Budget (including currency): 5000€ Country: Slovenia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Coding, 3D Rendering, Encoding, Video-editing, VFX, Streaming, Gaming Other details I have all the peripherals I need, I'm looking for getting a pc that would be able to last me with my needs for a few years, the goal is playing 1440p with at least 144Hz however, being an fps player, anything above 144fps is much appreciated. For productivity sake I require lots of RAM and a beefy gpu. Another thing that is very important to me is a LOT of IO - usb c, usb a, etc. as well as a lot of pcie lanes because I own an elgato 4k60pro and the cam link pro which in addition to those two devices I would like to have another slot free. Due to needing to operate with lots of NDI sources a 10gbit ethernet port would be very handy (either one that comes with a motherboard or by buying a pcie network card) The purchase of parts is planned to be starting in about 1 week. I would prefer that the build is air cooled, since my job sometimes requires me to move the pc and I would hate to have to deal with checking wether my fittings were still tight or god forbid a spill happens. I do not care about the outside look however you can always go with a little swag. Since Slovenia is in the EU, I can easily order from other EU countries. In order to help here is a list of stores that are known amongst my pears to be reputable and have okay prices: - https://www.computeruniverse.net/en - https://www.caseking.de/ https://www.mindfactory.de/ https://www.mlacom.si/ and ofcourse the .de and .it versions of amazon. I would much appreciate your help in planing the build. Thank you (also bear in mind the purchase will be done via a company so it should come out a lil cheaper after the tax bonuses)

I'm building a new PC in a few months once I've saved up enough money in my new job, and want to build a completely overkill PC, which I've wanted to do since I was around 10 (I'm 21 now). I've posted this question to r/buildapc, but never get a straight answer. All I want to know, is whether or not the PSU is powerful enough, the RAM is ideal, and whether there are any compatibility issues that I should look out for. If there are any incompatibilities or changes I could make that would squeeze any more performance out of the rig, please let me know! I will mainly be using this build for gaming, video editing, streaming, and potentially 3D rendering to add flair to videos in a 'TheRussianBadger' style. Parts that I don't really want to change (unless there's compatibility issues): GPU AiO Monitors Mouse Case OS Parts I already have: Thermal Paste https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/VgJkZw

This is a new build that I am going to need help with. I have deep pockets and I am planning to make a new build that will be used for rendering heavy loads and heavy gaming. I am in design and need a powerful computer. I have decided the cpu and gpu, (Threadripper Pro 3955WX and Invidia RTX 3090) and need some help finding a motherboard for both. I am only going to get one 3090 so i only need one slot for that. Once I have found a motherboard I will work on getting the other parts. Could I please get some advice for parts please? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi together, I just want to share my recent wc loop upgrade with you. My previous build log can you see here: I used a plate heat exchanger to connect a second cooling loop to improve the cooling capacity. I used insulated soft tubing to connect the secondary side of the pwt to a Mo-Ra 3 360 in our unheated, but insulated attic. Now the water temperature stays at ambient, or 1°C above when playing Cyberpunk 2077 and the system puling aroung 400 - 450 W power. I'm planning to cool my PC and the room it is in with some underground geothermal collectors for the next summer :D.

O.K., I'm trying to do some, let's just say intense VR gaming, and apparently adding 2 or 3 3090's is a terrible idea. (See, "Is 3 GPU's a good idea?) How do I get more power than a 3090, assuming all my software is working great, and I, don't know, hired Ubisoft's best optimizers for my Beat Sabre. Strctly hardware improvements.

I've decided I want to build a PC that will run Windows XP 32bit and I want to use the most powerful officially supported components that still have high compatibility. I plan to pick up a quality CRT monitor for this build and a future Windows 98 build I'd like to do, so the GPU should support analog output in some capacity but I believe all cards prior to Pascal support analog output. Not sure about AMD side though. So far I'm thinking Intel i7 3770k on a Z77 platform with an Nvidia GTX 780ti. I'm not super familiar with any memory limitation intricacies Windows XP 32bit has and I see mixed information from random forums that can date back to 2001. I have questions like: "Can I have 4gb RAM and also have a 3GB video card?" "Can I have more than 4GB physical RAM and have Windows only use 4GB on boot so it's seamless with no compatibility issues? If so, how would I get dual channel to work if the kit is say, 2x4GB or 2x8GB?" "What are the maximum storage device size limitations?" I've already considered the GTX 690 and decided against it because I'm not sure about SLI stability in general (cool card tho). I'm aware that technically the GTX 980ti and Titan X are supported on XP with a minor driver edit, but I don't want to pay current gpu prices for those cards and it's not technically "out of the box supported" so they don't follow my "officially supported" theme i have going on. let me know if I'm missing any other potential GPU contenders. I'll come right out and say it, I'm not really sure if the i7 3770k is the absolute endgame CPU for this build. I'm really just looking for best single core performance here. And I guess this is where my research ended and I hopped on this forum. I've been researching for 3 days now very inefficiently. I'd really like to see a list of motherboards and chipsets that support XP but somehow haven't found any online. Also interested in any pc case suggestions, thinking of getting like an early to mid 2000s period accurate case or something but I don't know any off hand. I'm 24 years old and always played with PCs growing up but I never really got into PCs until 2016 so there's a lot of hardware history I missed completely.

