I'm choosing parts for a new pc and need some advice for the case: - White color - ATX or M-ATX - Noctua D15 - RTX 4070ti - PSU Corsair RM1000e - Fit a 1 x 3.5" HDD Where I live it's very warm in summer so looking for a case that has the possibility to put fans under the GPU, my favorite candidate was the Fractal Design Torrent Compact, but I've read the problems with cable management so looking for similar sized alternatives Suggestions?

There hasn't been much if any improvement at all in this space in the past 5 years. SFX power supplies are still $100+ for anything decent. There's a lack of truly compact cases (with decent airflow) under $100. The fundamentals issues still exist: GPU's/CPU's in the desktop market demanding more power. Enthusiasts who spend $1000+ on a machine want the best performance possible. People don't want to pay more for less. Lack of coordination between manufacturers. Companies like Apple, MS and Sony can get powerful efficient yet small machines because they buy in bulk, sell in bulk and they pick parts that work well together. But a base of niche consumers buying different products from different companies won't get that bulk savings. I'd expect modest improvement, maybe somewhat faster in improvement than the last 5 years, but I'd still temper my expectations.

I enjoy mechanical keyboards but find myself typing faster and with less errors on cheap-and-cheerful low-profile membrane keyboards from the likes of Dell and A4Tech. Finally, a Short Circuit video made me aware of the existence of the NuPhy Air75 keyboard which is compact, low-profile, mechanical, wireless, RGB-backlit and, Apple users rejoice; Mac-compatible. What more could one ask for? Well, perhaps that's the problem, but we will get to that. First Impressions The packaging comes with a nicely designed and comprehensive list of the myriad of key shortcuts to change things like the connectivity mode, backlight and sidelight settings, sleep mode setting or to do a factory reset. While we are on the subject, no further information is provided on what "sleep mode" is but the keyboard will automatically power-off after 30 minutes of idling regardless of that setting so... your guess is as good as mine on that one. And on reverse of the aforementioned key shortcut list there is a picture of an anime-style waifu. And she's on the box art. And there are stickers with her included as well. For some a nice touch, for others a very tired "oh come on! does everything have to be gamer-y?", as when you take a look at the keyboard itself, it really doesn't look like a gamer-focused product, does it? Incessant need of marketing teams to please everyone notwithstanding, the board itself screams quality. The frame is aluminium. The caps are PBT and the design itself brings memories of the gray-and-white keyboards of old, but with a modern, designer twist. Connectivity You can connect the NuPhy to up to 5 devices at a time. 3 via bluetooth 5.0, 1 via the 2.4 Ghz wireless dongle and one through a USB C cable (included). I immediately opted for the 2.4 GHz connection as it allows for low-latency input for the occasional gaming session. The range is abysmal, though. If you get up from the desk and carry the keyboard around even a pretty small room you will experience missed keystrokes and delays. But all that could be forgiven. You're supposed to use keyboards at a desk, right? Well, if the dongle is any further than about 10 cm from the keyboard, the input becomes inconsistent. I kid you not. If you have a desktop PC that's sitting on the floor you might have to run an extension USB cable for the dongle. At that point, is it really wireless? You might as well plug in the included USB C cable. Battery Life The Air75 uses an internal battery that you can charge with the USB C cable. You can use the sidelight to view current battery status but it’s not particularly useful as it’s going to show green throughout almost the entire charge and will suddenly start blinking yellow if it’s running low, at which point you have maybe 2 minutes to plug it in before it’s dead. So, by all means you may get caught while playing an online match or doing time-sensitive work. For my typical use one charge is enough to last a week, and that’s more of the same of what I’ve read other users report online. They also report that after a few months of use the battery is only good for a day, so I guess I’ll get to find out eventually whether my wireless keyboard is even less wireless than 10 cm from a dongle. Typing Experience Upon plugging in my $110 keyboard eager to get full enjoyment from a more pleasant, better typing experience to cheap, low-profile membrane keyboards I’ve