Hey guys, having some issue with my newly adopted 3080. My specs are a Z490 Tomahawk, 10700KF, RTX 3080, 16GB Vengeance Pro RGB, RM850x. So this issue is ; I purchased a Gigabyte 3080 Vision OC LHR to upgrade my 2070S a month ago and it won't post with the 3080 in the top PCIe x16 slot, it posts/games fine in the bottom PCIe x4 slot. But here's the funky part, I've confirmed my 3080 works in 4 other PC's (x2 Gen 3.0 PC's, x2 Gen 4.0 PC)... But I've also confirmed my other parts are working as I've had a 2070S, 1650, 970 AND another 3080 in my PC working fine! The things I've tried so far ; ●Updating BIOS ●Downgrading BIOS ●Factory Defaults in BIOS ●Clearing CMOS for x hours ●Jumping CMOS ●Firmware update (not BIOS) on my 3080 ●Reseated all components ●Had all components out in a test bench build with only vitals connected ●Brand new RAM (16GB Corsair Vengeance) ●Tried RAM in different configurations ●Brand new PSU (RM850X) ●Checked CPU for bent pins/paste ●Made sure no grounding issues in the case ●Cleaned PCIe slots ●Un-tightened MOBO/AIO screws incase of a mounting pressure issue ●Update Intel Chipset Drivers ●Changed BIOS to PCIe Gen 3/2/1/Auto ●ReBAR on/off ●Removed all HDDs/SSDs/M.2 ●Safe mode DDU drivers 3 times ●Windows 11/10 There's probably more stuff, but I can't remember atm. The VGA light is lit up white on my mobo, indicating an issue but what could that issue be? It's as if my motherboard has forgotten what my 3080 is...Gigabyte logo lights up & all 3 GPU fans spin I briefly remember this being a thing with 3060s/3080Ti models, but what options am I left with on a non Ti model? I've already attempted an RMA on the GPU and they've come back saying it works...which it does! Intel have given me some software checks & sent off logs to them, all which come back working perfectly. I'm struggling to understand what the issue is here, as ALL components are working in different configurations, just not mine! Any help is GREATLY appreciated right now, thank you

I have a problem with ez debug led and no post. Only fans are spinning. Motherboard: msi mpg b550 carbon wifi Ram: corsair vengence lpx 3200mhz Cpu: ryzen 5 5600x Gpu: msi gtx 1060 3gb Psu: corsair TX650M I have tried many times to update bios with flash button but nothing works. When pushing the power Button the EZ debug starts at cpu for a few seconds, after that is of for 1 or 2 seconds, after that the VGA light for a few seconds then of 1 sec and boot lights up and never lights of. I have tried so many things now and I don't know what to do else. I would do anything for your help

So it was working fine for the longest time, and then one day I go to power it on and it seems like its stuck in a sleep state. Keyboard lights up, but the display doesn't come on and the activity led flashes as if it's asleep. Connecting to an external display and using keyboard commands to try to switch outputs was fruitless and the caps lock light was locked on. I tried the razer suggested combo of holding the power button and unplugging the power cable and that didn't do anything. I finally got my hands on a set of screw drivers to open up the machine and tried a full removal of the battery and storage to try to force it to post and it still behaved the same when connected to wall power with no battery or storage. Aside from a dead ram chip or something on the motherboard there's nothing more I can think of. Am I missing anything?

Hardware: MB: MSI B460M Pro-VDH Wi-Fi, Intel Core i5-10400F, GTX 1050ti, 8gb of Forza DDR4 RAM (1x8), some generic IBuyPower psu (RX-400XT-SI?) Recently I was using my prebuilt computer when it crashed. When it crashed, my keyboard lights turned off like I put my computer into hibernate. After restarting, it no longer boots. It doesn’t even post, for that matter. The fans spin up, and the EZ Debug LED’s work. With RAM installed, they cycle from CPU to DRAM, back to CPU (video attached). Without RAM, it stays on DRAM. So far I haven’t been able for it to post. I’ve ruled out the GPU, RAM, and drives. Any ideas to what’s stopping it from booting? Troubleshooting I’ve tried: Resetting CMOS, different RAM sticks, different GPU, no boot devices plugged in, using DIMMA1 with the RAM stick (from the MSI manual) FullSizeRender.MOV

