I have a Redmi Note 10 Pro running Android 13/MIUI 14.0.7.0.TKFEUXM Global. I want to root it again (it loses root with each update), but the only 14.0.7.0 Global ROM available at xiaomifirmwareupdater.com is 14.0.7.0.TKFMIXM. There is a 14.0.7.0.TKFEUXM EEA ROM, which I believe is the EU version. Can I extract boot.img from the TKFMIXM variant to root a TKFEUXM ROM? Will that brick the phone because of the different version? Alternatively, could I use the EU version? I don't want to flash the entire ROM, just extract the boot.img file. I appreciate any help.

Actually my main goal is to intall a custom rom to the phone (Its the same rom but the Europe version) and I think I need to root it to get started. So how can I do this rooting/custom stuff? Thanks.

I thought a fun Christmas project would be the resurrection of the the old family computer, a ‘Gateway Performance AS 650 tb3’ desktop. To give some back story, about a year ago I dusted off the internal components, when I put the computer back together it booted fine but crashed a few seconds latter. Now all I get when I turn it on are beeps codes. The code specifically states that ‘the video card is faulty or not installed, or an external ROM module does not properly checksum to zero’. So I have a few questions: 1) Given the age of this machine how do I know what replacement GPU’s are compatible? 2) If it is the ROM module that’s fizzled, how do fix that? 3) I’ve been unable to find a PDF manual for the computer anywhere on the internet, was hoping someone could help me with that? ~Thanks in advance for any help I get on this.

I'm looking to flash a custom ROM on my Galaxy A50 since it won't be receiving anymore updates. Any advice on what ROMs are available, the difference between them and tutorials on how to flash one? This is my first time so I'd like to cover my bases.

