I am using a copy of Windows 10 Home 64-bit on my Asus laptop, I also have a copy of Windows 10 Pro 64-bit on my Thinkpad x61. I was wondering, is it possible to use the thinkpads product key on the asus, and if so can I activate it as a windows 10 pro os as oppose to a home os. If I activate it will it have any negative effects such as broken files? If It worked would it restore my system to factory new?

Hi. I had a look at Apple's Mac page on their website and it made me realise that their lineup is not simple, like it was before the new 2015 MacBook. One product for consumers, one for professionals. It worked. Here's my opinion on it all. Laptops So, there's the MacBook Pro, the MacBook Air and the new 2015 MacBook. Who does the new MacBook cater for? Nobody who actually wants good price for performance. If you want a thin Mac that has a Core i5 or even an i7, you'll buy a MacBook Air. You don't need adapters and the thing is very thin. If you want a powerful machine, you've got the choice between the mid-2012 MacBook Pro which is still very powerful or the MacBook Pro Retina which is amazingly specced. The MacBook is really only good if someone wants to spend their money on something that is so underpowered. Just buy a Dell netbook from like 2008. You'll get it much cheaper. Desktops What is the Mac Mini? Apparently, it's a starter Mac for the new Mac user. Sure, that was okay when the Mac Mini wasn't a MacBook Air inside and you could actually do stuff on it. Now, you'll find that you buy a Mac Mini and then it is very underpowered. You can't return it, so what do you do? Try and sell it, losing a lot of money and perhaps buy an iMac. That would have been much more sensible from the beginning. Their price to performance is very good, you can't really complain. If someone wants an All-in-One system, go for the iMac. It even acts as a good pro machine, but then what's the Mac Pro existing for? This machine is very elegant but it is held back with the fact that is ridiculously expensive. No person in their right mind is going to buy a Mac Pro. iPad This is stupid. You've got the low-end iPad, the iPad mini. You've got the higher-end iPad for those wanting a big screen, the iPad Air. Then you've got the iPad Pro. Who does this seem good to? Designers? No, it doesn't have a full suite of Photoshop, making it a stupid choice for actual designers. It is ridiculously big, meaning it's uncomfortable for a lot of people as well. You'll go for something like a Microsoft Surface. This is super ridiculous now, Apple are trying to pull the 'This is the only laptop you need' despite the fact that it does not run OS X or Windows. iPhone This is a lot more normal and doesn't get me annoyed. I quite like this because Apple are catering to everyone, especially those who bought an iPhone because it wasn't above 5 inches. The iPhone SE is good for certain people who wanted the smaller iPhone but Apple also cater to the modern user who wants a bigger screen. The iPhone line is all that's good at Apple right now. Overall I think that with Apple moving into the future, they need a simple lineup. They need a product for the pro user and one for the consumer. I say get rid of the 2015 MacBook, the Mac mini and the iPad Pro. Apple's lineup will become a lot cleaner when they do that. Let me know what you think or if you think my opinions are absolutely absurd. I'm always open to other opinions. Thanks, Alpha.

Hello Guys, Currently, I am starting a new PC Lifestyle / Review Channel and have FINALLY setting on shelling out for the Canon T5i. This will be all of the parts that I will be getting. Everything should cost roughly $430 after the $350 rebate. I'm very happy with this choice, should my new partnership still be valid .... I really need to get videos out. All things considered, I was wondering if this setup would also be great for family portraits. The Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons are coming up and I will try to prioritize getting this if you guys think it suits both purposes. There are still LOTS of things to be done on the back-end and I can borrow a friend's T5i in the meantime. All Replies Appreciated - NINETYFOUR

I got my samsung 850 evo in the mail yesterday, and thought I would try a little test before copying over my windows install from the old ssd. A few games I have like war thunder have not been having a great time running on windows 8/10 and I have been living with lag because it only uses 1 core for a while now. I don't remember that being a problem in widows 7, so I installed the OS, and skipped the bit where you put in your key. Low and behold, war thunder is using 2+ threads at all times, leading to buttery smooth fps. So my issue is that I spent most of my spending money getting the ssd, and do not have enough to get a windows key that is more than around $30 cad. Any legit places to get keys for reasonably cheap?

Hey guys, So I have to reinstall Windows due to corruption with internet connectivity and was wondering about the product key of my Windows copy. The product key that I have is in the box that came with a DVD of Windows 8.1. Let's say I install Windows 10 via USB stick. will the product key still work in the Windows 10 installation process? Or will it only work when installing Windows 8.1?

Right! So I really wanna start reviewing products and I have no idea to start and many questions to ask My intent is to open up a new section of my new business and have it concentrate on reviewing products, such as pc parts and peripherals, new monitors etc. My problem is that I have no idea what to do first and how to get things rolling to capture the eye of an audience 1. I've been planning to start it in blog form on my current blog but I don't know if it would be better to do them in video form 2. HOW HOW HOW Do I get companies to sponsor me to review their products when I have a very small follower base Any help is welcome! Thanks again guys! Brad Smithies CEO of Shadow Enterprises

So I'm in this class about entrepreneurship and they have us coming up with product ideas. And it got me thinking about all the different possibilities for business. So far my best ideas are a smart kitchen drawer and a airblade style drying unit for when you get out of the shower. As a community I think ltt probably has some decent ideas. And I'm curious to hear them. What are some of the solutions to daily problems that you guys have come up with? Or what are some of the things that you think would be a good invention? Obviously, if you are actually planning on creating an idea, don't post it...

The company that basically invented the product launch madness is now working hard to get rid of them. Its amusing. The grand circle of life in which companies mocked Apple fans as sheep for standing in line (said companies who now pay people to attend events as "fans" no less) now ends with Apple coming up with a way to get rid of lines entirely for new product launches. I don't disagree. People are idiots. Malls and other complexes don't appreciate bums bumming days in advance just to scalp product. Apple probably gets tired of people shipping phones to other countries en masse just to avoid release dates and squander local stock. http://www.engadget.com/2015/04/07/apple-wants-you-to-avoid-product-launch-lines/

Does Linus have an address or a PO Box that I can send him mail to? There is something that I'd very much like to send to him (free for him) to review, or even just for him to keep for personal use.

Sony, take a hint from Pebble. Put your silly crap on Kickstarter or what not. You're slashing jobs and going in the red in whole divisions and selling off entire buildings, but you still find the money to RD stupid crap like this? Hey, if you want to burn all your money on hardware that goes nowhere, don't let me stop you. Just give me a few minutes to get my popcorn while your business slowly implodes from WTF releases like this. Maybe go back to focussing on what you've always good at (great TVs, overpriced memory cards, Walkmans) and maybe once you have a couple billion dollars in the coffers, go back to silly stuff. http://gizmodo.com/sony-still-thinks-theres-a-market-for-tiny-rolling-spea-1689362807

During the last week, a bunch of new laptops from HP have appeared at various Future Shop and BestBuy stores, and they all have a mysterious "HP Hexa-core" branding. They're sold at a rather high price, with ads praising the power and efficacity of the famous hexa-core. No Intel, AMD, or anything else, just HP Hexa-core. With a bit of research, I have managed to discover that this chip (as HP does not manufacture processors) is in fact an AMD A8-6410 Beema processor with 6 Compute Cores (which means 4 actual CPU cores (2 CPU modules) and 2 "GPU cores"). What do you think of this marketing scheme? Is it okay for manufacturers to outright lie to consumers even more than they usually do? And why don't they have to brand it as AMD-powered (as that's possibly a first in computer retailing) ?
