Bought the MSI X99a Gaming 7 and 2-980 ti hybrids. This is my first PC build. And I have no idea which Evga Sli bridge to get cause want it to look good. Looking at EVGA Pro SLI Bridge V2 But not sure what size to get, I can't figure out which PCI slots the cards have to go in, cause not sure how big the spots are. And have no idea what Sli Bridge is right size. Any help on this is much apreciated thanks. I understand the sli bridge is no different then ones that comes with board, I just want it for looks.

Source: http://hexus.net/ce/news/gadgets/86615-watch-trio-flying-drones-build-working-rope-bridge/ _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is pretty damn cool and a very interesting usage for drones. I'd imagine something like this could be useful in disaster areas if the bridge was made of more solid materials. This also brings up the topic of whether or not large industrial drones could be used to replace cranes on building sites, due to the massive space savings and potential cost reductions. I hope we see more of this kinda stuff in the future. Relevant:

The wifi in our dorms is limited to 3 mb/s, and the lan can go quite a bit faster, but can be unstable at times. My question is whether there is a way to combine the speed of the 2 connections? and make a larger single pipe.

So, I have been planing an upgrade and was wondering if I would need a spaced SLI bridge for said setup? The mobo I have right now is the ASRock z77 extreme4... It comes with an SLI bridge but it looks like there wouldn't be enough space... am I wrong or do I need to get a spaced SLI bridge? Just to give some idea, it will be setup like this: Strix 970 Asus xonar dg Strix 970

Hi there, Before I continue with my question, here's my current PC build: -XFX FX-777A-ZNF4 Radeon HD 7000 Series; AMD; Radeon HD 7770; 1000 MHz; CrossFire; 2048 x 1536 pixels; 2560 x 1600 pixels (FX-777A-ZNF4) -Intel Core i3-3220 3300GHz 3MB Cache Socket LGA1155 Desktop CPU -Corsair CMX8GX3M1A1333C9 XMS3 8GB (1x4GB) DDR3 1333 Mhz CL9 Performance Desktop Memory Module -MSI LGA1155 u-ATX Motherboard (Intel H61, 2x DDR3, GBE, LAN) -500 WATT ATX POWER SUPPLY QUIET 20-24 PIN with SATA -LiteOn IHAS124-04 24x SATA Half Height Internal DVDRW Drive -Seagate Barracuda 3.5 inch 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB 6GB/S Internal SATA Drive -Fractal Design Core 1000 Series Micro ATX Case In another topic I made, I made up my mind about upgrading my GPU at Christmas to a Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming. That being said, I'm sure that my current CPU will bottleneck the GTX 970, so I'm going to save up now to buy a new CPU before Christmas. I was firstly thinking about upgrading my current processor to an i5 3570 (non 'K' version, because my MOBO doesn't allow OC of the CPU), or an i7 3770 (non 'K'). I wasn't sure which one to get, since the 3770 is £60 more expensive than the 3570 (in the UK). Note that both, the 3570 and the 3770 are 3rd generation Intel processors (code name: Ivy Bridge). But then I was told that I should upgrade my current motherboard so that I could have a Haswell processor, and that it would be cheaper to get too. So I started digging around the web, and found the i5 4690 and the i7 4790 (both non 'K'). Links to both: i5 4690: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-3-50GHz-Graphics-Technology-Socket/dp/B00K5J2252/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1436034896&sr=8-1&keywords=4690 i7 4790: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Professional-Processor-Threading-Technology/dp/B00J56YSLM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1436034914&sr=8-2&keywords=4790 I also found out that gaming-wise, both of these processors are identical, so spending another £70 (in the UK) for the i7 4790, when all you use your PC for is gaming, would be extremely idiotic. The i7 4790 would only be superior to the 4690, when rendering videos, editing videos, and streaming (none of which I do much of). So I narrowed my search down to the 4690, but then I would need a new motherboard. This is what my question is. What motherboard should I get which will be not too expensive, and deliver good quality? (I'm looking to ideally spend no more than £40-£50 max.). But wait... After all of this, I found this cheeky guy on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KPRWB9G?colid=2BRSRZDQYDHJG&coliid=IIDNBTYW5AW09&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl That's the i5 4690k for only £10 more than the 4690 (non 'K'). So that's a no-brainer for me. I don't know why, but the £300+ 4690k was reduced down to £170. So, which processor would you buy in this situation? Should I stay with my current MOBO, and simply buy the i5 3570, or should I upgrade my MOBO (to a cheap Haswell MOBO), and get the i5 4690, or should I upgrade my MOBO to a cheap Haswell MOBO (with overclocking for the CPU) and get the i5 4690k? Note: I was also told that I should also upgrade my PSU to a good, reliable one, but I think I'm going to refrain from that for now. Should I buy a new PSU too? I don't exactly have the budget for it right now though... Sorry for the really long topic, but I wanted to give as much detail as possible. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps, Cheers!

