Hi guys I am wanting to get the gigabyte p85-d3 and the g3258. I wanted to know if they are compatible out of the box or if there is a bios update needed because I don't have any other 1150 processors nor anybody I can borrow from. Also is this board okay for overclocking the g3258? I don't intend to do any intense overclocking (Only to about 4ghz).

Is this a good build? And is everything compatible?
Igryoo posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
I'm building a PC and I wanted to check before I went ahead and ordered all the parts whether everything was compatible and would be able to handle a triple monitor setup at 1080p. I'm gonna mainly use it for video editing and multi-tasking, but not really gaming. MSI Z97-G43 i7 4770 MSI 4GB GTX 760 CX750W Corsair Vengeance Blue 16GB 1600MHz Also, will it fit in a BitFenix Neos?- 7 replies

Hi guys, this question is about video card compatibility, I wondered if you coudl use a combination of an AMD based video card with a Nvidia based one to get the benefits of both, not in a form of CrossFireX or SLI but just 2 plugged in the same motherboard, what will happen to it, same performance or higher or even lower?

I'm currently doing a green and black build but I wanted to get Avexir Venom Series RAM. However, I'm not sure if the two are compatible. I tried looking on the internet if anyone has got both to work but couldn't even find anyone that tried it. Another thing is that Gigabyte hasn't got the memory compatibility updated since last year. Does anyone know what I could to or anyone who got both to work?

First time poster here Some questions: 1. Is there waterblock that would fit msi r9 270x 2GB gaming edition? Im planing to do custom loop for crossfire setup in mATX case so I have to water cool them. If there isnt, does kraken g10 and corsair h55 fit this same card? And if they do can I put 2 cards next to each other (mATX case so only 4 slots for two dual slot cards) or is kraken g10 too thick? Thanks!!!!!!!!

Hey forum! Has anyone found a genuine titan black water block? I can't seem to find one... Also, will some titan (original) water blocks work with titan black? EK FC might work but what about NVXP due to extra VRAM?

Hey LTT, quick question regarding hackintosh hardware. I was looking at this GTX 780 Classified, and I was wondering if I could use it for hackintoshing. Anyone know if it's compatible out of the box, or if I could flash it? Also since its dual BIOS, does that mean I could flash one BIOS to be a "Mac" bios, and the other to be a PC BIOS, and then I could switch between performance and compatibility when I needed?

This is it. After a lot of research, I am coming to the end of the planning stage regarding my new gaming PC. However, there are still some queries that must be cleared up before proceeding, as I wish to be absolutely certain in what I'm doing, and what I'm buying. Preparation is key. I don't feel ready to spend any money at all yet as I don't know what I'd be getting myself into. I want to make sure that when each part arrives, I'll know from step 1 that everything is compatible, and that I know exactly what to do. I have come up with a likely build on Pcpartpicker, do you think this would work? Are all the parts compatible? Do you think my choice of parts are of good quality, or are their areas of which I could improve? Perhaps to save cost or, notify me of a more adequate piece of hardware that I am unaware of? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Gregz/saved/4x27 Or here's the list: CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (£224.99 @ Aria PC) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (£79.99 @ Ebuyer) Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£98.24 @ Scan.co.uk) Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (£120.61 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk (£89.97 @ Dabs) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£52.79 @ Aria PC) Case: NZXT Phantom (Black/Orange) ATX Full Tower Case (£114.59 @ Overclockers.co.uk) Optical Drive: LG UH12NS30 Blu-Ray Reader, DVD/CD Writer (£41.70 @ Aria PC) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) (£69.96 @ CCL Computers) Monitor: Hannspree HE225DPB 21.5" Monitor (£86.99 @ Ebuyer) Total: £979.83 PLEASE NOTE: I am aware there isn't a power supply or graphics card present in that list, this is because I already own a Geforce GTX 780ti WINDFORCE edition GPU and a CS750M Corsair PSU. Are these parts ALSO compatible with the build? Will the wires connect properly, do I have the correct wires and connections? I am unaware of how to find out. Here are the questions I need to find the answers to: 1. How do you install the operating system onto the SSD specifically for faster booting times + how to install any games on the SSD specifically afterward? Following that point, how do you manage both the SSD space and HDD space, using the Hard drive for file storage, the SSD for games and such. Where will their icons appear on the computer? How can I acces them specifically and how can I manage what files go where? I mostly want normal files in the giant HDD storage, and games + operating system and other programs I want to run fast on the SSD. In short, how do I setup my operating system to start on the SSD drive as opposed to the hard drive, and how would I go about installing games to the SSD as well? 2. How do I ensure everything is compatible? Such as "will the graphics card fit in that motherboard, is the card long enough? Do I have enough connections to the motherboard from the power supply" etc. 3.How can I find out if my power supply is powerful enough to power all of my components? 4. Is there a good "go to" tutorial on how to install the "H100i liquid cooling system" from Corsair? I am unable to find a clear video as of yet. I am worried about it's installation, and I hope to make it as easy as possible. 5. I need to know the specifics. Does my motherboard support specific RAM memory (1866 in my case)? I am also aware my motherboard is "1150" is this compatible with my other parts? Are there any other specifics I am missing that could be of use to me? 6. Finally, warrenty. Let's say something is faulty upon arrival, or I find something doesn't fit or... something breaks or... something is simply wrong with a specific component. How would I go about sending it back for a full refund, with as little hassle as possible? Is it even possible to send it back like that? I want to ensure that when I am building the computer in my room, I am absolutely ready for anything, and that any problems can be rectified easily and efficiently. I know there are a lot of questions, and I know they ramble on for a while, but due to my lack of knowledge, I am unable to specify. I do hope I can get my final piece of help from here, as this is the final step required to go onto the purchasing stage. I want to ensure everything goes smoothly and I don't regret any decisions or find out a critical error while in the middle of constructing the build. Thank you.

