I want to buy a keyboard for my Dad. he works in his office all day and uses a mac. I'd like to get him a mechanical keyboard similar to the experience of the ibm ones because he always tells me when he hears my mx blue switches when i type it reminds of him of the ibm ones. He wont want anything flashy with light or anything just minimalistic and i dont know what switch type or what switch to get for him that is similar to the ibm ones. Thanks for anyone the replies and helps me!

Hi, I'm looking for a canadian french mechanical keyboard. As far as I can see, there only seems to be English from the major vendors (logitech, corsair, razer, steelseries). I would like to avoid having to build a keyboard on my own or replace the caps. I would be looking for silent switches (avoiding green or blue ones) Do you have any recommendations ? Thanks in advance

So I just received the greatest gift ever, a Corsair Strafe mk2 with Cherry Mx red switches. I plugged it in and quickly realized the N key was ultra sensitive and would infinitely repeat upon triggering. Simply blowing on this keycap would trigger infinite N's. In all my research I see the general consensus is that dirt or some other particles get in the switch, but mine was fresh out of the sealed box. I'm not too sure what the exact issue is but I've already tried isopropyl alcohol and qtips. All of this is especially puzzling because out of my 4 mechs, this is the most expensive and the only one with genuine Cherry mx. Anything that could help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, For the past while I've been having issues with some of the keys on my keyboard's keys. Keys like e, d, left, a, s, and a few more have issues. For example, sometimes when I press "e," it'll send "eee" instead (e.g. "I'm reeeally excitteed). I've even gone to the measures of taking out all the keys and airing it, vacuuming it, and wiping it down. All of which haven't worked. Should I just buy a new keyboard or is it possible something external is causing it? I do have AutoHotKey, but the only time it uses the keys on my keyboard is to set keybindings for the scripts. I don't have macros set or any other programs similar to AutoHotKey. My keyboard is a Corsair K68 RGB. Thanks for any help.

I am very happy with my Ducky keyboard. But ever since I installed the software from the Ducky website i've been having some issues with it. The brightness isn't as bright as it used to be and the FN keys don't light up/ flicker when I press it. I have tried pressing the fn+up key to adjust the brightness but nothing really works. I hope someone can help me out with this issue Thanks

Lately more and more MKB start using Gateron even till the point some doesn't have the choice of Cherry MX , like Glorious MKB. They are either Kailh or Gateron. As I know more and more people starting to favor Gateron because it's cheaper for one. Secondly people like then because how it " feels " better than Cherry MX. But in reality, I've seen some really negative feedbacks from Gateron as well. As how they aren't equally created, some keys may make a different sound or even sounded noisy over a other. The Stems are lot cheaper, than Cherry MX, it wobbles. Durability isn't so good either I heard. Matter of fact I remember seeing Varmilo had Gateron switches, if you do pick Gateron warranty is not provided. But all these are experience of someone mentioned on the internet it could be entirely false or a minor case only happened to few unlucky people ? I would like to hear the opinion of any long term users. What's your experience like ? I'm most worry is the quality of the switches not how it " feels ".

According to this Dutch hardware news site; https://nl.hardware.info/nieuws/amp/65327/wooting-introduceert-analoge-lekker-switch---lekker-typen?__twitter_impression=true Traveldistance of 4 mm with a sencedistance of 0,1 mm to 3,8 mm. They are going to be hot-swappable and they need no mechanical connection because it is using magnets. This technology is called the 'Hall effect'. The name of the switch will be "Lekker" which translates to "Nice /tasty /yummy". Edit: Wooting also has a blog about this: https://blog.wooting.nl/what-are-hall-effect-keyboard-switches/

