Hi guys and girls i really need help fault finding here. Recently changed my Crossfire AMD R9 270x (2gb each) for Gtx 1050Ti 4GB. ive made the change and My rig is now Shutting down when Playing games. list of faults ive looked for - . Ive deleted all software for previous graphic cards. (so not software) . PSU is brand new out of box 2 months in use its a EVGA 750B (PSU) . Taken RAM sticks out and tried individual ones which didnt help (RAM) . recently bought a CPU Cooler (Cool master Hyper 103).... checked the heat sink/reapplied (CPU) .Cable management i no longer use the VGA cables from PSU and seen a thread with someone saying it could be that.... . GPU - new from PC WORLD very much doubt its a malfunction dud, but ive been watching movies on this card without any crashes only when i play a graphically intense game it will turn off (not shut down..literally no power... need to take plug out of wall and wait a few seconds until any sort of boot up is possible) MOTHERBOARD- Everything points too GPU and motherboard not being compatable ive researched online and seen people with my motherboard. (ASROCK FM2A88X Extreme4+) with the card. seen on the description list of the motherboard that its maximum Graphics memory is 2gb... Now heres the question is it as obvious as needing to change boards or is it something that isnt money consuming. RIG setup- CPU-AMD A10 Black edition 4ghz 100w Ram- 8gb Corsair Venegence - 2x4Gb Corsair venegence (BLACK STICKS) Psu - EVGA 750w Bronze Motherboard - ASROCK FM2A88X Extreme 4+ Optical Drive - Blu Ray reader (nothing special) CPU Cooler - Cool Master 103 Hyper (blue led) Hard Drive - 2x 1Tb Western digital and Seagate Case- CiT G force Gaming (green LEDx3) I know its alot of reading and i hope ive structured it for some of you's to tell me the obvious or not so obvious reason my Rig went from working to not in the space of a few short weeks. Thank you

My computer crashes whenever I click "Find game" in Titanfall 2, and seemingly randomly in every other game. So I boot my PC, load TF2, click through the menus, and click to start matchmaking. It crashes as I click it, without fail. No bluescreen, no error when rebooting, just immediate black. Additionally, it will also crash occasionally in every other game I've tried. The TF2 specific problem began recently, while it would just randomly crash in every other game before that. Hardware is in my profile, and if you need some sort of error report or file or whatnot, just tell me where to find it. Thanks in advance.

My computer crashes when i play games that are a bit hard to run. It freezes the frame and nothing happens. I first started noticing it when i was playing battlefield 1 beta and it was crashing every 10 minutes while playing. I started looking into it and found out it crashes once my cpu reaches 80 degrees. If i removed my side pannel it worked normally. I then stopped playing battlefield 1 as the beta ended and played games like cs go and such so i didnt notice it. Now i started playing pu battlegrounds and it crashes and its very annoying when i get to the end of the match with my friends and i just crash and they have a player less. What can i do for it to stop crashing? Specs: CPU hladilnik Arctic Freezer 13 Sharkoon WPM700 Bronze Crucial 8gb ddr4 ram 2400mhz i5 6600k Silverstone KL05B-W (case) Palit gtx 1070 gpu MSI Z170A PC MATE My friends say it might be that my GPU isnt in correctly or that the cooler isnt good enough. Are there any suggestions i could do (i havent tried to push in the gpu harder or do anything with the cooler yet)

Here's a silly question (or maybe not). Can built in wires such as 2x 6/8 pin pci-e connectors from a PSU when not used cause any sort of crashing problems I.e a rig to turn off under extensive load such as a benchmark ? Its for a or a future reference I went from 2x 290x on crossfire with a total of 4 6pin pcie connectors in use to a single 1050 ti no connectors in use but 2 built in on my evga 750B psu cablemanged and tucked away out of sight and now my rig turns off under use. Ideas pps ive already bought new hardware to start from scratch it's just a unsolved mystery to me

It is a weird bug to explain so I guess I will cut to the chase, every time I right click on the desktop and hover my mouse over "New," everything locks up besides external programs like Task Manager & Chrome. I've seen issues of this sort online and the recommendation was to edit the reg since windows broke with a dropbox app called "App Installer." I've cleaned my registry with CCleaner, and I still have this issue. An odd thing that worked is when I logged into my alt administrator account and attempted to make a new folder, the Windows Explorer didn't crash, so my guess is it isn't a registry issue or corrupted OS. Any idea, please?