Dear LTT forum, Some weeks ago, my PC stopped booting up (coincidentally it was after a Windows update, but I don't think it has anything to do with it). My hardware: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8) 2400MHz C16 Operating System: Windows 10 I looked at the LED of the motherboard and it was jumping quickly from the CPU to the DRAM LED, stayed there and cycled once more through the boot cycle. So no post. My initial thought was that there might be something wrong with the RAM, so I switched the two sticks out for another stick of RAM. Sadly, that didn't do anything. As far as I can remember, I did not do anything to the bios (overclocking / update). Looking back through my order history with the vendor, I had the exact same issue about half a year after I bought it, which is a little over two years ago. So that's why I thought my motherboard is toast, but I'd like to have your opinion, as Googling the issue does not seem to give me any relevant results. All issues that I can see either updated the BIOS or changed some settings there, or had hardware that was not yet compatible with the board. To test out my theory, I grabbed my old Asus B350 Plus and put everything on there. I booted up the computer and sadly, no luck, no post. I looked through the board documentation and noticed that the 2700 is not supported out of the box. So I put in my old Ryzen 7 1700, changing nothing else (GPU/RAM/etc.) and it booted up just fine. I updated the BIOS, put back in the 2700, but still no post. I'm just wondering what could be the issue here. I'm still leaning toward my motherboard being toast, as it did get past the CPU LED. What do you guys think? If I need to provide any more information, please let me know.

My newly bought used RX 570 4GB will, when installed and connected, make my PC not POST, does not even show motherboard splash screen. My specs are: i5 2500, Intel DH67BL with BIOS BLH6710H.86A.0122.2011.0601.1554, 2x4GB Hynnix DDR3 1600Mhz RAM at 1333Mhz, an unbranded SATA SSD with 480GB, pretty fast one at that, a 320GB WDBlue 8MB cache HDD, and a PSU Rhino RX-550PA 550W, 466W peak on 12V rail i think, 190W continuous on that same 12V Rail. Last GPU is an XFX RX 560 2GB. The newly bought GPU with an 8pin will not boot in my PC. No POST, no nothing. My RX 560 2GB still works fine, it has a 6pin. I tought it was power delivery and PSU is not delivering enough power over the 8pin for the 570, but the 560 which never went over 70W in gaming and stress tests gets enough power. I brought a PC to one private shop owner who happens to repair PCs, and we tried it with a better 600W PSU. Still the same result. Motherboard also did not beep, like it does with no RAM on boot. The card has been tried in another system, works just fine, tried FurMark on 2 mins to see the perf, no artefacts, not hotter than 70-ish degrees C. It did show a few artefacts on boot, before the drivers loaded, yet on the screen with white dots spinning that appears before windows boots, when drivers seem to load, screen went from pure green to normal. Another RX 570 4gb with 8pin but of different manufact. was tried, no POST. An RX 580 4GB with an 8pin was tried too, no POST. We, at last, came to the conclusion that it was my PC not being compatible with the GPU, which seems odd. Now I am typing this with my 560 untill i can get the 570 to work and get a new PSU for it. Help would be greatly appreciated, as i do not want to, even though i can, sell the GPU (bought used, non-opened for 95EUR, and sell it for about like 130EUR, considering there are 2 or 3 of like 8 ppl selling the same model for 255EUR too). I have also posted this in many other forums, and so far the ppl are doubting that it still is power being the problem, or lack of it, or just saying to dump the PSU, with no other comment. UPDATE: It will be tried to buy a new mobo/CPU combo that is 4th gen intel, which should ix the issue.

