The issue is that for some reason, my computer doesn't recognize my GPU inputs until I get into the BIOS, but my CPU doesn't have integrated graphics to get me there. To troubleshoot, my cousin let me borrow a different CPU that does have integrated graphics. After installing his CPU and resetting the CMOS, I simply went into the BIOS, changed nothing, hit 'Save & Exit,' then my GPU inputs started to get recognized. After that my computer boots and runs with no issues. All I had to do now was take out his CPU, put in my CPU, then it all works right? Well the issue is that I have to reset the CMOS every time I swap out the CPU, but whenever I reset it, I have to get into the BIOS once before my GPU inputs can be recognized. Now, I've seen plenty of videos online (including Linus') where peoples' GPU inputs are detected immediately, but for some reason mine don't. I know all of my hardware is functional because it all works when I change only the CPU, and when I use my own CPU the computer still turns on just with no display. I've tried doing research but I can't seem to find anything about this issue anywhere. Another thing is that I've had this issue before when I first built my pc about 4 months ago, but back then I guess I fluked to get it to work. My cousin was troubleshooting with me for about 5 hours one day, then the next day I tried using my GPU's HDMI input (which is something I already tried with no success) and it just worked. If there's anything you think I could do, please feel free to share. Here's a list of all my parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YqHfcb

This is a completely new rig and I have no idea what's causing the issue. Here it is: The GPU fans don't spin on start up, but once I turn it off the fans would suddenly spin for a second and then completely stop spinning. No display shows up. I think I have rooted out some issues: -At first I thought it was a power supply problem, but I bought a completely new PSU and the problem persists. So I'm guessing it's not a power problem. -I tried unplugging the PCIe power cords and then turned on the PC. The GPU's RGB lights were on. The fans were all working properly and the motherboard's RGB was also working; I'm guessing it's not a motherboard issue either. -I tried cleaning and then re-installing the RAM sticks. Didn't work. -I cleared CMOS and also removed the battery for 1.5 minutes. Didn't work. What I think is causing the problem: 1. CPU issue: I think I applied way too much force when I was trying to install the AMD AM4 cooler. You have to bend like two pins or something in order to make the whole tower secure, and I had to use a lot of force to install that and I think my CPU is dead because of it. When I was troubleshooting to check wether the CPU was damaged, I tried plugging in my monitor to the onboard display port. Nothing happened. 2. The GPU itself is not working. 3. BIOS issue: maybe I have to flash the BIOS? *My PC case doesn't come with that audio thing that beeps on start up, and it has been making my troubleshooting a lot more complicated*

I have an Athlon 3000G with an msi b450-m pro vdh Max Mobo..and an Antec 600w PSU. This system was running superb before! I recently installed a used GTX 1060 3gb amp core edition GPU and since then I'm having some issues like the screen suddenly goes black mostly but sometimes turns to random colours as well.. Sometimes game music will play in the background but the game is stopped working and mostly the programs running does stop function so no sound at all.. and it comes to live after like 15 minutes or so.. this is so much frequent and i couldn't figure what is wrong because the GPU i bought was in excellent condition.. i did cleaned and reapplied thermal paste and no problem with the temps My local disk C has 30 GB left but I don't think that should be any problem! The drivers are all upto date! GPU driver is 531.18 or something I disabled the Vega 3 from device manager as well. Still it happens! Someone please help!?

My newely build pc has been working fine without any issues before I decide to swap out the CPU cooler to an arctic liquid freezer ii 420 and add extension cables from Cablemod to give it a cleaner look. These are the only changes I've made, yet I get a "no display" message from my monitor. What could be the culprit here? Something I think is also worth mentioning is that my CPU has been undervolted in the BIOS.

Hello i am a newbie pc builder and i have built my new pc a month ago. The pc was stable and performed normally while gaming and office work. My pc temps under load were 60-70°C on gpu and 40-65°C on the cpu. Then out of nowhere while i was playing minecraft with shaders my pc stopped posting video signal but the pc was still running. Then ive tried to turn off the pc and turning it back on, fans light up and do spin. Even my gpu was lighting up but there wasnt any post and i am getting the vga debug light. Just the mouse and keyboard doesn't light up. My specs : gpu : Asus tuf gaming rtx 3060ti gddr6X cpu : intel core i7 11700KF ram : kingston fury beast rgb 16gb (2x8gb) motherboard : asus tuf gaming B560m PLUS WIFI Psu : corsair RM650x (2018)

Hello! I have a GT1030 that doesn't show any display, only fans spinning. No visual signs of damage. I can added pictures if that would help. What would be the best steps to try before trying to reheat in the oven(at least i have heard that works 1 out of 10 times). Thank you for your suggestions. I tried different pc's and both outputs hdmi and dvi. No luck.