Hi, I know little about networking but my dad asked me to bridge his home with his company store, guessing that I am an high-ultra-super-amazingly-talentented computer guy -.- ...Anyway... I have came up these products: 2x AG-HP-2G16 AirGrid M2, AirMax AP-CPE (1 per building) 1x EdgeRouter POE, 5-port Router with PoE (1 at the company building to connect the UniFi *thing* ,AirMax antenna and 2 Ubiquiti cameras(not listed)) 1x UniFi 802.11n MIMO Long Range Access Point (1 at the company building for WiFi) Will they work? Moreover (I know it's a dump question), the company building doesn't have an internet connection ,if i bridge the 2 buildings will I be able share the internet connection from my home? Thanks! P.S. Sorry for my english ,I am not a native speaker...

Hi guys, I just bought the Gigabyte Z97x Gaming GT motherboard and am trying to connect the cards on top and the bottom PCIE slots (1st and 4th), but the SLI bridges are not long enough. I got a 4 way SLI bridge, but it doesn't work for 2-way SLI and tells me to connect a SLI bridge once I power on. I need a longer flexible SLI bridge 140mm (14cm) but I cant seem to find one ANYWHERE, does anyone here know where to get one? Thanks

So basically I have my house. I have an antenna mounted on the side that connects to my linksys router via it's external sma connector. The antenna sends out the wifi signal to my shop which is quite some distance away (1/2mile). Currently in the shop I have the same model antenna with a linksys WET54G bridge connected to it. From there it connects to any typical router in this case it's a linksys N router. That's how I got internet now. However the WET54G is dieing and it is powered via DC power adapter which is located outside on an extension cord open to the harsh wisconsin winters. I want to replace the Bridge and antenna with a powered-over-ethernet antenna that will connect into my router. I've found the TP-Link TL-WA7210N and from it's description it seems like it may work. But I need to know if it will work. It claims on the website it is capable of the following, Wireless Modes: AP Router Mode AP Client Router Mode (WISP Client) AP/Client/WDS Bridge/Repeater mode, and I've been looking into the WDS Bridge mode. What I like about TP-Link is they have the configuration panel accessible via an emulator online here. Do you think this will work? If it works I might get a second to replace the ugly antenna on my house to the same and send POE to it from my router and use both antenna connectors on the router for in-house wifi signal and the one ethernet port to send to the antenna to use it as an access point. Will that work?

I've never overclocked before and decided it's about time I try. I have a 3770K so I'm fallowing this tutorial. Simple overclocking is easy enough to understand. What I don't understand is how to test my system stability each time I change something. Linus only says to run Prime 95 for 24-48 hours. I can only amuse he means after you've dialed in your overclock. Otherwise it would take weeks to overclock if you had to do that every time you uped the CPU ratio… so how do I test for stability after each tweak?