This all started when I restarted my computer to apply updates for linux, the specific os is pop os (22.04 I think) and the computer wouldn't boot it kept not starting for about 10 minutes while I was waiting to hang with friends in discord, so I restarted the computer again in hopes that it would fix the issue and it's been broken ever since. My computer won't start or reach the bios. The color code on my motherboard is like green, the words next to the led say boot. Through some of the troubleshooting steps I took the motherboard would also show the vga light or the yellow light too, while the green one was on. So sometimes the yellow and white were both on, vga and boot. Steps I took: I tried the cables at the back and power cycling the computer. I also tried turning off the power supply and waiting like 30 seconds or so and turning back on and trying that too. I took out the gpu and put in another one, a gtx 1650 super by asus, the Phoenix model, that didn't work. It has a power led so I know I plugged it in correctly because it's red if a connector is not plugged in on the graphics card. I tried removing all the ram sticks but one and originally it wouldn't work and I got a ram light but I think that was because it was in the first slot on the left and not that last one on the right, when I put it in the last slot to the right it didn't get a ram error, but it was still stuck on the green (boot) and the white (vga) led are now on. I can add pictures but I need to wait until I get home. Update: I fully took apart the computer after not getting it into the bios for so long. I changed out the power supply. I changed out the graphics card. I changed the motherboard and it ended up getting cpu error on the other motherboard but it was an ebay motherboard with thermal paste on the socket so I'm not exactly sure if it was not the motherboard that was the problem. Also, before I changed the motherboard I took out the cmos battery for a bit and and started it up without it and then put it back in, changed the battery to a new one. The reason I have so many parts is because I was going to build a computer for my uncle using the 5700g. I'm going to go back home tonight to try idk the 5700g on the ebay motherboard and on the x570 motherboard. At this point there is almost no original parts, I have changed out the gpu, changed the power supply, left one stick of ram in (it's still the same ram), removed both drives in case they were bunk, and changed the motherboard for a b550 board that had thermal paste on the socket, let me see if I can find the listing image. The image I have is an image I took right after receiving the motherboard.

Hello, I upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 3600 to a Ryzen 5800x, and now it’s not posting. I thought it was most likely that I didn’t update my BIOS to a version where it will support the new CPU, but when I swapped back to the old CPU it’s also not posting. It was working perfectly fine yesterday before I put the new CPU in today. I have removed the CMOS, short it and put it back in. I have unplugged the GPU and replugged it, I have removed the RAM and reinstalled them, try to start with just one stick and I have swapped the cables to the display (HDMI and DisplayPort) and none of them have worked. I've checked that every cable is connected to the MB, disconnected all peripherals (except K&M)...Fans and LEDs turn on so I don’t know what else to do, I would appreciate it if someone helped me. Monitors work since I've tried them with my laptop and they show image. So my PC was working fine one night, then I went to turn it on the next night and several drivers were corrupted or missing, I went to boot off a second drive with windows in order to make a creation tool and it blue screened. Now the motherboard won't even post or load bios. I've checked all connectors, cleared cmos multiple times, I've even reassembled the entire computer. Still no effect. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hey, first time builder here. I've just received all my pc components a week ago and put it all together. It wasn't easy but with ALOT of help for YouTube videos I managed to make it work. After working fine for 5 days, doing some gaming and light 3D rendering, it suddenly just shuts down. Now the PC won't post to my monitor. PC fans are spinning, CPU cooler is working, GPU fans spin for 5 seconds then stops (guessing it's not hot enough to spin), and RGB works fine. There's 4 small LEDs on my Motherboard that is labeled CPU, DRAM, VGA, BOOT. In that order the LEDs light up and turns off until it reaches VGA and then it stays on for at least 20 minutes (when I turned it off). googling this seems to indicate my GPU is either seated incorrectly or not being detected properly. I've tried all 3 different PCIe slots with no luck, I even used my old GTX 1080 GPU (that worked perfectly fine in my old prebuilt) that encounters the same issue of a red VGA LED. I've updated my BIOS to the latest version using QFLASH plus if perhaps a compatibility issue was the case. I'm starting to lose some hair over this issue, and I might have to pay a massive premium to get some pc specialist if I can't solve the issue. Thanks for any help you guys can provide I'll love you for an eternity Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x GPU: Gigabyte Vision RTX 3080 TI Motherboard: Gigabyte X570s AERO G Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports DUO Ram: G.Skill TridentZ Neo DDR4-3600 C16 SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 1TB PSU: Cooler Master V2 Gold 850W - White Edition Case: Phanteks Eclipse p600