Hello all, I wanted to ask you guys for opinion if it is worth to get a mechanical keyborad. All the time I have been using a membrane keyboard and never saw a draw back (of course I cannot compare since I newer had a mechanical keyboard). Right now I am thinking of changing my old cheap keyboard which still works fine but is now just very worn off. I want to buy something more fancy than a 5Euro keyboard. So I mainly use the keyboard to type texts sometimes a bit to game and the keyboard need to have num pad buttons (no keyless variants would sufice). But most importantly I hate a very loud keyboard. Out of everything I looked I was able to find that Cherry MX browns are not as loud and found this keyboard HyperX Alloy FPS with Brown switched that costs about 79 Euros. I also found Razer BlackWidow with green switches for 95 Euros that looks way more clean and I would prefer that one over the HyperX but I am unsure about the sound of switches. On the other hand I was able to find membrane ones that look clean or even the same Razer Cynosa for 50 Euros altho I think it is a bit too expensive for a membrane one. Could you maybe help me guys to choose if I should go with mechanical one or not. If I would go with it I would probably try to customize the keyboard down the road so would be nice to know which would be better suited for that too.

I know a decent amount about mechanical keyboard switches, but I need some help. I have a K70 mk1 with Cherry MX Reds. I can't stand typing on it anymore but I can't return it because I purchased it awhile ago. I'm looking to purchase new switches so that I can desolder the current switches and put in new ones. What kind of switches will fit and will all switches work with the iCue software? I was looking at the Kailh Box Royal switches from NovelKeys but their page says that only work with SMD lighting. What does that mean and are they compatible with the K70 pcb?

I am planning to get my first mechanical keyboard, simply because I enjoy their feeling and versatility. However many of the top keyboards are expensive, with some reaching prices close to $200. I understand that these keyboards offer certain features not found altogether in cheaper alternatives, but I am not about to drop that amount of money on a peripheral like a keyboard. Could anybody recommend any keyboards preferably in a price range around 80$ that offers good quality? If anything, I would like the key caps not to have a very loud font and would rather have blue or white LED(s). As for the switches, I personally enjoy the loud nature of blue switches, however red switches are also very comfortable to type with. There are also switches that imitate them (such as Razer greens and Logitech Romer-G) which I am fine with as long as the brand is reputable and offers a similar experience. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Some of the ones that I am considering currently are the Blackwidow X Tournament Edition, Corsair K63, and Drevo Calibur. If anyone has experience with any of those keyboards, let me know about it.

Ok so I’ve been looking for so long for a 1.5u r5 keycap as I have the ajazz ak33 and it has a kind of odd layout (a very nice layout but odd) and I’ve wanted custom keycaps fornit since I got it (over a year now) but it’s SO HARD TO DIND ANY i just bought some white letter keys on AliExpress but I want one of those resin artisan keycaps that I see everywhere. Like a white snow looking one. But I just can’t find any at all. And the worst part is that I’m a little broke at the moment and don’t want to spend like $60 Aud on a keycap when I could just buy the white version of the same keybaod I have and swap out some keys (yes it wouldn’t be the resin one but it would still be different) (I takeno credit for the photo provided, I found it online on Massdrop from someone who has the same problem as me)

So for a while, I've been playing and typing with a Rosewill Apollo with a red backlight and clicky tactile switches. So I ran across an ASMR video where the ASMRtist was typing on a few different keyboards, and the Razer Ornata Chroma was one of them. I fell in love with the sound, but I'm wondering if there is a mechanical equivalent in sound. RGB is a bonus, because I'm trying an Orange AORUS theme in my rig. I'll take any suggestions. And if anyone owns the keyboard they recommend, I'd love to get an audio clip of some typing on the switches. Thanks in advance!

Well, I'm about to introduce myself in the PC gaming world, the thing is I'm looking for some peripherals so that I can use, well, I'm looking for ones that preferably have rgb sync and most suitable for FPS like CS or Halo and TPS like The Division or PUBG, also sometimes RPGs like Anthem So, for starters, some headphones wouldn't be bad, so I'm stuck between the Corsair Void Pro, the Razer , HyperX Clould Revolver, the Logitechg G533 and the Steelseries Arctics Pro For choosing a keyboard, I'm thinking about a Razer Huntsman Elite, the Logitech G533, if not a Corsair K70 mk2 mx silent or an K95 Platinum mx speed, a HyperX Alloy Elite and some Dell aw728 For mice a good idea'd be the G502, or the wired PRO mouse, the Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2, the Rival 600,the Pulsefire FPS Pro or the M65 RGB Elite Tunable or the wired Dark CORE SE Performance Sooo. Anyone who'd help me? :'D