I can't seem to find any information on this despite how hard I look. To sum it up, I originally made a post on Tom's Hardware and Reddit but received no replies. Here's the original Tom's Hardware post: Question - No signal to monitor after upgrading the GPU ? | Tom's Hardware Forum (tomshardware.com) Original post: So recently I upgraded my RTX 2060 to an RX 6800, however, upon booting up there was no signal to the monitor. The LEDs in the case turn on, the case fans spin, my AIO cooler turns on, and the RAM lights turn on as well. My power supply says it's only pulling 40 watts which is a significant concern. Here's the troubleshooting I've done: Reseated GPU and RAM Plugged in my old GPU Reconnected everything Tested my RX 6800 on an eGPU setup with my laptop (it works perfectly) Disconnected unnecessary components and tested (yielded the same result) Turned on the PC without a GPU and it still did the same thing Some things to note, the PC doesn't turn off after I power it on no matter how long I hold the power button. The onboard LED does not provide an error LED. The BIOS was updated recently to support the new Ryzen CPU. When I plugged in the new GPU, I did two additional things, plug in a new SATA cable to plug in all my drives because I left one unplugged to support my new AIO cooler, and reapplied thermal paste to my CPU. I currently am getting a replacement for the power supply if something somehow happened. I can provide a picture if needed. Here's an update to what I've done since the post: I got a replacement PSU and connected everything using the cables bundled with the PSU but received the same result Reseated the CPU, checked for bent pins or any debris (this shouldn't be the case since I hadn't done anything to the CPU) Tried with one stick of RAM Removed all boot drives Unplugged my AIO cooler Reset the CMOS and the CLRTC but nothing Here's what I've noticed about what happens when I flick the power supply on. The LED in the top left, the ASUS logo LED, flashes on then turns off immediately. If the CMOS is being reset than the BIOS setting should reset, meaning that the LED should now always be on when the PC is on or off. The LED remains off when I boot up the PC. USB devices, RAM, and cooler all turn on. The QLED on the motherboard do not light up at all, meaning that all components should be okay however not even the white LED is on, which is of concern because when booting up, all LEDs turn on in sequence then go to white, however, the LEDs do not turn on at all. Could the motherboard be faulty even though it was working perfectly fine before the upgrade? What are some other solutions?

So I built my computer about 3 weeks ago(specs below) and ever since I completed my build, I've had issues with black screens on boot up, I'd turn on my computer id get the boot screen for my mobo which is tuf gaming for a brief 3 seconds, my peripherals would light up my monitor responds(obviously) and then boom, black screen, my peripherals are no longer lit and nothing is responding, at that point i have to power off the pc by holding down the power button until it turns off and turning it back on again in hopes it boots to windows, it usually does the second to third time, now this isnt the only issue, I also get black screens if my computer is idle for a long time, if i leave my pc for a while and it goes to sleep, it often wont wake back up lmao, it just stops responding, I'll click my mouse and type on my keyboard and it just doesn't wake up, at that point i have to repeat the process from before, but it ain't over, I often get crashes in game after gaming for about an hour, this isnt consistent but happens occasionally, At first I thought it had something to do with my gpu and its poor drivers considering its a 5600 xt but I'm not sure thats the case because of the issues when booting up my pc, I'm beyond confused and I need some help. mobo: asus b450m pro gaming cpu: Amd ryzen 5 2600 gpu: Gigabyte 6gb gaming oc 5600 xt ram: G.Skill Ripjaws V series 16gb 2x8 ddr4 3600 psu: thermaltake smart 700 storage: kingston 225gb ssd edit: Im not sure if this has much to do with anything, but I also had a hard time setting my ram to its rated speeds in bios when I first built it, I was able to set it to 3600 speeds but when I did I'd get bsod in windows, constantly, so i had to leave it at 2600 i believe, which was default, and it stopped.

