A friend of mine is wanting to get a better experience in modern games and wants what is best for his money. He is not planing to do any kind of overclocking and is not going to be rendering videos so z170 or x99 boards isn't a thing he wants. He won't be going for liquid cooling since he is a pretty basic guy. He will tend to use it stricktly as a gamimg rig only. He does want to keep costs down a bit and could use a new keyboard and mouse and he doesn't want something fancy like rgb, macros, etc. He just wants something that will serve him well and that will last him for a while. I really don't think he plans to play games at 1440p or 4k but wants a great experience in 1080p. Has around $600 but is willing to spend $920 at his max. He will appreciate a very premium look to his whole pc as long as the prices aren't through the roof. Thank you for reading and helping me. Edit: Spelling

I want to start building my first PC today but I want to get some more advice. I'll link my parts below (note: I live near a Microcenter) I was going to grab my final 2 components Ryzen 5 2400g and the AsRock B450 PRO4. Someone on r/buildpcsales said I should get the Ryzen 5 1600 + RX 570 instead of the 2400g. But the reason I wanted to go with the 2400g is because I just wanted something for so light gaming (Apex, Warframe and maybe Destiny 2) and to use my elgato HD60S to capture and stream PS4 gameplay. I just want to know how long will that RX 570 be good enough. When I add all 3 parts to the cart on Microcenter it's around $277 I can push that budget to around $350 any recommendations please and Thank you sorry if I sound complicated above. I recently ordered 2 120mm rgb fans of newegg (https://www.newegg.com/p/1YF-00VU-00001?Item=9SIAHW79524719), and they came with 6 pin connectors and no fan controller, meaning that my b450 motherboard can't power them. What can I do? Do I contact the manufacturer? Do I just return them?

This is my first pc build and I am trying to switch to the master race so I have been looking at cpu’s and I found one on pcpartpicker.com and then I chose all my other components on the website and now have pretty good build in my opinion but, since this is a gaming rig I was curious if I could run 2018 games at 100FPS or more on 1440p on my build. Also do you guys think I need to upgrade my cpu cooler or case? Hello guys! I bought a PC 5 years ago. Recently my PC started to give me bugs and problems and now I need to upgrade (and btw my CPU died yesterday). Before it was a AMD radeon 770 HD series GPU, MSI FM2-A75MA-P33 motherboard and some kind of athlon 4 core 3.2 GHz CPU (don't remember which one exactly because it's already in my trash can). I have already swapped GPU and PSU. I got GTX 1050 4GB TI GPU and SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze EVO Edition 520W ATX12V v2.3 PSU. For storage I have Samsung 850 evo 250gb and some kind of 1TB HDD (doesn't matter). Everything else I need to change (CPU, RAM, Motherboard). I was thinking about getting the Ryzen 5 CPU (still can't decide between 1600X, 2600 and 2600X, but im leaning more towards 2600X), GIGABYTE AB350M-GAMING 3 motherboard and G.SKILL RIPJAWSV 32GB 3200MHZ DDR4 CL16 DIMM KIT OF 2 F4-3200C16D-32GVK RAM. I was looking at PATRIOT VIPER 4 16GB 3000MHZ DDR4 CL16 KIT OF 2 PV416G300C6K. I don't care how much RAM memory i get for now but i know i'll want to upgrade later to 32GB. What are your thoughts if I go for Ryzen 5 2600X with that G.SKILL RAM? Or there are some better options in your thoughts. I don't want to spend too much money but at the same time i'd rather pay a bit exrtra so I wont get any unnecessary surprises later. With this upgrade I'm hoping to last at least 4 next years. Hopefully long time PC builder enthusiasts aren't getting a heart attack looking at my theoretical build. P.S. Sorry for typos if there are any. English was only my 3rd language i have learned. P.S.S. Everyone have a nice day!