grown to tolerate I… immediately hated it. At least at first. The keycaps are shorter than on “standard” mechanical keyboards, yes. But other than that, no immediately obvious consideration was put into adjusting the shape to the form factor. The surfaces of keys ended up becoming larger, but they are still right next to each other as they would on a standard board. That results in your fingers catching on neighboring keys as you type, which then results in accidental keystrokes. That, I believe could be alleviated if the surfaces of the keycaps were slightly smaller, so that they would taper towards the top a bit more, or if their overall sizes were a little smaller thus creating small gaps between keys. But here we are with a shape that could be described like this: imagine a standard height keycap and slice it in half horizontally. Overall, now that I spent a few weeks accustoming myself to the quirky shape of the keycaps I’m feeling rather satisfied with the experience, though I wouldn’t call the NuPhy Air75 the best keyboard to type on. As for the switches, you get a selection of red, brown or blue mechanical Gaterons. I’ve opted for the browns and they feel perhaps somewhat more linear than some other brown switches I’ve experienced before, though I would still describe them as perfectly fine. The switches are hot swappable, made even easier by the included keycap and switch removal tool, so that’s neat, I guess. 3 additional switches are included but only one can go bad before you need to spend money on replacements, though, as they are 1 of each kind, not all three of the variant you selected upon purchase. Bells and Whistles You also get individual RGB lighting with a variety of modes you can select through proper keyboard shortcuts. That’s fine, but the keycaps don’t have shine-through characters so the light doesn’t actually light them up. And while during the day you may taste the RGB rainbow just fine, at night it won’t actually do anything to help you see the keys. All in all, the RGB lighting on this keyboard has the distinct stink of an afterthought. On top of that you get two sidelights that also feature a few switchable lighting modes, but can be turned off in which case the left one serves as a caps lock indicator and the right one can be a battery indicator if you so desire. Function keys serve also as media controls and buttons for basic operations such as changing the brightness of your screen or, rather annoyingly, bringing up Teams. That last one will minimize whatever full-screen application you may be running so that’s not exactly well thought-through. My understanding is the optional software you can download from NuPhy’s website should allow you to modify the behavior of function keys but I haven’t been able to try it out because the software would not detect the keyboard. At least I think that’s what was going on. Clicking on the tray icon did absolutely nothing. Windows would even warn me upon running the installer for it that it’s unrecognized software. So, I guess it’s not ready, to put it kindly. If you don’t want your keyboard to lay completely flat you might enjoy the nice magnetic snap-on rubber feet that raise the back a bit for improved typing comfort, if that’s how you like it. If you’re willing to pay extra $19 you will receive a carrying case, but note that it doesn’t include a space for the aforementioned rubber feet or the 2.4 GHz dongle. All Things to All People? That’s probably what the marketing team wanted and probably not what the engineers wanted. It’s a serious, high-quality product. It’s compatible with Macs. It’s gray and white or gray and other different gray, depending on your choice at purchase. But there’s an anime girl on the packaging, on the manual leaflet and there are anime girl stickers in the box. It’s a product for professionals, but there’s RGB lighting. It’s wireless but instead of doing one type of connection properly (and if they were to fully go ahead with the “it’s for gamers and has waifus and RGB” rhetoric that should probably be the low-latency 2.4 GHz connection) they did multiple ones poorly. It’s an expensive product for people with expensive tastes but includes a cheap-toy-tier battery, an even worse status indicator and software that doesn’t work properly months after release of the product. But put the identity problem aside, is it worth recommending? Honestly, knowing what I know now I would have gone with something different for that money. But then, what would that be? If you need it to be a 75% compact, low profile, mechanical and low-latency wireless this, I believe, is your only option, as others only support a Bluetooth connection or are bigger.