I have some old phones that I would like to reuse instead of letting them dust to death or disposing them. Before you ask, giving them to relatives isn't really feasible as it would just be a downgrade for almost all of them (glares in jealousy) Not to mention most of these phones are laughably old or in bad condition so there's that as well. I'm going to describe the phones, their respective conditions and what could possibly be done with them though feel free to give your suggestions on what I should/could do with them. Do keep in mind that I'm on a very tight budget and I'm very hesitant to spend money on these phones unless it's abosu-fukin-lutely worth the investment. FYI, I'm on a Samsung Galaxy A50 so I can't really "upgrade". Additionally, as of now, I'm not really in the need of a secondary phone though maybe I could put a sim with unlimited data into one of these and use them as mobile hotspots? Is there a ROM that focuses on cutting down background processes so that I can maximize the bandwidth/antennas for hotspot use? Though this isn't really useful considering I'm not going anywhere in this lockdown to need a hotspot in the first place but hey its best to be prepared I s'pose. Or maybe i can salvage the parts and use them to make some other stuff? Your suggestions would be very much appreciated. Again as I'm a beginner to modding, custom ROMs, rooting and whatnot, I would definitely like some advice as this also gives me the oppurtunities to safely get into modding without the risk of damaging/bricking/f**king up my phone. Hence, your suggestions are welcome with open arms. 1. Samsung Galaxy A70 (2018) Condition: Dead screen Description: AFAIK the rest of the phone works fine just the screen has committed not living. This was mainly due to a shoddy screen replacement by an even shoddier repair shop (dude literally couldn't be arsed to glue the screen back fucking taped it) the reason was that the phone being out of warranty and the screen replacement from Samsung official was ~$USD 80 whereas Mr Shoddy did it for ~$USD 25 and threw in an admittedly decent case as well. (Just so we're clear this wasn't my decision my dad wouldn't listen). I'm willing to do it myself (would be a good experience for me) but the screen costs about ~$90 so yeah. Not really willing to fix a phone when for twice the price I could just get a new one that is far more superior. Use cases: Can't really think of any. Maybe a Pendrive? mini computer? Can the micro USB connector even output to a display? Would really like some advice on this one. 2. Nokia 1 Condition: Working as normal Description: Ah yes this ******** aka my first smartphone. I have no intention of giving this to anyone simply because I'm not sadistic enough nor do I know anyone masochistic enough to take it. It runs on Android 10 (Go edition) and has a mere pittance of 1GB RAM and 8GBs of Storage (oh god the flashbacks, it's all coming back to me. no pls no). needless to say, a 5 dollar USB stick has more storage and perhaps more performance as well. Battery life is non-existent and so is its ergonomics. True to Nokia's design philosophy this mf will not fucking die. The number of times I have dropped it and it just took it like a tank is amazing. if you're wondering how much I paid for this it was a whopping ~USD 40 used. A damn good deal for someone who had been stuck on feature phones until then. Use case: Security cam? there's an app on Google Play called Alfred (good name) that's made for this purpose and I'm gonna try it out. Maybe Install DroidCam and turn it into a webcam (albeit a crappy one though laptop webcams can't really speak for themselves) Video Doorbell? Could use some suggestions here as well. 3. Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Condition: Working (installed new battery) Description: Ooooooh boy time to travel back to 2014 the era of the unfathomable abomination that is the curved screen. This one I just got recently from my uncle [begin rant] who also has an S10+ in a cupboard but won't give it to me because it has his data on it. When I offered to transfer the data to his S21+ Ultra max storage variant he said "later" which = never [end rant]. It still has its S pen that doesn't work with any other phone or the clicky top that other S pens do. Not really sure what to do with this one. It's running Android 6.0/Marshmallow. Use Case: Since it's so old maybe I can use this as a testing/learning ground for flashing ROMs. <--This could also apply to the others. Drawing ....surface? (cant really call it a tablet now can I?) Again would like to hear your suggestions. Last but not least 4. Huawei Nova 3i Condition: Screen is halfway out Description: This was my dad's old phone and during his time using it, he had the bright idea of putting his phone in his back pocket and sitting on it. For 3-4 years, Every, Single, Day. One day he drops it and is surprised to find the phones screen halfway tryna make a run for it. So yea basically the phone's screen is halfway out and the buttons (both volume and lock) are f**ked and the screen has dead zones and other touchscreen related issues. Use Case: I cant think of much either. Maybe I can disassemble that finger print reader and somehow connect it to my laptop to make windows hello/finger print login possible? Probably not possible with the A70 since its reader is on the side, maybe the Note Edge? Though I would assume its fingerprint tech is inferior to the Huawei's due to the age gap. So to list out some of the universal use cases I can think of are: a) Put a sim with unlimited data and if possible flash a custom ROM that limits background/network processes/activity so that the phone's antennas can be maximized for hotspot usage. b) Disassemble and salvage parts like cameras, batteries and whatever can be reused. Perhaps can DIY them into something else? I'm not exactly sure c) Turn them into Security cams, I know there's an app called Alfred on Google Play that I will try out and see if and how well it works. d) Turn them into smart storage units? I'm thinking since some of them have large storage capacities maybe turn them into External storage units? Maybe flash a Barebones/lightweight ROM with an adequate file explorer and job done? That about sums it up for the phones if you have any question regarding details feel free to @ me and I'll try to answer asap. Again I'm open to any ideas you all may have.

Hello everyone I will get straight to the topic Recently I bought an Sapphire RX 5500XT 8GB Pulse At first I thought it was running normally until i checked the clocks. So the Memory clock is at 1736 (not 1750) and the Boost Clock reaches 1820-1830 not 1845. And then I checked thermals with Hwmonitor and MSI Afterburner(Which wouldn't let me touch target temps and voltage even when i unlocked them from the settings). The card was hitting 80+ degrees while the fan speeds went up to 20% ( that happened at both silent and performance bios). So I thought it was a driver issue. I had the 20.11.3 and I DDU it and installed the recommended 20.11.2 Nothing changed I tried some of the auto-overclock that Andrenalin offers and things got even weirder. The auto-overclock set the speed to 1930, but my card decided to run at 1870 even when its colder at 68 degrees And then the crashes. For some unknown reason my card decide that the auto-overclock (yes even at 60Mhz lower) some day would crash and other day nope. For a whole day it was working fine , the next day it crashed. But it crashes when i close the game and not ingame. So I thought that maybe i can reflash the bios(the performance one). I downloaded a matching bios from techpowerup , downloaded the amd flash tool. I tried to launch it as administrator. And it pops up "Error reading from ROM". After that I knew it was time to ask someone more experienced (I have flashed an RX 480 in the past with completely broken bios, so I know how to use the tool , but I don't know what to do now) PLEASE HELP Specs: i3 10100 , 16gb at CL12 and 2666Mhz , Gigabyte B460 D3H, XFX TS 650 80+ Gold, Samsung EVO 860 (250GB with windows 10), patriot 480GB and Seagate 1TB