mechanical keyboard Nubwo X-lution x 21 keyboard review
21starsinthesky posted a topic in Member Reviews
The Nubwo X-lution X 21 mechanical keyboard is a keyboard for a low price at the moment in Thailand (which is the only place I know that you can get hold on this keyboard) is 1090 tbh which is 34.54 usd. The packaging feels premium and it looks like they cared enough to make it look good. Upon opening the box you get : The keyboard itself, a key cap removal tool, two stickers, warranty info and a manual. The keyboard itself is a 104 key and has a slot for the key cap removal tool with 3 cable managements runs. The key caps are double shot and you have a total of 16 fn keys and you have separate Thai printing. The mechanical switches themselves are either Outemu bules or browns. I have the blue switches because I love the nice high pitched click along with the tactile bump. The switch stem is compatible with all cherry compatible key caps. They are dummy switch stabilised which allows for simple key cap swaps. The key caps are a bit wobbly but most of the time they retain their position. This keyboard doesn't come with an awful lot of lighting features but they are plentiful enough to fill my needs and they are all decent but my favourite has to be the one where when a key is pressed there is a kind of explosion of light it is very mesmerising. Overall it is a great keyboard for the people who are willing to buy it and feel like it is definitely worth the money especially considering other keyboards like this can cost quite a bit more. I also forgot to mention that there are also two feet to elevate the keyboard and there is no deck flex at all. It is also pretty heavy and this is my first mechanical keyboard that I have ever had. -
Never used a mechanical keyboard before so don't know much about it. It will be used for gaming and the regular typing. I would prefer the Tenkeyless ones or even 60% ones. Would like to buy within black friday so suggest some asap.?

Hi guys, I need to but a new keyboard and I'm kinda stuck in one retailer (note of credit). My old one (Kingston HyperX RM780RGB) was not the best in lighting and the leds died but I liked it's construction. Since this keyboard is not sold in theis retailer anymore I will buy another one. The note of credit is 109 euros I believe. I wouldn't mind add some more but I'm quite skeptical if the keyboards are worth it. So which one of this would be the one to go? Logitech G513 Carbon Roccat Ryos MK Glow (mx black) Cooler Master MasterKeys MK750 (mx brown) Ozone Strike Battle Spectra (mx red) Corsair K70 MK.2 (mx red) Asus ROG Strix Flare (mx black)

I am looking for a mechanical keyboard which will last me at least 3 years. Hopefully without giving me key registry issue, like double clicking or no input. And whats with reviews on even premium keyboards having switch issue like I mentioned? I am not a typist but use the computer several hours a day. The basic keyboard is kinda pissing me off on how rigid it is, CM devastator combo. I have a cheap RedDrgaon Kumara, but the POS started giving key issue in under 3 months. Having paid more than MRP because of taxes and duties it left a sour taste in my mouth. I just want something reliable and comfortable to use at the same time. I dont quite like Blue switches, they are loud and not quite suited for gaming or editing.

Hi,i am going to the united states of America very soon, I am bringing my own laptop but because I know I will be doing a lot of typing in the US as I am schooling there I was wondering if I can bring my, Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 edition of my razer keyboard on the flight, and if it is allowed do I put it in my luggage or my backpack? Is there also anything else i should take as precaution?

I recently invested in my first mechanical keyboard (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071J5WTT6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and I love it! The only downside is that it wired by a micro-usb cable. I want to find a way to make it wireless either by receiver or bluetooth. I have done a bit of research and found some DIY stuff (https://lifehacker.com/convert-any-usb-keyboard-to-bluetooth-with-a-diy-adapte-1786324129) and a few products but nothing stands out. Has anyone had success in this? I would prefer something that I could attach to the keyboard.