I need this PC to be as small as possible (handle is a bonus) but be able to fit both an Nvidea GPU and (in the future) a Blackmagic DeckLink Quad Capture Card (not included in the budget). I will be using cheapo HDMI to USB capture cards (4) for a short time and I use a Zoom L-12 for audio so would need enough IO for that as well. Appreciate the help!

i'm looking into replacing my Cooler Master MC600P case with something a little smaller, its a fine case but its rather large and i want to slim things down. So there are a few things im looking for small but fits ATX (currently rocking a Gigabyte X570 AORUS Elite ) fits a 280 RAD plenty of room for storage - 2 SSDs + 4 HDs decent airflow im currently using a 2070 super asus dual oc (10.5 " x 4.7 " x 2.28 " Inch) so it should fit in most cases p.s. I recently saw the video on the Lian Li O11 AIR MINI, but im shopping around first

I saw an ad for this compact and portable gaming pc from a company I've never heard of. And after a quick online search, apparently nobody else has either. The only video about it on YouTube is of an actor talking about its features in front of a green screen, and search results come up with chemistry pages on helium or mercury, or a game called Helium. Hi everyone hope you're doing fine in this quarantine! I was curious to see if there are more Atx case that take advantage of vertical SSD and Nvme mounting to get rid of the HDD bay to deliver a more compact factor. one of the smaller full-featured Atx case is the Fractal Define S, and in red is the empty space for the HDDs. but the Define C simply cuts it away, while still leaving 315mm of space for a GPU. Do you have any models that follow this trend? (ATX, not Micro) there does not seem to be a lot of new case model in the past year (ie: to take advantage of newer Front I/O standards like 3.2 not that I care that much) Thanks! I've been trying to figure out what's the highest density storage medium you can buy(volume-wise). I know there are 512GB Micro-SD cards available, and appearantly Sandisk has a 1TB card to. If that is true, these cards must have a storage density magnitudes higher then any SSD or hard drive, but on all the websites I've seen discussing high density storage, there's never even a mention of SD Cards. According to Wikipedia the highest density medium is DNA, but I'm fairly certain you can't run out and buy yourself a DNA-drive just yet. So what is really the highest density storage available? If you had to carry petabytes of data in a backpack, what would be the best choice? All answers are appreciated!

Hi everyone, I'm looking to build a new custom PC and since I've lost track of hardware a while ago, I'd like to get some help. In short: Budget: $1500 (system only, no peripherals or monitor needed) Use: Gaming (1080p, preferably 120Hz), Media Consumption, possibly Video Editing Other: Compact / Mid-Size Case preferred, would like to avoid large cases, though performance shouldn't be compromised Integrated Wifi or a separate Wifi module would be great DVD/Blu-ray drive required I'd be willing to be more flexible on the budget, but I'm not gaming as much as used to and don't have a 4K monitor, so I feel like spending more wouldn't net me a whole lot of extra value. Something to consider is that I've only just bought a GTX 1070 about a year ago (which was used in my old rig), so I could still use it in this system. I wasn't very impressed with it though, in BFV frame rates never got to a point where I felt like I benefited from my 144 Hz monitor. Granted, the rest of the system was from 2012, so I think the other components may have been holding it back (a little?). Would you consider replacing the GTX 1070 or sticking with it for now? Are M.2 SSDs worth considering? And would an AMD processor be a better option these days? Thanks in advance!

