 1150MHz with 99-100% utilisation when gaming or running type of 3D applications, even though I have a boost clock set on MSI Afterburner of 1275MHz. I have tried synthetic benchmarks like Heaven 4.0, Valley 1.0 and Superposition, and some games like Fortnite, CS:GO, Rocket League and PUBG, and in none of them the core clocks went above 1160MHz. These are my current MSI Afterburner settings: - 1275 boost clock - 1750 mem clock (stock) - power limit 112% (max) - temp limit 90ºC (max) - core voltage at stock During gaming or benchmarking, the total GPU power draw never surpasses 55W (peak PCIe 3.0 x16 power is 75W), so it can't be a power limitation. Also, because of my custom fan curve, the temperarute peaks at around 63ºC after 30 minutes of gameplay, so it can't be a throttling issue as well. I have tried the following: - Clean reinstallation of the latest AMD (optional) display driver using DDU; - Clean reinstallation of the latest AMD (stable) display driver using DDU; - Increase GPU voltage; - Reset GPU to factory settings; - Uninstall MSI Afterburner and try other software such as GPU TweakII and GPU-Z (this last one just for monitoring); - Disable AMD Freesync The funny thing is that, after I close the Heaven 4.0 benchmark, during the credit image, my GPU clock boosts and locks up at 1275MHz, just as it is supposed to be, and then downclocks normally when I hit the desktop. I find this to be extremely odd since I've seen people with the exact same card as me hitting the 1250MHz mark straight out of the box, without any tweaking. Please, help me if you can. Thanks a lot and sorry for the long text. I tried to be as detailed as I could. I added some screenshots to help out.

Realistically, how much are you really willing to pay for a 2gb rx460 nowadays? I'm seeing them go for upwards of 100 on ebay, but is that really worth it? Fyi, trying to build a pc for a friend on a 150 dollat budget. Able to max out skyrim remastered. This is a system based inside of a low wattage Lenovo.

Soo,I recently bought a used rx 460(Gigabyte Windforce) and I saw the post on overclocking.guide on how to unlock it. Simple,so I decided to do it,the card installed the BIOS with no problem what-so-ever. But then it hit me,I used the adrenalin 18.8.1 drivers and I didn't know what to do. Decided to follow the guide anyway and ended up installing the drivers, but the resolution didn't change and I couldn't open Radeon Settings. Reverted back to the original and tried, with an rx 560 bios, but the card gave me artifacts,so I went back as fast as possible. Anyway, does anybody have the card working with 18.5/8.X drivers and if so,how did you manage to do it?

A couple of days ago I turned off the PC and went to sleep, when I turned my PC on again it seemed normal untill I got to the login screen with the screen gone to standby. At first I thought it was a problem with Windows and so I reinstalled them, it was fine until I tried to install the drivers for my Rx 460.I reinstalled them multiple times and always it turned out the same. Did AMD publish bad drivers or did my GPU just reject the fact that it's an Rx 460?

I am going to build another computer for my friend with R3 1200 . Which would be better 1050 ti or Rx 460. Thanks for helping in advance.

Hello! I'm trying to overclock a Xeon e5450 and the chip itself is overclocking really well, but I'm running into a problem when I pair it with an RX 460 on the mobo any sort of overclock on the CPU causes the system to give me a GPU error beep code. Does anyone have a clue as to why this could be happening? Here are my computer specs:

I'm just wondering if I can put an RX 460 in my HP Pro 6300. I believe it just runs off the motherboard, but the recommended PSU for the RX 460 is 400W but the one in my system "should not exceed" 320. I'm wondering if I'd have better luck with a GTX 1050, however I'm on a really tight budget of $150 CAD. (I got the PC for $180 on Kijiji and I only have $150 for the graphics card, so that's why I'm looking for a used RX 460) Anyways, what I'm asking is, will a maximum 320W HP OEM PSU be enough for my RX 460 powered through the motherboard? The case is really bulky, so I won't have any problems fitting the card.

Hello guys , i read everywhere about crossfire those two cards is bad , i already have an rx 460 2gb and a ryzen 5 1500x and i really want to know from the guys with crossfire if it's worth it and how it behave in big new-ish games like assassin origins or something similar to graphics , does those games have stuttering,crashes... and how much performance u got with it , also can i put one card to play games and the orther card to another monitor and play another game there with second graphic card ?