Hello everyone! First off, thanks for taking the time to read this. I'm a little out of my league here. Here's my hardware: MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk AMD B550 So.AM4 Dual Channel DDR4 ATX (not sure which firmware, but I got it in January and updated it then) AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6x 3.70GHz 850 Watt Corsair RMx White Series RM850x Modular 80+ Gold 2x Crucial Ballistix BL16G36C16U4B.M16FE1 16GB DDR4-3600 Asus STRIX GTX 970 4GB 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 220 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe (MZ-V7S1T0BW) Some old 7200RPM HDD for storage Some old SanDisk SSD Plus 240GB In order to install Manjaro on my old SSD, I went into my UEFI settings and disabled Secure Boot, as well as CSM ("UEFI only" I believe was the other option). Later on, I wanted to change something else in the UEFI, but for some reason after the Manjaro installation, the resolution was extremely low to the point of it being mostly unreadable. I know I'm stupid, but I tried anyway, but it appears I accidentally chose the wrong option. I wanted to back out, but accidentally confirmed instead. I THINK I did something regarding GOP, Secure Boot and UEFI, but I don't know what exactly. Right after, the entire PC just froze up, and the only option was a hard reset. Ever since, my PC won't post anymore and the screen stays black (both monitors say they're not getting any signal). CPU fan, front fan and PSU fan are turning. GPU fan is not, but never did during boot-up. The keyboard will light up on Num, Caps and Scroll, and a few seconds later, only Num stays illuminated. SOMETIMES the EZ Debug LEDs will light up red after hitting the power button, one after the other, and go out again. SOMETIMES the "BOOT" LED will stay red. Here's what I've already tried: I've read and done all the sensible things in this thread: Tried to reset CMOS (through battery removal, as well as using the jumper method) many times, to no avail I've taken off all hard drives and SSDs, tried to boot with only one RAM stick in I have plugged in my Manjaro SSD and my GPU into an old computer, confirming that both are working (computer won't boot into the SSD's OS because the boot loader I think was on the nvme, but I can mount and use it in a live USB environment) Tried GPU in other PCI-e slot Tried both DVI slots and the HDMI slot, and different monitors Sadly I can't test the rest of the hardware in my old machine since they're not compatible. Is it possible that I accidentally activated GOP, and my GTX 970's BIOS isn't up to date and doesn't work with it? if so, would flashing a newer, compatible BIOS fix my issue so I can reset the UEFI? Did I somehow short my board and now my PCI-e lanes are fried? Or did a short somehow kill my power supply, not giving enough power to the GPU? Or is it really just the UEFI? Thanks for reading. Please let me know if any additional information is needed. I've been up all night with this.