Ok so basically... PC upgrade time. My plan is to switch up my very simple, boring, but pretty system by moving towards a less empty feeling tower with #matteblackallthethings and RGB illumination with metal colours here and there. What I picture in my head is so beautiful that it must come to life, so here we are. I will be creating a custom water cooling loop within a small form factor with soft tubing - thick, matte black, soft tubing, with as little fittings as possible. The majority will say hard tubing is much sexier than soft tubing, and from a certain standpoint, this may be an obvious thought. HOWEVER, you're all forgetting that soft tubing has natural curves... OK enough of that talk, I just personally think its a better look in this case and for a first time custom water cooler, I'd prefer to take the easy route anyways. Directly below the reservoir would be the pump mounted sideways on a couple universal brackets with outlet pointing towards the power supply. ______________________ The loop will go from the reservoir to the pump by drilling a hole directly between the two in the cable bar & basement ceiling and using pass through ports and different fittings. It will exit the pump into a 3-way t-splitter fitting that'll split to a ball valve draining port and ahead to a 90° angled fitting back up to the basement ceiling. With another pass through port in a second drilled hole in-line with the first, the loop will head up to the right-hand GPU block port as the graphics card will be mounted vertically. Then out the left-hand GPU block port to the right 120mm radiator port, out the left and into the CPU block inlet port. From here it will go from the CPU block outlet port to the right 280mm radiator port, out the left, and back into the reservoir. One of the 90° ports on the top of the reservoir will lead to another drilled hole with pass through port on the inside panel to be used as a filling port. ______________________ I will also invest in a few other pieces to the puzzle: - Phanteks 220mm PCIE 90° Riser Cable ~for the vertical graphics card mount. - An extra 6-Pin PCIE cable from CableMod to power the graphics card and match the other cables. - Corsair Commander Pro & Corsair RGB Fan Hub ~to support & control all the fans and their RGB lighting. - A custom designed fan grill for the top 140mm fan, to hide the ugly back of fans and give it a completely different look whilst still letting RGB goodness shine through. - A custom cut mirrored acrylic PCIE shelf that can 'clip in' to the highest short PCIE slot to hold light ornaments / figurines. - Possibly an EK-Vector RTX Backplate - Nickel ~in-case I cannot remount the founders edition stock back plate. - Possibly a Matte Black dbrand laptop skin to wrap the reservoir if I do not like the look of clear water in a clear plastic cylinder. - Possibly, down the line, a custom real neon or NeonPlus LED sign to be hung in the middle somewhere. ______________________ SO... In conclusion, after all that, I should end up with a well planned, fully functional, fully beautiful computer where no purchase decisions end up being wrong. To counter that completely, I will buy the parts sequentially rather than all at once, so I can double check measurements etc. Now the reason for having a small fan cooling the basement is because pumps tend to get quite hot, so best to circulate some air down there too. I also have a CableMod 30cm RGB strip that I will locate vertically along the back left edge of the case, facing across (not into) the case and graphics card. I will also be removing the 3.5" drive bays to allow enough room in basement. Before I create a huge hole in my financial pocket, can I get some peoples opinions on this build? Along with any concerns towards measurements, compatibility, missing components, or advice. Questions I have currently: - Where do I mount the Commander Pro and LED Hub? - If a PCIE slot can hold a graphics card with help from an expansion slot or two, then can a short PCIE slot hold up a piece of acrylic? - How flexible is 13/19mm soft tubing? - Will I need more or less than 1L of coolant in this loop? - Can I trust local stores to supply perfect distilled water without any additives? As per the title, looking for a mechanical keyboard thats compact that I can travel to LAN parties with, and put in my carry on for plane trips with my Ghost S1 case. I liked the look and design of the Vortex Race 3 Aluminium, but looks like they are no longer in production and sold out everywhere. Can anyone recommend something similar? Will be paired with a corsair M65 pro mouse in white.

Hey guys! It's been awhile, you can check out my last build log in my signature however it got converted into a work desktop and I needed something for gaming and home use again. I am planning to build a compact pc for my 3d modelling , some photo / video editing . Compact pc because I could carry with me anywhere and will consume less space . This is my first pc build so i have no idea about compatibility . Any suggestions will be appreciated. A friend of mine who is currently a university student is looking for a new printer. He currently has a Brother Ink jet MFP that chugs ink like a frat boy at a party with free beer and is looking to switch to a laser/LED printer. His only requirements are that it has to be a compact MFP as he lives in a small one bedroom condo with is partner and space is at a premium (he likes the size of my Samsung SCX-3205W), mono, scanner, wireless and doesn't cost as much as the first wireless printer ever made!. I have tried looking for something that suites his needs, but printers are not my area of expertise. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.

Hi, a few days ago my old Sony Xperia Z1 gave up . I think it is an issue with the battery. I was checking an replacement which would be budget solution which would cost up to around 300 euro. But i dont need the latest tech as i can work with i have available. But i have one big restriction and that would be it should not be bigger than the 4.6 inch. That is the old xperia was a little smaller whic was great ( i dont need a brick in my pants ). Are there any other choices i might have missed ? which are "recent" ? Thank in advance for any advice and help.

