So I just recently built my first pc, it booted perfectly fine and I installed windows 10 64bit. Today I got around to installing some games and updating drivers and such. I was playing The Forest (great game so far) when my pc just shut off. Tried to boot, reset cmos, reseat ram, and currently it will get a short burst of power .. rgb prism cooler lights up and my pc won’t boot. It worked fine two hours ago. I believe it would be something along the lines of cpu overheating or motherboard short/driver issue but I am new to the pc world and have always played console. Here is the full build. I took out the cpu fan and looked at the 24 pin cable and my 8 pin cpu cable and they both looked fine with no bent pins, I also tried every possible ram combination and there was no change in the res lights at all. I have been searching on stuff in the internet and see checking those two things as the only solutions. I just built this so I don’t see how one of my parts can be ruined already! Any help appreciated, thank you!

Heyo! So I’ve got: - M270 SLI motherboard - i7 7700k - 32GB of DDR4 3200MHz ram (4x8) - 1060 6Gb - 750W PSU System is about 2-3 years old, but I did get it second hand. Problem: About 3-4 months ago, I moved to an apartment for college. The car drive seemed to shake some things about and upon arriving at school, the computer would endlessly go into a boot cycle, where it’d boot for about a second, fail, then try again 3-4 seconds later to no avail, endlessly. Eventually figured out it was a RAM issue, reseated the RAM repeatedly until one of the tries it just worked. It then never failed again for the entire time I was in that apartment. I’ve just driven home with the PC, and lo-and-behold, the issue is now entirely back, but worse. Here are the scenarios: — all 4 sticks seated (32GB 3200MHz): Aforementioned boot cycle. EZDebug shows it flash CPU then DRAM followed by an immediate fail, and the cycle proceeds. — 2 sticks seated in either slots 1 & 3 or 2 & 4 | 1 stick seated anywhere: No boot cycle, however, the EZDebug light shows it flip between CPU and DRAM continuously, with about 0.5 second on CPU, and about 2 seconds on DRAM. — 2 sticks in 3 & 4 or 1 & 2: Curiously, this is the only method that seems to semi-work. The EZDebug shows that the CPU then DRAM lights go on, followed by the VGA light, then back to DRAM, then VGA, then the final light before they all go dark and the PC continues running. However, even though I can tell my GPU is receiving power (and I know for certain that it works), no video output comes out of it. Does anyone have any ideas at all?

Hi! While I do acknowledge that there is "no post on sundays" (thanks Uncle Vernon) I am nevertheless trying to make my new build post. SPECS: ASUS x570 f-gaming AMD Ryzen 7 3700X G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4 3600MHz 2x16GB Corsair RM 750X V2 Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML360R RGB Phanteks Enthoo 719 WD Blue SN550 NVMe M.2 1TB WD Blue 3D SATA SSD 1TB I am also transplanting a GTX 1070 from my old build. The PC will power up - all lights and fans spin and glow, but there is NO DISPLAY SIGNAL. ALSO the DRAM light is LIT AF. What I have tried so far: Reseating the RAM sticks in every configuration. The preferred seating is A2 and B2, but I have tried both A1 and B1 aswell as only running one stick in A1, A2, B1 and B2. No change in behaviour. Plugging in additional power to the CPU. At first I only had the 8pin connector connected, but I have now also connected the additional 4pin connector. No change in behaviour. Changing GPUs and PCIe slots. I have tried both a GTX 970 and a 1070 aswell as both the top and middle PCIe lanes. The GPUs both work fine in my old PC. No change in behaviour. Flashing a newer BIOS version. I have downloaded the latest (non beta) BIOS build from ASUS and flashed it using the FLASHBACK functionality on the motherboard. Flash seemed to be successfull. No change in behaviour. Different screens and different HDMI/DVI/DP ports. I have tried pretty much every port on the back (even the ones straight from the MB even though there is no iGPU so that shouldnt work anyway). No change in behaviour. Resetting the CMOS. I shorted the CLRTC pins for 5-10 seconds as per the manual. No change in behaviour. I am also pretty sure that the RAM is certified as compatible with the MB/CPU. The product ID for the RAM is: F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC. I am ripping my hair out and just straight up not having a great time. I loved building my previous PC in 2014, and this one is built to specially for CP2077 - I HOPE I can fix it in time! I am super thankfull for every reply here - even if it might not fix it, please contribute! I ending this post with a quote that I think describe my mood right now: "I think there must be something wrong with me, Linus. Christmas is coming, but I'm not happy. I don't feel the way I'm supposed to feel." - Charlie Brown