>Greetings. The following happened and I’m running out of ideas and solutions, I need help from the PC gods here. First of all my spec list: Ryzen 9 3900X Nvidia RTX Titan MB Gigabyte x570s AERO G Phanteks Revolt X PH-P1000PS Platinum 1000 watts 64GBs of RAM Gskill ripjaws at 3200 mhz with XMP CL16 (x4 16GB sticks) x2 M.2 WD_Black SN 850 NVMe x4 Samsung 860 EVO SSDs x2 Seagate Barracuda HDD Both GPU and CPU are water-cooled in a custom loop DDC low noise pump 520 mm in radiator space x2 120mm and x3 140mm fans x2 Phanteks neon rgb strips (and Evolv X included RGB) Windows 10 and POP OS dual boot. My PC has been running alright for a couple of years until Monday. I was working as usual when I opened a hangouts call. Audio connected (I could hear everybody) but right before getting into the video room my screen froze. The audio was running and the mouse was still moving. After waiting for a couple of minutes and trying to get to task manager or alt-f4, I decided to do a hard reset (video still frozen). Right before that happened, mouse pointer froze and I noticed video artifacts on the screen, small purple bars evenly spread in various columns. PC rebooted and I could not get video anymore, not even a splash screen, no BIOS, no post. I noticed the VGA status led was on. I tried a few more hard resets, checked display and power cables, still no luck. This is what I’ve tried so far, nothing has worked yet. Reset GPU on it’s socket, unplugged PCIE power cables took out all ram sticks, retried with just one changed DP and HDMI cables Tried on several different monitors unplugged all 5V RGB LED strips reset and cleared CMOS plugged GPU without power connectors, just PCIe After this I started testing with other components. I got an Nvidia MSI geforce 210 (I know XD it’s a cereal box GPU but it’s just for debugging). I tried the small gpu on all PCIe slots and none got video output. Vga LED was on all the time. This GPU is 100% confirmed to work elsewhere. I tried testing on another MB. I took my CPU and the 210 gpu and they worked on a MSI B550m Mortar. It did post and setup into the BIOS, however there was something unusual. The GPU would only work if it was on the second PCIe slot, the one that goes to the chipset. It wont do anything on the first socket and the vga led (on the b550 Mortar) will light up. Does this mean CPU problems? No matter how many times I tried, the GPU won’t work on the main PCIe slot. Back to the Gygabite x570, nothing works. Not even on the chipset PCIe slots (this is what made think it was a MB problem initially). Confirmed that neither the 210 nor the Titan output any video, VGA led is always on. What could be the problem? What is potential solution, and how could this happen in the first place? The system has been running alright for months I don’t know what caused all this mess. It’s always clean, no OC. Tomorrow I will try testing everything again with a Ryzen 7 3700X and a GTX 1070 to try and locate the failing component. Fingers crossed, my Titan is alright… Thanks so much for your attention.

Hi everyone, i've been struggling with a weard problem for a very long time. I have a Zotac Geforce gtx 1080ti whitch doesn't post 9 out of 10 times. When I keep pressing the restart button it does post after many times. My MSI z390-A pro EZ Debug leds freezes on the VGA led. after abbout 50 sec. the display turns on and freezes on the boot screen. i've tried updating the firmware of the gpu. Ive tried resetting the bios many times with no succes. when the pc does boot it has no problems what so ever. It is only while trieing to boot. at first I thougt it was a problem with the motherboard. After switching to a new motherboard the pc started to boot better but it still is very frustrating having to push the reset button sometimes 10 times before the pc boots. When i remove the 1080ti I have no problems what so ever. Does anyone have any idea how to fix the 1080ti? I have a hard time letting go of it since it does work perfectly when it has booted. Thanks everyone!! Hello everyone, I'm stuck in quite a weird situation here. I can't get my Dell Precision T5500 to post on my Dell 1912H monitor Here's the workstation specs Intel(R) Xeon(R) E5606 2.13GHz 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 RDIMM Memory , 1333MHz, ECC 250GB SATA (7200RPM) Hard Disk Drive 1 GB NVIDIA Quadro 2000 I am connecting my PC to monitor via display port/VGA adaptor to VGA port (monitor end). The issue being ,PC is displaying bios in other monitors but not the one that I have. I tried LG monitor and other Dell monitor and the PC showed up the BIOS in them. What I've tried so far Resetting bios Changing CMOS battery Reinstalling RAM Reinstalling Graphics card Even tried DVI port This PC also have what Dell calls Diagnostic light codes. In my case I have the 1, 2, 3 numbers lit up which as per Dell's service guide means the following I have no idea what it means by "indicates routine system activity subsequent to video initialization". Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I recently built a computer with these specs; And for some reason the computer will not post when the graphics card is installed! msi pro b660-a ddr4 Intel Core i5-12600k EVGA 650W power supply Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3200MHZ Samsung nvme 1TB SSD gtx 1050 ti I have tried everything under the sun, I've updated the bios, downgraded the bios (by clearing the CMOS), enabled and disabled integrated graphics running while dedicated graphics is attached, I've replaced the motherboard, cpu, and ram with the same parts. None of my pins are bent and everything is working perfectly until the GPU is installed... it will not even Post!!!!! (The fans spin but there is not display output, and no error light message on the motherboard) I've tried different gpus, and confirmed all the gpus I have tried work fine by installing them into different computers! I have ensured the gpus are attached correctly, with any connections from the PSU as needed. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friend and I built a PC the other day, I have built a few, but he is new. We completed the build, plugged it in and hooked it up to a monitor. I turned the power supply on and the motherboard RGB turned on. We then powered on the PC and the fans spun up. The motherboard manufacturer logo then appeared on screen then changed to another screen that showed the M.2 was being read and it had a message along the lines of "New CPU detected!" then it black screened and fans stopped. We tried hard resetting multiple times, each time checking different things - PSU connections, outlet we were plugged into, fan connections, and header connections. Each time we tried to boot back up, we could hear a click from the PSU but no fan spin up and no display output. Tried shorting pins and heard the same click with the same result. The mobo box states that it is ryzen 5000 series ready which is what we have so I don’t think it’s the bios. Any help is appreciated! I’ve never built a computer before so I feel like I’m missing something obvious but I’ve tried everything I could think of or find online. I’m at the part in building it (following the “How to build a PC, the last guide you'll ever need!”) where you test it outside of the case. The first time I powered it on it kind of worked a screen popped up that said something about two options for setting up the PC (I can’t remember exactly what it said) I didn’t really know what it meant so I turned it off and now every time I’ve powered it on everything appears to turn on but I get no signal on the monitor and The VGA light comes on on the motherboard. I have tried reseating everything I have unplugged and re-plugged in every cable, to me at least everything looks correct I checked several websites the parts should be compatible. Please help Parts: Msi b560m pro-e, aorus GeForce rtx 3060 ti, intel 10th gen core i7, aegis gskill 16gbx2