Hi guys, I'm planning to build a gaming desktop, but I don't know if it the CPU is too overkill. This Build is just an idea but let me decompose it: ***CLICK HERE FOR : PC part picker Page *** ----Specs:---- -it has the AMD TR 3970x (32c @ 3.7Ghz) Inside the socket of an "Asus Zenith II Extreme" MoBo Paired with 256 GB of ram (DDR4-3200) and TWO Titan RTX (24GB) All cooled with a Corsair HyperX water-cooling (2* 480 Rads in the front, 1*420 rad in the top & 2* LL120 exhaust fans (all fans are LL *** RGB from Corsair)) Inside the Beautiful Corsair 1000D ----Storage:---- 1* Intel Optane 905P (1.5TB) for the system, Apps & Games & the Always used Videos and templates (Intros, Music and sound effects, PNGs and all kind of stuff you will use frequently through all your videos) 4* Seagate IronWolf 16TB (hooked to the SYBA 8 port Raid card to configure them in raid 10 for a total of 32 TB of Archival Storage) 2*Samsung Evo 860 PRO 4TB (in software raid0) 4* Corsair MP600 2TB inside the Asus Hyper M.2 PICe expansion card (for scratch and Media for the active Projects giving 8TB at 15GB/s speed for up to about 8 hours of 8k red footage (red code 5:1 24fps 8k full format)). ----MORE AIO:---- 1*Gigabyte GC-titan Ridge thunderbolt 3 PICe card( for extra connectivity and more functionality eg: hooking up a ProDisplay XDR) ----PSU:---- All powered By a 1600W corsair 80+ Titanium PSU ----WHO THE FUCK IS IT FOR---- It is basically speaking for no one, it just an overkill idea that can handle editing the highest quality footage, Gaming at the highest fps and Ultra settings And combining all what can PCs do in a single Machine ----SOME COMMENTS---- -I didn't use any of the five m.2 slots on the MoBo since the PCI lanes will already be occupied with all of the expansion cards and the GPUs. ----THE DREAM WORKFLOW---- -after shooting a lot of none-sense footage on the RED 8k CCam u come back home to offload all the footage in the Samsung Evo SSDs while that happens in the background you play some random game after that when u decide to finally edit you copy all of your needed footage into the insanely fast raid0 m.2 drives and start editing hopefully with no limitation or bottlenecks (a very good CPU, GPU hardware acceleration, very fast storage and enough ram) u export all the files then put'em in the SSDs if u will need them soon or dump then in the HHDs for storage (not forever if u will use this much storage eventually you will have a storage server with high capacity which can eliminate all of the HDDs and their raid card) finally, you will enjoy great HDR 10-bit videos on the apple ProDisplay XDR hooked to the thunderbolt3 card. then off to sleep and rewind all... pretty crazy ideas, Maybe Linus will think to test this build... hopefully EDIT (YES I'm A Asus , Samsung and Corsair Fan Boy)

So this is never gonna happen for me, but I assembled what I call the overkill build. The total price comes to like $11,000. Budget: 4.5k USD -10k USD Location: TX, USA. Aim: super desk! Giant viewing/multitasking display setup. Being able to casually, and rarely game in 4k w/ surround at proper FPS is wanted but not needed. PC gaming is secondary to just make it all work. Would like to build one 3-4 screen setup first, and then another one later this year, if someone has a way to make all eleven fit that be cool too. Monitors: I have 11 4k TVs 55”-65”, and am eyeballing that new 49” UW display. Six of which are all Samsung Qled Peripherals: I have all that I need. WHY?: I remember wanting a setup like this after having seen the movie “Blank Check”. I must have been 8 or 9. Childhood dream, trying to make it happen. Not an upgrade, just a build. I am a display fiend. A screen junky with a serious pixel addiction. For the last 2 years I have been living (simultaneously) in 5 rented spaces strewn about my city. My lifestyle has changed and I am now a homeowner. So I have slowly been closing leases and making moves. I had roughly 2-4 55inch to 65inch 4k QLED/UHD televisions at each living/working space. Now, after having spent the better part of the month moving and packing up, I am currently sat alone in my now mostly empty 780ft studio apartment, kept company by the ELEVEN 4k televisions that now live here, and sit unused, just chilling. This lease won't end for another year, and is paid in full. So, I have nothing but time and want to use some of these Displays to make a crazy set up. I know specificity is important here, and ill revise when I can find everything, but I simply do not have all the details on me currently. So to give a short list w/out full model numbers and specs the TVs I currently have w/ me are as follows: -2 Vizio D Series (dumb TVs) @55inch. -1 Vizio D series (smart cast) @55inch. -2 LG sj9500 @65inch -6 Samsung QN55Q6F 4k ultra @55inch. Ideally, I am looking to make either a 6 display setup, with the Samsung Qleds. Anything I make will primarily be used as a workstation/ trade desk/ and for entertainment (browse, movies, console game) Although secondary to my needs and wants Gaming (w/ surround in 1080p-4k) is a feature I would very much like to have. Space is small, so I am more fond of the idea of having 2 setups w/ 3 of the Qleds, and a pair of ultra wides below. I currently only have a handful of 1070s in an old mining rig, which I think will not be of any use to me in this endeavor. I know that I will need ALL of the VRAM, and a CPU that won’t bottleneck, some serious RAM as well. With CES coming up, Nvidia pulling a Nvidia and robbing us of the beloved GTX1080ti stock… I am at a loss. Don’t Know much about RTX… I just all of sudden have all these screens, free time, and cash. If anyone Has any suggestions as to which GPU(s), CPU(s), mobo, etc I should consider to power and run the pixels of three to four 55inch 4k Qled TVs, in surround, and possibly an ultra wide as well, id love to hear any input. with boxes full of peripherals, and home theatre supplies I literally have everything that I need…exception being THE COMPUTER to power it all. I have no idea what to build… but am I crazy to think that I can make it happen for under $ 5.5k?