I upgraded my CPU from an i5-8400 to an i7-9700k. I immediately got a yellow DRAM light and I tried to switch back to my old CPU but the error prevails. I unplugged everything and took it all apart. After putting my PC back together it's still here. I've been doing this for 6 hours and am just exhausted. My motherboard is ASUS strix z370-e gaming, my ssd is Samsung 1 gb, my power supply is evga 650w, my cooler is cooler master, my ram is 1x8 ballistix and a 1x32 teamgroup. I tried switching out the ram in all slots and got no results. Please help I'm tired

Per the title.. spent an hour or so looking thru similar threads. BIOS keeps showing 3200mhz Timing/voltage looks right and I turned on XMP in the BIOS. DRAM speed only shows 1599.1mhz on the Memory tab, but then SPD tab shows 1066mhz. So is the XMP profile working or not? and trcd and trp is accurate as well. i paid for 18-18 not 20-20 Mobo is an MSI b450m mortar max. btw, its corsair vengeance rgb pro

Hello, I’m running: Asus B550-f wifi motherboard AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor w/ wraith prism cooler 16gb Corsair vengeance rgb pro ram EVGA 550 80 plus bronze power supply MSI Radeon 5600xt graphics card 500gb Samsung 970 plus nvme ssd I turned on my computer today and was logging in, got to the desktop and randomly a blue screen, no biggie, it restarts and I go back to the log in screen. Log in, and I begin to open applications, when it BSODs again. I begin to panic, as my computer begins to BSOD and go into recovery mode a couple times, and no option I pick within Recovery mode does anything. The last time I was in Recovery mode, I selected an option, and my computer just shuts off. I turn it back on after hard resetting it, and my DRAM light on my Mobo is lit up amber/orange. I begin to check the ram, and insert it into different configurations the manual suggests, and in the end, am stuck with a dead PC. I have purchased some of the same DDR4 Corasir RGB Ram, and the same issue happens. I have been using this same RAM for months and months...now i have 32GB when i figure out whats wrong haha. Thanks!

Summary The market is still oversupplied so the price of nand flash and dram are predicted to go down about 10% in q4 2020. Quotes My thoughts I know this isn't a really exciting news compared to all the new launches but lower prices for the same product are better prices and who knows if this persists maybe things will be dirt cheap by the time I build my computer. Over a while I've noticed my RAM being used up more and more everyday with even less and less applications being used as I close them or delete them from my storage. I've read a few forums from Tom's Hardware and they said there might be a memory leak somewhere, and I'm still looking into that. BUT! There's another thing I noticed. My DRAM frequency claims to be running at 669.3 in CPU-Z (as it always says 667 in Task Manager, so that's not reliable) but when I saw this, I was in shock. I figured it was just task manager being goofy, but it turns out my RAM isn't performing as it should. I have 4 sticks of VULCAN 4GB DDR3 RAM all running in dual channel mode, all of which are supposed to run at 2400MHz max per stick (according to Vulcans forums and the sticker on the side of each stick) Now, I'm a tech nerd, but I'm still learning. This pc was built by an old friend I lost contact with years ago when we traded my laptop and xbox for his gaming pc. Can someone please help and explain to me what might be going on? I've tried the XMP profile but it causes BIOS problems. I've tried self tweaking my RAM frequency but it causes BIOS FAILURE and I reset my CMOS twice during and before this. I was told to try OC GENIE, but that seems sketchy and I don't wanna damage my computer. SPEC SHEET: CPU - AMD FX-8370 OCTA-CORE Black Edition RAM - Vulcan 2400 MHz 4GB DDR3 (x4) in dual channel GPU - ASUS GTX 1060 OC DUAL 6GB Storage - 1.25TB altogether If y'all need anymore additional information, I'll gladly grab the rest! PLEASEEEEEEEEE HELP!

