Hello Guys, the problem and the given situation are a bit complex so i try my best to explain everything so maybe someone can help me. If anything is unclear or not understandable (grammar, wording, etc.) please ask. English is not my native language. PC Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @4.2 GHz 1st GPU: Zotac GTX 1080 ti AMP! Edition 2nd GPU: Zotac GT 710 Motherboard: MSI X470 Gaming Pro Max Memory: 2 x 8GB Patriot Viper DDR4 3600 MHz CL16 Software / Driver: Windows 10 2004 up to date (28th of June 2020) Nvidia 451.48 Game ready driver Monitors: 1. Acer XF270HU 2560x1440 144Hz 27" Freesync --> connected to GTX 1080 Ti 2. Dell 1908FP 1280x1024 75Hz 19" --> connected to GT 710 3, Dell 1907FP 1280x1024 75Hz 19" --> connected to GT 710 4. Dell U2212HM 1920x1080 60Hz 22" --> connected to GTX 1080 Ti 5. HP ZR24w 1920x1200 60Hz 24" --> connected to GT 710 The Issue: No matter what program i try to run on the monitors that are connected to the second gpu will stutter. If i try to playback a video (Plex, Netflix, YouTube, Twitch, local, etc.) it will be played back with a very low and unstable framerate (looks like 5-20 fps with freezes every other second) If i try to browse the web with no matter what browser (tested Brave, Chrome, Firefox, Edge) the websites will lag aswell so i would say it's not an issue that's depending on video playback. As far as my understanding goes the program is rendered on the systems most powerful gpu (which should be the 1080 Ti in my case... sorry for the pun) so i don't see why the programs are having bad performance. The same programs run without any issue on the two monitors that are connected to the 1080 Ti so it's not really an rendering issue either i would say. Things i tried: Uninstalling Nvidia Drivers with DDU, installing drivers again --> no effect Switched Driver-Mode from "Game-Ready" to "Studio" within GF Experience--> no effect Tried out the Developer drivers (before they went public for everyone (speaking of Nvidia 451.22) --> no effect Updated from Windows 10 1909 to Windows 10 2004. --> no effect Switching up monitor connections between the two GPUs (plugging the DVI Cable out of the GT 710 and into the GTX 1080 Ti and the issue was gone) Checking my temps --> Max 80C° on the 1080 Ti, 65C° on the 710. Enabling planned GPU Acceleration (the original reason why i updated that early to Windows 10 2004) I tried playing around with the Settings in Windows where you can choose which GPU is used to run programs, it always and only shows the GTX 1080 Ti as an option. My Goal: I just want to use the GT 710 as an adapter to be able to use more monitors. All the rendering / heavy part should be done by the GTX 1080 Ti. I just want to get rid of the lags, the stuttering and the freezes. I hope that someone maybe is able to help me or has similar experiences with that issue. Thanks