So I am building my first pc ever and I've been given a decent budget from my good college results and I've settled on Asus z370 prime p I7 8700k Nzxt kraken x62 32gb quad channel memory (I'm not sure if I can use this configuration with an 8700k I've been told that I can do quad channel and it doesn't matter but I look on the spec page and see dual channel so idk what to do about that) Gtx 1080ti 850w PSU All inside of a nzxt s340 black and red edition case I know it's not colour coded with insane RGB but I'd like to stream 720p 60fps Is this a good build and with my memory config is that fine to use it will give me issues later on I do know how to install windows from a usb drive however if my motherboard needs a BIOS update that wouldn't be a problem would it I can just download the update and let it do its thing with a restart right?

The parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/s7LqHh What do you think? Chose the CPU because: 6 cores will not be mainstream for a while Higher clock speeds are more important than core count Overall great price/performance Chose CPU cooler because: Intel stock cooler is potato quality $20 is all the budget I have for cooling Got a lot of recommendations for the Cryorig M9i Chose motherboard because: It has great features at an expensive price: 4 DIMM slots USB Type-C 2*M.2 slots Support for upto three monitors from integrated graphics B360 is good enough, because I don't think I will ever need RAID or SLI Chose RAM because: While 8GB would have been enough, 16GB dual channel seems good for the future Chose higher speed RAM although Intel does not feed on it because it's currently 5 dollars more expensive Chose SSD because: NVME is currently overkill, and normal SATA will do fine 500GB is decent for now, and can be upgraded later Chose case because: It generally sells for $10 less, making it a great buy It has dust magnets, 2*2.5" drive bays, an included blue LED fan, modular I/O, and a transparent panel Chose PSU because: Wanted at least 80+ Bronze, and at least semi-modularity from a reputable brand Chose OS because: Windows 10 Pro is a bad idea The full version is also useful, so that I can transfer it across motherboards Chose case fan because: Got recommendations for it Looks decent Good price/performance Chose monitor because: I had money to spare since my build itself looked solid, so I went with a 1440p panel I did not want a huge display, so that I could see everything at a time 60Hz refresh rate is not a concern Chose speaker because: Cheapest 2.1 channel speaker Chose webcam because: 1080p is a nice boost for video calling as compared to 720p Was inexpensive, and had good reviews on Amazon Chose microphone because: It was cheap, looked good and had decent reviews I am actively looking for replacements for this part because I have an extra headphone jack on my Marshall 2 headphones. Is there an attachable microphone that I can get that stays there and hangs on? What do you think of this build? Anything I should change?

Gonna get a GPU later, when prices fall/ when a newer model releases- currently looking at a GTX 1050/ 1050 Ti Going for Intel because the Ryzen 5 2400G is not powerful enough, and I don't want to buy a GPU now. What do you guys think? Not comfortable getting the key from Reddit, want the ultra-wide specifically for productivity purposes, and chose the case coz it comes with two optical drive bays (one can be converted to 4 SSD bays), has 2 white LED fans, and I specifically don't want a GPU now.