Alright, so I'm pretty new to the computer scene and finished building my first a month+ ago. My raedon r9 290x is great, but I was wondering...whats the deal with "connecting" it over a bridge to another GPU. there is no PCI-E slot on the outer side of the card. Is it just the manufacturer not making bridging? P.S. (Did I even say this right?)

Hey, so yesterday I ordered my second EVGA GTX970 SSC ACX 2.0+ (so many abbreviations) and will be doing SLI as soon as it arrives. I have an EVGA SLI Bridge (2-way) with one-slot spacing and... that damn thing with its "new-fangled" LEDs lights up on 700 series, Titan series, it even lights up on 980s, but NOT on 970s !! /rage  So I was going through this topic - http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/147394-evga-pro-sli-bridge-led-mod/ (thanks @cartdog) and I want to mod the SLI Bridge in the same way, but the fact that the 2-way Bridge is half the width than the 3-way in that topic, I cant put a LED Strip with 3 LEDs inside. So I was thinking of ghetto making my own light. The idea is to take one or two SMD LED Chips (or similar) and solder that bad boy to a 3-pin fan cable I have lying around and run it off a motherboard header. BUT... seeing that I am no electrician, how should I solder the wires, so I wouldnt blow the LED? I am guessing 5V is the required voltage, so can anybody help me with the wiring? Any help will be appreciated Thanks, cheers

I have recently purchased another Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850 2GB to add to my current build in crossfire. My build is as follows: Gigabyte Z77 DS3H Intel i5 3470 Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850 2GB x2 I am wondering if it is possible to enable crossfire through XDMA, rather than through the crossfire bridge. While AMD's website indicates that this is only possible for the R9 200 series, I have found sources that indicate that the HD 6000 series may run in crossfire without a bridge, although I could not substantiate this through research in AMD's website. Also, considering that my graphics cards will be running at x8 and x4 at gen 3 PCIE, will the extra data being transferred through the PCI slots hurt performance? I saw benchmarks from AnandTech that suggested that reducing the amount of lanes allocated to the 7970 hurt performance slightly - assuming it is possible to run these cards in crossfire without a bridge (and considering that the 7950 is significantly more powerful than the 7850), should I? Thanks!

So I managed to connect my xbox 360 to my PC using ethernet and bridge the connection so I can acces xbox live without the official adapter, woohoo. But I'm the type of person who turns off their PC every night and when I turn everything on the next day my xbox won't connect unless I delete and recreate the network bridge? I turn on my PC first and everything so can anyone tell me how I can make it connect automatically when I turn everything on?

So i just got a couple bucks from here and there and im looking for a better solution to my networking, my network card, a TL WN-881ND is like only giving me 50KBps while the task manager said its 700KBps, when i use phone tether it gives me 600KBps ish. But im not here for that. Im here to bridge 2 routers which is from the main router in the master bedroom, walls are like 1-3 inches thick, to my gaming room, the library. The main router is an ASUS RT-N12C1 which has 3 modes: Normal, Bridge, and AP(maybe), i wanna buy another RT-N12C1 because its the only router that can bridge other routers which is awesome, problem is: some say that Bridging takes HALF of the main router speed and transmit HALF from the destination router, so if the main router outputs 700KBps max will i get 350KBps?! The 2nd router will be under my monitor with ethernet cable, so im not connecting wireless Theres also another option: POWERLINE but starterpacks prices start at 10$ more than RT-N12C1 Router. Also im looking to replace my Corsair VS550W to a BeQuite Pure Power L8 600W, because my VS550W isnt 80+ and my pc restarts under gaming with heavy games as previous threads i made say... So: RT-N12C1: 44.99 USD BeQuiet! Pure Power L8 600W: 63.99 USD TOTAL: 108.99 USD But i only have right now: 78.99 USD Either i throw the PSU or the Router away PSU: Better Gaming, Less Internet Router: Better Internet, Less Gaming I want to buy a router to bridge but also a psu to game bf4. Can i have both? Cheaper PSU or Router, PSU must be 80+ because i tend to leave my pc overnight downloads and game 6-9 hours daily.