Hi LTT forum! OS:Win10 CPU:4930k (stock) RAM:16GB (dual channel unfortunately) Mobo:Asus P9X79 Pro GPU: Asus Strix 1080 ti (stock) SSD: 1TB Kingston PSU: 850W BeQuiet Monitor 1: Benq Zowie XL250-B Monitor 2,3: Benq Zowie XL2430 All but monitors, SSD, GPU are almost 7 years old. Monitor 1 is hooked up with Display Port and runs 240hz fine. Monitor 2 is also using DisplayPost and runs its 144hz fine. Monitor 3 is only using an old HDMI cable atm so is limited to 60hz which for now works. My issue is when even playing World of Warcraft Classic my main monitor will go blank for 3-4 seconds. This is easily repeatable using Furmark. "Preset:1080" and will cause multiple black screens for the same 3-4 seconds. I just ran the test. Fan speed 34%. First Black Screen 1/4 the way through at 62 degrees C. Temp levelled out at 65. 5 total black screen occurrences. Since having this issue I've had one occasion where all the fans not spinning on the GPU. The card still ran but I noticed instability and I quickly adjusted the fan curve in MSI Afterburner. I imagine this is the most likely cause of my issue. But its interesting this happened after the initial symptoms. When unplugging one of the monitors to only use 2 monitors, there is no blank screen when running Furmark. When I test again with my other DVI-D 1440p monitor it still goes blank at 3 monitors. What I've tried so far: Different configuration of monitors. Setting other monitors as Primary Monitor in Nvidia Control Panel Lowering the Refresh Rates of all monitors Unplugging all unnecessary internal drives and external connections Updating drivers with a clean update via Geforce Experience custom install option I reinstalled Windows a few weeks ago due to this issue and that didn't fix it I originally upgraded my monitors because I was having the same issue with the same 240hz main monitor, a 60hz 1400p DVI-D second and a Display Port to DVI-D 1080p TV. Hoping that the conversion cable from DP to DVI was causing it or something. The only constant is the PC and the 240hz monitor. I understand the Furmark is putting stress on the GPU but playing WOW Classic on the (Classic) old school graphics settings still triggers the Blank Screen in busy environments. I've searched on and off for months and I don't have any new ideas. I did buy the GPU used but it was from a friend of a friend who didnt OC it and I've not done much OCing nor has it been OCed for long. My PSU has had a rough life. Once or twice I've had instability and the fan wasnt spinning (it has no fanless mode) and poking the fan with a pencil sent the fan to spin at max for a few minutes as it cooled down. But removing all nonessential drives and devices I thought could help reduce PSU load. Thanks in advance

I have been using a MacBook now since 2012, and have made the decision to get back onto the windows OS. I have never built my own machine but am very excited to do so. I have $1,000 USD to spend on this, also will be able to get windows 10 on campus for free. I use photoshop often and have been using visual studio a lot lately for class. I don’t want to spend more than I need on the computer itself( buy an additional 27” monitor) . I would like to run at least two monitors. The issue I am having is decided if an i5 will be good enough or do I spend more for the i7. Also have been looking into many GPU’s simply to run 2 - 3 monitors at 1080. I do not plan on doing much gaming. There are so many GPU’s I am so confused on what to choose I have : windows 10 OS, Mouse, Keyboard, one 27” monitor, one 19” monitor Thanks for any help

I run 5 monitors, 3 wide screens on the botom and 2 3x4 on top. I used to have 2 gpu's in my system, 1 R9 290x for my 3 main displays, and a separate nvidia GT210 for my 2 screens on top. This worked fine but linux doesnt really like mixed GPU's so I switched my GT210 out for a HD6670. Amd + Amd seems like it should be easier, and under linux it is, but my windows doesn't like it. Because the most recent AMD driver for my 290x doesn't support the HD6670. So I can run everything on an old catalyst driver from 2015, but I'd rather not. But I cant get the 2015 driver to work for my HD6670 without it also changing it for my 290x. Does any of you have experience with running multiple AMD drivers for different cards?

I would like to know what you guys use your second monitor for? Is it the same size/resolution as your main? Is it tilted? If you would prefer, provide an image with a typical look.

So right now my specs are - Threadripper 1950x - GTX 1080ti - 32GB Ram - MSI X399 Gaming Pro Carbon AC - 850w I have an Acer Predator x34 (1440p ultrawide up to 100hz) i was thinking about getting another 2 monitors for a multi monitor setup either 2 ultrawide 1080p or just 2 normal 16:9 1080p not sure if there is enough space on desk for another 2 ultrawides so might just get 2 16:9 a single 1080ti doesnt seem to be enough power to run some games at a constant 100fps at 3440x1440 so getting another 2 screens would definately be way too much for 1 card so ive only read that sli for these cards are not linear (finally the question) but would having an extra card be able to provide enough power to run all monitors smoothly?