Hello, thank you for clicking on my post. I am busy building a pc and I do not have all the parts yet. I installed my motherboard into my case because I have my Motherboard, Case and Power Supply Unit already and I am still waiting on my other parts. Now I just installed the motherboard because I thought ''Hey why not, there's nothing wrong with installing a motherboard in a case for no reason? Right?'' So... I installed the motherboard, without any stand off's... so I literally took the screws included in the case and screwed the motherboard straight to the case without installing the little stand off things so the back of the motherboard doesn't touch the case, well... I didn't install those stand off things and the motherboard was touching the back off the case for a good week, I still haven't gotten all my stuff yet so I don't know if i have short circuited it or not? Please tell my that there is some sort of god and that my 150 Dollar Motherboard is going to be okay? Please...? Hello, thanks for clicking on my post. I have decided on all the parts I want in my PC other than my SSD (and PSU but you can check that out on the psu forum), all I want from my ssd is to be 240GB or over, under 850 SEK (86 Euro) and last at least 3 years. Oh also be fast, you know, that's why I want an SSD. You can check out my profile for the PCPartPicker link and the name of my SSD I think is okay, please help out. Currently i'm running off a lower end gaming laptop, but recently I've been getting into 3D fx, modeling, editing etc. -- on top of wanting to play more intensive 3D games -- so I have an upgrade in mind (too bad the Canadian dollar is so low lol). My budget is ~$2500 Canadian (with shipping/tax), and I more or less have my parts picked out (although i'd be happy to hear recommendations for better products within similar price ranges) But more importantly because i'm a first time builder, it would be really, really nice if someone more experienced could quickly check over my build and make sure that all selected parts are compatible (I've tried to make sure everything works together but considering how much money is being invested in this comp I really want to be 100% sure. Hello, could you please check over my Parslist if they are sensible or if there are mistakes in it. I will be used for programming and gaming as high performance tasks, but graphical quallity isn't that important. I have played often at 600X800 resulution and enjoyed it. Currently I am using a HP Elitebook 8530w with an Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9000 @ 2.00GHz and a NVIDIA Quadro FX 770M. It has served me well despite the overheating problems, but the mobility requirements are now fulfilled by my tablet. I'm living in Austria (the one with the alps, not the kangaroos), the OS will be Windows and the budget should stay roughtly the same. After hooking everything up to where I'm pretty sure it needs to go (I watched an Austin Evans video to help), I found a couple wires that I'm not sure where they need to go, I have the front fan wire than can't reach even slightly near the motherboard, and the front USB wire with the same problem. I might be able to post some pictures if needed.

Hey guys, I finished my first pc about a week ago, and after 5 days of non-overclocked light use it shut down in the middle of a battlefield game. I tried reseting cmos and all that stuff, but I know for a fact it is not my power supply (have tested it). Whenever I turn the power on the debug LED displays 00, and the board lights up. The board is not powering any fans including the cpu fan. I cannot acces bios, its wont even output anything. Please note that I have not got a gpu ATM, I took it out to work on the pc, but putting it back is not an issue. Hey, I am a first time builder, and I was wondering if I could get any suggestions or tips on my build. My main concerns are these: 1. My motherboard - Is it good? I am planning on overclocking some time in the future, and is the Bios menu something that I should take into consideration on it? 2. My case fans. I am going for the red theme, so I thought these would be cool, but do they provide sufficient air flow? 3. RAM. I have no knowledge of RAM whatsoever, so please inform me on what is good, and what isn't. 4. SSD. Is 250 GBs going to be too much? I am trying to stick close to 1200 dollars USD. I am going to install Windows 10 on it, and CS:GO, and probably GTA V. 5. PSU. Not much knowledge on this either. I'd love any suggestions on this! PCPartPicker Link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LF2DWZ Thanks a ton!!! EDIT: Meant to put the link in, but forgot... Sorry!

Hello All, I'm building a PC for the first time. It will be used entirely for editing video. I will be using mostly Adobe Premiere, Speedgrade, and After Effects on the machine. I have absolutely zero interest in gaming, so that is not a concern. I have started picking out parts, but am not entirely sure if I have the best combination for my needs and budget... I'd like to stay around $1700. Also, I currently have no clue how large of a power supply I will need, so reccomendations on that would be great. Heres what I have so picked so far: Processor: Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 3.3GHz Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Motherboard: ASUS x99-Pro Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 32GB DDR4 SSD: Crucial BX100 250GB Storage: 2TB WD BLACK SERIES 7200RPM (will hopefully be adding another for a RAID 1 eventually) Please help, I'm really clueless... Also, could I fit this into a smaller case like a Cooler Master N200? I like the looks and size of that case.

Specifically looking to see if there are any big bottle necks that I am over looking or if there are any suggestions on alternate parts for similar price that would be better. Hi guys. After 4 years worth of savings I've finally got enough for me to get my Dream Rig! I've got a grand total of £2,550 to spend now, and here are the parts that I've chosen. They might not be perfect, and I'm open to changes that anyone can offer me. Another thing is as I'm a first time builder, I've got no experience, so would love to hear some good tips that could make the build more enjoyable and things that I might miss that is vitally important.