First Time Poster. If there is an issue with my formatting or this belongs somewhere else, I'll be more than happy to change it or move it somewhere else. So I am currently using a Technicolor TG589vn from the service provider Claro, I live in Puerto Rico. The router has terrible range and I have had issues getting it to do anything, no matter what I change in the settings it seems to just ignore what I told it. It says UPnP is enabled yet I can't connect my video games properly. It says it has enabled DMZ on the ip address I gave it yet I see no change. It says it forwarded the ports I told it to but using a tool on my PC reveals that it has not. I've tried all I can think of and even spent an hour on the phone yesterday with my ISP trying to sort it out. My ISP says I have to keep that router but that I am able to put it in bridge mode with another access point. I've ordered a Linksys EA3500 off Amazon, mainly to deal with the range issue, but I'm curious if the new router will fix my UPnP issues. I'm pretty new to networking equipment but from what I understand, I'll be turning off the wireless ap portion of my Technicolor and replacing it with my Linksys. Question: Once the Technicolor router is in Bridge with the new Linksys will I be able to fix my UPnP issues? Do I still have to interface with my Technicolor once the Linksys is installed? Also my internet is 10/1 VDSL if it's relevant.

Hi guys! I currently have my PC on the basement (not the stereotyped mom's basement) and it is really cold, and I want to move it to my bedroom. The problem is, in my bedroom, which is like 20m away from the router I get no WiFi signal, and where I am I have wired connection. Will I lose connection quality using a bridge? Will it cause lag? Are there any other ways of improving my router's range without buying a new one? Thanks for the help

First and foremost its so exiting to make my fist post in this community. Ok now for my question... I have a wrt54g router and wap54g access point. I have flashed the AP with dd-wrt and its working great. I want to use this AP to connect to a neighbors house and repeat his wifi for my place. I already have a pretty sweet setup as far as the antenna goes. I have a TP-link 24 dbi gain Grid antenna pointed at his house. Its 30 Feet above ground. Not sure if its perfect line of site but i do pick his signal up just fine at the moment using an engenious adapter http://www.engeniustech.com/business-networking/usb-adapters/3382-eub9603h but i would like to instead of running a usb cable into the house from the antenna tower, just put the router inside a electrical box enclosure and stick my AP inside that and repeat the signal from the neighbor on my property. So My question is....What antenna port on my AP does what? is one used for TX and RX? Is one used for both TX and RX on one connection to one of the access points, and the other for the other connection? Or are both antenna's used for both? I don't know what connector to hook the dish to and which one to hook the dipole (used to broadcast an access point for my place). I'm not even sure what to ask. Hope someone can help. Thank you!

Hello, I am going to be watercooling 2 gtx 980s in sli on an asus maximus vii hero in the top 2 slots. Could somebody link me to an appropriate sli bridge for my setup. I am going to be using 1/2 3/4 inch tubing if that matters. Also, how many compression fitting would i need for them with the sli bridge. would it be one for intake then the sli bridge then one for out take on the second card, or would i need 4 for each intake and outtake. Thanks

Alright, so I am wondering if there is a 1-2 ft SLI cable that would be available. I am 3d printing a custom case and am looking to have a mirrored effect (graphics card on each side of the MB) with my 780s. The longest I have seen has been 7 inches or if anyone knows if Nvidia is going to adapt AMD's integrated Crossfire through the PCI Express x16 slot. Personally I would like to stick with Nvidia, but will buy 2 - 290s if the SLI is not possible.

hello all, I am planning on getting a second gpu for sli but cannot find a connector (sli bridge) and was wondering if they usually come packed with the gpu or something? I don't remember weather my first one came with one or not and cannot find any mention of them on the gpu website or the store website :/ I am getting this one: http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N660Ti-PE-2GD5-OC.html#?div=Feature