So my mum wants a new PC, she isn't going to use it for gaming, but it would be good if it could be upgraded in the future. I just wanted to know your opinions on this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2Gz223 PS: Not sure about the OS yet, I think I might have a Windows 7 code lying around somewhere Is the PSU any good? I live in Norway and it would cost me about 7500NOK (1255USD) - Oslosurfer

Source: http://uk.hardware.info/news/36752/intel-9-series-chipsets-not-compatible-with-haswell So apparently the 9 series chipset will not be compatible with the current generation Haswell chips. It seems to be because there will be minor differences in communication between the socket and the chipset. What do you guys think?

Hey! I'm updating my old gaming computer. Now i'm using 3x2gb 1333mhz Kingstone ram but i'd like to get 8 or 16 gb of Vengeance 1600mhz I have a P7H55-M PRO motherboard and Asus' website says: Memory 4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 2133(O.C.)*/1333/1066 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory Dual Channel memory architecture So does it handle 1600mhz? On the site this frequency is not reported, but the fact that it does handle 2133mhz makes me think it could

Hi all, I recently received my order for a new budget build and I have a pair of 2GB DDR3 1600MHz GSkill sticks as well as the 4 GB stick which arrived via FedEx tonight. My question is, will it be alright to mix 'n match a 4 gig stick with 2x 2 gig sticks? The photos are pretty blurry but you should be able to make out the model #s and timings. They -LOOK- compatible, but I just have to be sure. Motherboard in question is the MSI Z97M-G43. Thanks for any help! -Steve

My name is Johannes and i want to build my own desktop 1. Budget & Location I'm from Denmark (Europe). My budget is $1200 USD. 2. Aim Browsing! - A lot Programming and Virtualization - A bit Gaming(League of Legends at 60 fps (Because of my monitor )) - A lot Tired of a slow pc and "Windows is not responding" Solid desktop so i don't have to buy a new one in the next years. 3. Monitors I have 1 monitor - 1920 X 1080 and it is a 60hz monitor 4. Peripherals Nope... only Windows 8 - 64 bit. 5. Why are you upgrading? Currently i'm using a laptop as a desktop. Last year i brougt a Asus laptop and everything was just fine until the screen started to flicker. I bougt a new laptop (A chep Lenovo) and then i'm now using the Asus laptop as a desktop which kinda works but it's too slow. Another reason why i'm buying a new computer is because i play League of Legends which i'm having problems with. I'm lagging as .... and the Client crashes. I have tried to reinstall windows but i have the same problem(Not internet problems!). And I also want to build my own desktop although I have no experience with hardware. I hope someone can help me with finding the best PSU to my build. Also i want to know if the parts are compatible Thank you for your time

I was looking to buy an R9 270 from my friend for a low price and was wondering if it will work with my PC, and if it does, if it will damage the GPU. I am definitely building a new PC in a few months but want to see if I can use it with my existing one at the moment, I don't care about damaging my current one as it's crap. I'm just worried about the card. I know it will bottleneck A LOT but I don't care as its not my daily driver. So I'm upgrading from a core 2 duo to an Ivy/sandy Bridge i5 but I'm not willing to pay anything much over 150$. So I'm getting a used CPU without a stock heatsink and hoping to use the cooler off my core 2 duo. So is there anyway I could find if the core 2 duo LGA 775 stock cooler is compatible with the new socket ? I already have thermal paste and I'm looking to keep costs at an absolute minimum.