This has been happening for a while now and its been really annoying as Microsoft support have not helped at all. Apparently the issue is that the authentication server thinks that my copy is illegitimate and that I have to wait for Microsoft to fix it I'm just wondering of this is the case. Which is why I came here as I might get a meaningful answer rather than "we cannot help you". The image I attached is as far as i get before the game closes and puts me back to desktop this started happening after I restarted the game to change some graphics settings. I have updated my drivers and windows, disabled anti-virus I have even tried a system restore and no luck these are all the troubleshooting steps I have done.

I once again return to the best community to seek help in an issue which i can not solve myself. So i have been over the past few months been having issues with my PC regarding it crashing in some 3D games/benchmarks. The way it crashes is just the screen freezes, sound stops and i am stuck with what was last presented on the monitor, a total system lock which i can only fix by manually shutting off my PC and restarting. The reason i think it is the PSU is: All my temps are fine and stable No-overclocking of neither CPU or GPU And the biggest suspicion, the PSU does make a huge viarity of static noises when entering any form of 3D program. The uncommon sound is not really all that loud (But definitely something you can hear by being near the case), but because of it even making noise i have to be suspicious of it being the culprit. I bought the PSU back in February of this year, and i do have a 2 year warranty on the PSU but they will only provide me with a new one if they think it's the issue, and if they don't find anything out of the ordinary, i apparently have to pay a small (but noticeable) fee. So i thought coming here first would be the better option. I do think the noise alone would be enough for them to give me a new one, but i can't be certain. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! - Anders A.K.A Andazu

Hello, people. On Saturday I gave a friend of mine my single 8GB stick of ram because for some reason his motherboard wouldn't take both his sticks. We tested out his RAM on my computer and it worked fine, I later on installed my R9 Fury Nitro which I bought. Ever since, there have been complete system freezes when I play games that will not go away over time. It happened 2 times already today, 2 times yesterday and 1 time on Sunday. Could it be because of my graphics card or is my friend's ram the culprit? I have already notified him that we will switch RAM again because he told me that if I saw any defects he wanted them back to RMA them or some shit.

Ok so i just installed a new processor ( AMD Fx- 8320E Black Edition) and now randomly but most frequently whilst playing games my Pc restarts. it will crash and give the repetitive noise like when a game crashes, now I have ran a memory diagnostic to see if my ram was messed up and it came back clean.i have looked at my temps and my GPU gets to about 52 C, and my CPU about 55-65 C under a moderate load, iv even thought that maybe my PSU is failing but i don't see any real evidence so far of that. ill post my specs below but i have no idea whats happening, I appreciate anyone's help. GPU: ASUS RADEON R9 380 OC CPU: AMD Fx- 8320E BLACK EDITION RAM: 8GB CRUCIAL BALLISTIXS MOBO: ASROCK 970DE3/U3S3 PSU: COOLMASTER 80+ 700W