I've an i7 5930k in an ASUS Strix x99 gaming motherboard. I've had it overclocked for over a year at 4.1ghz with around 1.18v iirc. I recently tried over clocking it further playing around with clock speeds ranging from 4.2-4.5 and voltages from 1.1-1.3. I only tried 1.3 once and all the other attempts were below it. 4.5 at 1.3 didn't work and I got sent back to BIOS as per usual and kept trying different settings. I decided I'd gone it down and went to 4.3 at just less than 1.2v (on manual mode not offset or whatever it's called) and the computer turned on and then off quickly as it usually does when an OC fails. This time however, there was no display. I could not access the BIOS. I tried clearing CMOS using the pin method as well as removing the onboard battery overnight hoping it'd reset- it didn't work. I downloaded a BIOS update, renamed it according to my MOBO model and pressed the BIOS flashback button it flashed for minutes until it stopped which supposedly means it finished. Still nothing. The CPU_LED is always red and the error code on the MOBO is 00 for a split second and then it restarts. After that it just says cd and the red light remains. Is my CPU fried? What is there left to do? I'd really appreciate any advice as I've spent the past two days trying to fix it to no avail.

Hi, I'm trying to boot up an old pc, but to my dismay and much troubleshooting, it doesn't want to show any display. I've reseated the CMOS battery (display started working, but then stopped after the pc restarted). I then reseated the CMOS battery once again and the display never kicked on. I replaced the CMOS with another one, and like the other one, display turned on and then never came back on. Reseated again and doesn't want to show anymore. I have a keyboard and mouse connected and those are lighting up, but I'm just at a loss. Not sure what to do any longer to fix this problem. Specs include: Intel i3-2130 (Reseated already) x1 4GB DDR3 (I've reseated this aswell) Joshua-H61-uATX MOBO Intel HD Graphics 2000 1 TB HDD All help appreciated.

Dear friends, I apologize in advance if i make any mistakes or something obvious I am not that tech savvy. I have this old system I did not use anymore because the HDD died. I tried buying a new HDD, PSU and a GPU. I used to have a GTX 650 and now I bought a second hand ASUS GTX 780 Directcu ii. I know the GPU is working because I tested it out when bought it after benchmarks and I even tested a few games on it. I have a Asus P8H61-MX R2.0 as a motherboard with a Intel core Intel Core i5-3470 with 8 GB of ddr3 RAM and 1TB of HDD storage. Once I connected it to my motherboard the fans and the LED indicators were all working but I did not get anything on my display via an HDMI cable. I changed my PSU to a Cool Master 650W MWE WHITE. I deleted all drivers using DDU, updated bios and even tried tried installing the drivers via the Nvidia website using my old GTX 650. Nothing works. Tried connecting another display and different HDMI cable. I am starting to suspect that maybe my motherboard is incompatible with this GPU. Do you think I should try to get a new motherboard, I haven't tried with a DVI cable yet because I don't own one and I don't know if it is worth a try. Things I have tried already: - New PSU - DDU (display driver uninstaller in safe mode) - Bios update - Different HDMI cables - Different monitor - Putting in a different PC Things I haven't tried yet: - DVI cable - New motherboard: - More RAM My system: Asus P8H61-MX R2.0 Intel Core i5-3470 8 GB ddr Ram Cool Master 650W MWE WHITE 1 TB HDD Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Recently just got my new 2080ti and ryzen 9 2900x. My pld system was a 2070 and a ryzen 7 2700x. However i had an interval between the two where i used my old crappy radeon 570 and ryzen 5 cpu. My new 2080 ti has 100% fan speed on startup, and i know thats a power issue. However i have a 850 psu. More then the recommended amount (650). Please help. Other specs are vengeance 3200hz ram. 500 GB ssd, 8tb hdd.

so I was trying to make a new build for somebody, specs are ryzen 5 1600af, corsair vengeance lpx 3200 cl16 ram 16gb, asus b450m-a/csm, asus strix gtx 980. so I had this on a different motherboard originally, asrock b450m hdv rev 4.0, with that mobo with all the components except ssd in mobo and cpu power plugged in the fans would go on for a second then off and stays off, i switched it with the asus to see if it was the mobo, when turned on the lights and fans turn on and stay on and it seems like it is running but no display. another problem is the mobo uses 8pin cpu power and the psu only has 4pin, it is rated for 460w, the fans turned on with half the cpu power connected, is this normal to not even get bios? I hear there is a 4pin to 8pin adapter some say is just "band-aid solution", if that can work what would be downsides? although this psu has worked in the past could it be dead?