I just got a zotac 1080 ti blower off of ebay, and no matter what i do, it does not post (but the fan spins). im upgrading from a 1080, bc i found a good deal. the computer was working fine with the 1080, and it still works when i put the 1080 back in, so i know that it is a problem with the newer 1080 ti. ive tried all that is suggested, and i still get no post. (not even an error message) the onboard video still works with the 1080 ti plugged in, and it sends me to desktop as expected, but it does not detect any gpu. is it possible that i was scammed, or am i just an idiot? edit: i have also tried all ports, but to no avail my pc is running a i7 11700k, 32 gb of ram. psu is evga 850 g6 supernova motherboard is msi z590a-pro

Hi all, so yesterday I changed my case from a a pre built form alphasync (UK company) to a Corsair 4000D airflow also upgraded my PSU from a 650w modular to a Corsair CX750F. Connected everything back together on the new case and went to post. There was no post. The IO backplate lights are lit. If I connect something to USB it'll power it up (a USB light). And the Q-LED lights on the motherboard don't light uo or show anything. I thought maybe the power button was not working so I tried to jump it on the pins and still no post and no Q-LED lights light up to indicate issues. All pins connected 24pin and the 8 pin and also added the 4 pin too for cpu. Any ideas whats going on? Really need help please

motherboard: ASUS Z590 WIFI gundam edition Bios #811 CPU: i7-11700k GPU: GTX1660 gamming OC, top slot when installed RAM: GSKILL ripjawsV DDR4-2400 8Gx2 (F4-2400C15D-16GVR) or GSKILL ripjawsV DDR4-3200 16Gx2 (F4-3200C16D-32GVK) 2 M.2 ssds one in slot 1 and the other in slot 3 I am upgrading my computer with a the brand new motherboard and cpu mentioned above. I have not be able to get into the bios at all and have had no output. when I power on the system the fans, aio cooler, and rgb turn on but no output. I know the 3200 MHz ram isn,'t compatable and shouldn't post, but neither will the 2400 MHz ram. I have reseated the cpu, gpu, and ram multiple times, aswell as trying with no gpu. I have rest the cimos by shorting the pins and removing the battery. on start up the red CPU Q-LED flashes and orange-yellow Dram Q-LED turns on for 3-5 seconds then turns off I know the bios is outdated but would updating that fix the no post? and how do you update the bios when you cant get in ?