Ryzen 5 1400 3.2Ghz EVGA GTX 1050 ti SC 8GBx1 Corsair Vengeance 120GB SSD B350 PCMATE MOBO (As a fix I tried changing to a new one) -> GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming MOBO PSU Cooler Master Elite v2 550w Hello, I've been trying to fix this problem for quite a while, after building this PC I started to have very problematic issues specifically when playing games, it seems that when the GPU has to render visuals it starts to fail, causing one of the following: - Freezes: the screen either blacks out or freezes, with some games, it fixes itself by re-rendering absolutely everything on screen again, with other games, I have to minimize the game then maximize so it can re-render the visuals again. (This happens with PayDay 2, Killing Floor, Terraria, Thumper, etc) - Crashes: games completely crash, sometimes it takes longer to crash (1-2 min), sometimes it does just as the game loads (DotA 2, DOOM, Half Life 1, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Shadow Warrior (Sometimes runs fine, but absolutely random), Metro 2033 Redux, Strider) In most of the freeze scenarios one of these messages appear "Nvidia Display driver stopped working and has recovered" or "-Appnames- access to graphic hardware was blocked" as a pop up window. Software checks I did: - Installing latest drivers. - MemTest86 to check the RAM memory. - FurMak to stress test the GPU (Crashes after some time). - HeavyLoad to stress test the CPU/GPU (CPU tests worked fine, GPU tests would suddenly stop showing display) - CrystalDisk to check the SSD and HDD I use. - Checked all temperatures and they were fine. - Voltage values in the PSU were fine. - Updated the BIOS to the latest version. (B350 PCMATE) - Disabling PCI Express energy optimization. - Setting Max performance on NVidia power management panel. - Disabling VSync on NVidia graphics panel. - Creating a TdrDelay value on Regedit. - DDU then a clean reinstall of the latest drivers. - DDU then a install of an old driver. - Changing from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1 (I already went back to Win 10 with a fresh reinstallation). - Reducing memory usage through Msiafterburner. Hardware checks I did: - Swapping PCI ports to see if the PCI port was faulty. (B350 PCMATE) - Swapping RAM stick to another slot to check if it was faulty. (B350 PCMATE) - Using 2 different GPU's to check for any differences in my machine. (B350 PCMATE) - Using a different PSU. (B350 PCMATE) - Using a different motherboard. (GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming) I'm very stressed since I still can't understand the situation and I don't know what to do. After all these fixes all I did was making some games more stable but the issues still keep going.

I did 2 rounds of memtest on this memory with the 1333mhz speed, the 2400mhz speed, and I had no errors. Even more shocking is the fact that I even reset my CMOS which didn't help fix the standby problem unless I turned off XMP. The memory is very stable at both speeds but if I use standby at the 2400mhz speed I get a BSOD. With the 1333mhz I have zero issues with standby. I am not sure if it's either my motherboard or my memory? I have also even inputted the speeds and timings manually by looking at the product specs online which only offered the same result. The other shocking thing is my motherboard also supports 3000 MHz RAM speeds. Overall, I need to figure out the reason why I get BSODS when I put the computer on standby and after that, it says it has a bad overclock. In other uses besides standby, there are no issues with XMP. Since the last update of Hitman 2016, it crashes at the title screen when I press enter. I have the latest Nvidia driver and Windows 10 updates. I also reinstalled Hitman and still get a crash. It doesn't tell me what error it is either. I tried contacting Io-Interactive last week and no reply back. From Event Viewer:

Anybody else got problems with this update? My build instant freeze and shot down when i start c4d and hit render. And my fans are not working correctly anymore. App center always say that could not calibrate because motherboard have been changed. I have reinstalled F8 now. But still the same issue with the fans. Can it be that this damn update has fucked up my system? edit: ryzen 7 / gigabyte 3 gaming board

I recently obtained a brand new GPU, before then my games always crashed during mid battles or sometimes during the loading screen. I am playing Attila Total War, with mods, Seven Kingdom's to be exact, but now with a new GPU it still continues to crash. I never experienced this before even on my old card, so I assumed that the card was simply outdated. I did a test on my RAM to insure that it was okay, what is the damn problem? Even on the unmodded version it will crash mid battle. What can I do? I've frustrated myself with endless "fixes" or "remedies" in regards to find if it's indeed my RAM causing the issue but none so far, well, none that I know of. When I run the game, my RAM will reach to about 70% to 80%. Even trying to find out if anybody else has had this problem, yet nobody has. I honestly don't know what to do at this point. Hell, if I'm just watching a youtube video my RAM will run at 50% There are tons of processes on start up, and even disabling startup applications doesn't stop the mas influx of prosses that run at start up. I'm not computer savy, so I'm hoping somebody can help me here because even the creators of the Total War series haven't responded in their "support" forums. 8GB RAM DDR3 btw. about 3-4 years old. 1TB Harddrive, same age, about 950GB used.