Hi, So i have the on-board Intel HD 4600 as well as Nvidia GTX 660, and 3 monitors; 1x 1920x1080 22' and 2x 1366x768 (13"?) My current set up is plugging only the 1080p into my Nvidia card and then both the 768s into the Intel card. It all runs fine, but i the monitors on the Intel are differently coloured to the Nvidia on (not that much of a problem). My question is, does it increase performance to do it like this, or will it slow it down? I only game on the 1080p one and use the others for teamspeak, console etc. I just wanted to know, because as my pc is getting old, the cpu is getting really hot, and could possibly be due to the extra load from the 2 other monitors. Thank you in advance

According to the AMD website, an R7 370 can be used in conjunction with the MST displayport hub to turn one displayport output into three. 2 Can be used on one GPU to split 2 displayport outputs into a maximum of 6 displays. If I had two of these GPUs, could I split to twelve displays on one PC?

I am planning to purchase either a GTX 980Ti or GTX 1080. My main concern is: Can a single card handle 5x 1080p monitors? The 5x monitor setup is not intended for gaming, but I plan to game on this pc too with only one monitor and/or an htc vive. By day, I will use the PC in a small home office, with 5 users, each with his own monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Mostly for clerical jobs, but one of them needs to render 3D projects very often. By night, I will use the PC for gaming. Thanks for any insight.

Hi Guys, My GTX760 got put on the ropes by running 3 screens. I have 3 screens connected, 2 screens running 1920x1080 in duplicate and one screen running 1440x900 just for browsing, mails and videos. I am looking to buy a GTX1060 but I don't want to fork out that money for that card if it cannot be done. Anyone got some experience here on this particular card? Any feedback is appreciated

Hello All, I will be helping design video editing stations for an upcoming class next year in the high school that I go to. I assume and we seem to have agreed that we will be shooting and editing in 4K. We have a significant amount of money to spend (I was hoping around $2000) on monitors for each station. I was primarily looking at one 4K monitor and 2 1440p ones, but the person from our tech dept. thought that we shouldn't get the 2 1440p ones due to cost. I was primarily looking at the Dell UP3216Q for our 4K monitor due to it being Dell's only 4K monitor with 10-bit color. For 1440p ones, I was looking at the U2515H. I have multiple questions: Is a 4K monitor necessary/good to have if you are editing 4K videos? Is offset between monitors of different sizes a problem, and if it is how can it be avoided? (difference in screen resolution causing the "edges" of the screens to not line up) Is 1 32 inch monitor large enough to edit efficiently? Would it be worth getting 1080p monitors instead of 1440p ones to save some money? Would 21:9 be a better aspect ratio than 16:9 for video editing? How can we layout monitor(s) for aesthetics and ease of use? Any other general recommendations for the design of our editing stations that you may have is also very welcome. Note: The people who I'm working with (who are staff) think that students will be editing in small groups (~5). How might that change the requirements/recommendations for monitors and layout?

Hello I'm just asking if anyone of you knows a setting or piece of software that allows you to display the taskbar icons like the clock on all monitors. Since gaming makes the main monitor go fullscreen, I cant look at the clock or other taskbar icons while doing so. Thanks!

Hi,Recently I purchased a new Dell 27" 4K monitor and upgraded my machine from win 8.1 to win 10 in order to get better support for higher DPI for my multi monitor rig. Here are when the problems started:1. the main problem is that with the main monitor (Dell 27") set to 175% scale (looks good) the two other monitors are set to 100% scaling - (icons/text looks giant - basically almost unusable). If I set the scaling to a lower setting (on the 4K monitor - say 100%) I can't read the text or see the icons as they are so small (basically the two other monitors use 100% all the time which I can't set any lower - and everything still looks way too big). 2. When the monitors goes to sleep things get massed up - icons on the main monitor turn tiny and open tabs on the main monitor move to the one of the other monitors for no reason. Reading about this I understand that this has something to do with the monitor being connected through DP - but I have no choice- to get 4K @60p I have to connect the monitor through DP.My system: Intel 5820k - 6 core + Asus X99, 32GB ram. Asus GTX970. latest nvidia drivers.Displays: 1. 27" Dell P2715Q 4K - main (connected using DP).2. 24" Dell 2407DFPHC 1920x1200 (connected using DVI).3. 23" LG 1680x1050 (connected using HDMI).I talked to MS and the representative (who had really poor English and I am not sure knew what he was talking about) said that the only way this will work is if I connect the 2 lower res displays to a second GPU. I have a few but they are old GT210 is the newest (I have 8800GT which is super old). I tried to connect the GT210 but it is not recognized by win 10 and I can't seem to install it along with the 970GTX (nvidia driver issues due to different generation cards) to see if it will work or not (buying something newer say GTX950 just for the very low chance that it will help seems kind of silly isn't it?).Ideas on what I can do?Iddo