Hi, I accidently unplugged PC while running and now my week old PC won't boot and DRAM error led is on. I swapped memory sticks once and the error led is still there. The fans and RGB on mobo are on. Would I have to replace CMOS battery or do I put the same one back in? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Gskill ripjaws 16gb 3600mhz Ryzen 5 3600

Alright, here we go (typing this on my iPad so please bear with me here) So, I am a Computer Science and VFX-Design student and I recently noticed that my 10 year old PC doesn‘t quite suffice any more (bc of Corona I can‘t be on campus but I still have to render gigantic files and animations/models). So I decided to build a PC, and I wanted it do be a beast. I never spend a lot of money, but in this case I wanted to treat myself. Through a vendor in my country I bought all the parts and with an extra 150$ they built it, tested it and installed windows. I did‘t want to build it myself because I don‘t have any experience and this rig cost me about 2.700$. I wanted to play it safe. My „smallest“ problem is the temps my CPU hits while idling. It idles around 52°C but only hits 75°C when under load (Houdini/Blender/Maya rendering sequences). I think it‘s weird that it is that hot idling around but doesn‘t get that hot when completely utilized. I checked my airflow and the fans are in the correct configuration, and the tower cooler blows air correctly too. I checked the CPU fan curve too and it‘s pretty aggressive (idc about noise), so this confuses me a bit. Is that something I have to investigate or are the idle temps just sucky because it‘s summer and hot here in germany? Onto my second issue I just got today: My CPU suddenly clocked at about .6 GHz per core and it only went up to about 1 GHz once. Weird. Now my third and absolutely most annoying issue: About 60% of the times I want to boot my PC, the DRAM LED on my motherboard lights up and it doesn‘t post. I reseated my RAM, turned off DOCP to test and stuff, but it randomly just decides not to work without any clear cause. I turn off my PC turn it back on and just hope the error doesn‘t come up again, and it mostly doesn‘t a second time in a row. It drives me nuts and I don‘t know what to do about that issue. Maybe it‘s important to add: Now after that weird CPU clock issue and me restarting my PC, the DRAM issue appears far more often. (Currently tried to restart it for the 10th time, got it to post once) I hope someone can help me here, because I am lost, and sorry if my english isn‘t the best. My specifications (just listing the things that are important here): CPU: Ryzen 9 3900XT with a DarkRock 4 Pro tower cooler RAM: Corsair Vengeance 3200 32 GB (dual channel with 2 sticks) MOBO: Asus Prime x570 Pro PSU: Corsair HX850 Case: Corsair Carbide 678C (curently only installed the case fans, I wanted to buy better ones and put them in myslef)

I was using changing DRAM timings in gigabyte aorus b550 elite bios in the tweaker tab and when I checked CPU-Z and Ryzen master my timings did not apply. I did have very aggressive timings so maybe it is not applying them because it is not able to boot. But in cpu-z and ryzen master the CAS Latency is 15 when the RAM default is 16. What is the issue? Thanks

My friend and I are trying to see who can squeeze as much performance out of their system as possible, ya know, as kids do these days. We started with manually tuning our RAM. We both have 16-19-19-39 3600MHz kits, but through our OCs we got different results, as you do (both of these were tested with MemTest86 with 0 errors). I got 16-18-17-18-36 (along with a bunch of other things I changed), while my friend SOMEHOW managed a tCL of 13, however most of his other numbers were worse with 13-19-17-19-39. I have come to the lords and ladies of things I don’t understand to ask which one of these is better (and why because yay learning). We are also on Ryzen if that helps because I know it likes good RAM. Thanks!

Im out of options and that ive got no clue what im doing wrong, ive done the xmp profile with it been 3200mhz with the 16 18 18 36, still nothing, auto goes back to 2133mhz. Also tried doing it my self with 1.2v and 1.35v with the 3200mhz and the timings https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KTnrFG

Hey. I cleaned dust in my case for the second time after the build (1 year by now) and tried to boot up. The dram led on mobo was lit and stuck. No boot and other stuff like aio and gpu-fans and etc are working but the dram yellow light won't go away and i cant boot. I tried different slots-single module- used MemOK everytime.cleared cmos, but still the same. Is my ram damaged or motherboard? I was very careful doin all the cleaning Searched alot still nothing ! Hey, i just bought the "Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz" RAM Modules and after installing i checked CPU-Z if they were running correct, but there the DRAM Frequency is at 1066 MHz, and not the 1600 as it should be. What can i do? i tried to load a XMP Profile in the BIOS, but that didn't change the frequency, although i chose the one with 3200MHz Thanks for your help