Hey guys, i recently just built my gaming pc but it does not give out a signal. When I first finished building it, it had no display whatsoever. And then after 30 minutes of tinkering it magically booted. Then it was all smooth until i had to restart my pc for a video driver update. After i shut it off, it stopped giving out a signal again and i couldn't make it work until now. I tried multiple solutions - Resetting the CMOS by removing the battery and fully draining the power (did this multiple times - Swapped positions on the RAM modules - Testing my power supply on my brothers pc (it worked on his) - Replugging the PSU connectors to my motherboard again I need help and I dont know what to do PC SPECS: Ryzen 5 2400G 16 GB Geil Evo X MSI B450M Pro Max Im also using the intergrated Vega 11 graphics from my CPU Note that the Fans and RGB everything is lighting up

Hi there. first off I will write down my specs: GPU = GTX 1060 6GB (ASUS) CPU = Ryzen 5 2600 RAM = 2x8 DDR4 Motherboard = MSI X470 gaming plus Primary monitor = AOC 2460G4 Second monitor = BenQ GL2460-B I'm having a very weird problem with my PC. When I connect my primary monitor to the GPU with a displayport, it shows up, but if I disconnect the primary monitor and connect my second monitor with DVI, it also shows up, but if i connect both of them at the same time, only my primary works and the second displays "No signal". If i go into Nvidia control panel and try to search for any signals, it doesn't find anything. If I turn off my PC and connect both of the monitors. The second monitor starts up and shows the startup screen for MSI, but when it gets to the login, the primary turns on and the second turns off and says "No signal". If I the PC is ON and "only" the primary monitor is connected and if I then connect the second monitor, both of them turns OFF. I tried with a different monitor that had HDMI, but it wouldn't show anything, but I could see that it was connected, but didn't display anything. I've had this setup for like 2 years. I was at a friends house where we played PC and I only had my primary monitor and my PC with me, but when I got home and connected everything back I got this problem. I have tried to take out the GPU and put it back in but nothing changed. (Power was discharged and the white LED on the GPU was OFF) I've tried a different power cable to the GPU. I think it has something to do with the GPU but I hope, I can find a solution to the problem. BTW it runs fine with only 1 monitor with no lag and without any problems.

So today i bought an I5 3470 took it home replaced it with my old cpu applied thermal paste and then put a cooler on top, but this was my first time changing a cpu so it was a bit messy (and what i mean is that cooler slided around couple of times because it has screwes on the corners so it wasnt so easy) , but i still managed to put it together and thats when i pressed the power button and nothing happened, the cpu coolers and all the fans were spinning but i had no display at all not even the mouse or the keyboard was lighting up, then i switched to the old cpu G620 (i tried this twice) but everything was fine. ill be really sad to find out that i damaged it cuz i was saving up money for it for a while but yeah help pls <3

Hey all, I had just built a new PC and upon finishing assembling it, I can't seem to be getting any display signal from the GPU nor the iGPU. I am using a HDMI 2 cable that i had also purchased brand new. I have checked every possible loose ends such as misplacement of RAM, loose cable pins, resetting CMOS battery, resitting the CPU, GPU and 24 pin cables but to no avail I still am not getting any display signal on my monitor. I've tried this HDMI cable with my laptop and it works so I am assuming it is a problem with one of the components inside the pc and not the cable. What could be causing this problem? My PC specs: - i5-9600K paired with Corsair H100i - AsRock Z390 Steel Legend Mobo - RTX 2060 Super - 16GB 3200Mhz RAM - 800W Cougar Fully Modular PSU