Hello guys, new to the forums and new to today's tech... I am looking to do a new gaming only build and I seen the sick speeds of WD Black M.2 NVMe's and unsure if its worth RAID0 3x of them when the manufacture says "configured in RAID0 for record speeds of up to 3551 MB/s"... That's almost the speed of 1 WD Black.?.? Now the board I'm getting is GIGABYTE Z370 AORUS Gaming 7. I read with SSD's 4k OPS mean more then overall bandwidth? The random 4k QD1 and QD32 for OPS was a bit confusing, I read that the QD was like lanes for data to flow simultaneously. ie; a gamer would only use up to 4 or 5 lanes where as security systems could use them all? Right? Could someone explain a little better for a dummy please? Would it be more beneficial to RAID-0 6x normal SSD's with SATA3's? or go for the glory of RAID-0 3x NVMe's? But what about heat and throttling with NVMe's? Confused I is... I know either is probably WAY overkill, but hay why not right? Any input would be appreciated! Thanks, GBW
-
So, after 5 years (give or take) of just maintaining my old overkill build, I decided to build myself a new PC. It's gonna be utilized for my personal use (both work and gaming). And if you asking yourself: 'Do you really need all of those OP parts?' The answer to that is: 'Actually, yes. Could you believe it?' To what end? Programming 'course! So far I've got all of this (I got a killer price): ASUS ROG Zenith; AMD Threadripper 1920x; Samsung SSD 960 pro 500GB; WD Black 4TB 3.5"; Corsair Vengeance RGB 64GB(4x16); Cooler Master Cosmos C700P; and some peripherals. Here's my PCPartPicker: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Y8tmmq Beside all of the aforementioned parts I have no idea what I'm looking at (sort of), so I'm open to any-and-all suggestion (within the realm of reality of course; I'm not made of money). Also as far as monitors go - I need something sparing on the eyes.
-
I'm building a new computer for gaming mostly, but also a little bit of everything. I originally had a 1tb 979 evo in my build plans, but then thought to myself, why dont I get 2 500 GB drives in raid 0? Faster response and the same size for about the same price. After that I got to thinking about those great optane drives and lo and behold the last gen optane is about $100 more than the 2 evo's. I'm not sure which would be faster though. Any thoughts? Edit I understand the storage space difference but which would be faster?

Hello everyone, I ask for help because I don't have much experience picking out parts for my pc. 1. Budget & Location around €1900,- Europe (Netherlands) 2. Aim Streaming heavy games like Forza horizon 3, gta V and that kind of demanding games, but also 3D drawing which can get demanding with big assemblies. 3. Monitors I plan on running 3 1080P 27" monitors or 2 ultra-wides. 4. Peripherals I already have a keyboard, mouse, windows 10 pro, headset and all that stuff 5. Why are you upgrading? Because my daily driver (laptop) is getting a bit old, and I want to experience the building of a high-end pc for the 1st time Thanks in advance.

What I Know and What I Have So recently I've been watching some networking videos on YouTube and people setting up overkill networks at home with Ethernet ports in many rooms, using patch panels, and huge managed switches. I got really interested in this stuff and want to know more about this and would like to clear up some of my assumptions. Unrelated, but my current WiFi setup is this I usually get around 350 to 400 megabit per second. what I know about networking is the difference between bits, bytes, mega-, giga-, tera-, etc. I know my computer units of storage and display and other stuff. I know that a switch gives you more Ethernet ports. What I want to know What do you configure when people say "managed switches have to be configured" Most people who install in overkill router use a router that's good from the same people they get managed switches and what is the difference from that and let's say a google wifi, I think it's just that the google wifi probably isn't made for enterprise networking stuff. And please just tell me stuff I might need to know when trying to get into networking.