So, yesterday I bought an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB (G1 Gaming OC Edition from GIGABYTE). It seemed like the perfect budget card for my needs. I live in a very small country near the Adriatic, and actually functional computer hardware seems to be quite uncommon, even if it's supposed to be brand-spanking new. Before this card I had an AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB (Asus DirectCUII Edition). That card worked just fine. I used DDU to remove all AMD Crimson drivers and installed all the latest Nvidia drivers from their site... At first, everything seemed to be working normally until a couple hours after I got it, when pretty much ANY game I tried to play would crash to desktop almost instantly (in some rare cases the game could run for 5-10 mins before crashing.) Even at the lowest possible settings, Battlegrounds, Rainbow Six, Need for Speed, etc. would barely run for 5-10 mins with FPS counts that even any older potato could replicate. As you can imagine, it was incredibly unstable. And keep in mind that this card should be able to play all of these titles at high-ultra settings at 60 fps at the least. The only games it could run normally were much less demanding titles like Garry's Mod, CS:GO, and ArmA 3 at medium works for some reason. Could it be some kind of overheating issue? All I have for cooling is the CPU fan and GPU fans. And it is the summer time. I reinstalled ALL the drivers 2-3 times to no success. I switched wires around, checked other components to see if they were interfering in some way, changed settings in GIGABYTE Xtreme and BIOS, cleaned the entire PC of dust, NOTHING. My PSU can definitely handle it, I know that for a fact. Another thing to mention is that I did in fact see a bunch of black pixels and artifacts from time to time, which leads me to believe that this is just a bad card, a dud. I have no other options than just getting it replaced. I saw some other posts on the forums where people were saying there could be a motherboard issue which would just be devastating for me because I can't afford a new one at this time. Here are my system specs, and I really hope someone from the community has an answer:Motherboard: Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0;CPU: AMD FX-8320 (8-Core);CPU Fan: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO;GPU: GIGABYTE Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB (G1 Gaming Edition);RAM: 8GB DDR3 HyperX Beast (2x 4GB - DUAL CHANNEL);PSU: ThermalTake 450W;HDD: Western-Digital Caviar Green 1TB;Case: LOGIC Cooling Master Mid-Tower

So my computer has had an issue for a while where ram usage slowly builds up to 100% regardless of if it is even doing anything or not. It builds up and then crashes programs and renders the computer unusable. Ive monitored and searched for programs using high amounts of ram but nothing in the processes seem to be the cause. I've done all kinds of scans for malware. Originally it was a slow not very problematic issue, it would take a very long time to fill all 16GB of my ram to the point there wasn't enough left for my programs but now it happens in about 25 minutes. I suspect if I just re-installed windows 10 it would go away but I would rather try to fix it first before I go through the hassle. System specs: 4770k@4.2GHz, 16GB DDR3 2133 Ram,GTX980ti gpu, WIN10 on samsung 840 256GB drive, a WD black 2tb HDD, a 3TB seagate barracuda HDD and a creative labs Sound Blaster Recon 3D pci-e sound card. This System is going on 4 years old and I keep it turned on most of the time. I don't know if this is maybe a hardware problem where the memory controller is going bad or anything like that. If anyone has any suggestions or experience like this, I'd like to know.

Greetings dear reader, I bought my First Gaming computer 3 years ago with a Cpu: Fx4300 Gpu: Amd R7 360OC 8gb of ram DDR3 Board: Gigabyte GA970A-DS3P Standard Cooler (small one) Power Supply: is a Corsair VS650 Now this was not good enough for me and a different reason you will read very very soon so 1 year ago i upgraded the PC with Cpu: Fx8370 With a Wraith Cooler Gpu: AMD Rx 470 4gb Strix Same 8gb ram Same GA 970A DS3P Same Vs650 Power supply. For as long as i have it. It tends to crash once every 2 weeks for absolutely no reason (Staring at my background kind of usage). So i decided to upgrade it because it was not quick enough and i thought the problem was related to my CPU or GPU. But after i did this (upgrade) Which i was very proud of : D, it crashes nearly ever 3 hours while playing a specific game (WarThunder Which runs a very smooth 90fps average) The crash is a sort of crash where the screen goes black and the in game sounds glitch and make a 0,3 second loop, the computer then completely locks up and will not recover from it. This Crash is completely random (so i don't got any footage of it) and forces me to hold down the power button and force it to turn off. Now since i really like playing War Thunder i am getting sick of my computer failing on me and i ask you, the very nice community of LinusTechTips to try and help me fix this problem..