Hey there guys! I have a bit of a question that I can't seem to find a clear cut answer anywhere else, so I decided to come to the best forum I know. So I have a gaming laptop/college computer (ASUS ROG G771), and it has an HDMI output, along with Mini DisplayPort, and I am trying to connect a HDMI TV, along with a Monitor that is VGA. I am looking for a Mini DisplayPort to VGA, but first I want to know if I can even do it. This is to give me 3 screens (1 Laptop, 2 External), but I'm not sure if the Intel HD 4600 Graphics support both the HDMI port and Mini Display Port both being used at the same time. Also, I am not sure if I need an 'Active' Mini DisplayPort or just a regular one. If anyone can share any insight, I would like to know.

i was wondering, as VRAM does not stack up in SLI can i put three graphic cards and connect one monitor to each of them and not connect them in SLI, will i get the VRAM of all three of them and will it be better than a SLI setup as far as VRAM is considered?

Need help with multi monitor setup. ATM I am using a crappy dell 1366x768 monitor with a salvaged lenovo 1280x1024 as secondary. I have to dell plugged into my graphics card with vga through a dvi to vga adapter. The lenovo one is plugged in through vga with a displayport to vga adapter. I have an identical lenovo monitor lying around and I want to upgrade the dell monitor to a AOC I2260SWD IPS monitor I found on PC Case Gear for $140 AU. I am planning to have the AOC monitor as my main and the lenovo monitors either side. I could run the AOC with dvi, one lenovo with a DP to vga adapter, and the other lenovo with a HDMI to vga adapter. I want to have them in extended desktop mode and hopefully use AMD eyefinity in games. I have all of the cables and adapters but I want to check if it will work before buying the monitor. I live in NSW Australia (quite a remote area so shipping is expensive) System Specs: Mobo - MSI B85-G43 gaming CPU - Intel Pentium g3254 @ 4.2Ghz GPU - MSI R9 270x 2gb gaming RAM - 2x 4gb G.Skill Sniper (dual channel) PSU - Silverstone Strider Essential Storage - Salvaged HDDs OS - Windows 10 pro

Hi, I just build my first PC. Everything seems to work great, except my one monitor. I have a dual monitor setup 2 AOC i2369v, my primary monitor is connected with display port, the other with hdmi. The first monitor (connected with display port) randomly stops working, like it doesn't detect the signal any more. The pc still thinks the monitor is connected. When i then shut off the monitor everything from the primary monitor moves to the secondary one (connected with hdmi), when i then turn the monitor back on it works again, until this process repeats. PS.: i'm running windows 10. Can someone help me with this problem. I tried to google it but didn't find this specific problem.