Hey everyone, A little background: It's been almost one year ago since I've had my Samsung Galaxy S10e (Exynos) without root and I've been enjoying it a lot. However, since my previous phone was a Nexus 5X with a custom close-to-stock Android 10 ROM (PixelExperience) I miss it a lot. I miss the smooth animations stock Android provides and the gestures don't seem as refined in One UI as they do in Stock Android. Additionally, there's a lot of Galaxy Apps that I don't use, and in general I've been wanting to root my phone to also install a couple XPOSED modules to tweak my experience (but that's for a different post, maybe). Don't get me wrong, One UI has great features, but stock is stock. To the point: I've been looking at stock android roms for the past few days and unfortunantly, the PixelExperience isn't available for my phone, odly enough. However, LineageOS is. I keep debating if I should install it or not, I know that I will lose all my data along with some features such as VoLTE and VoWiFi and maybe some Knox features will stop working, but I'm glad some features still work such as the cameras (all of them), the fingerprint sensor and wireless powershare. I will also want to install GAPS. Basically I want to turn my S10e in the perfect Pixel device. What I fear: Well, I've been reading that if you unlock your bootloader and flash the rom, then your phone will automatically lock the bootloader (or something similar to that. I don't remember - I would have to check it out if I proceed with this), so I fear that I end up with a bricked device. How should I go about fixing this if this happens? Got any tips on how to avoid it? A couple questions: What about updates? Do I have to wipe and re-install the ROM when an update comes out? What about major updates? Lineage OS Android 11? Do you recommend a different ROM other than LineageOS? And my main question: What are the bad consequences? What if I softbrick my device. Can I recover it? Hardbrick? Can I fix it? How? Do you recommend any articles to check out in case those two (or others) happen? Your opinion: What do you think? Got any tips/tricks, known pitfalls?

Need Help. I tried to install a global rom version of a Redmi note 7 pro and the first time i installed it succeeded. but during the first boot, it was on the redmi logo for a while, after it restarted, it went straight to twrp recovery. when i check the internal storage, all i can see was a bunch folders with randon names. the thing is i forgot to make a backup before installing the rom on twrp. now i did a format data, installed the ROM again and this time it just went straight into twrp. is there a workaround for this? Thanks in advance

I'm using a cheap huawei phone ,while I'm putting aside money to buy a new phone, (Y5 2018 DRA-L01) and the performance is literally unbearable, huge stutters, phone becomes inrensponsive really often, has a hard time picking up Wi-Fi signals and the UI is really slowing the phone down. Because of all of these reason I decided that it's better to change the OS and then reinstalling the stock ROM before selling it. However I can't find the Bootloader Unlock Key anywhere, since Huawei stopped sending them, and the only solution seems to be to pay 35$ - 55$. Is there any way I can do this for free?

Hey,what the heck are "PXE OpROM Policy" and "Storage OpROM Policy" ? I have them in my bios of ascrock x470 master sli. I have CSM enabled for optimal compatibility, even though my drives are in gpt format and they work in uefi mode. Both of these ("PXE OpROM Policy" and "Storage OpROM Policy") have a drop down menu, saying "Legacy only", "Uefi only" and "do not lanch". What should i choose?I have dual boot windows 7 and 10. Hello there! So i'm having a weird problem with android custom ROMs. So i used a galaxy S5 with Lineage OS 16 as my daily driver for almost 3/4 months, it was an okish experience. Now i got a Moto Z Play and im currently using it as my daily driver for a couple days. And i wanted to install lineageOS on it, or any ROM that is Android Pie on it. But the problem is every damn time i try to install a custom rom in my device (XT1635-02 BTW) it has the same odd bug, whenever I lock the screen it resets when i try to unlock. And i have no idea why... (It aparently works in other devices just like mine, same model that is) does anyone have any idea what may be causing this?