While gaming I hit my desk kinda hard because of a death and it make my computer rock a little. Not much considering the case I have is kinda top heavy and it only went back a fourth maybe 3 or 4 times. Whatever it was though was enough and it shut off right away. Now it turns on and the fans will spin up but there is no display output. Also it seems like there's a buzz now coming from the motherboard. It sounds kinda like graphics card coil whine but it's a steady sound. Things I've tried: - Clearing the CMOS like a dozen times. Basically every time I've tired something I'll clear the CMOS after it didn't work. - Booting with no graphics card and the monitor plugged into Mobo - Booting with one ram stick, then the other, then trying them in the other slots and finally no ram - Reseating CPU The same issue happened before, where I'd get the fans to spin and the LEDs to light up but no display siginal, after Riot's Valorant anti cheat Vanguard blocked my CPU temp monitoring software driver which made my PC overheat and crash. I waited a couple of hours and it didn't cool down didn't post after a CMOS clear so I went to bed and when I went back to it the next morning it booted totally fine. Specs: ASUS Strix z370-i 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB 3200MHz 8700k has been delided Asus Strix GTX1070 Thanks for any suggestions cuz I'm kinda lost right now. I think this may be a dying Mobo which would stink but I don't have anything else to try really.

My gpu isnt displaying anything to my monitor. I have bought a dvi-dvi cable, a new vga, hdmi cable. NOTHING WORKS!. Im currently writing this using the vga to my motherboard and not the gpu. The vga from the monitor is on the motherboard. I have the DVI cable just hanging there in the gpu, and i keep switching between VGA - DVI input and only VGA works. My monitor is U2311Hb Dell. Gpu is Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050. CPU = Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600CPU @3.40ghz (8 CPUs), ~3.4hz please help me, i've been suffering for a week! It also says "Power Save Mode" once i change the input to the GPU (currently my dvi is connected to the gpu but i've tried hdmi before and it still says power save mode) It might just be my faulty GPU.

Hi! So the problem is a very strange one. My pc was working fine until I swapped the gpu for a Sapphire rx580 8gb Nitro + The issue seem to be on the very first boot after beeing off for a while (8 hours maybe) and when I turn it on, the pc posts (the mobo speaker beeps once), the keyboard and mouse lights up but there is no display on both monitors. No leds on the motherboard ez debug light up. If I shut down the pc and boot it back up, it boots up fine with both displays on. Other than that, the pc works 100% fine. The specs Intel Core i7 6700 3.4GHz 8MB Sapphire rx 580 8gb nitro + Special edittion 2x 8GB DDR4 2133MHz CL15 RAM Samsung SSD 250GB Sata3 850EVO Toshiba 1TB 7200Rpm 32MB MSI B150M PRO VHD Aerocool KCAS 800W 80plus Bonze What I have tried - fresh install of windows with latest drivers - updated the motherboard bios to the latest available - flashed the stock gpu bios - tried to reset the gpu, ram and cpu, along with all power cables - cleard CMOS I`m all out of ideas. I think the problem maybe the gpu but it works fine besides this. No frame drops, freezes, artifacts... I can make a simple video showing the issue tomorrow if that would help! Thank you!

I built this PC about a month and a half ago and have had no problems thus far. Specs: AMD Ryzen 3900x, RTX 2080 Super, MSI MPG x570 Pro Carbon Gaming Wifi mobo, Corsair vengeance 16GB DDR4 3600 RAM, Corsair H100i AIO liquid CPU cooler, SeaSonic Focus Plus Gold 850 W PSU, Western Digital Blue 1 TB m.2 NVME ssd, runs Windows 10 x64 Note: whenever my computer boots up normally, the cpu light goes red, and the fans spin fast, then the light goes off and the fans return to normal speed I was on Discord talking with a friend when, suddenly, the display cut off, and the computer, which was still on, did the same thing it does when it boots up (red light, fast fans, then back to normal). Then, the MSI logo came up, and then the screen cut off again. The boot up thing happened again, the msi logo came up again, and then the screen displayed "updating" for the MSI bios I believe, went from 0 to 100%, and then the screen cut off again. From there, the computer stayed on and continuously looped the red light, fast fans, back to normal boot up sequence without ever sending a display signal. I turned the computer off and back on. From there, it acted normally for a good couple minutes (I got back onto Discord), then the display cut off again. It then entered back into that boot sequence loop for a while until eventually the loop stopped and the computer just sat there, rgb flashing, fans spinning, just like normal, but idle, never sending any display signal to the monitor or signal to the keyboard. I cleared the CMOS, and after that, it now only does the bootup sequence once upon startup, like normal, but the computer has still yet to send any signal to the display or the keyboard, meaning I can't pull up the bios. Some help would be extraordinarily appreciated. Thanks.