Hello everyone, I am looking for a mini compact computer that can run IVMS-4200 (security camera monitoring program), and stream usually at most 16 feeds at once. Only requirements I have are that it has to have at least one RJ-45 port and an hdmi port. Currently, I am using the Zotac zbox CI325 nano but it really isn't really as powerful as I would like. I am looking for it to be under $250 USD. I do understand that more you pay the better you can get, but still. Thanks for your help. Feel free to ask any other questions if need be.

Introduction Firstly, hey LTT community! I am a new member in this community forum and before then, I have been watching many videos from LMG, which inspired me to join this community and build my first gaming rig. I also built a tower game server using server hardware after encountering my first LTT video of Linus explaining the difference between Intel Core and Intel Xeon CPUs, but it was sold as I stopped hosting game servers. I am a young adult living in Singapore! After a few years in the Desktop Replacement Laptop community, when I used to heft a large laptop with "desktop grade hardware", my lifestyle was, I needed a laptop with desktop hardware since it needs to go out often for school, classes and LAN parties. Now, the journey in the Desktop Replacement laptop community has come to an end as I have finished my polytechnic degree, now awaiting for graduation and almost never take a computer out of the home anymore. I needed a new system, but instead of buying another laptop, I decided to go with a desktop build. And a modern, epic one, inspired by a few of LTT's videos. I now unveil to you, my computer system which I call: Sky Soarer I decided to of course, go with a more value optimized build for the computer box itself and for a first timer, to challenge myself to build a Compact Gaming Rig, that has some level of LAN party portability so once in a blue moon I could bring it to a family or friend's place to play! This build is currently still in progress, but I am near completion! These LTT videos inspired me the most to build the rig: and more importantly, I like RGB as well, like Linus does! Looking to get a new mechanical keyboard for my setup. I currently have a Corsair K70 RGB mechanical keyboard and I think I've grown out of this whole RGB thing. Do you guys have any recommendations on a nice compact, non RGB, mechanical keyboard? (Preferably switches similar to MX Brown). In terms of price point I'm looking to stay under $150. I have a request from my employers to build some PCs to use for demonstrations. They would like to travel with these PCs and need a large amount of power to run the virtualization we need. Management is asking me to slap 128gb of RAM in something compact enough to carry on board a plane and carry across the globe. I do not think a laptop would be able to push what they want, seeing they are complaining about a maxxed out P70 Thinkpad. Liquid cooling is obviously out due to TSA regulations. Our software we are demonstrating controls entire electric grids, so the VM demos are pretty fat (~600GB in files alone). I assume to get the butter smooth presentations they want, I could either build a x299 crate PC or something compact with a folding monitor for their reference. (Clients will see projector). Then cut some foam and put in a rolling Pelican case. Ideally, I need to build a decent prototype, then possibly 4x more. Currently thinking: X299 128GB RAM 2TB NVME SSD Quadro P4000 Any ideas for a case or solution would be great. Budget (I wish was mine.....) $12K per travel "kit"

Hello! First of thanks for helping me decide which phone to get a few months ago ( It became the OP 3T) I'm going for a small city trip and i want to take some nice photographs. The problem is i dont want to take my heavy reflex camrea with me. So im opting for a compact camera in a decent price range. I was recommanded the Sony DSC-HX60VB CyberShot, but somehow i'm not sure. Is this a good option in the pricerange of around 200-300€? Thanks for the help!

Hey everyone, Currently running on mac, 2015, and it is seriously running slowly. I am setup in my room, which is quite small, this will be my first build, I would be quite savy so the build itself would not scare me, but the wide variety of parts, different numbers and all of that does. Looking for recommendations in the 1200-2000 euro range for a small, compact but powerful build. Graphics card is not essential as I am not too much of a PC Gamer, however I want the option to be open for future expansion. Currently looking at a Ryzen 7 1700x as the CPU, and I am just overwhelmed what to look at next. I am, as I said new to the building community, would appreciate all help! Cheers