Hi guys, I'm tweaking my ram timings with the help of Ryzen DRAM Calculator. Everything seems good so far, plus 10 FPS on my most played game. I haven't tested for full stability using memtest86, I'll do it later. I'd like to know what to do with some settings in my BIOS that don't match the ones showed in the CALCULATOR. See the images below. I'm not sure what to do with tRFC because it shows as only "tRFC" in the calculator but I have more than one tRFC setting in my BIOS. Also RTT_NOM and RTT_PARK don't allow me to set RZQ/7(34), I can only disable the setting or set a value in ohms. What should I do? Help me out pls! Is there any step by step guide on how to use the calculator properly?

I would like to highlight my experience for the community with Corsair DRAM Lifetime Warranty, and ask around if someone else also experienced the same on this. So it turned out that Corsair neglects to respect their own lifetime warranty or at least some of aspects, and in reality this is not as mature as it should. Right after my 1 year warranty expired two of my eight memory modules became faulty. I have a 4x32GB KIT (8x16GB=128GB) Vengeance 2400MHz in quad channel. Since all of the DRAMs are having lifetime warranty I have opened an RMA case for Corsair and started the RMA process. Corsair approved my RMA request and sent me a shipping label for the return package, and asked me to send all of the memory modules, even the ones which are not faulty. I have adequately packed the modules into a box, sealed it to be water resistant and sent as a registered package (wich tracking code). After a few days, Corsair Netherlands received the package, and after 24 hours I was informed about a package from Corsair, which arrived quickly, but when opened the box I could only found 2x16GB modules (1x32GB KIT). Since my RMA ticket was still in an opened state, I have updated it about the missing modules, attached the shipping manifest and a photo aswell, which clearly showed that there was a mistake on Corsair's end, they have missed sending me all of the modules. Since then more than a month passed, and Corsair neglects to make any meaningful progress on my case and this is really worrying. Do you guys have similar experience with Corsair RMA? I would really appreciate your input or any kind of advice on how to make them fulfill the RMA case by sending the proper amount of memory modules.

Hi I remember reading a article about China gonna make memory chips, that was a year or two ago now and I wonder did they ever make any? Does any of the RAM sticks we can buy today contain any of these? Last sticks I got was SK Hynix(Kingston & Patriot), Samsung(Corsair DDR3) & Samsung(G.Skill DDR4) again... Also if non of the major ones then who does use em? :I

Hi, there, With the idea of increasing the performance of my hardware without taking too much risk, I overclocked the DRAM and my CGU, I didn't touch the CPU. To overclock it, I used : DRAM Calculator for Ryzen by choosing the "Calculate Safe" option and I changed the timings via MSI Command Center (I had already changed the frequency from 2166MHz to 3000MHz via the BIOS and took the XMP 2933MHz timings). I saw that the CPU had a lot to gain. I then proceeded to overclock my graphic card, to do so, I used MSI Afterburner following the instructions here As for the DRAM OC, it's the software that calculates the best settings, I increased the VRAM memory by 991MHz by hand, because I had read that it was a graphic card that had a high OC potential thanks to the VRAM memory OC, and I read in comments that the maximum value before crash was 1000MHz. I changed two settings under "NVIDIA settings" : Results : I'm happy with the results, the hardware does not heat up and the games work in very good quality (often in Ultra). Performance is equal to and even better than GTX 1660 Ti and Super "stock".

Context: Built this rig last july and it saw very minimal use. In feb. it was having problems where my browser tabs would crash or the entire machine would crash. I used one of the default memory diagnostic programs that just gives a broad output of 'Hardware problems detected Contact manufacturer.’ So i figured there was something wrong and i sent the ram to corsair using the limited lifetime warrantee and got my replacement. the same thing was happening so i changed the freq to auto which set it at around 2133 instead of the stock 3000 and it was working fine. i played space engineers for an extended time yesterday and now i just get a white dram ezdebug light when i try to power it on. Ive reseated the ram a dozen times and pulled the cmos battery and jumped jbat1 and nothing.