Have a Galaxy S6 G920T, TMobile version, that needs serious help at this point. I've tried searching through the XDA website but my version of the phone doesn't seem to be that popular and supported. Do you guys have any roms that would help breathe new life to this dying phone of mine?

I was trusting asus all this time to provide a good stock android experience, but my god their inadequacy as a good oem has baffled me. How hard can it be to update a stock version of Android to pie? They delayed the update and security patches so many times, and finally when pie alpha does drop, it still has all the bugs from the pie beta. I still believe, that they can fix and redeem themselves, but in case they don't, i would like to install a reliable custom rom for asus zenfone max Pro m1. My main requirements will be dark mode, dark notifications, dark everything, near stock experience, reliability, and easy and quick updates. Which will be the ideal rom for my case? I havent had any experience with installing custom roms as well so i would also appreciate a simple to follow guide. Thank you

Hi, I'm new into this Samsung world, I bought an used phone not long ago. And I wanted to use S pay, as it turns out I can't use it because this phone is from the US and I live in Mexico, so I discovered that I can change the CSC code and all that. The problem here is that I don't know how to, I've read that i must use a Combination File to change the CSC and ROM and all. The questions are: *which combination file should i use? i have the ROM i need so i still need to find a combination file Important! *is there a problem changing firmware? I have a SM-G9550U Samsung galaxy and I'm trying to use the SM-G9550F version. So different processors. *and is it even necessary to change the firmware to update the csc? *how to do it? I've read a lot about this by now, but still, no clue or answer about my questions (Gonna link bellow everything I've read so far) [XDA] (https://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...strap-t3771987) (https://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...t3721058/page8) [Sammobile] (https://www.sammobile.com/forum/thre...mbination-file) [ROM'S] [FREE] (https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/.../SM-G955F/MXO/) [TCE] (https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/...U1CRC7/216222/) [STOCK] (https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/.../SM-G955U/VZW/) And I've even posted a few times, I really need your help, besides s pay there are so many functions that i cant use because of region lock I would really appreciate your help! Thanks in advance for helping me out!

I am planning to root my Sony Xperia Z5Compact since my warranty had ended two weeks ago but I've been trying to learn since how to do that but I'm currently unable to. I've downloaded the recent twrp recovery for my phone, unlocked my bootloader, downloaded the sony companion app and the adb software to my pc and tried to do it several times. I go into adb and reboot into bootloader and then attempt to flash recovery recovery.img but then the adb says <waiting any devices> and doesn't respond again. I unplug my phone and then reboot it normally to try it in a different usb port but always ended the same. I followed many videos on youtube but when they succeed something goes wrong and then I'm stuck again. And also does only flashing a custom rom give me root acces? I'll download magisk after I root my phone btw... Hope and believe that you guys be helpful about this

Does anybody know a community that people follow for this phone? Like when someone's gonna install a custom rom, usually you find some thread that people download one kernel or stuff that proven itself and works nice. It seems there doesn't exist so much with my new phone. I've been used Samsung S3 and LG G2 and I understand that there's no such comparable community exists for my Huawei, my 2 old phones used to be flagship at their time. At now, I am really confused what to install to my phone and internet doesn't help so much, hope you guys help. Thanks. (it is quite too long of a wall of text sorry^^)

I have an LG Spectrum VS920 and I would like to upgrade the stuck 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich to android 4.3 because most applications on the Play store have minimum requirements of android 4.3, is there a custom ROM for this phone I could install? I would at least like to run snapchat at minimum. This phone is more likely to be a project or a burner phone of some sort so I am not looking to buy another phone, I just want to see if it is possible.

I have been using my LeEco le s3 for a while now and I have recently flashed Lineage OS 14.1 on my phone I was wondering if there was any better custom ROM that would give me better battery life but still feels just as snappy as for visual appeal I prefer stock android but I'm always for additional features. I'm fine with either Nougat or Oreo Note the LeEco le s3 uses the same ROM's as the LeEco le 2

Hi! I'm planning to buy the galaxy S6 but the problem is that it's a verizon galaxy s6.However it will be unlocked just like all the other carrier phones smuggled from other countries to Pakistan My question is that, because it's unlocked, can I install the ROMs made for the international variants of the s6 on this verizon version or will I have to find ROMs specifically made for the verizon galaxy s6