Since half a Year i recognized that after watching videos on youtube (only LTT :D) my gpu utilization locks to 100% in HW monitor. In task manager it goes down to ~0% when ending the streaming. My question is what could cause this? Im using an rx460 normally with the latest drivers and i never tried to mine or something like that.

I am looking to get a video card upgrade, any upgrade is good, I want to upgrade from an R7 250, but I was wondering if the RX 460 / 560 is worth it given the current video card drought, most of the games I play will be able to run on such a card pretty easily (I can already play all of them on 1050p, low-medium, or medium-high, The Crew being the only game I have issues with, but that might just be a CPU bottleneck)

I understand that an APU is not a GPU, but my FX 550IU is experiencing some problems, and i need help The thermals are somewhat fine, but from all the tests and benchmark shown on the ASUS event, this laptop is supposed to give me higher performance. It is giving me 45 fps on low setting in overwatch but 60 fps in high which is weird and in dota2 I'm supposed to get 60 fps in high but im getting only 30, i am also unable to see my amd configuration if i right click my desktop. The insides are: -8gb ram -1tb HDD -250 gb SSD -APU = FX-9830P -GPU - Rx 460 The problem that i had theorized from searching the web is that my drivers are outdated, this is true because last time i updated my driver to the newest version is that i broke my gpu and did not work until i uninstall the drivers completely and reinstall the driver that is the 2nd most recent. I had tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still there has been no changes if i had not updated it to the 2nd most driver i wouldn't be able to game at all.

TL;DR If you really don't have time to read my post and help me solve my problem just answer me this: can I claim a DOA refund on my laptop if the dedicated GPU isn't working with any games, even though almost everyone else who bought the laptop has bumped into this issue? I apologize in advance for any grammar mistakes I make, since this will be a big text and english isn't my main language. Introduction and Laptop Specs (you can skip this part if you want) I recently bought an ASUS K550IU for 500 pounds. I needed a laptop for school, but I also wanted one that could be used for gaming. Since this laptop came with a RX 460, I thought it was a steal and bought almost immediatly. These are the full specs: Processor: FX 9830P Quad Core APU with R7 integrated graphics RAM: 8GB DDR4, of which 7GB are for the processor and 1 is for the R7 graphics. Storage: 128GB SSD + 1TB Hard Drive Dedicated Graphics Card: RX 460 4GB BIOS Version: 300 Problems I'm having Basically the dedicated graphics card isn't being used by any games, all of which are using the R7 graphics. On top of that, If I try and update my Radeon drivers to any version past 17.4.3 both graphics card stop working and device manager will report Error Code 43, that reads "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems." Also, I don't think this has to do with this problem but I can't change the resolution of my screen if I'm using any monitor or TV that isn't my laptop's one. I googled "drivers problem ASUS K550IU" and I found out I wasn't the only one having this issue: I've found at least 5 posts on forums on 2016 about these problems, and I'm sure I only couldn't find more because this isn't a particularly popular laptop. The only game I've got to work with the RX 460 was Overwatch, and that was when I was using the 16.6 drivers that came with the laptop. Also, applications like Windows Device Manager, GPU-Z and Afterburner can all identify the RX 460. The two things that bug me the most here are Afterburner reporting there are 4 RX 460 connected, Afterburner reporting 0 MHz speeds, GPU-Z reporting 0 MHz memory clock and GPU-Z marking my card as incompatible with DirectX. At last, Rivatuner won't show statistics on any game, and if I try and use Dolphin (the Wii emulator) and choose DirectX as the backend I won't get the option to choose the RX 460 as my graphics adapter. What I've tried doing I have already tried reinstalling Windows, but the situation stayed the same. I've tried disabling the R7 Graphics, which led into the system thinking there was no graphics card connected. I've tried assigning high performance profiles on the Catalyst Control Center, which still didn't fix the issue. I've also tried contacting ASUS support, but they still haven't responded to me yet, even though I contacted them 3 days ago and they said they would get back to me in 48 hours. What I want to know So what should I do know? Is there anything I can stil do? I'm on BIOS version 300, the latest released by ASUS on October 2016. I'm Brazilian, but I'm on London currently and I will be here until January 31st. So is there any ASUS official store here where I would be able to get technical support? And could I instead ask for a refund claiming the product was dead on arrival, since I got it less than 30 days ago? If you have read this far I'm truly grateful, and if you have any idea on how I can solve my problem please tell me, because I've already spent a big part of my time in London just trying to get this GPU to work.