Hello everyone, Just wondering if there was a way to connect two monitors to one HDMI port and have them be separate screens. I know that there are splitters that can duplicate one screen on two monitors, but is there anyway that i could get something else to connect and extend the monitors for a 3 monitor setup? i was told about the Matox eXpansion Modules, but dont know if the integrated graphics would be able to handle it. (and its fairly eXpensive {Kappa} i might as well save up the $200 USD for a rig) http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/dh2go/digital_se/ I have a Dell Latitude E7440 that runs on Intel HD 4400 Graphics, and the Monitors in question are two Samsung SyncMaster 730Bs (my employer upgraded his monitors and let me have these). I don't plan on using the SyncMasters for gaming, I will play games on the built-in monitor of the laptop. Just wondering if there would be anyway to do so, and so i don't have a useless monitor waiting to be used. Thanks for replying with your input if you did. <3

So i have this dilemma while trying to pick monitors for a future multimonitor setup. I currently have one benq xl2420z, which is amazing for fps games(mainly playing cs:go). But thats about where it ends, the color reproduction is awfull, and it kind off makes many otherwise beautifull games look dull and less realistic, titles like;Watch dogs, Tomb raider, Hitman: absolution, and with many new games coming out; Fallout 4, just cause 3, need for speed rebooted etc. I have also considered just buying 3 new monitors with better color reproduction. to enjoy the games listed above better. Should i opt to buy either one or two more of the benq xl2420z monitors and have a cool 3D surround setup(with bad colors), or go with 3 new, better looking panels i can use for every non-fps game i want to enjoy.

hello, I am about to purchase a few monitors (saving up for a few $100-200 monitors, perhaps from dell, as it matches my laptop and a few of their monitors have very thin bezels) and I am curious how much of a performance hit my system will take. I know driving that many pixels is harder, but how much harder? Current specs of PC -5820k at 4.2 ghz -dual EVGA 780 SC (with a minor overclock) they are both 3 GB cards -16 gb of ddr4 -250 Gb ssd -1tb hard drive and my current display is an old (7+ year old) 52 inch samsung LCD TV (which will be the 4th monitor, as my PC is a home theater PC, I have a desk right next to it which will have the monitors on it) I generally intend to play games on one of the monitors at a time, with only a few games that i would run on all 3. I am just wondering if anyone has a similar set up, and if you might have a guess as to what i should expect. Thank you for reading, and thanks for your replies as well P.S. I am aware that one GTX 980 would generally run better, but im on a budget currently, and I got both my cards for around $400 (total for both of them) But in games that support SLI two 780's is better anyway...so...trade-offs.

So currently I have 8 monitors (Dell U2312hm - 1080p monitors) that I have hooked up to 2 AMD Sapphire Tri-X 290s. However nowadays my room gets too hot to carry on. In case you're wondering I'm using these monitors for currency trading and a little bit of gaming (Mass Effect 3, Skyrim, Tomb Raider, Command and Conquer 3 and lots of little games) Can anyone suggest me a graphics card(s) for 8 monitors. I'm willing to replace both of them but I don't want water cooling and I want the noise kept as low as possible, AMD or Nvidia is fine. I am going to replace these with 4k monitors in 2017 or so before anyone suggests it. Current Specs are as follows Intel 3770K Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe Corsair 32GB DDR3 1600Mhz Ram 2x AMD Sapphire Tri-X 290 2x 500GB Samsung 850 EVO Corsair 900D Corsair AX1200i 8x Dell U2312hm

Hi, Im planing on building a new rig and i had a question about Multi monitor support on the r9 290 and gtx 770. what i know (please correct me if im wrong): Hdmi/DVI/VGA are legacy connections and i can only use so many with either card. if i want to use display port i will need an active display port adapter to convert it to a legacy connection My question: I have 4 displays. 3 identical hp la2405wg monitors (each has display port) and 1 TCL HD tv 1920x1080 60Hz (model known) can i connect all of them in at the same time like Dvi >>> to monitor 1 Dvi >>> to monitor 2 Displayport >>>> monitor 3 Hdmi >>>> to my HDTV so which graphics card will work without any display port adapter

I have a setup where my PC is connected to my Monitor on my desk and my TV behind me so I can turn around and play games with a controller or sit somewhere else in the room. I've tried restarting the TV and the PC but it just refuses to detect the display. Please help
